It wasn't different in nature of what they've found so far in their expedition into Naryu Canyon, but truly, the visage of the giant monster at the center of the lake rendered the woman speechless. Portia was barely able to focus on anything else rather than the current center of the beasts' attention. A light shake of her head and she was already looking to the rest of her raid team. Giants weren't scary anymore when she had successfully plucked the antennae from a 30 feet tall ant queen. Ah, what a tale. Portia was the next one to arrive to the little group circling around the trapped explorers, eyes narrowed as she settled her arms on her hips and allowed herself to rest a little while with the others, offering any assistance she might've been able to provide in order to get the raid members out of their condition faster. There was the imminent threat of a monster who could kill them in one fell swoop unless their efforts were combined. Lifting her head after a job well done, she spied her former friend in the corner of her eyes, both her thoughts and features sobering into a calmer, happier expression as he was seemingly unharmed despite his condition. Far from feeling disappointed or disheartened by the lack of conversation the pair had suffered from, she could at least be somewhat relieved he had grown into someone who could hold his own with or without her aid. Still, with such thoughts in place, she did not reach to talk to him, shifting the entirety of her attention to the combined efforts of the others on knowing more about their surroundings, and, eventually, joining them on doing so. 34 + 30 = 64 Tracker / Roll Scouting: 2129 / 2000

This was because she’d gotten piss drunk the night previous and ended up in the back of a wagon that was heading…somewhere? She wasn’t quite sure, because it wasn’t until the fifth day that anyone realized she was even in the wagon, and when she’d asked where she was all she’d gotten were angry shouts and threats. Well, she wasn’t one to stand for that kind of name calling, so Rellan decided to do what she did best; improvise. At least she was good at it in real life. Her father said she was a natural ‘out of the box’ thinker, and that a thing like that could serve her well in life if she could utilize it. Following along and pretending that she had intended to be here all along seemed to be a fine tactic, so she did that. For the next couple days she traded tasks for food, talked with various people and got a better grip on the situation than she had when she’d woken up. From the upside down forest to the sac creatures that roamed the place, it was all just a sign telling Rellan she was far too sober for this. She remedied that situation, finding a loose bottle of ale some probably dropped, and followed along with the people that seemed to know what they were doing. She wanted to help, really, but the thought of punching a sac monster and watching all that goo spray out all over her made her gag. And so… The roar. It seemed to meld through her and rattle her very bones. The scene quickly grew chaotic, with way more action than she was used to seeing. Yeah, she was in over her head by a country mile, but those…those were real screams, right? Like…not fake? It seemed to come from everywhere, and the rain that came down hit her skin with a light hiss, making her cringe in pain. She zeroed in on a target and dashed in; a purple haired boy was grabbed by a tentacle and it was dragging him toward the monster. As her fist came down onto the tentacle she thought back to all the time she wasted not playing the game as it was intended. She was weak, and she was a burden. But she still had to try. "Great, now we have to move forward to see what's up." After fighting through vicious tendrils shooting out of nowhere, the group found themselves near a lake, an upside-down lake. Corvella swore she saw a sacling flew and got consumed by whatever in that lake, resulting in sudden tremor on the ground. Purple lightning began to shoot around the lake and something began to grow, releasing a roar that sent every ear ringing. The figure absorbed the lake water and got bigger "Here is it... Titanius." No, it's not. It's just a big tentacle monster. What a letdown. The tentacles began to act and abducted several adventurers (that's all tentacles ever do). Yukisa, Velka, Haru (or is it Brad?) and one person she had never thought she would see again. It's Gwyn, it certainly is! Excited, Corvella tries to close the distance to the big tentacly monster. She did let her guard down while running, resulting in a acid rain pouring over her and burning her exposed skin. "Ouch!" Should have bought a helmet, she thought. Her Witch Ops sticker began to glow as Majolica sent a message. They would need to free Haru first, but Bound Prince already beat her to it. One by one, the tentacles were quickly taken down by combined attacks of the adventurers. Now all they have to do is finish that thing, apparently. The blonde spotted Majolica, using her infused broom to attack the thing named Playtus. Of course, with her broom busy drilling into that thing, Majolica is highly open to attacks. And yet somehow it reminded her of home... which was odd, considering she neither lived in a forest nor owned an eldritch abomination as a pet (though to be fair: Oreo could get pretty nasty if denied her nap time). Nonetheless, as everyone else went off to be responsible or whatever, Celly was focused on the most important question, and it brought her to the main point of interest: the wall house. "Hmm..." Taking a curious step inside, then back out, she glanced up to confirm that many of the responsible adventure people that'd been standing near her were now on the ceiling. She went back to reverse it... and promptly repeated the process a few times. "Eheheheheheeeeeeeee~ So many of the potentials..." Celestine grabbed a nearby rock, tossing it up and catching it again a few times just to confirm gravity worked as expected. "Test number one," Cel shouted as another dutiful adventure-person hit a nearby beastie with a squish thereby contributing to saving the world or something boring like that, "The rock of the between worlds!" Giving the rock an Aero-boosted toss resembling a small 'hand cannon,' Cel aimed the rock towards the half-house on the ceiling, rushing into the one on the ground. On the ceiling, which was now the ground, she leaped to catch the rock but failed to grab on, causing it to fall back to the ground, which was now the ceiling. "Fuzz it..." A few more tries, some casual acid rain damage, and a couple minor concussions to some random extras later, she finally caught the elusive rock, holding it up (which the rock insisted was down) triumphantly! At first, it was nice not to have the annoying little fuzz ball try and glomp her every time they wound up in the same room. However, after some time it seemed to be a wanted distraction from the vague seriousness everyone oozed at the castle (well besides Alphabet, but she was rarely there anyway). So Blank set off to find her cat-eared friend if only to berate her for not tolerating her company anymore. Unfourtatnly when she had, Blank saw that Celestine was busy teleporting herself out of the castle. With a flick of her wrist, and a few quick words Blank created her own portal quicking following in the Felis' footsteps. For some reason, however, her aim was a bit off sending her quite a bit away from Celestine's portal exit, leaving her to stuck to chasing the girl down. At first, she wanted to call out to her but soon saw where she was wandering off too. It was some sort of dimensional anomaly, where the roads bent upwards above them somehow manipulating gravity and space itself. "Wow..." Blank mumbled as she lost sight of her goal, staring at the insanity before her. Not only were the pathways twisted and screwy, but several adventurers ran about them fighting off odd tentacles and even stranger creatures. One such adventurer stood before, Blank, firing off a powerful fireball, and in doing so left her back wide open to a counter attack. Blank flicked her wrist, thrusting her staff in @Nalla's direction mumbling a silent incantation. Within a heartbeat a jagged wall of ice jutted up from the ground behind Nalla, reflecting back several tentacles coming from the odd-looking Playtus. But the last thing he expected to accidentally come across was an old friend who he had been desperately attempting to contact for days on end. Hearing the rustling of footsteps, he turned his head to glance over his shoulder, and his eyes widened in surprise by the individual who was standing just meters away from him. @Portia Ahrens , looking at him with clear pain in her eyes. Everything around him seemed to fade. Nothing mattered but the girl before him that the thought of was enough to cause his eyes to glisten. Redemption… that’s what he’d been hoping to achieve this whole time, and perhaps this was the first step. But as he was about to step forward, he was given the cold shoulder before he could even utter a word. His heart lurched, and at that moment he wanted to run and hide, however he had hesitated enough. “Rushi, wai-” he began saying, attempting to follow after her with his arm outstretched… but his foot had caught on something… cold and slimey. He turned his gaze towards his ankle, and noticed that a thin tentacle had gripped him tightly. Soon thereafter, several other tentacles from the lake had him helplessly ensnared, and he was gradually being dragged off into the water, his desperate struggling seeming to do nothing to prevent his seemingly inevitable fate of a very unpleasant bath. Or it would have been inevitable, had @Rallen Shard not heard his cry for help and come to assist. With a swift attack, the lewd tentacles retreated, leaving a slime-covered Yukisa behind. “Th-Thanks,” he muttered towards the girl and bowed in gratitude. After the quick exchange, he took a deep breath. This thing needed to go before someone else fell victim. He rushed at the creature in the center of the lake and, utilizing the flow of air around him, lunged towards it, spinning his spear overhead as he prepared for a precise strike. For a short moment, Cel pouted and shielded her new treasure from the icy thief, but then she gave her another glance and - after a short moment of thinking something over - she latched onto Blank in an uncomfortably tight hug. “Oh who am I doing the kid of? She considered briefly using Aeromancy to catch up to the boy so that she could give him a piece of her mind proper, but soon stopped when her magic alerted her of incoming damage. Too late, however, to be of any use. The abomination within the lake had had plenty of time to take root, and when it rose accompanied by purple lightning, the best Alkaid could do was place herself between it and her companion. A miscalculation she would soon regret, when the acidic liquid came raining down from above. The hiss that accompanied it sent waves of pain down her arms and shoulders, where the majority of the liquid had landed. In response the mage sent a breeze down her skin in attempt to minimize the damage. A gesture she repeated for @Comet, who had quickly bounced back with a look of determination. Alkaid gave a grim nod in response to her words, followed by a confident smirk, “I’ll be careful. Just come back quick or there won’t be anything of this thing left.” Lightning of her own sparked shortly there after. Bringing out her deck to float around, she gave it the usual whirl. A casual turn of the Wheel of Fortune, or at least so it seemed. The cards continued to spin round and round, several beginning to spark until the woman began to draw, taking out three cards in succession, which she then placed in the air in front of her. The woman paused ever so briefly, the electrical currents around her cards such a tempting thing. Given the presence of allies in the area, one filled entirely with water, she instead redirected the energy into a better idea. Cycle 2 The otherworldly creature let out a pained wail that deafened everyone who was present and the numerous tendrils that lurked in the dark shriveled from the damage dealt to the main body. Eventually, it’s skin lost the presence of life as its dark purple pigment disappeared and the creature faded away like dust in the wind. Although the party stood victorious over the monster that inhabited the lake, the fog became even thicker than before, foreshadowing the danger that still lurked within. With the scouts finding the path forward, the party used the Resonance Detector as a compass. They had to walk around the lake and go deeper into the upside down forest. However, a short distance later, they would find that their path was blocked, and there was yet another upside down forest that was supposed to be the same orientation as when they came in. Location: Tar Forest The trees in this right side up forest, however, appeared more grotesque than before. Its bark and leaves leaking an oil-like substance onto the party below with a terrible stench. The oil was sticky to the touch and not at all pleasant when the party had to walk up the sidewall to reorient themselves in the new forest. As the party continued on, Astor and D’vangeline lagged behind, the heavy injuries they had sustained ensured that they could not keep up with the party. A few adventurers stayed back with them. The distortion continued as the party waded through the vile forest. Strangely enough they eventually discovered a massive entrance that looked nothing at all like the architecture commonly seen in the same. The sign above the entrance was written in a language they couldn’t comprehend. After they entered this bizarrely modern building, they realized that they were inside a museum. Although the tar forest was cold, the museum’s interior was colder and extremely dark. If any of the raid party member illuminated the area, the group would be able to see that there were two rows of Romanesque statues on either side of the room. Behind them were doric columns. As if this shift in environment was not already strange enough, they would notice that there were patches of vein-like purple-black goo covering most of their surroundings. The giant hall also had several gashes in the wall, ceiling, and floor that looked like half-opened eyes. The pupil within the slit appeared to be following them, but it was so subtle that no one can discern. Suddenly, the floor shook as the sound of something massive could be heard coming toward the party. In the deep dark, two red eyes stared at the adventurer’s very soul… If light was shone against the source of the red orbs, @Alphabet Chocolate and @Roland Rutledge would immediately recall the enemy before them. It had a pitch black body of a spider and the torso of a woman. Corrupted and degenerated, the Bloodied Queen had several tendrils protruding out of her body along with hundreds of gashes that looked like half opened eyes all over her body. Each pupil was looking at different adventurers and switched at specific intervals. She was hungry, oh so hungry… and nothing could beat the sweet taste of revenge. Despite her gargantuan size, the spider queen rushed forward and hit the ground using her spider legs, the force behind her attack was powerful enough to scatter the adventurers. Behind her was another massive entrance like the one they had just entered to reach the bizarre museum. Rather than pointing towards the enemy before them, the dissonance sensor pointed to the entrance instead with a signal stronger than ever, but the vengeful enemies would not let them through, not without a fight. She readied herself for a thrown down with some familiar faces. Posting cooldowns have been refreshed.
