+20 EN for Recover Energy Action

As the last attack slammed into the monster. Majolica took deep mediation breaths to calm herself and help recover some of her energy. While looking around waiting to see what would come next, two familiar voices approached her.

First was the Copy Cat (@Celestine ) who scampered up wanting to show The Grand Witch a rock.

    "Hehehe, jealous? Hehehe..."

She was a little a jealous, but pointed to her broomstick. Without the Grand Witch even turning to look, the broomstick started break dancing by using it's bristles as legs.

"Hehehe, can your rock do that?!"

As she asked the question, the second familiar face came. Majolica gritted her teeth.

    Faker Goblin...

It seemed like @Blank was now allied with the Copy Cat. Remembering what Guillotine Priest had mentioned about roses, Majolica looked and saw each of the girls carried one.

As The Faker, came closer, Majolica spoke up.

"Hehehehe, well look who it is? Did you come because you wanted me to tear through you again with my magic? Hehehe, everyone had a good laugh when you ran away through your portal crying the last time you tried to get in the GRAND witch's way! Hehehe."

After her small taunt, Majolica's face darkened. She wasn't sure if these two were aligned with the dissonance or not. Majolica had seen what she thought was dissonance when Blank had used her portal. Guillotine Priest has also told her that Alphabet Chocolate had something to do with it as well, and Alphabet had the rose pendant, which these two had. But then, why were they here, apparently helping? Majolica hoped that she could tease it out of them by being crafty.

"Hehehe, I thought all of you rose people were friends with the dissonance? Hehehe, I saw it when you ported out, crying like a baby, after the bandit fight, hehe. So what are you doing here? Getting ready to betray everyone? Hehe, I know Alphabet Chocolate is one of you too... dummy Faker Goblin, hehehe."

The Grand Witch, honestly didn't want to fight a war on two fronts at the moment. The monsters that were all around them were the major concern. That being said, this was a rare opportunity to gather information, and Majolica couldn't watch it go to waste.

As she waited for reply, she heard something coming. Turning back the Ops, began shouting.

"WITCH OPS! INTO FORMATION! SOMETHING'S COMING!"

Alric had taken his usual spot in the background for these kinds of events after the raid group began its descent into Naryu Canyon. While they walked his mind flashed back to his last visit to the canyon and the first time he had engaged Titanius in battle. After just barely scraping by with his party he wasn't sure if a ragtag band on adventurers could kill it, but would remain hopeful anyway.

    ---

Some people took to scouting, others were just culling the numbers of some weird creatures nearby, but he chose to do neither. There were enough people around to take care of those kinds tasks, so wasting his own energy would have been pointless. Playtus entered the scene only to be dispatched with ease and with acidic rain that poured down on the party few had taken a little beating. A new threat was before them now and after scrambling back to his feet to recover from the spider queen's attack Alric cast a healing spell on those who he thought were most hurt.

The creature faded, leaving the adventurers free to press on forward against the thickening fog. They walked and walked until the group stumbled upon an entirely different forest. The trees were spilling something that rivals even @Iván Carl's deadly stink, forcing Corvella and co. to avoid making contact with it. After more walking and walking, they stumbled upon a building that's very out of place. "Why is this place here?" She wondered. The place really resembled a museum, a rather modern one, even. She smells that they would encounter something along the likes of The Night at the Museum or The Mummy things.

One big figure approached the group, and it turned out to be a gigantic arachnid with an upper half of an humanoid. It reminded her of story told particularly to players, that long before she came, the adventurers combined their force to take down the thing called Arachna, The Bloodied Queen. Ruthless she was, it resulted in many players getting killed during the battle, and leaving those who survived hardened heroes. But if the adventurers already defeated her, the thing in front of the group couldn't be the bloodied queen.

The back of the arachnid figure started to glow, indicating that she was getting ready for an attack. Upon investigation, the spider hairs were emitting a deal of dissonance. The shielded knight took the initiative to dash towards it and quickly jumped high above, getting over Arachna and slammed the spear-shaped hairs and breaking some of them. "She wouldn't be able to use them anytime soon. Gotta keep it hairless, know what I mean?"

Well didn't this just beat all?

To know exactly what was going on was no longer something Healer could worry about. She had spent most of this focused more on just trying to grasp everything people were saying and all the rumors flying about. It made sense that there was something... not right about this game. Wendy was enough of a example from what Healer understood, there were a weird group of people seen chatting in her hospital room.

If only he had been there...

So for now, it was time to 'play' and fight the 'harmless' virtual AI enemies that could trap you in the game if they kill you, create all sorts of strange effects that should not be possible to people who aren't even technically there, and decided to go by a Lovecraftian style of visuals. The idea that a Dissonance was behind Wendy's malady was so legit it was terrifying. That didn't explain where she was or how it did that though.

As the massive spider made it's grand appearance.... the words 'midboss' screamed in Healers head. It was probably a good time to stop hanging around and test these Eldritch waters then.

"....Guess I have to start swinging."

This avatar wasn't in anyway a expert swordsman like Jason would have played in the past. This would be a good trial by fire though and that was something he would have loved. Sadly, was that thoughts of the seriousness here ruined that fun.

Healer's thin and sheen Gleaming Sword appeared in her hand as she swung it once to test it's weight before getting into parry stance. Her stance was not one of a novice. The moment the ground shook from the queen's attack. Healer barely staggered. A smug smirk appeared on her face.

    This wasn't too bad... yet.

Okay, so the giant monster was felled and the day was saved! Everyone had done an amazing job of doing absolutely astoundingly awful, which meant everything was going according to plan. As acid rain fell down and tendrils lashed out, they managed to kill the big dumb stupid and save the people who were being dragged off. After that battle, they continued their march through the creepy forest full of evil sap. Rat collected some of the stuff bleeding from the trees, just to give to Stinky Ivan later as an ingredient in his curry. At worst, it would kill someone just as badly as the normal recipe. At best, she could trademark the stuff as an ingredient and come back here to collect it all the time. Everything was looking up Milhouse, aw yeah!

But then they arrived in a giant spider den where a colossal monster that seemed to be an upscaled and non-maid version of some minipets she'd seen around, decided to glomp them upon entrance. Immediately people set to attacking, and she conjured up the quickest and laziest damage buff she could to try and increase somebody's output. Looking around for who to give it to, she noticed the guy with the eyepatch that had finished off the last big monster.
He seemed a safe choice, and so she sent it flying his direction, hoping that even as weak as the buff was, it would serve him well.

The sound of battle drew her back to the main area where most of the party was gathered, nearby an odd lake. Navigating the landscape was difficult, and so she arrived once the group had seemingly vanquished what was in the waters.

Some people looked rather worse for wear, but they needed to push on. Remaining too long in one place wouldn't be for the best, as alien and twisted as this forest seemed to be. The group marched onwards, towards yet another reversed forest.

Things seemed quiet. For a while, at least. They entered the strange building, surrounded by the eerie emptiness. Pillars and pedestals, ornate and seemingly without any purpose. The lack of anything at all set her teeth on edge.

Careful what you wish for, as the saying goes. The rumbling of the ground heralded the approach of a monstrous beast- one that Ashiore actually recognized, although not through personal experience. She had heard stories of the Bloodied Queen from players who had spent longer in Terrasphere than she had. The reign of terror that had swept through bloodcursed Norforva, the lingering unease around spiders that many of them felt.

And now, Arachna was here. How...?

Didn't matter, though, at the moment. Not when the enormous spider seemed intent on devouring them all. Ashiore's eyes scanned the battlefield. She could sense magic gathering, but what was really concerning was the way Arachna was rearing back like she was ready to strike. Most of the group was still gathered in one spot. If she managed to get of an attack aimed at the heart of the crowd, it'd be disastrous. So, she had to make sure that Arachna wouldn't get that chance.

    This was insane.

Is this what happened after a random night of debauchery? What did she do that was so bad that karma decided to boot her in the face a few times? The nightmare monster that had suddenly appeared before them was defeated after some time battling, in which the only thing she’d done was save a purple haired boy that had actually taken the time to thank her for it. Neat.

Now that that whole kerfluffle had gone down and the enemy had been defeated, she had two choices; turn back and leave, or keep going with everyone else. The smart move would have been to leave, but that intrusive curiosity got the better of her again, and so she decided to tail the rest of the group and act like she’d been there the whole time. Hell, she even went so far as to tell one young warrior she’d been one of the first people to begin gathering all these impressive warriors for the battles ahead, a feat they thought wonderful. She got a free drink for that tale. And then…things got weird.

    Again.

The Black Bloody Forest (trademarked, she thought of the name first) was the shit she swore she saw in her nightmares, the ones that woke you up and faded fast so you could barely remember them, the only thing clear is the ever present feeling of terror as you clutch your chest but you didn’t now why. That was this, that was what was going through Rellan’s mind as she walked along with the rest of the group…or most of them anyways. Some were hanging back due to injury, and Rellan decided they probably would need some help if they were attacked. She turned ono a heel to go backwards when everything went to hell.

    Again.

The huge spider woman thing was so fast Rellan barely had time to dodge out of the way of the attack that had been flung mindlessly in the general direction of the adventurers. She got up and growled, teeth bared. A few others were already on the move to attack the beast, and Rellan didn’t intend to be far behind them. She was a martial artist dammit, and she was gonna punch this thing to fine paste if she had to.

Yes. Havoc. A voice growled, evidently pleased.

Reckless. An adjective meaning 'without thinking or caring about the consequences of an action'. Derived from the Germanic base 'reck', or care. So it comes as no surprise that the term reckless is synonymous with the term careless. And that is precisely what Nalla had been: careless.

Without thought, she had blown a foe to smithereens. And in the wake of her inferno, she had been enveloped in a lovely warmth. Her own flames always comforted her in this way, like a heated veil in winter. As her muscles relaxed, punishment arrived. Peace was not to be had in the battlefield, and she was lashed for such insolence. A violent spray of acids and thrashing of tentacles overtook her. And it was so; she saw the familiar tsunami. This time, it was not Eleanor on the beach. Instead, a hurdle of ice ascended in front of her, deflecting many of the attacks. Her immediate reaction was to examine her allies for Claire's presence, but her familiar friend was nowhere to be seen. It was another face. One she had perhaps seen before, but did not remember interacting with. On this occasion, @Blank had been her savior. "T-Thank you!!"

But the panic did not cease. The moment she perceived the hint of safety or refuge, another assault arrived. From one corner of the frozen barrier, a hulking arachnidian limb came down, shattering the earth that stood still moments prior. The ground before the pyromancer rattled, and scampering to her feet, she fled from the scene to somewhere safer. A place for ranged damage characters and supports to hide, shielded by the tanks and bruisers. A wonderland referred to as 'The Backline'.

Calm down. Needless to say, she was shaken. She remembered the last time a hurricane of blows surprised her. It was when players were managing the Bandit King. Her heedless actions had bestowed her with a swift death, but one that would not soon be forgotten. There was a boiling within her. A furnace that would not be extinguished... But must be controlled. Breathe in... Breathe out... You're doing fine. Calm down. With her hands insulating her ears, and eyes closed like a hatch, she tried to find a unperturbed place within her mind. A tenseness of pressure wracked her veins, the clattering of her heartbeat racing along.

As the enemy fell into a smoldering heap of ash and ember, Emil straightened his robe, tucked his grimoire under one arm and smiled. It felt good to do things like this again. Working with others in such a big group, there was no place for someone to stand out and proclaim to be the most valuable member of the group. No one would stand within a corridor and demand that the others work with them on pain of death. Perhaps these larger events were more Emil’s speed…though he would receive none of the glory, his very life wouldn’t be threatened either.

The thought had the mage glancing around as the flood of people began to trickle in another direction. He did not make out the lilac colored hair of a certain Death Witch and a small frown took residence upon his mouth. He hadn’t seen Vivian in quite some time, mostly because he refused to come into Astorea proper on the assumption he would immediately be arrested and put to death for his involvement in the failed assassination attempt against Zeus. More than that, however, was his inability to determine his standing with the Aristocracy. While the Crown’s Guard worried him, the thugs that played politics worried him more.

His soft sole shoes barely rustled the grass as he fell in line with the others. His single eye took in the world around him, finding it all interesting to an extent. He was more focused on the spell that tumbled from his lips, his fingers giving a soft snap to complete the incantation. A small fire bird appeared in a puff of smoke on his shoulder, a single trilling chirp announcing its arrival.

Ah, it works, Emil commented with a smirk, his index finger gently stroking the head of the bird.

As they progressed further into the area, he was surprised at the sudden appearance of the spider queen. But, like the previous fight, he didn’t allow his nerves to break the mask of concentration that settled over his features. He focused, forcing two basketball-sized fireballs to manifest in front of him. A chirp from the bird and the sudden energy given to him by a wayward buff spell allowed the flames to grow hotter and their sizes to increase to bowling ball proportions. They immediately shot off toward the massive spider boss.

As @Roland Rutledge continued to try (and fail) at besting Alpha's superb scouting abilities which were definitely way better than anything Roland could dream of, Alpha managed to find her way back to the group with Hector on Potato's skipping, frolicking tail. The magnificent horse seemed to glimmer in perfection as his flawless form did a perfect ballerina spin, dancing along the stage with gilded hooves and glittering sparkles. Alpha, dressed in a light of gold and a shower of sparkling gems, gracefully leaped to Corvella's aid despite her overpowering fear of spiders. What a hero.

Meanwhile, Roland was obviously failing to keep up with her beautiful figure as she twirled around the battlefield, gathering a shiny sprinkle of magic within her hands like how the fairies did it in the Maleficent movie from 2014. Simply put, anyone who saw her would be dazzled by the performance. She was just that awesome. Roland was a fool for trying to out-scout her.

And BAM! She healed Corvella. Like, totally. And all of Corvella's wounds began to dissipate as Alpha shimmered underneath the stray beam of light which poked through the darkened battleground solely to highlight Alpha's greatness (especially compared to Roland). And, because of her kindness and generosity in healing Corvella, Alphabet Chocolate lived happily ever after while Roland was decapitated (for the nth time). The End.

Yet despite Alpha stellar storytelling skills (that greatly outshone the likes of Steven Spielberg or Barney the Purple Dinosaur), she felt a wave of apprehension fill her as she stumbled through, trying to escape Arachna's vengeful gaze. I hate spiders, she thought as she found Corvella. Quickly, she maneuvered herself behind the armored lady, making sure that she was well-hidden behind the woman's tough frame, and healed her human shield for extra comfort. Totally not for selfish reasons because, as Alpha was telling the story, she was being awfully heroic for healing her friend like that. Not for any ulterior motives such as avoiding Arachna or anything. Definitely not. Alpha was a grade-A cool girl. That sparkled. Like one of those vampires in Twilight.

Rias rushed over to the location where the @Grand Witch Majolica send her in the UI and it was actually pretty close but it was hard to spot them with so many players/maybe NPC's all around! However the moment she arrived they were already starting...finishing the attack and Rias knew that even she had to put some effort in even if it's just a little!
Any damage or support counts in this situation. Before she managed to get her bow out though a loud wail echoed loud and clear in her ears making her hands immediately cover them internationally. The fog became thicker as the monster faded and disappeared making it harder to find players now...it's a good thing she rushed now and had the Witch Ops in her sight otherwise she would be definitely lost. @Iván Carl @Haru @Bradwynne @Corvella @Janet Reilly

Fighting for a spot in for Witch Ops~ " She muttered out in front of a small group that was around the Witch, she didn't know many people except her anyway but she hoped that wouldn't affect her image too much.

Finishing with her introduction she figured it wasn't the best place and time to meet new faces plus there was no time to waste as they all got a move on to the next location, it was new and definitely scary for the young archer...mostly because it looked so realistic! But you know what looked even more horrifying...? The giant spider that spawned right in front of everyone. She gulped getting a grip of her bow with her eyes staring at the giant monstrosity. "That's not good...O-oh...That is sooo not good." She stuttered taking a step back, there wasn't much she could do...just shoot her arrows and hope for the best like a newbie she was. Taking a deep but shaky deep breath she straightened her back and moved her bow in front of her, preparing the arrow she closed her one eye and aimed at Arachna.

The world around them shifted, but kept Comet on her toes. Tar Forest both disgusted and delighted her. Though, she wished that slightly superior senses didn't come with the benefits of her Hunting mastery. The stench created nausea within her stomach that wouldn't go away even with a covering of the nose. Such a sickness mixed with fear of what lay ahead. After the large creature - too easily slain in her opinion - fell to their devices she wondered if more would appear. Perhaps the thought jinxed them all.

Comet kept close to Alkaid throughout their journey. She almost warned the white-haired woman of what worries swarmed about in her head as the group entered the cold building where she shivered more out of concern than because of the cold. Standing frozen, the Archer drew her bow once naturally composed by a strong will to fight but felt weakened. More drawn to the entrance with more danger ahead than the monster before her.

Comet's arms lacked the same amount of strength from before. Thick saliva coated her throat; she couldn't speak, but knew that conversation wouldn't trump the shot of an arrow or two. Even if said arrows turned out nearly useless against the enemy in comparison to what she truly could give as an expert in the skill. Worries plagued more than her mind.

It appeared that the group had managed to defeat the giant version of the plant monsters that were around, and were now continuing on deeper into the canyon. As Ashnor marched along, he tried his best not to get hit by the liquid the trees above them excreted, having to dodge out of the way a few times.

Within the Museum-like structure they had now entered, Ashnor took a step back as the ground rumbled and a huge black half spider thing approached Ashnor and the group. As the monster hit Ashnor with some sort of pre-emptive strike, he noticed that it's spear shaped hair looked like it was preparing to attack the group. Grabbing the hammer that was slung across his back, Ashnor moves quickly through the large room and stopping just short of one Arachna's spidery legs. Ashnor grips his war hammer tightly in his hands as he winds up his swing, the hammer beginning to glow a dull orange color.

"Wha-- Who--Why!?" Celestine flailed around a bit as - for once - she found herself on the opposite end of a glomping. Turning around, she grinned at the familiar face and returned the hug. "@Cherish! I have not done you a seeing for many times." Cel casually reached up to play with Cherish's left ear.

"Many of the peoples are doing a fight of a squidbeast thingy, so I was thinking I would do a join. Otherwise, I would be doing myself the loneliness."

    Later...

    @Grand Witch Majolica

Cel stared at the broom in wonder. Neat trick.

"Hm... Rocky: do me a dance!"

    It sat there.

"No, it can not," she answered as if it were her latest scientific discovery. You could never be too sure in places like this.

"Errr... what the fuzz is a dissonance?" Cel glanced back, genuinely confused. "Aaaand I am not understanding what the Chocolate thing is either. I am knowing you are usually talking with the confusions, but today is giving me the special kind of 'wat.' Maybe this place is doing your brain a squidding."

Giving Majolica a pat on the head, and a quick surprise-hug when she wasn't looking, Cel continued on.

    Later...

"Sprinkles! Hello." Cel latched onto @Alphabet Chocolate and hugged her tight. People were so much cuter when cowering from scary things, and Sprinkles was already pretty adorable; especially with the shiny-dance thing. "Do the holding up for the minute: I will be giving spider-person a whack."

Releasing Sprinkles, Cel popped out from behind the lady knight and whipped her hand to the side, generating a tornado tentacle which slapped the spoder-beast across the face.

Somewhere deep, deep down in Yule's consciousness, a bubble seemed to *pop* and suddenly, Yule was back in reality.

"...Oh no... I was thinking about Hellshake Yano again..."

Dazily taking a look around her, Yule saw that there was a giant spider in front of her for some reason. The reason, she surmised, must have been because everyone was currently in the upside down. The upside down didn't need no excuses. Looking down at her player text notes, she reread the title of the document she had copied and pasted from Terasphere's player-run tutorial board. It said 'Beginner's guide to magic.'

    Something about magic words...?

Oh, I can just put a button instead.

    *Boink*

Pressing the button, after a brief blue snowy charge, a very large snowball appeared in front of her and began rolling over at the spider as some extra scrambled to move out of the way.

    "Oh. Neat."

Yule nodded as she returned to the guide. Her very first anything in Terasphere was going pretty well.
