Intermission Result @Ashnor Ironth The pillar did come up from the ground, but smashed right into your face. The force of the impact sent you over to the side, but not without ruining the pretty face. At least you made it. Subtract 50% HP @Blader X Cubey flapped its wing harder and harder until it accelerated to its maximum potential and spearheaded you through time. You arrived in the world where @Jasper became a sultan and @Aalam Abungu was beheaded. It seemed the world was mourning for Aalam's death now that they have discovered he had come from the same place as their great leader Jasper. Since Aalam seemed like he was single in his life, they decided to mummify you and bury you alive with his corpse so he can make a peaceful transition into the afterlife. Dead @Grand Witch Majolica You succeeded at standing in place without moving at all. It seemed some members of the Witch Op went onto the other side, leaving you behind. @Kaede Hoshi Using your Cosmic Retribution magic, you phased from the plane of existence you are currently in and into space. "Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of Kaede Hoshi, her eternal mission to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before! But, never again will she be back." Dead @Yukisa *You succeeded at terrible fanfiction, using the power of convenient plot device to solve problems. You made it. @Nalla You moved beautifully through the air, so well you managed to catch a random treasure chest before you made a 10/10 landing. The chest is a bit heavy though... @Celestine The air in the chamber was angry, spinning you around in an instantaneously forming tornado, which spit you out on the other side. You tumbled around, feeling like you broke at least a limb or two. Subtract 50% @Destiny Divebird You accidentally fired too early and shot yourself in the foot. Thankfully, some idiot tripped over your rope and took you with him to the other side. Though, you sustained quite a lot of injuries from the entire ordeal. Cycle 2 If you are still alive at this point, you traveled through the long corridor until you reached an area that was wide open. From a brief glance, you see the ceiling gradually slanted upward into a steep incline with various half broken pillars hanging down from it. This chamber was far too big, however, so any attempt you make would require a lot energy, effort, and GUTS! Looking at your foreign surroundings, you instinctively knew that you can get higher by traversing up somehow, someway. You swallowed any emotion you might be feeling at the time and stepped up to the edge where you can continue clearing the level. After a more careful inspection, you discovered two more ways to get further up, though all three appeared to be super dangerous and will likely result in a painful death if you insist on pushing forward. The Broken Pillars These pillars are half broken and hung down from the inclined ceiling. If you somehow managed to get to them you can leap from one to the other and slowly get all the way to the massive balcony located on the floor above. The pillars are thick, however, and may require strong arms and legs to hold onto. The Narrowed Edges The wall seemed to be full of narrowed edges that you can hang from. With enough courage, luck, and nail strength, you can make it all the way to the top. If you fell, you'll survive a full minute or two before you go splat on the ground. The Flag Poles The third way up seems to be a series of horizontal flat poles that protrude from the wall and hanging from flimsy ropes that dangle from the ceiling. Any gymnast would know what to do here, swing from pole to pole or using the hanging poles to swing to other poles and get up that way. What do you do? 100 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN A lot of people died trying to close the gap. Mizuki felt bad about that, but she was also glad she wasn't among them. Although now she had to deal with what looked like an even deadlier trap, which made her wonder if maybe surviving the previous one wasn't necessarily good fortune... Well, nothing for it. Leaping off of the edge she grabbed one of the horizontal flagpoles, planning to swing herself upwards from pole to pole towards the balcony. So far, so good, and let's hope it stays that way... Thrown die: 1
50 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN Limping, trailing blood from one foot where she'd jogged her elbow and shot herself in the damn foot, Destiny looked up at the room ahead with a grimace and a growing sense of doom. Well, she'd just cut her fingernails and despite her misleading looks she was no ninja, so pillar-climbing it was! Hugging one with her knees tightly, palms splayed across the stone like a gecko climbing up a wall, Destiny inched up a pillar towards the next one, muttering under her breath. "This ain't even worth it." Thrown die: 2
100 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN Nikephoros made it across the gap, and nobody was going to tell his writer he hadn't been there from the beginning. Noticing the flagpoles, the elf began to grow several long vines using his nature magic, using them to reach out and swing from flagpole to flagpole, slowly ascending. Thrown die: 2
75 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN With the pinky broken, thus, barely making it out alive. Seigi gave a short prayer to the people who died as they got killed before moving onwards. None of the options really fancied the hero, though. "I MUST save more people! GUTS AND EFFORT." Seigi nodded as she grabbed two people and, using her heroic might, punched her feet right through the stone wall beside the narrow edges. Getting a foothold that way, the Hero could literally walk up. ...Could she, though? Thrown die: 1
50 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN It was a miracle that Ash had found a walking stick, let alone the fact he was able to limp ahead of the wall of death. The pain of the now-missing leg was simulated, but the shame was very real. At least the bleeding had stopped. Mostly. Thank god the next thing was climbing. He could theoretically do that without needing two legs. Ash took a deep breath, shoved the walking stick into his belt, and started scrabbling for cracks his claws could fit into. Thrown die: 2
50 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN The white-haired mage's heart sank when she realized her spell had gone wrong. And all at once she was all too glad she wasn't on realistic pain settings, because missing teeth and the need to keep going. Thankfully, adrenaline helped there, so like an animu hero-type she pressed forward and attempted to clear the flagpole obstacle course, doing her best to actually focus on that strange part of her brain playing Godsmack over the one that was saying death was clearly the more preferable option here. Thrown die: 1
100 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN Well, surviving obstacle 1 was a good thing, since every great journey started with surviving the first step, right? And hey, her acrobat mastery hadn't let her down, so Luna had even more reason to feel fairly confident when she stepped into the next room. And sure, there were a few different options, but the flagpole options let her put her trust in her handy dandy acrobat and hop, swing and jump her way to victory! Right? Thrown die: 6
100 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN Ugh, wonderful. Her feet were still soaked from her bridge, but she didn't see any other choice but to keep pushing forward. Not wanting to waste energy with making footholds or the like, Claire pulled herself onto the narrow ledge and hoped for the best as she scurried upwards. Thrown die: 3
75 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN "Hmm," Iván deadpanned as he stared at the broken pillars, mentally selecting them as his path forward. With the exception of a few people, almost everyone had already chosen their own paths and died trying. "Maybe I shouldn't have spilled ant juice all over my arm." Thrown die: 3
50 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN She broke some ribs, but landed safely. Comet didn't feel up for looking back at this point. The deadly obstacles seemed to work with luck. Beforehand she'd say luck followed her almost everywhere. Apparently, on different planes of existence this wasn't as true. Taking up acrobatics aided her in the ability to maneuver her body with ease. The young woman decided on using the flag poles to get to the next destination. That way Comet didn't have to use what little strength she had, and the death wouldn't be completely pathetic. Thrown die: 5
50 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN Astor stroked his chin with one hand as he fiddled with his fluffy pillow in the other. The situation seemed to have worsen with people dying left and right on this cruel platforming experience, a death trap if he could say so himself. But, considering that the origin of his face is approximately Barbylonian, won't he be able to pass this stage too? Astor thought as he used Hydromancy to attach himself to the wall using ice claws and gradually clawed his way up to the ceiling and continuing to go up that way. Thrown die: 6
100 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN "Owww!" Celestine continued running, a broken arm flopping limply behind her in fairly unhealthy ways, like a windsock in a tornado. Coming up to the giant room ahead, Cel took a moment to consider the options and was swift in her choice. She couldn't let the others beat her! "Celestine, I am doing you the choosing~!" With a wave of her hand, she aimed a spell past all the obstacles to summon... herself! Thrown die: 1
Intermission Result @Ueno Mizuki You thought that the pole was within reach, it was so close, so close. Yet, when you failed to grab it, the bar became further and further as you descended into the gape beneath you. Your wolf-like instinct kicked in, however, as you gained your second wind and leaped up onto the bar. Although you did well in grabbing it, the rope holding the bar snapped, sending you crashing into a few other people trying to get up the same way. You all fell together. Darkness... The next time you snapped awake, you find all of your limbs broken, yet you were still alive, somehow. @Destiny Divebird You took two steps and proceeded to fall down the chasm. You hit multiple obstacles on the way until you landed atop a tiny platform protruding from the wall. You survived? It hurt like a bitch though... @Nikephoros The vines were difficult to control, which resulted in near strangulation at one point had you not free yourself in time. You felt like you broke something, however. Maybe it was simply your tarnished pride. @Seigi You thought a hero can just walk up the wall. Nope. You plummeted all the way down to a tiny platform, which hurt a lot, but it did save you. You see @Destiny Divebird. @Ash Vargold It seemed as though the wall reached out and slapped you down into the pit. You could feel intense pain when you landed on the same platform @Destiny Divebird and @Seigi ended up on. You also seemed to survive the fall, what a miracles! @Alkaid Zexis You failed spectacularly at the flagpole jumping and ended up getting caught by the vines @Nikephoros had summoned. They straggled you to death. The elf seemed to carry your corpse up with him. Dead @Luna Avalbane You underestimated your jump, which took you to an alternate universe where another Luna Avalbane was staring back at you. It seemed everything was reversed in this realm, which spurred reverse Luna to yell "Doppelganger!!!" before she stabbed you with a knife. Dead @Celestine You utterly failed at summoning yourself. Instead, you cast a spell that propelled you forward off the edge. You fell down to the platform where Seigi, Destiny, and Ash were. Again, you managed to survive, how did this miracle happen? @Claire Thalassa You seemed to be the only one who managed to use the ledges to get up. However, when you grabbed onto a bad spot, a tiny pebble came off and fell to the platform where Seigi, Destiny, Ash, and Celestine were standing. The weight was enough to turn their fate. A few seconds later, the platform snapped clean off from the weight and crushed @Ueno Mizuki into a pulp. Subtract 25% @Ueno Mizuki Dead @Celestine @Seigi @Destiny Divebird and @Ash Vargold All of you came out with a trickle of life left, but it quickly became hopeless as giant rat people dragged you away to butcher for meat. Yum. All dead @Iván Carl You imagined yourself using the pillar in some way, but you never managed to move from your position the entire time. One thing for sure, you took damage by imagining your terrible fate as you attempted the pillar death course in your head. Subtract 25% HP @Comet Your spins were so good that the walls seemingly spewed gold at you for the 10/10 maneuvers. In fact, you did a couple of flashy moves in the air to further excite your audience. This is your debut as a world-class gymnast! @Astor Balthas You climbed and climbed, you went up further and further, until you arrived back in time when the palace was still populated with royals and those who served them. When you were spotted by one of the guards, you were captured and sentenced to death as the Queen of the palace mistook you for an enemy spy. Dead This post does not refresh posting cooldown.
