    Crimson Underdark

img The ancient forgotten underworld of Norfova. While the surface of this cursed, barren wasteland was dangerous itself. The true threats were what lied beneath the ravaged surface. Few ventured to the Underdark, as no known entrances to bring one to this layer have been discovered by adventurers yet. There is one group of individuals however, that have been a portion of this place for their own training regimens.

    Vermillion's 'Treasures'.

Using a connection established long ago between the manor and this red labyrinth. Vermillion has frequently sent her followers here to train themselves, get used to working together and also as a form of punishment. As there is no water, and nothing is edible without suffering extreme illness afterwards. Being forced to stay here for days and fight Blood Cursed Beasts, while needing to reach a predisclosed destination is a feat that can be lethal.

If one cannot succeed. For how much Vermillion dotes on the useful, those who are not are quick to vanish.

In a odd turn of events. Someone who was not exactly a treasure but still considered potentially useful was chosen to undertake this challenge. @Nyx was seen as someone who can follow orders for power. Vermillion would give Tenebris the opportunity to guide Nyx through the Crimson Underdark. This was also a test of Tenebris' maturing into a proper Treasure rather than the wild card she was often seen as due to her instability. With Treasures like ABC, that was not a positive thing.

Not that Tenebris really cared much about being useful or not.

Materializing into the crimson cavern. Tenebris let go of Nyx's hand The only known way in or out of here was through the roses ability to connect to the manor. So, it was necessary to touch another in order to take them to and fro.

"It's been awhile since I've been here. Red as hell right...?"

She glanced sideways at Nyx with a smirk and summoned her bow as she talked. Slowly walking onward all the while.

"Hehehe... You just wanna get right to it though. ,right? You aren't much of a talker. Which I like, better to just get right to healing if nothing else is in the way. But gotta do Red Fang's stuffs. It's a long way to get out of here. You're going to suffer soooo much❤. Let's see... what was the goal point again? Oh yeah! Hehehe... a torch was left down here by someone. We grab it, we're done. Somewhere in this big grand place hehehehe. So which way to go...?"

Tenebris rubbed her chin in thought while her eyes glanced around hoping to see some exploding buggies or something fun to interrupt her. Too much quiet was something Tenebris really disliked.

    Nyx

_____Nyx’s death had done a toll on her mentally, sure some days she could fight it, some days she could smile and feel like everything was the same old way. But then there was the days she couldn’t, the burning deep inside her tainting heart, mind and soul. There was so much wrong and nobody could save her, nobody should, she did not want some prince in shining armor. She wanted blood, nothing more. As the two seemed to appear within the crimson landscape Nyx’s mind began to crack to the instability within. A small chuckle, a few clicks of her tongue as she gazed around the area.

    ”Whatever…”

_____Crimson eyes scanned the area around her, the same color as her eyes and blood. Nails tapping her knives, the light clicking growing in rhythm as she walked forward. Maybe this place was simply soaked with so much blood it became something akin to the nourishment it had. Blood that Nyx herself could not get now… The thought causing her nails to sease movement, her frame to freeze as she glared at the red rocks before her.

”Always more… No need to lose my temper just yet, isn’t that right?~”

_____Nyx slowly spun towards Tenebris, her eyes showing a tale. Her mind if it was made of gears, changed paths. They did not click the same way anymore like when they had met and seemed to be straining greatly to simply stay together. Spinning back to the direction she had once faced before moving her arms behind her back and lightly clicking her tongue again. The sound was almost matching water dripping into a pool, or rather Blood in the mind of Nyx.

_____She saw the world differently since her death, her crimson eyes saw something not truly there. Blood, pooled and splattered all around her. Hand reaching out to the nothingness only she saw, she wanted to see it truely, to feel it over her pale fingers. Nyx wanted to watch people give her their blood, creatures also. She needed it so much more than them afterall, it was only fair they gave it to her.

______Fingers slowly grasping into a fist as Nyx stopped clicking her tongue once more and resumed scanning the area. This place was almost soothing with it’s color, but she wanted the real deal. Time would likely give her just that, however for the moment Nyx was simply needing to enjoy what she had. Nails puncturing her palm as she watched the crimson liquid pool.

    ”Shall we get moving then?~”

    But moving where?

The Crimson Underdark was a massive complex of caverns, after all, and many a lesser adventurer have had the misfortune of losing their bearings and dying not only due to the hungering beasts within, but also to starvation, dehydration, fear. Such an inglorious end was not a concern for those blessed with the rose, of course, but to retreat empty-handed was terror in and of itself. A single magic torch to be found in a myriad of caverns, a myriad of paths?

    What an unreasonable difficult task.

Already, the howls of hungering beasts could be heard, echoing through distant tunnels, a primal cycle of murder, consumption, and death. Already, they could feel the uncommon pressure of a faint curse worming its way into their bodies, prepared to infect them like the rest of the destitute demons of Norfova. Already, they could sense the presence of predators lurking in the dark, mad beasts that cared more for a bite of flesh than their own lives.

Already, she could hear Jojo’s yipyaps. Already, she could feel the warmth of her brother’s hand.

Already, she could hear the whip’s crack. Already, she could feel the biting ice of another mock interrogation.

    Already, already, already.

Already, they were in the clutches of a fiend so much more malicious than the basic monsters that lurked in shadows, so much more sinister than mere tooth and fang.

But where was it? The torch? The tormentor?

A sadist of a monster lurks in the caverns, drawing out memories better left buried. Seek it out and destroy it, or stay on task and find the torch. But be warned. Both tasks are equally difficult, and one's mind, no matter how strong, how broken, can only last so long under psychic duress.

For extra spice, just add dice~

  4. img "....Hehehe. Yeah, let's get moving. Nothing's going to happen but staring at your boring face if stay here. Let's go have some fun with this."

It was rare really. Tenebris didn't dislike or like Nyx to any extremes. If anything, she may lean on the like side if just because the shorter girl (shorter... how rare WAS that?!) played much closer to the way Tenebris preferred than most others. Their first meeting was them trying to kill each other after all. So... what better love was there?

No need for hugs, sweet talk, lies, and other crap.

Just what mattered, Grief, despair, failure.

Tenebris could get behind that! Seriously!

Still, that made something like this dangerous for their health at a practical viewpoint. Since being so aggressive and kill first ask questions later mentality might just lead to them not finishing this little Red Fang assignment and curing each other with wounds instead. As much as she wanted to, Tenebris resisted and acted as the teacher for this.

How ironic that the one like her is supposed to help another progress.... urgh.

The two ventured onward through the red expanse. Stalagmites filled this area. Tenebris' red gaze swept back and forth in front of her as she awaited something, anything to shoot at. She he stifled a yawn. Gee whiz.. this place was boring when the beasties were asleep.

"So...you have any fun while we were apart? I never got a chance to save you myself but this game does a preeetty good job of doing that on it's own. Hehehe... hmmm?"

....A feeling swept over her. It was familiar. Like what had hit her recently during a mission.

Thoughts she had forgotten. Thoughts she wanted to forget. She halted in place.

Not this again, was that ALL she encountered were thingy's that wanted her to thing about being that dope?! URGH!

"This never... happened before.... here....What? My brother barely ever did anything for me! He isn't worth anything but pain! Which is awesome! So shut up! Hehehe...wowzers, is this a dolly? That won't.... work twice."

If it had not just happened recently. Tenebris may have exploded much worse but she retained control for now...

After all, she could not see the enemy so who was there to heal here? ...Nyx? That noob had no such abilities, but her urge to shoot something did just go up a great deal... and that's saying something.

    Nyx

_____Nyx had no reason to explain what happen to her to Magi. It was none of the girl’s business and she intended to keep it that way as began searching for this ‘torch’ the two had to find. Nyx did not think that was exactly much of a task, but she was no stranger to the fact that even the easiest sounding things could be extremely difficult to find. It was all a matter if this was such a case or not. Frame moving, hand clicking the metal in her sleeves with her nails before her head rang.

_____Her mind slamming her with past events, the annoying chime of a bell as she looked down at a dog. Each time the bell chimed and she did not kill the creature she would feel the sheer pain of the whip lashing her back, even in her memory that pain still caused her to fall to her knees and try to hold her back. Time after time she refused to harm the dog on other’s command, anger building as the memory ended. Nyx’s focus zeroed in on the surrounding, something here dare to bring her past back up of that damn place.

”Where is it? The first blood to spill?~”

_____Nyx slowly moved her head to the side as she spoke, a twisted smile on her face before she laughed faintly and flicked her wrist. Knives poking out of her sleeves to clearly show she was not amused by having her past show up more then she already had it happen, most times when she heard the bell after it faded. But hearing it before clearly let her know something was toying with them, and in Nyx’s mind the only one who could toy with something was her.

____Frame moving at the same speed as she scanned the area, Hands moving in front of her as she began scraping her blade together, sparks and screeching. Nyx was not going to hide from the creature, but she was going to draw it out one way or another, then make sure it was forced a slow death. She would at least give it that for sure.
