Personality
Michael himself is a very timid and anxious boy. Been the target of bullying for most of his life due to his small stature and frail physique. He utilizes his character as an escape be be more energetic and social. Admittedly not that the mask helps but he likes how it looks. He also chose to make his character short in order to prove that size doesn't mean everything.
Outside of the bullying, Michael tends get along with most people. His awkwardness causing him to try and not bother people. His relationship with his family is good as well, his parents just being a bit more strict than most. He doesn't particularly stand out to most people tending hide in the corner of parties as a wall flower.
He also has a penchant for medical knowledge. Having to clean up some of his wounds from the bullying as to hide any injuries from his family. After all he doesn't want them to worry too mush about him.

Biography
Michael grew up in a relatively well off home. Family making a below poverty income but with his mother's thrifty spending and acute sense of finding sales made it seem more like a middle class kind of life. His relationship with his parents was fairly average but they seemed to be more strict with him than his younger siblings in most cases.
His father not particularly there except in situations where punishment was in order and sorta bullying him. But nothing too heinous. He probably meant well but Michael could never be too sure. His mother was more caring and friendly. Generally though his family wasn't particularly social with those outside of the main family. Which may be very well why he finds himself being awkward in crowds.
School is where Michael found the hardest time in his life. It wasn't the school work as it was for some. In fact he tended to find school work easy and not much of an issue. It was the bullying in particular that held all of his problems. Getting locked in a locker on many an occasion, being hit and pushed, and the much more rare but probably worst in some peoples eyes swhirlies. He had few friends but he felt they were good ones in his eyes.
In fact it was one of his friends who had introduced him to the world of roleplaying and then in fact an interesting VR game known as Terrasphere. Sure it was illegal but his friend insisted it was the most advanced role playing game out there and that intrigued him to no end. He created his character and...
