Watching the battle unfurl while giving orders, Majolica was pleased with how her team was doing. In past battles, the Grand Witch had more often then not attempted to burst things down, quickly burning herself out of energy. With this fight, she had decided to try a different tactic. By taking breaks to regenerate her energy, Majolica could periodically fire off large bursting blasts of magic. This tactic had conserved quite a lot of energy, though the amount of damage she was sustaining from the tactic was nothing to scoff at.

Hehehe, I really need to get better armor. And get better at spell bane. But the armor first. Hehehe, armor that can shrug off giant spider queen attacks, hehehe, that would be the best right now, hehe. Then after that, spell bane. No more goblins hitting me with spells. Hehehe, I'll just swat them out of the air... hehehe.

"Hehehe, all charged up. UNLEASHING NEXT BLACK MAGIC SALVO, HEHEHE, CLEAR THE PATH! Hehehe, Error Silly equals Error zero Error Xtreme Plumpy minus two Radical over Witchy Optometrist squared! Abra Cadabra!"

As before, an enormous beam of rolling shadows issued forth and slammed into the Grand Witch's targets, the spider balls. Majolica channeled her spell as long as she could hoping to clear as many of the enemies as possible. As the spell issued forth, Majolica's broomstick continued fighting autonomously, spearing all the balls it could. Unfortunately, the damage the Grand Witch was sustaining was starting to wear on her. The black still did respectable damage, but was nowhere near her previous attack.

Come on, hehehe, get it together! Hehehe, I can do better. The Ops are counting on you. Hehehe, give it your all! Hehehe, everything! And then give a little more! Hehehe. Show them the power of a Grand Witch!

Breathing hard, Majolica held herself up.

"Witch Ops, hehehe, the damage is too much. Hehehe, I don't think I'll make it through that thing's next attack. Hehehe, but even if I'm not with you, hehehe, keep fighting! Hehehe, never give up! Even if I go down, hehehe, give it your best! Remember your training! Protect each other! Hehehe! FOR THE WITCH OPS!"

A sudden breeze hit Blank from the side, reliving her wounds as she was surrounded by a glowing light. Turning she saw it was @Bradwynne using his white magic to help her recover. With a quick smile, she gave him a thumbs up before picking herself off the ground and running forward. However, as she moved it suddenly seemed as if the world caved in around her, trapping her in some sort of distorted museum.

Surrounded by statues, Blank spun in place, confused and bewildered as they, slashed at her body. Though her ice blocked some of the blows, it seemed Archana had released tiny spiders to finish the job the statues could not. Within moments, she was gasping for air as she tried to beat back the various enemies with her staff.

Getting overwhelmed, Blank slammed her staff on the floor, muttering an incantation under her breath, "Lady shiva, though you will not listen to my pleas, know this, I will cover this world in a permafrost!" With that a sudden burst of magical energy sprung from her, slamming into the creatures with a thud. The attack wavered as it covered the nearby statues in a thick layer of ice, but somehow they began to move despite the spell.
Blank hissed in response, "How dare they defy my magic!" Twisting her head she looked for @Celestine. Unable to locate her nearby, Blank grunted and prepared herself for yet another wave, slightly regretting not taking a more defensive spell option.

Statues, spider babies, and the queen bitch herself going full arachnid, dropping a whole funbag of bullshit at them. The physical shockwaves, the magical explosion, the grisly bits of spidermeat, the stone shrapnel, it cut through the swathe of adventurers, bloody messes left of the more misfortunate fellows. For a moment, that phantasmal noose clung to him, telling him to pull back, to retreat, but his only response to his cowardice was to lean in on that berserk rage within, the pounding warlord that drank himself drunk on the tales of legends long past.

About to charge into the fray once more, the midnight haired muse was moments away from doing round two with the Spider Queen when @Gwyn ap Herne 's voice pulled him back, and a more teasing grin surfaced, far removed from the vicious madness that he used to push past indecision.

“Personally, I’d love a rematch,” the Flagbearer Slaughterer replied, “But g-”

An arrow, a fiery explosion, and then an even bigger explosion tore the corpse of the queen in half, and Cain pulled off an expression of exaggerated exasperation. “Hey, c’mon, at least let me get another hit on the boss lady before you nuke her to high heavens!”

But that was one task out of many done, and with the most glorious target in the museum brought low, Cain turned his attention to more classical matters. Blowing a kiss towards the ever-dependable @Ashiore Evretto for her wonderful little pick-me-up, he thrummed the strings that remained of his lute, before the monodrama of a certain witch caught his attention. Oof, someone was certainly reckless today. It wasn’t like the absolute madness or desperation that drove him to rely on the constant support of his allies as he recklessly blasted the Bandit King four times in a row, but for one of their more potent DPSes to already be bemoaning her fate, her end?

“This won’t do,” Cain called out, “Don’t talk as if you’ve already thrown in the towel, @Grand Witch Majolica , not when your energy levels are still so high! C’mon, is a Grand Witch going to raise her death flags so soon? Gonna fold before even scratching the real boss?”

The challenge in his tone alone was enough to sew and soothe the wounds upon her body.

“I’m not healing you just so you can scamper off like a rat. Get to Tits and fuck shit up, Pumpkin Witch!”

It just kept getting worse. That was all Janet could think-- with every new revolution the warped Arachna grew more disgusting, shed some new aspect in exchange for another, color morphing like an inverted black widow. The hall itself was filled with scuttling legs and flashing violet statues as if possessed. All the brown-haired girl could do to keep from being overcome was to drive back creatures around her with the end of her branch as if fending off wolves with a single burning torch, swinging wildly, the din of battle a roar in her ears...

A sound cut through the fear and screams, an iconic hehehe which caused Janet to pause mid-strike, each phrase sinking one-by-one into her consciousness. Fight on... Her thoughts crawled along like spiders in slow-motion as she cast her eyes around her, finding the Grand Witch among the chaos. Never give up... Before Janet knew it, she was running, arms pumping, unbound brown hair billowing behind her. Remember your training... In one powerful arm the shorter girl scooped up her Commander, throwing @Grand Witch Majolica (broomstick and all) clumsily over one shoulder. Protect each other.

"Not if I can help it!"

She'd spied a path through the fighting and she charged towards it like a bull on a rampage, unstoppable. She threw out another arm and clotheslined @Rias around the middle as the weakening archer prepared to fire another shot. "I'm getting you both out of here! The others are all right!" Janet could see flashes of them as she effortlessly bore the wounded pair through spiders and players alike, wading on to the entrance despite the same awful sense of pressure their Alpha Strike Witch Ops unit had fallen to the first time they'd come to Naryu Canyon.

Ceres picked herself up from the ground, laid low by Arachna's assault. At least the spider queen was dead now, but they there was still a long fight ahead of them. It seemed like they would never catch a break with new threats popping up constantly. Being in the back of the group, she called over two adventurers who seemed heavily wounded from the fighting before handing them some bandages and potions. It wasn't very much healing, but it would help take the edge off and get them back to the fighting. In the meantime, Ceres would nurse her wounds and pray that the battle would end swiftly. She really wasn't really cut out for this kind of fighting but knew that she'd be dragged into it all the same. If nothing else, this whole battle would be a good learning experience and she really needed to work on her swordplay. And get a sword, that would be good as well.

So entranced in her singular goal, she couldn’t help but let out a cry when the spider queen retaliated. Currents wreaked havoc throughout her entire body, setting nerve and sinew alike aflame.

She’d been too slow. The plan was to transport and then get anyone she could to safety if possible, but she’d miscalculated. She was fairly sure even the one person she felt the need to save from such pain hadn’t made it quite clear. Not that there was time for beating herself up over it.

Besides, if she wanted to play savior forever she could've picked up Geomancy or something.

Some spiderball thing clamored beneath her feet, one of many, she realized, still fighting on even after some other big name players took down their master. The one at her feet bit at her boot, doing a good job at getting to the foot underneath.

She kicked at it. "Fuck off."

Once again, too slow. It was already darting elsewhere.

As she looked around, she noticed many of the tiny things were being empowered from some distance source. A few even appeared to be headed toward @Comet and her friend that had dropped by (@Magdalyn), and in turn, Alkaid prepared another spell. A single card, at first, but midway through she decided to put forth more, for once not keeping track of which cards appeared since in all likelihood she would soon need to reshuffle the deck. The appearance of The Tower as the last among them was not an omen she would ignore, though, although whether it was indicative of something in the future rather than her own mindset was not entirely clear.

Still, with the third and final card was set in the air, the spell was complete. Lightning cracked forth, darting to and fro in a chain throughout the remainder of the pests' numbers.

Lamely, she gave the other two a wave. Although they hardly seemed an item, her experiences in Terrasphere thus far made her err on the edge of caution in that department. And maybe a certain tiger might have had an influence, too...

Velka weathered the storm of strikes the best she could and just barely managed to remain on her feet. This battle was certainly a lot more hectic than usual, which was a good thing really. It was clear that there would be no point in saving her strength for Titanius if they wouldn't even be able to reach him. With that in mind, she cast a quick incantation to engulf her weapons in flames before darting towards the statues, ready to see their stone faces crumble. Putting all her focus into the strike, she blitzed across the battle field for a devastating assault.

    She missed.

And of course things would get complicated. They always do. Despite their best efforts, the spider-woman remained standing, and if Iván hadn't paid extra attention to his position, watching for any danger coming his way, he would've suffered more of the spider-woman's fury than he needed to. At first, he thought that the screaming was merely to get the adventurers to stop attacking her. It dawned on him, as the spider-eyeballs came to the spider-woman's aid, that it was actually more like a call for help, a summoning of sorts.

Iván grimaced from behind his mask as he caught glimpse of one of their own getting eaten by one of the spider-eyeballs. It wasn't even the worst thing he'd see in a span of minutes, as the spider-woman's transformation made him shake his head in disbelief. Oh, crap. Not that Ant Queen craziness again. He immediately wondered if Zeus was going to burst into the scene through a wall, saving them all once again, but no such luck. They were going to have to deal with this on their own.

Wait, we're going to have to fight statues, too? WHY?! Iván turned to his commander, wondering what her orders were, when the spider-woman attacked them again. Iván was, fortunately, able to roll with those punches, coming out of the fray better than most of them did, especially since @Ashiore Evretto healed him up. He nodded towards her direction as a sign of gratitude, making a mental note to find a way to repay her once they get out of there. When he heard @Grand Witch Majolica announce her status, Iván quickly turned to @Rias, wondering if he should just grab them both and get them out of there. The rest seemed fine from where he stood. Their commander and Vladimir's sister looked like they were out of it. Thankfully, @Janet Reilly had the same idea, beating Iván to it.

Let's buy the others some time, shall we? He turned his attention back towards the statues after nodding at Janet, thanking her. Whether she saw it or not did not matter. He needed to get it off his chest. Iván heaved a sigh and summoned a smaller version of the Spire's Snow-Quilled Guardian. Along with the smaller version of the Ant Queen, they would derail the statues as best as they could.

@Magdalyn's arrival further fueled Comet's determination to end the fight, and raised her spirits held firmly beneath a strong fear most likely shown on the soft features of a flushed face. She felt warmth for the first time in a long time. As if the building's penetrating had never been a bother. "Shouldn't you be expecting me at every battle by now, Mags? You know I love a good fight." she responded teasingly. The two of them were often back-to-back during combat. Mags kept her in a happier place, admittedly.

As the hideous creation of spider and woman became weaker Comet's gut nagged at her. Begged her to run away. But the rest of her body remained in strong defiance against such cowardly thoughts. If on the verge of dying perhaps that'd be an option. A questionable one at that even while in pain. With the acid rains and sudden damage dealt only seconds ago and wounds that throbbed; the pink-haired woman felt as if giving up would've made pushing through a useless effort.

Statues hidden by the darkness appeared, and Comet stepped forward without hesitation. When her turn to attack arrived she was more than readied. This time around much more focused. Mags saved her, and @Alkaid Zexis - whom she waved back at energetically, smiling - further increased growing motivation yearning for satisfaction in performance. To end the battle so they could rest, or move on. Anything but staying within the creepy museum. Anything but having to deal with creatures of Dissonance any longer than needed.

The earlier attack left Corvella in a very, very bad position. The Arachna swung its legs, sending the knight back few steps and forcing her to regroup with the rest of the Witch Ops. Her right arm felt numb after blocking a blow of that magnitude, but the she figured she still should stand the formation. A moment later, @Alphabet Chocolate came by and turned time back for her; the earlier wound disappeared quickly. "Thanks, Alphabet!" The small girl remained in her protection for the time being.

The terror of the Arachna was no more, and all that's left is the smaller spiderlings and those big statues. Among the fighters not leaving the battlefield yet, she spotted another familiar archer that's not Gwyn, but rather @Comet, taking on several statues at once. She stepped behind her to finish off a statue that went on the offensive, the scene calling back to long time ago when she saved her from the wolves. This time, they're both equal adventurers fighting back to back against the evil. "Hello there."

    Ew. Ew. Eeeeeeeeewwww.

The dead trees had been saddening but still bearable (the fact that they were horizontal was just odd). The globs had been cute. The tentacles had been fine. But now there was tar everywhere and it was in her hair and she had to protect Fjær because if his feathers got sticky he wouldn't be able to fly any more. the Felis druidess wasn't happy with how this place was quickly becoming more and more disgusting, and when they encountered the warped spider queen and the eyeball spiders and everything it just made everything even worse.

Since she was in the back as a support she didn't suffer too much damage even when the spider queen attacked the group at large, although when she released the eardrum-shattering screech Vina yelped and covered her large pointy ears, trying to protect them even as Fjær screeched back in alarm.

The white-haired woman shook her head and immediately regretted it as it just made the headache she just got worse, but then focused on the task at hand. The others would take care of the monster, she had to make sure everybody would make it through this all right. The ones at the front would need healing, so she quickly scanned the people in front of her to see who looked like they were in dire straits.

Nobody looked like they had weathered the queen's last attack unharmed, but Vina noticed that Alkaid Zexis looked like she could appreciate some healing. Pointing her staff towards the woman Vina began to softly sing, a soft green glow forming on the tip of her staff before the magic extended itself towards her target, filling her with renewed vitality and health. The healing didn't take long, and if Alkaid looked around she'd receive a smile and a wave from the Felis.

That's the first time I see someone using magic cards. Do you also do fortune telling and card tricks?

While Vina talked Fjær looked around with sharp eyes, the bird of prey weary.

It was a good thing that Mizuki wasn't easily disturbed or disgusted or this place would have made her really queasy. As it was she was pretty sure she'd need a while to gather herself before she'd try eating something. After this all was over, of course. It would be unprofessional and pretty stupid to try eating in the middle of this.

As she was scouting the others encountered some unusually large blob monster which immediately began to reenact a stereotype hentai situation, which made Mizuki glad that by the time she returned the others had already taken care of it. After that they advanced until they reached a strangely modern-looking construction, where they encountered... some kind of spider person.

The others were all too happy to attack it, leaving Mizuki with some opportunity to look at their surroundings. According to the lore of Terrasphere this world was what remained after modern humanity had been pushed to extinction thousands of years in the past, which didn't explain why magic was a thing now but which did explain why such a building would be here... Although why it would only show up with the Dissonance involved...

Well, no good just standing around. The others were doing a good job fighting off the enemies, leaving Mizuki to move around searching for whoever was in need of some aid. While she wouldn't have minded an opportunity to punch the spider lady she wasn't going to waste her energy, especially since a lot of people had already suffered a lot of damage from the queen's attacks. She spotted @Kaede Hoshi assaulting Arachne with a lot of passion, but someone else was already covering for the Yladian.

Noticing that the rotting lady was also hurting even as she was healing others Mizuki moved towards Ashiore, once she was close enough turning back into her humanoid form and placing her hand on the druid's shoulder, sending restorative energies through her.

Everything was just moving too fast.

While Madison tried to map the cavern (or was it roof of the forest?), everyone else in the party had already barreled ahead, potentially running into a death trap.

As the briar witch tore herself free from the ground and raced after them, she was cursing herself for being just as reckless as everyone else. A feeling of dread washed over her. She hated uncertainty. Nobody had any idea what lied ahead, but that wasn't stopping them! Why care about proper preparation when you can just respawn and pick up your weapons once more?

Madison's fears were proven justified when they came across a giant... spider... woman... thing. As the woman approached, she was blindsided by the monstrosity's onslaught.

It was several minutes before the plague mage came to. Her body ached, her ears rang with the sounds and screams of battle, the clashing of steel and chitin and the incantations of mages.

Madison slowly pushed herself up to her hands and knees as a familiar voice called out over the din. It took her a second before she realized it was @Portia Ahrens, one of the two people Maddy originally explored this canyon and had a brief run-in with this Titanus thing or whatever with.

"Hang on, dear," the witch hoarsely shouted as she fumbled for her cards. "I'm coming!"

Finding the strength in her numb, aching fingers to merely cut the deck twice, Madison ripped three cards off the top and threw them up in the air to cast her spell. The ground around Portia's feet cracked and a handful of leafy vines covered in healing sap burst forth, wrapping themselves around the fighter's wounds.

Kingoda Hyunivas didn't do running away - no way, not ever. What he did do? Tactical repositioning. And if that decision to tactically reposition himself through the door and out of this battlezone happened to occur in the midst of battle? Well...

He squealed screamed all manly-like as he knocked a creepy crawlie spider away from his feet before taking off in a dead sprint towards the opposing entrance. Crazy boss spider moms and freaky moving statues aside, there were other things to find! More important things, that did not have 8 god damn furry legs. He was just... taking the initiative to scout ahead. Of course. That was it. His eyes flew around the torn (and slowly calming) battlefield in one last moment of doubt, landing on the various beautiful and injured maidens.

He couldn't just leave them here!

He whimpered as his legs took a detour, taking him to some of the various gorgeous women littering the battlefield. He couldn't choose between a cat girl or a wolf girl! A short lady or a tall maiden! It was unfair! "Damn it," he hissed under his breath, sweating. Not enough time!

As he ran past the two ladies, he dipped down and swept them off their feet with a shallow breath. "Heeee-YAH!" He lifted them over either shoulder in a fireman carry, then ran towards the door. If his hand briefly drifted over their derrières, then, surely it was just a mistake in the heat of battle.

When all enemies had been defeated, leaving the raid team to assess their options and help the wounded among them. Portia felt her immediate vicinity change and her injuries began to soothe at a steady rhythm, earning a relaxed exhalation from the silver-haired woman and nothing else in return. But it wasn't hers. No, she wasn't capable of such feats, it was another person's doing.

    It was Madison's.

By the time she turned around to find the source of the spell, she could see the other woman a few feet away from her current position, the remnants of the incantation she had used to soothe her wounds still moving around her in the shape of vines and the like. Yet it wasn't gratitude what was expressed on her own features, no, it was the genuine twinge of panic dawning in them for the woman's life.

She ran up to the pained witch and dropped to the ground with a smirk clear on her face, bowing her head to her companion in greeting. ''Need a ride?'' She questioned, even though she already knew the answer, and threw the witch over her shoulder without much hesitation on her part, muttering and endless amount of apologies to the raven-haired woman just in case the whole situation managed to make her uncomfortable. Not that she could complain before Portia did anything else, of course.

Next thing the pair knew, Portia had already broken the lines and burst into a run in search for someone else to grab and get the heck out of there with. There was no use in leaving anyone behind to suffer the consequences of their recklessness when they would surely need all the numbers they could muster when facing the horror known as Titanus. Amongst those unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of her kindness was Iván, another ''friend'' she had met on a mission and had earned quite the stinky reputation as of late.

''Sorry but tell your group you need to go.'' Instead of engaging in full body contact and carry him in the same manner as she had done with Madison, she instead chose to grab him by his hoodie and run, dragging him along with each step forth she took towards the entrance. They needed all the help they could get for the final battle.
