  1. I'd be fine with resorting to violence if we had any clue to how they keep coming back and how to stop it. For all we know they can't be killed until the captain's grudge is settled, which happens to be this ship.

  2. Well, based on what Rumbottom said we can assume the story about his treasure being used to buy this ship is true at least... Alright, let's give him the boat. But if he doesn't disappear I'm swimming back here and kicking his butt again.

  3. I don't think Captain Rumbottom and Umber Cucumber are willing to surrender their ship that easily. We need to strike a deal that both Rumbottom and Mango-Leg would want to agree on.

  4. Try to get them to compromise then... But we have to do something or Mango-Leg is gonna just get pissed off and attack us again anyway. You've got this @Corvella. Probably.

  5. Muscle woman just made matters worse for both herself and us. However now we know there's some kind of prophecy that Rumbottom is also aware of but which I don't remember him telling us about. If I know of a way to bring muscle woman with us can we just leave? I'd rather not test the patience of the ghosts too much.

  6. @Ueno Mizuki Can you build a raft using your nature magic? Everyone else should escape... But I can't let them have the ship after what he did.

  7. @Alric Stalwart He stabbed someone who tried to stab him in the back first. Also, if we destroy the ship he might just keep haunting the seas and making ships disappear.

I can make a raft yes, but you shouldn't destroy the ship out of spite when what he did would be ruled as self-defense back on Earth even if it was excessive.

  8. That is not self defense. Do you think she ever posed an actual threat to him with a rusty knife when none of us could finish him off with our skills combined?! It's the equivalent of beating up a little kid so don't come to me with that nonsense.

It might lift the curse or it might not. But if this ship is the only thing keeping him here like he says and it no longer exists then he'd have no reason to stay. Plus it'll make me feel better.

  9. ...I'd rather not have an entire argument about this. She could have refrained from attacking as we were talking to the ghost, she didn't, he stabbed her in return. He could have refrained from mortally wounding her, yes that's bad and yes that means he's an ass.

However according to that prophecy thing Rumbottom quoted he needs to sink on an unstolen ship, so if you destroy the ship to keep it out of his hands you're not fulfilling the prophecy because you're going out of your way to ensure he can't have it and he's just going to keep haunting. He might just keep attacking ships until he encounters one where people are willing to surrender their ship in exchange for their lives.

  10. He can have it... I'm just gonna send it to the bottom of the ocean first.

  11. He needs to sink on the ship and if it's already done for when he gets it that doesn't work.

Can't we just give the ship and you try to blow it up after we're at a safe distance?

  12. That works too.

  13. I.. I don't think I have anything to say anymore. We better get going before he takes back his offer, then.
