The world of acting was an ever competitive market. Running out of ideas equaled death. Yet, even from the deepest pits of hell, some directors could claw their way back into the light. Sometimes they just had to steal another's idea...

...and call it 'Scouting for young Talent'! So why, exactly, was it that Lachlan Faye was paying YOU to give him an improv play? Not even that, with the theatre expert and fashion icon being infamous to never finish a script beyond characters and basic premise it was now your job, to well, give the basic premise and characters. Pretty much anything. Why did you even need him ag- ah right, payment and fun.

The good thing the soon-to-be-stars could get out of this private one-scene-only-play was the fact he had some of the best illusionists working under him. Allowing one to make their fantasies inside a fantasy reality! ... Exactly. Rumors have it these illusionists could even read minds, for maximum efficiency! And, ultimately, nobody actually gets hurt. The fact they were all mutes and worse masks AND lurking on back...backstage only helped with the whole privacy thing. Win-win!

Work together and so some freeform roleplaying with one another. The quest will be considered complete after 3 posts from each. You can continue past that too if you wish.

Don't forget to tag your partner to make sure it's their turn!

You can decide however this ordeal shall go. Complete freedom over all and any NPCs. Get creative! You can change the entire scenery in your heads! Maybe reenact a comedic sketch of some famous literature? Pretend to play a super-realistic fantasy online-game and learn the ropes? Have a court-room trial? Don't overthink and just improv! The possibilities are endless. I will not interfere unless you call me out in Spice my Thread.

As always, if you're still unsure about something don't be afraid to tag/ask in the Discord!

    Have Fun!

  2. Oh, great.

The first thing Ehlonna did when she woke up for the first time in this strange new world was not go out and shoot monsters with her beginner's bow, or peruse the shops, checking out all of the wonderful things inside this new game that she was not yet wealthy enough to buy. No, the first thing she did was walk straight into a person who told her she was going to be the next big playwright. This was, of course, a complete lie, as the person telling her such was an NPC and probably had this preset line for any person stupid enough to accept his quest.

Yet here she was, stupid enough to accept his quest.

It seemed as if the NPC had wrangled another person into this quest, too. The Felis gave her a once-over before turning back to the NPC. He was saying something along the lines of coming up with a one-act play. This was something she had done in her thoughts, written down on pages in documents, for she wanted one day to publish a book she procrastinated on writing. While she felt guilt wrack her stomach for one moment before she pushed it away. Time for writing books would be later, when she took off the headset, when her time in Terrasphere was over.

"So, let me get this right." Ehl said, crossing her arms. She could feel her tail twitch irritably, which was weird considering in other VR games, she had no tail to control. "This Faye person wants us to make up a play for him that's only one act long. Or we could just pretend a conversation and make up hand movements. I feel like as long as he thinks it of an act of a play, we finish the quest. And there are a great many normal acts in plays that are just people speaking, or people fighting, or people doing anything. Like exiting, pursued by bears."

She grinned, wondering if the person behind the avatar she looked at would understand the theatrical reference. "I'm Ehlonna, by the way."

  3. The headset was on. It comfortably fit around the face of the user, as it should, after all it's meant to be on your face for hours on end. "I'm wasting time..."
Fiora whispered to herself, her body shaking with anticipation, but also nervousness. Video games were all new to her, she'd only seen some anime with them. Would she be trapped in this world and die? Fiora giggled as she imagined the despair people would be in that situation. But shook her head, she had to stop coming up with excuses not to play.

She started the game and resisted the urge to shut her eyes. As the game booted up and she designed her character in what felt like a real sculpting of life, Fiora was able to calm down. Finally she finished her character, this was it. This was all for stress relief, nothing to feel guilty over. As she started the game, the world felt as real as anything else. Moving her legs felt weird due to the large decrease in height, but she managed. Before she could even remember what the goal of the game was an NPC came up to her. The NPC explained some kind of quest with script writing, she didn't know video games were so boring. But at the same time it seemed fun so she accepted it. Cerise turned to the other NPC next to her, at least she assumed she was an NPC since she looked no different from the other person talking. "Fi-Cerise, Cerise Blanche~ Charmed I'm sure!~"
Cerise's knowledge with people allowed her to hide her bewilderment with the game. Her voice was much different in the game, much more bubbly and high pitched. Not to mention the way her cheeks warmed up when she smiled.

  4. "Nice to meet you." Ehlonna said, looking down on the young girl who was literally three feet smaller than she.

Ehlonna in-game was very different from Alianna out-of-game; both were relatively tall, but Ehlonna was much more stoic and sassy than quiet and timid Alianna. She preferred it that way, especially since Alianna couldn't get out of the house ever. Terrasphere was her new world.

"So anyway, back to the quest. Have you ever made a play before, or do you want to wing it and end the quest as quickly as possible?" Ehlonna asked her partner.

It was the first quest they had to do, so it wasn't going to be that hard to accomplish. Hell, this could even be the quest they did. She wasn't going to say no to that. Like she'd said, anything was considered an act if there was a beginning a middle and an end.

  5. Cerise laid her palm over her mouth. She had to get into character, this is where she can let it all out and see misfortune, but she had to cause some kind of misfortune after all these people were all playing a video game. A giggle escaped her lips, something that she didn't do often so it sounded as weird to her as it was to those around her. "Ufufu~"
With the high pitched voice and bit of an accent she had, it almost sounded like a villain, she liked it, "If you're not ready to write something, I can do it for you, I have an amazing idea~"
The manipulative tone came out like butter, she was so used to playing the character it was simple. She found it creepy how simple it was, but it worked, hopefully.

  6. Ehlonna actually raised an eyebrow as she watched the smaller player character begin to giggle over seemingly nothing. She tilted her head sideways to view the other while keeping herself now carefully neutral. No one had to know what she'd suddenly thought of this strange occurrence of a giggle, nor what she thought of the suddenly strange words she heard from this seemingly-innocent person.

"Write?" She asked. "We just have to act something out."

She understood that tone all too well, and that a player could slip into something so sadistic-sounding so fast sent warning bells off in her mind. But she would go along with it. This was a game, and she was eager to try anything out.

"But I'm willing to try anything out." She added evenly. Something struck wrong with her. This person was strange, but that wouldn't stop her from completing the quest.

  7. Cerise took a double take, realizing how little she payed attention to the quest. Her assumption was that she was just going to write some embarrassing arm movements for NPC performers and get her reward, she had to act it out as well? She realized there weren't any bubbles to check what the Quest was asking and if there was she didn't know how to open it. Not wanting to seem as oblivious as she was, Cerise waved her hand giggling again. "Oh, but you know, I can simply write what you do. I thought that was clear, I didn't think you'd need it elaborated~"
Her subtle back-handed explanation once again came out when all she wanted was to ask what she was supposed to do. Cerise, or maybe more Fiora, realized how much power a fake persona had over her actions. No need for censoring or lying.
