  1. Prinny Launch Attempt
If it hadn’t been obvious before that Prinny was volatile and stuffed with explosives (‘fireworks,’ some called them, Janet preferred to call them by their true name) it was now. Her previous strategy of strong-arming the sparking beast wasn’t going to work now that it was jittering around like it was ready to go off at any moment. Janet sighed, starting to wish that she’d just stayed in the audience with the rest of the laughing, pointing crowd members.

Her lips turned down in a determined frown, however. I’ll stick it out, she decided, bending down to touch the floor of the circus tent and willing a small sapling to sprout there. The skinny tree arched from the earth to just under her own height. Holding Prinny with two fingers at arm’s length, Janet fitted him into the crown of the sapling, bent it back, and let fly like a slingshot. Not the most controlled method of plushie-hurling, but with sparks flying from the penguin, ‘control’ already seemed to be out the window.

  2. Prinny Launch Attempt
“Of all the damned things—” She knew she’d heard ticking, that thing was rigged from the start! Well… in hindsight, she supposed that shoulda been obvious. Toys didn’t usually come from the manufacturer primed to set themselves on fire if you stomped on ‘em the wrong way. “Hell, I’m issuin’ a recall,” she announced, trying to focus her crossbow on the shuddering, jittering penguin as sparks flew from its hind end and whatever other gizmo inside its body ticked and turned.

I’ve been doin’ this all wrong—shoulda been aiming for the center to begin with. If she could disable whatever-the-hell that was in there—cut the blue wire, hit the big red button hidden under all that fluff, you know. ‘Course, it was a totally blind shot, but this thing had been a crapshoot to begin with. Destiny stifled another curse, still following the slightly-moving target with her bow, and then fired on impulse. Or instinct. She’d like to think it’d been instinct. Either way, she had to duck to avoid the burst of sparks that came as her bolt struck the blackened toy. “Hell!”

  3. Epilogue

One by one each contestant stepped forward once more slamming thier fist, magic, or weapon into the side of the stuff bird, and sending it flying. Each time it flew, the penguin ominously sparked as its fireworks adjusted its directory. However, despite what many hoped, it never did explode, surviving all three rounds through a tremendous means of luck. Slowly the round came to a close, signaled by Lacey who began to bounce her way through the ring.

"What an amazing show! Congratulations to @Corvella for winning the third and final round! Thank you all for coming out here, and please enjoy the rest of the circus~"

The crowd began to cheer in a far rowdier manner than when they had first gathered, but slowly began to disperse as it became clear no more events would be seen here. A single man in a black cloak stayed in the back smiling at the proceedings.

"An interesting event, to say the least, and for her very first attempt, I must say I'm impressed. Still it's time to be moving, as everything is in motion. I hope they can keep up."

Thank you everyone for your participation. As you may have noticed I tried something a little different this go around, but I am current planning to return to more puzzle based content for March. That said I'd appreciate if you could fill out a quick survey regarding future treasure events so I know what interests to cater towards: Click To Access Survey Here
