  1. Mana coalesced around Megan as she stepped through her portal. Lightly fingering the hidden vial in her pocket, she withheld a smirk. While it was true the adventure hadn't ended the way she had anticipated, she had somehow achieved some of her goals. The primary of which took the form of a dark mist pouring through her portal, forming into a ball before her. She wasn't sure exactly the nature of the mist, but she knew it smelled of the same madness that Vermilion seemed to ooze. The portal had led her directly to Mistress Vermilion's castle, a large building that sometimes bathed in a red sun. Sadly, Megan had quite a bit of ways to walk in from the plateau she had teleported too. Normally she could transport herself directly into the corridor but the pitched battle she had run from had left her little room for thought.

With a sigh, she extended her hand, allowing the dark orb to descend into an open palm. She'd have to walk the rest of the distance sadly, but it would give her time to reflect on the events that had proceeded. Using her staff as a walking stick she pushed onward into the eriee frontier, heading for the castle gates, lost in thought.

She had of course come to the bandit king's hideout under orders of the Aristocracy. The plan to kill Zeus was albeit a much higher stepping stone than she had anticipated but she had assumed it was within her powers. That said, it wasn't the only reason she had come here. She was informed of the gathering of dark energy as well, and with Vermilion, her orders always took paramount. So when the group had dissolved into pointless bickering on the verge of backstabbing she could tell that her first objective had been lost. Still, she wondered how the group had fared. Did Vivan end up betraying the group as she had predicted? Did Endilix manage to bull rush everyone into a disastrous plan that'd see them all killed? Sadly, there was no way to know for sure.

That made things a little awkward, as if they did manage to kill Zeus, did that mean Megan would still receive her pay? Granted she may, or may not have stolen the poison, replacing it with a poor substitute the night before, thereby interfering with the plans, but if they managed still shouldn't she be included. It was then a thought dawned on her, the bandit king never paid her. "God @#@#!"
