  1. ~~Midnight at Undisclosed manor~~

_____Astrel magic was both a blessing and curse, but mostly a curse as it once more crept into Kaede’s sleep filling her mind with dangerous images and sounds of what is to come. The events happen rather often, some minor she could sleep though but others, like this one waking her from a heavy sleep. Her lungs locking up as she gasped for air and held her chest, eyes glowing black and slowly returning to their blue glow. The blankets beside her shifting slowly as a woman with green hair looked over to the panicked Kaede and reached a hand to Kaede’s.

    ”Another astral vision…?”

_____The woman slowly moved to sit up, her hands pulling the sheet to cover herself as she looked to Kaede with worried eyes in the faint illuminated room. Her green eyes set on Kaede’s as she reach to pull her friend closer and Kaede simply leaned against her still trembling. She knew that there was always a chance to change the future, but that never stopped the sight of them from haunting her mind and leaving a great deal of weight on her shoulders. Moving to kiss her friend’s cheek before Kaede moved to the edge of the bed and got her clothes together.

”Would you be able to cover for me… this might take some time…”

”Sure Kaede, but you better hurry back and make sure you prevent that vision you had. Or I won’t kiss you for a week.~”

_____Kaede smiled and leaned over the bed to kiss her friend before finishing up with her attire and heading out to the courtyard. Hands tapping the stone wall as two figures walked out and simply looked at Kaede for a moment before going back the way they had came with Kaede behind them. The two males served a demon, who while she was twisted and evil was wonderful in bed. Most times Kaede had a vision these two would show up and guide her to the area, this night being no different.

    ~~Some time before dawn~~

_____The Astral vision was not exactly like what she encountered, gloved hand brushing along grey leaves as Kaede began to walk the rest of the trip. The sound of the horse drawn carriage fading in the distance along with the two who had dropped Kaede off here. Her magic was still not giving her a clear focus or direction, the numerous transparent layers before her eyes changing with every step the woman took while approaching the town. There was not much Kaede could tell as terms of life in the area, she could not see smoke but it was also fairly early.

”I’ll look around until noon, if I can’t find anything by then I’ll try a deep Astral vision… Hopefully it does not come to that though.”

_____Kaede slowed her pace as her magic began feeding her information about the events to happen, rather what has been slowly happening since some time prior. Her fist clenching tightly as she felt herself growing angry. She should have paid it more attention when one of the people had spoke about it, now things seems to begin accelerating. Her temper breaking the surface as Kaede slammed her fist against a nearby wall and hit it again with slightly less force for the built frustration.

”Calm down… Emotions cloud judgement and sight… Remove them and finish the task with clear mind and express emotion after…”

____One slow breath, and closed eyes later Kaede seemed to have lost her emotion. Her pace still slow as she scanned the area looking for clues, people, greater decay, anything that could give her a more narrow compass needle to follow. As another cold morning breeze swept Kaede’s hair and light armor around the task continued. The fear of what was to come looming heavy on Kaede’s sealed heart as she tried to stop it.

  2. Recently Mizuki had been focused on the north-east, where the Hylands were. She had picked up on the fact that both the Lion's Pride and the Aristocracy were becoming more active than they used to be, and that they were at odds with one another (no surprise, given their almost completely opposing ideals). However she was a Monster Hunter, and as such she would have little obligation to get involved unless either side had some kind of monster for her and the rest of her faction to hunt down or something. She had yet to hear about the Monster Hunters accepting human targets as prey, and if a monster showed up that threatened everyone equally it would hardly be a situation between the Lions and the Aristocracy.

There was also the fact that she didn't want to get involved in politics. Politics were enough of a hassle on Earth, one of the things she quickly decided on in Terrasphere was that she wasn't going to get involved in politics in this world. She wished King Astor and all those who were part of his court good luck, but she didn't want to be part of that. She wanted to be an adventurer, and she felt like tying herself to a country or a faction with a dedicated cause would just result in responsibility and burdens.

However now she was also hearing something about the west of Astorea, which was new. That portion had been almost completely untouched by the war, if only because it had conveniently been out of the way. Of course it hadn't avoided the effects completely, but it was doing a lot better than the east. But now there were rumours of something strange and ominous hovering over the western side of Astorea, something which was making the land appear bleaker and devoid of life, while at the same time the settlements in that area were stricken by numerous illnesses while those who weren't ill nevertheless were finding it difficult to muster any energy in a world which no longer had the vibrancy it once had.

Mizuki might purposefully refrain from involving herself too deeply with politics, but she still wanted to try and keep an eye out for the people. She didn't think of herself as a hero, but she did think of herself as a person with ethics and a healthy conscience. Which is why she'd turned away from the Hylands and headed back towards the kingdom of the players, heading for the lesser visited West as most people were more interested in the eastern, and more civilized, side.

It didn't take long for her to see what people were talking about.

Terrasphere was always very realistic and immersive, to the point that if it wasn't for the Player UI it would be very easy to believe it was the real world. However this place felt like a lot of that liveliness had just been sucked away. It felt less like an actual place, and more like some kind of dreamscape, of a nightmare which wasn't about monsters but about the loss of everything important. It was honestly seriously creepy, and Mizuki was getting worried that there weren't more people paying attention to this. If it turned out that the Lion's Pride and the Aristocracy were being so noisy that an actual catastrophe was allowed to build up without anyone doing anything about it because they were distracted... The Caenis didn't want to interfere with the fun of the other players, but if they were being that focused on having their fun that they were neglecting the world around them...

Actually she wasn't even sure what she would do. Start telling them off on how there were more important things than raising up their own faction? Maybe the whole faction thing was just making it easier for people to find reasons for conflict.

Arriving in one of the towns which was inside the afflicted radius Mizuki sniffed around, but just like everything else the scents in this place felt dampened and weaker than they should be. She wasn't even sure it was to describe it: like hearing something from behind closed doors, but then with scent. What was clear was that there was nearly nobody around, and she doubted it was only because it was so early. She gritted her teeth as she walked through the town, looking around as she tried to find any clues to what was going on here, even though she wasn't even sure what kind of clue that was supposed to be. Something unusual beyond what was already happening? Something which wasn't just faded, but something which looked like it just didn't belong here at all.

Before she found anything like that, however, she first found someone else wandering about. Mizuki blinked as she spotted the woman a bit in the distance, not recognizing her at first before the scent helped her remember. When she did though her eyes widened and she moved behind a nearby house almost reflexively, even though she herself didn't know why she'd try to hide. She hadn't expected Kaede to be here, and it threw her off. Especially since... The Caenis shook her head and inhaled deeply to clear her mind before stepping out again. Most likely Kaede was here for the same reason as the wolfwoman, so they might as well work together.

"Hey, Kaede!" She called out, lifting her hand high as greeting as she walked up to the Yladian. "Are you also trying to find out what's going on here?" She was speaking loudly, because she felt like if she spoke too softly it would fade away just like everything else here. It sounded unnatural, that strong voice tearing through a dampened world.
    @Kaede Hoshi

  3. _____The wolf girl would not be the only one startled, when Kaede overheard Mizuki’s voice her steel expression turned cherry and she fumbled backwards both in surprise and from being startled. Her blush almost comical as she tried to get herself back under control with steady breaths despite a racing heart. Turning her focus back to the area Kaede recalled the question asked of her and nodded slowly while resuming her pace to what she could guess was the center of town. Clothing moving slowly as she sat down and tried to focus herself again.

”I… I am… Long time no see Mizuki… Think our last encounter was… in Hylands?”

_____Kaede reached for her head, her mind stinging a bit as she tried to recall some of her recent memories but later giving up on the effort. Returning her still slightly flustered focus to the town as she closed her eyes and evened her breath and heart rate. Hands waving slowly at her sides as she seemed to drift to sleep rather quickly and honestly a bit odd considering her previous words. In truth she was forcing herself to use a deeper focus of Astral magic to figure out what was going to happen since seeing the past was not possible with her magic.

_____But with Mizuki more on Kaede’s mind then anything else her deeper sight to the future resulted in seeing Mizuki and Kaede rather entangled in some less than becoming events in what she could only assume happened after their current task was finished, least she hoped. And while she wanted to snap herself out of the vision, well Kaede loved to see it and sort of let the scene play before her magic booted her out and she gasped blushing badly and falling backwards panting.

”GAAA! It was just getting good!”

_____A moment of silence from Kaede before she recalled exactly WHO she just saw with her and once more getting flustered by her actions. Bolting to sit back up Kaede tired to keep her gaze from meeting Mizuki’s. She was going to seriously need to sleep with her later to hopefully lessen the visions of them doing it, but for the moment she knew or rather felt this was a more pressing matter to deal with. So once more pushing herself into another astral Vision Kaede seemed adrift in it, and forgot to explain what she was trying to her friend.
    @Ueno Mizuki

  4. It looked like she wasn't the only one who hadn't expected to encounter the other person here, although Mizuki honestly was a bit saddened at the way that Kaede reacted to her presence. She knew that the woman didn't mean anything bad by it, but ever since her friend had lost her memories things had become a lot more awkward, and she really wished things could just return to before. Kaede being uncertain just didn't suit her in the Caenis's opinion, and the woman had already shown plenty of introspection even before she suffered from memory loss. The fact that the two of them now both had to calm themselves was... well, it made things more difficult than needed.

"Yes, it was. I'm glad to see that you're doing well, but have you managed to recover your memories from before or at least found a clue?"

She followed her friend towards the centre of the town, where the Yladian tried to focus but then showed signs of pain, or at least a negative response to her attempts at concentrating. Mizuki still wasn't very proficient or comfortable with her own magic, but... While Kaede tried to focus she'd feel Mizuki gently placing a hand on her head, the lupine woman also concentrating as her hand began to glow a greenish blue, sending regenerative magic into Kaede's body. Since her friend hadn't given any sign of it being serious Mizuki didn't pour too much energy into it, and since Kaede was clearly focusing on something once she thought she'd helped enough she wandered about a bit to see if she could find any clues herself.

Activating her Investigation Mode one eye glowed an icy blue and the other a warm golden, the wolfess twitching her nose and swivelling her ears as she spiralled outwards away from Kaede, studying every part of this part of the town which could possibly give a clue towards what was happening here and, by extension, the rest of Western Astorea. Kaede was most likely searching for magic and the like, given how focused she was on her meditation, so Mizuki would take care of the physical searching, looking for signs or runes or any other abnormalities.

Given what was going on her best theory on what might be the cause was that some kind of ancient curse had been unleashed farther to the west and now it had spread far enough to reach all the way over here... But in that case Kaede should be able to sense it if she was indeed doing the magical investigating. If there was something closer by that was draining everything Mizuki would hopefully be able to pick up traces of it, or maybe footsteps which led to a strange direction like, say, outside of town. She doubted that, since from what she'd heard and seen so far it was a rather uniform expansion from the west towards the east, so most likely it was one big effect.

Although whatever the real cause was she doubted she and Kaede could handle it on their own. Something which messed with the world on this large a scale wasn't something two players could take care of: the best they could do was try their best to figure out just what was going on and make sure that the rest of the players were informed, so they could try to think of something they all together could do. Which would require the Lions and the Aristocrats to stop bickering...

Hearing Kaede yell out, sounding more angry than surprised, Mizuki looked up and moved back towards her good friend, tilting her head to the side as she gave a questioning look.

"Did you get anything? And what was just getting good?"

Given how the Yladian was blushing she had an inkling of an idea, which promptly made her wonder if she wanted to make Kaede actually say it out loud. They were kinda busy so they couldn't afford to distract themselves. Deciding against it Mizuki resumed her searching for any physical signs of what was going on beyond the faded impression everything was giving, although she didn't stray too far from Kaede just in case.

The group's investigation would conintue for only a few more minutes before they all could tell...

    something...

Was about to go horribly wrong...

The depths did not take kindly to all these tresspassrs it seemed.

It preferred for it's food to stay in blissful ignorance

Ignorance was both a wonderful blessing and terrible sin...

Their conversation would be cut to a end. Any chance of doing much exploring would be put to a halt. The massive quake that caused splits in the earth all around them was now the star of the moment. Fog rose from the massive crevice in the distance as the sky itself turned black. The cracks in the earth shot steam that stank of something grotesque and ancient. It stopped for a moment. Only a moment...

Before the hump of 'something' began to rise out of the Canyon. It was so dark and covered in fog that there was no way to fully make it out and it probably was better that way. Everyone felt their mana, no their very souls burning as if something was looking into them and licking it's lips at the morsels that had come so deep into it's claimed land. Their real life selves would begin to sweat heavily while wearing the dive equipment they used. A sense of fear swept over them. The weaker they were, the worse they felt.

Then came another tremor. This one brought with it...

Tendrils. Tendrils that burst from the cracks and towered above the party, Each were extremely thick, like a army of squirming writhing towers of deep purple. They came out of cracks leading all the way to the Naryu. The air carried no sound beyond the cracking earth. Luckily for the party, they were spread out and were seemingly unfocused on the small humans in their midst. Rather they were wiggling into the air and everything began to gray that much faster. Trees melted into goop. The ground turned to sand. The air became difficult to breathe.

A single enormous tendril rose up before the party and...

    The party were given notice.

    They were recognized as prey.

  6. _____Kaede would have just left, of all the things she had to deal with, of all the stupid visions THIS was the one she walked into today!? Slowly rising Kaede’s face turned dark, her fist clenching slowly as the events happen in reality and not simply future sight. Like hell she would back down if something tried to kill her, slowly looking up to the nearest tentacle Kaede growled and calmly reached for her dagger, hand moving her dress before she cut it quickly into a short skirt and inhaled.

”YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME! I’ll explain later, first this shit needs to die!”

~~Kaede pointed her dagger and lifted her gaze to show her face almost entirely crimson once again as she growled and kept shouting.~~

”I’M NOT GOING TO HAVE YOU RUIN TENTACLE HENTAI FOR ME DAMN IT! YOU HEAR ME!”

_____If it heard her or not it truly did not matter to Kaede as she regained her composure for the most part and rushed strait at her target. Dagger impaling and twisting without delay and in numerous spots as Kaede did everything in her power to get rid of the oversized annoyance that ruined her imagination of tentacle hentai. Sure it was big and thick but sometimes it was not just needing to be THAT oversized!

”If you want to run Mizuki you can while I distract it, But this ruined something pure to my heart with it’s existence and It needs to pay!”

_____It was almost like gibberish was being spoken from Kaede, but as she quickly bolted around each target and stabbed it full of shallow holes it was clear this creature was going to pay for existing even if only minor and at the cost of Kaede’s life. Spinning her weapon and tossing to her other hand kaede kept her full on attack, she was furious under the surface and as her eyes flickered darker color she was mostly ready to fight a true fight against the enemy.

  7. Mizuki had certainly been wondering about what kind of strange event was causing this place to fade away, but of all her thoughts an eldritch god from beyond the veil wasn't amongst them. Yet all those tentacles which were erupting from the ground accompanied by tremors certainly didn't leave a lot of uncertainty on just what might be responsible for this... Unless this area had earned itself the reward of most unfortunate place in the entirety of Terrasphere as two completely independent forces beyond mortal ken were trying to destroy it. Since that was unrealistic, Mizuki stuck with the idea that there was something underground which was responsible both for the fading and the tentacles.

Hearing Kaede's screams Mizuki nearly laughed somewhat hysterically from the sheer absurdity. Here they were faced with something as monstrous as an eldritch old god, and her friend was yelling something about tentacle hentai. She wasn't sure if she should be happy that her friend was still able to focus on such things or if she should be worried about Kaede's sense of priorities and her sanity.

"I'm not going to run, but I think we have to talk afterwards about topics such as what is pure and what isn't, and how to prioritize."

Mizuki didn't mean to sound like she was scolding Kaede, but honestly she was seriously bothered by this new enemy they were suddenly facing. Game or not this kind of thing was hard to just shrug off when the virtual world was so real that you could feel the ground under your feet shake and the wind blasting against you as the giant monstrous tendrils trashed around and pushed the wind in every direction with their wild and unnatural movements.

Well, only one way of dealing with this. Going on all fours the Lupi growled as she prepared herself to get really angry. Anger was a great way to get rid of hesitation and fear so one could focus completely on combat, and right now above anything she needed to avoid hesitating. Charging towards the tentacle she ripped into it with one clawed hand, then another as she quickly began to attack the base of the tentacle with a relentless barrage of attacks, the dark steel that tipped her fingers looking even darker than usual as the tentacles had already sucked away all the light that would otherwise have been reflected off of them.

There were too many tentacles for them to take care of all of them, but right now they had to try and destroy this one which was threatening them directly before it actually managed to kill them. So far they'd had the advantage of it being big and ominous but not exactly fast, but Mizuki didn't want to know what would happen if it actually managed to hit them... with how big it was it could probably kill both her and Kaede in one slam which would leave them broken splatters on the cracking ground.

  8. _____It would not be a real fight unless the enemy fought back correct? Kaede’s vision splitting into layers of almost transparent images, countless attack routes and ways to evade while staying close to return attacks. Body turning slowly and weapon moving outward as one of the tentacles swung for Kaede’s side getting a decent gash in exchange for sending Kaede into the air. Eyes darting around quickly as she adjusted in the air and reached to her right, oddly enough seeming to instinctively know a sign would be there for her to grab hold of and ease her landing. A smile across her face as she rushed forward.

”So that is the route of events for this fight, let’s see how far off i might be this time...”

_____once more seeming to speak rather oddly, it was a bad habit if Kaede was far more focused on something else to refrain from the dislodged speech as if she was reliving events, sadly that was how she felt most times as he body swayed avoiding every attack if only to have them clip her clothing and slightly tear away what she was wearing. If not for the fact many of the routes she had seen with her magic resulted in death she would have loved to have some fun and see what the tentacles could do.

_____Frame spinning around as she narrowly dodged another tentacle and her eyes darted quickly in their sockets. Endless piles of information rushing into her mind and a desperate struggle to keep them organized and use it to her advantage. Ducking down and quickly flipping once another tentacle tried to strike her down Kaede landed on another and stabbed into it, the creature violently trying to throw kaede off who seemed to know exactly how to balance herself to keep steady.

_____In it’s desperate attempt to get Kaede away it tried going upward, but as gravity took effect on Kaede’s body the dagger cut across the tendril before the attacking, rather scarcely dressed Kaede kicked off and landed calmly as three other tendrils slammed around her. This fight was almost boring to Kaede as she took the moment to clean her dagger and ducked to avoid a swinging tentacle from behind her. A quick smile to Mizuki before she pointed towards a doorway.

”Best to avoid that door, or duck in about two, three minutes I think? I can’t remember the exact time that door becomes an issue or for who… Oh and I do have my priorities straight!”

_____Kaede puffed her cheeks up towards her friend while jumping to avoid another tendril, an annoyed spin around as she slammed her dagger into the skin and twisted to calm down a bit. The fight was going well so far, but there was always that bloody low chance kaede made a vital miscalculation on her astral magic visions. Hopefully though, this would not be one of them. Flipping forward and rolling right Kaede kept her defensive evasion up, but seemed to slip on her attacks to avoid getting whacked.

  9. While Kaede was busy dodging and weaving, letting herself get thrown around occasionally to get herself into a favourable position, MIzuki had a much more direct approach to this fight: full frontal assault. She didn't have Kaede's foresight nor was she aware that was what the woman was using, instead relying purely on her physical prowess and the rage that was slowly building inside of her.

With Kaede keeping the smaller tentacles busy by proving herself to be a much more difficult to hit target than you would expect the Caenis was going to town on the big tentacle, her claws flashing again and again as her attacks only appeared to be going faster and faster, sharp metal digging into the... fleshy substance that the tentacles were made out of, tearing it away piece by piece as if the lupine woman was planning to dig herself a tunnel straight through the tentacle... and honestly she wasn't even sure if that was her plan or not. All she knew was that she was planning to make this thing go down, and the faster the better.

It wasn't like all of the smaller tendrils of whatever eldritch monstrosity buried beneath the earth completely ignored Mizuki, but Kaede was drawing a lot of their attention by moving about a lot, and those who did get close didn't accomplish a lot as even in her flurry the Lupi seemed to have enough awareness of her surroundings that the moment one got close she'd lash out at it instead of the big tentacle, ripping out chunks of its disgusting substance or just tearing parts of it straight off. Beyond that Mizuki was also armoured a lot better than Kaede, making her a less appealing overall together with the fact that she was absolutely relentless in clawing everything that came close, and not in a playful manner.

Her eyes were narrow and her fangs were bared as the world felt like it was slowing down, fitting as it had already faded to a muted grey thanks to this otherworldly monster. She'd spent days, days and yet more days practising her hunting and her hand-to-hand skills, she had bought a very expensive looking set of claws which definitely had been worth it, something which she could only have afforded after already having trained enough for her skills to be respectable. This was the first time she was really letting loose, not just trying to play it carefully or prioritizing stealth and surprise attacks. No, this time she was going to keep striking until either she or her target was dead, she was going to push herself to the limit and see just how far her training had gotten her.

Hearing Kaede's commentary the wolfwoman at first only growled, using her ears to follow Kaede as her dear friend kept moving about. It was only after she'd torn another smaller tentacle that was trying to smash the small of her back that she gave an actual reply.

"If the fight lasts that long we've already messed up... And should you really be thinking about your porn when we're fighting the tendrils of some kind of eldritch god that sucks the life out of the world?"

She sounded a lot less composed than usual, snarling as she didn't even pause her attacks as she spoke, yelling with a harsh voice to make sure Kaede heard her even amidst the chaotic fight against these highly flexible appendages rising from the earth like unusually supple purple stalks. Honestly the fact that the colour of these things was still so strong when everything else had already faded away made it even worse, since it gave the impression that the tentacles were the only real thing left...

  10. ”I don’t think they want a blow job right now Mizuki, but you might be able to ask them later?~ I’d love to watch if you don’t mind it, oh maybe a three way, what say you tentacle?”

_____Kaede turned to one of the tentacles, her frame moving to stick her butt out just enough so a tentacle would slap it and cause her to laugh, jumping backwards and spinning Keade smiled happily and kissed the tip of the tentacle while eyeing Mizuki before cutting it off with flourished movements and landing calmly, hands adjusting her short skirt to cover her slightly revealed ass.

”Taste like chicken and… I don’t know the other flavor i tasted… blood? Think it was blood… WAIT DID YOU JUST SMACK MY ASS HARD ENOUGH TO MAKE IT BLEED!?”

_____Kaede tried to check her butt before she reached to double check, moving her hand to see blood her almost joking expression and heavy blush turned sour and her hair seemed to flare up from temper and minor forced berserk mode. Her body rushing strait for the nearest tendril before stabbing it rapidly and growling, her free hand ripping at each hole she made to further wound the creature.

”YOU FUCKING PURPLE THICK SHIT! THE ONLY PEOPLE ALLOWED TO SPANK MY AS THAT HARD ARE MY S AND M PARTNERS! FORGET FUCKING YOU AS SORRY FOR STABBING YOU, IM GOING TO FUCKING RIP YOU A GODDAMN NEW ONE AND SHOVE WHAT I CUT OFF UP YOUR FUCKING NEW HOLE!”

_____Kaede was unhinged, eyes flaring with rage as she rushed forward stabbing everything in her path and ripping away at anything else with her free hand. By the time she reached the once mentioned door it broke open, a tendril slamming into and impaling kaede’s empty arm and taking her along for a ride while she stabbed and cut away at the assailant. At some point even resorting to bite and spit a piece of it out as she growled and evenly got free.

”I’m not fucking done with you yet, get back here!”

_____Kaede crouched down picking up a chunk of the monster they had been fighting and rushed after a retreating tendril waving it around and stabbing anything that tried to attack her for chasing after a different part of the creature’s body. Frame rolling out of a quickly moving tendril before she got back to sprinting after her main focus with countless tendrils trying to stop the crazy woman who seemed to have lost a screw or two as her berserk mastery took over, to be honest it was almost the same as a very hammered Kaede, expect replacing her desire for another woman with sheer rage and numerous cuss words.

  11. "I SAID THEY SUCK THE LIFE OUT OF THE WORLD, NOT ME."

Mizuki yells this even as her golden eye begins to darken and turn orange. her expression becoming even more furious than before as her attacks became wilder. Until now she had been attacking ferociously but with precision, constantly hitting the same spot on the big tentacle to add each tear and rip into one big and deep wound. Now her attacks were becoming less concentrated, hitting whatever part of her enemy happened to be the easiest to hit at the moment... And with the enemy being so big and stuck in place that meant there was a lot of places for her clawed hands to go.

While Kaede was playing with the tentacle only to get mad when she realized that the thing wasn't returning her playful attitude the Caenis was growling and snarling, her fur bristling as she began to strike so fast that her hands began to blur, making it a challenge for anyone to track her movements as any small tentacle that got close to her was torn off and the big tentacle was beginning to show the effects of the constant and merciless barrage, a huge chunk of its base having been worn away by numerous claw strikes.

As her hair and fur became wilder and her expression more furious her golden eye now went from orange to a vibrant red, glowing fiercely as her icy blue eye glowed as well, a moon of ice and a moon of blood. Her grimace turned into a different expression even if the amount of bared teeth and fangs remained the same, the corners of her mouth going up until she had a bloodthirsty grin on her face. Her black and white hair and fur only made her appearance wilder, swirling around and sticking together in large spiky strands.

"Come on, try harder! Did you think that just being big would make you scary?"

It looked like Mizuki had reached some kind of frenzy during her relentless assault, probably aided by the fact that even though she was attacking literally anything that got near her she still couldn't defend against all the tentacles at the same time, with numerous wounds having covered her body even if she had managed to avoid any serious injuries and was barely feeling the pain, instead just feeling a familiar fire running through her veins.

"Is this all? I thought I'd finally get to cut loose for once and all I get is this mindless mess? You can't even feel fear or fury, how are you supposed to put up a decent fight?!"

Around Mizuki the ground was covered in chunks and pieces of the tentacles that she'd destroyed in her increasingly mad rampage. The big tentacle had already a big gaping hole on it, and Mizuki was practically digging herself a path straight through, grabbing huge chunks of the tentacle mass and digging into it with the metal claws attached to her fingers before pulling with inhuman strength, instead of relying on the sharpness of her weapons brutally separating bigger and bigger parts of the tentacle.

"IF YOU CAN'T EVEN FIGHT FALL DOWN WEAKLING! WE'RE HERE TO HUNT AND YOU'RE IN THE WAY!"

Around Mizuki the air appeared to shimmer, her body covered in a purple-bluish smoke-like aura that streaked behind her as she struck out again and again.

  12. _____Watching Mizuki also seem to snap Kaede regained herself, frame dipping down as all her anger just seemed to vanish as she slowed down and did a rather needed backflip over another tendril blinking a few times while watching Mizuki. She found it both hot and slightly unnerving, the way her friend was at the moment shrugging Kaede threw the chunk of tendril at the largest target before rushing towards her friend. Her eyes reading rather numerous attack patterns that almost discouraged Kaede’ plan, key word being almost. It was likely the dumbest thing Kaede could think of at the moment, but she felt it just might work and figured why not.

_____Frame weaving around attacks as she got closer to Mizuki, sure one or two might hit her maybe three but unless it was fatel she just kept moving closer until Kaede, well did something only Kaede would think to do in the middle of a fight. Free hand open, and one long and tender massage of Mizuki’s right breast while the hand holding Kaede’s dagger drew back and she glanced at Mizuki’s prime target, and well her own that she was fighting every so often but beside the point as she inhaled.

”By the power invested into me by this lovely woman, I SMITE YOU TENTACLE, YOU SHALL NOT PENETRATE A WOMAN… AGAIN… TODAY OR EVERAFTER!~”

_____Letting go of mizuki if she did manage to get hold that was and lunging forward full speed. Dagger held forward cutting the air like butter before it sank into a sensed weak point and dug further, deeper, and honestly grossing Kaede out as she managed to push it hard enough to make a hole and fall into it landing on the other side of the tendril facing Mizuki. Slowly looking down to notice she was only in a bra and taters of her panties Kaede calmly got a spare outfit from her UI and smiled to her friend.

It would seem that the duo were doing well against this unknown creature from the depths. As they were able to cause one tendril to wither and disintegrate. It left behind no blood, no smell. It simply ceased to be.

That ONE tendril ceased to be.

The others were now approaching in mass as the shadowing being in the distance began to radiate a dim light. More tentacles many protruding large spikes began to burst from the earth. Distortions of some untold magic began to gather in the skies above as Kaede and Ueno would feel their strength being drained. Kaede in particular suddenly felt as if she was placed in a small box. She felt constrained. trapped in a small world with no air. Checking the UI would show that something was leeching all of their health meters away simply by being in it's vicinity. The monsters threat level would not even register. Only showing jumbled data in place of the normal color indicator. Now with no tendrils immediately in range to attack...

It was a good time to leave this place for now...

  14. While Mizuki was primarily focused on trying to rip the giant tentacle to pieces she did notice when Kaede was getting closer, and in her bloodthirsty state she had difficulty distinguishing between friends and foes (mostly because she wasn't seeing anyone as friend). The result was that when Kaede got close enough Mizuki began to swipe at her as well, still prioritizing the tentacle even as she tries to keep the Yladian from getting too close. (Un)fortunately trying to take on the tentacle and Kaede at the same time was a bit too much to ask even with her hand-to-hand prowess, eventually giving her friend an opening to slip through and... essentially grope her.

Under normal circumstances this would have caused Mizuki to be startled and embarrassed, breaking her concentration and leaving her vulnerable. Under current circumstances, however, there was too much adrenaline rushing through her and she simply growled at Kaede while pushing her aside, charging back into the tentacle to finish the job even as her friend did the same.

"Not the time for that you horny elf! This mindless spineless shit is first!"

Whether Mizuki was completely aware of how crude she was being right now was up to debate, but there was no denying that she was a wholly different person than normal. With Kaede managing the finishing blow she watched as the tentacle disappeared without a trace, howling her victory before more bad news showed the two of them that what they had achieved was in fact very minor.

They had gone through all that effort to destroy a single tentacle. One tentacle which had done its best to kill them, but they had managed to rip apart before it could do so. It had felt like a real achievement, but looking at the field of tentacles that was still spreading in every direction. They were getting closer, and it looked like this time they wouldn't have the good fortune to be ignored by most of them. Still, these things were big and dangerous but not very fast...

MIzuki winced as she began to feel her very life get drained away. There was something big there, really big... too big for it to make sense even in a world with magic. Some aberration which denied all reason and logic. While in her berserkergang Mizuki was a fight-hungry brawler but that didn't mean she lost all her capacity for rational thought, and aside from that she also had some good instincts earned from fighting a lot ever since coming into this world. Staring at the strange humongous thing in the distance, that thing she couldn't see because it was covered in some shadow-like fog, she hissed in annoyance even as her breathing became more laboured.

"Not worth dying to that. We'll have to figure out how to kill that later."

With that said she grabbed Kaede by her collar and began to run, away from the tentacles, the draining of their health and the faded world. Carrying Kaede meant she could only use three of her limbs for running, but she still made good speed as the two of them quickly covered ground. It had taken a good while to get here originally, but Mizuki had come from the other side of the country and she hadn't been going as fast as possible back then. While she couldn't completely leave the grey area in one mad dash she certainly could go far enough away that once she was out of breath they could take a breather and then continue running without having to fear getting overtaken by the tentacles. She hoped. She wasn't sure how far those things could reach and how far the eldritch area would expand.

Once she could no longer force herself to keep running because of fatigue she dropped Kaede onto the ground, panting heavily and sinking to the ground herself as her drained health bar finally forcibly made itself felt. Gripping at her own chest where her heart was she let out several pained gasps, her bloodlust disappearing as she instead had to fight a panic attack as it all caught up to her.

    "What... What was... that?"

Even talking was a challenge right now, as her lungs complained every time she took a mouthful of air. Being drained like that was somehow a much more painful experience than simply being wounded in battle. Although all those wounds she had incurred fighting the giant tentacle weren't making it any easier...
