1. The dock was a study in commotion. Men shouted, to each other, at each other, as they shouldered their way down the narrow paths. Many faces held the tell-tale signs of native Falderens, but foreigners made up their own eclectic population - a handful of colorful sprinkles in an otherwise uniform batter. They wore different clothes, spoke different languages, but all kept that same sense of urgency. The harbor was a place of business, that was without question.

And that was why Magdalyn was there, though her business had nothing to do with fish. Rather, she was responding to a plea for help from a one Gerard Plaxton. Though very little information had been provided, there was mention of a private island, and sizable compensation. It was true, Mags was hoping to save up for a plot of her own land, but it was the mystery that grabbed her. Who was Mr. Plaxton? Why did he own his own island? What did he need help with? Would she be killing pests, or gardening? Did sizable compensation involve relaxing on his private beach?

The sleek schooner slid into sight, slicing the still water as if it provided no resistance at all. The sails, pregnant with air, billowed stark-white agains the cloudless blue sky. Even if the arrival had not been so impressive, Mags would have recognized the ship as important - it undoubtedly cost twice as much as any other vessel in the vicinity.

"That must be it," the woman mused aloud, climbing to her feet. She had been sitting, cross legged, atop a nearby hill. This vantage point allowed her to observe without getting in the way. Now that she knew where the schooner would be docking, it would be easier to navigate there without upsetting any NPCs. Consumed entirely by their work, they were never pleased to see a spear-wielding player simply wandering about.

A man in a well-tailored suit strode from the ship at the same time that a well-trained crew began to secure it. Magdalyn was waiting for him. He carried himself with an air that was stuffy, bordering on self-important. Though she stood a full head taller than the stranger, he still managed to look down his beakish nose at her.

Still, she schooled her expression into one of polite ease. "Good morning," she began. "You must be Mr. Plaxton."

"No," the man answered, his voice doing nothing to change her original impression of him. His words were clipped short, as if to avoid wasting any more time on them than necessary. "Mr. Plaxton would not travel to a place like this. I am his assistant."

No name, then, Magdalyn thought. Interesting. "Well, I'm Magdalyn. Most people just call me Mags."

"Magdalyn." He spoke with such finality that the girl knew he would never, ever use her nickname. "Yes. We will be leaving for Mr. Plaxton's island just as soon as our second arrives."

Mags' eyes widen, the golden ring shimmering with excitement and reflected sunlight. "Oh! Someone else is coming? Who?" The concept of joining another player intrigued her. She had joined Terrasphere to make friends, after all.

But if Mr. No-Name heard her, he gave no indication. Mags merely planted the butt of her spear in the ground, leaned against it, and gazed expectantly across the bustling crowd.

  5. img "Gah! I'm lost, I'm lost!?" A flailing arm of ferocity wasn't sure where he was headed. This place was a dock right? The guy he had to meet must have been some sort of fisherman or boat owner? But where?! Where dammit!? These guys all looked the same, at least to a newbie like him. "Oh! If I focus I can see their names above their heads, right?" And so he started to do so, examining individual one by one.

None of them were this Plaxton guy. Come to think of it he hadn't been told the location of where they were to meet, but he was told Plaxton's would be arriving by ship. So the dock was the best place to look! And so in a hurry did the green-armored knight traverse. Leaping, gliding, and side-stepping out of the way of the working men. Though, along the way, he did steal an piece of fish from a nearby cart. The fish had been well-cooked and thus he began to wine and dine upon making his way toward the dock.

As he reached the arriving ship he'd seen a man adorning a nicely made tailored suit. Peaking the youth's interest, Leoknight would swallow the remaining leftovers of his fish whole and came to an abrupt halt before the duo. "Mm-yo!" Leoknight stated chewing the remains of the leftover fish. He was in heaven right now and it showed upon his face as he placed both the palm of his hands upon cheeks. "So good...Ah! Leoknight here, reporting to assist you Mr.Plaxton!" Leoknight spoke to the NPC with a salute, but then it hadn't caught his attention until he saw from the corner of his eye an intriguing woman.

"Ah...Hey! Neat weapon! I'm guessing you're a player, haha!" Woah, this gal was pretty tall; practically model height. He wondered if, behind her avatar, if there resided a guy or a cute girl behind it. Regardless the woman looked strong and compared to his skill level she most likely had more to teach him then he her. "I can't wait to become good friends along this quest, haha!" The hyperactive male stated.

  6. Magdalyn decided that this man could not have made a more dramatic entrance if he had ridden in on a wrecking ball, naked, Miley Cyrus-style.

Gnawing on a fish, saluting the NPC, greeting the man as easily as if they were old friends? And when he turned those wide, eager eyes on her, she could practically feel the excitement rolling off him in waves. It was as contagious as a broad grin or rolling laugh. When he declared that he was excited about making friends, Magdalyn was no longer able to contain her smile.

"Player?" the NPC echoed, his narrow eyes narrowing further.

The question snapped Mags back to reality. "Just a figure of speech," she assured the crotchety man. She looked over the man's head, and winked toward Leoknight to let him know she understood perfectly. The people native to Terrasphere, however, could not comprehend the thought of games and players. It mostly just worked to confuse and infuriate them.

Next, she addressed Leoknight. It was difficult to tell his skill level, though based on his lower-level gear, she deduced he was somewhat new to the game. That was perfectly fine with her. She would take a friendly newbie over a bitter veteran any day of the week. "Great to have you. I'm Magdalyn, though most people call me Mags. I'm excited to get to know you better, too!"

Their NPC escort gave an irritated click of his tongue. "If you're finished," he began tartly, "we shall continue. I would not like to keep Mr. Plaxton waiting."

Oh yeah. Leoknight had called the suit-wearing man Mr. Plaxton. "This isn't the man who hired us," she explained to him. "This is... his, assistant. We'll meet Mr. Plaxton later, I guess!"

A sideways glance toward the NPC revealed no confirmation, and he simply motioned to the waiting schooner.

"All aboard, then," Mags concluded. She smile, and mimicked the man's gesture. "After you," she told Leoknight.
