  1. Ashnor tried again, opening up his palm menu with a quick closing and opening of his hand, and selected the spell tab one more time. He'd probably only been practicing in this ruin of a building for about fifteen minutes now, but it seemed like it had been much longer to him. Using the menu in his left hand as a guide, he held out his right hand before him and recited the spell's name as best he could "Igniculum." As he spoke the word, a small flame came to light about an inch above his hand, burning steadily until he closed his hand and extinguishing it.

"Well, it seems I've gotten the hang of that spell. Now to try this next one..." Ashnor mumbled to himself, scrolling down his menu a small bit so he could see the entire description of the spell. After skimming over the description, he stuck his hand out like before and attempted to pronounce the spell, "Sphaera Ardere." For the most part, it seemed like it was working. Just above Ashnor's hand, a tiny flaming sphere appeared, slowly increasing in size until it was comparable to a tennis ball. Ashnor couldn't help but get excited, it seemed like he had gotten the pronunciation correct on the first shot. Through the act of skimming, Ashnor had missed the fact that a few seconds after reaching its full size, the sphere would then detonate if not terminated.

And this is exactly what happened. Since Ashnor didn't terminate the spell and merely held it in his hand, the sphere detonated, knocking him backward into the rubble behind him. The loud boom set his ears ringing, and could be heard for quite a distance. Ashnor groaned as he got back up from the explosion, shaking his head to try and get rid of his headache. "Well, obviously I did something wrong there, just gotta figure out what..." Ashnor opened his menu back up, trying to figure out what he had done wrong.

  2. Flowing approached the troubled figure. With a look of concern she waves her hand in front of Ashnor. Flowing was simply a bystander who came upon Ashnor learning fire magic. Flowing was honest that she considered Pyromancy as one of the Masteries she wanted to try, but settled on Spellbane instead of the magic of fire. Flowing thought it would work out better than one class of magic.

"Hey you okay there buddy? Don't suddenly blow yourself up like that ya know?" Flowing looked at him with a strong concerned stare.

Flowing remembers how this sort of all started. It was about an hour ago, when she saw the figure practicing in the distance, clearly he chose a good spot but lacked the actual proper tutor to do it. Free formed too. So she watched on the side lines pretty much the whole time.

  3. Ashnor flinched a bit as the hand came into his view. He hadn't really expected anyone to just come up to him like this. sure, he was near the town, but Ashnor figured that all the npc's would just stay away. But here someone was, a woman wearing an oversized hat. Chuckling a bit at what they said, Ashnor scratches the back of his head awkwardly. "Yeah, well I would really say it was intentional. I'm still trying to get the hang of this Pyromancy stuff."

Ashnor looks back down at his menu - or just stares at his hand from the woman's perspective - before a few seconds later, hitting his head with the palm of his hand. "I guess that's what I get for skimming. It says here that it explodes after a few seconds." Ashnor looks back up at the woman as he closing his palm menu. "Sorry if I disturbed you, I'm just trying some stuff out."
