Roland sighed heavily as he entered into the reserve area. He wasn't sure what he had expected, but he was slightly underwhelmed by the soul tunnels lack of, well everything. Roland nodded at the rest of the group, noting the calmness in the air. Quickly as Roland had appeared, two others left, as those who were fighting took their place.

While they were content to chat amongst each other, Roland could not help but feel the pressure of the situation. Now that Nanami had the sword, the battle would only become increasingly difficult from here on out, and he did not doubt that he would be called upon soon to return to the battle. So, for now, he sat, crossing his legs underneath him, and closing his eyes. The stress melted off of him as his mind entered into a void. Slowly he could feel his strength returning.

Well, it looked like things weren't exactly going optimally for the adventurers. From the glances she gave while patching people up, she kept an eye on the battle that raged below in the wibbly-wobbly orphanage of eeeeeevil, where the boss battle was taking place. She had been told, of course, that Titanius was a giant evil squid thinger...

So did that mean that the Bridezilla down there was just the midboss? And she was already practically untouchable. This was turning out to be as fair and impartial as prom queen of fat camp. Speaking of gorging, Saya seemed to be sucking sword as the MacGuffin was plunged into her and started leaking Saya juice all over the place. Damsel down! Repeat, damsel down! She needed to get @Cain Darlite out there FAST so he could perform some miracles on that corpse with his flagpole. Weird, but who was she to judge?

Slight roadblock though, as Nani appeared to have her third mental breakdown of the minute, and started leaking light and shadows from her twisting body. Rat stood up long enough to applaud, even going so far as to launch a few spells into the air which exploded in small fireworks, to show just how much she approved of the change. Returning her attention to her patient, she got him almost back to perfect health... at the cost of some of her own, as white magic backlashed against her and burned her hands.
"Aaaugh!" she shouted, jumping back from Cain and putting the white flames out that had engulfed her arms. Too much magic too quickly... Yowzers.

She didn't fully understand whatever magic was creating this space in between worlds for them to rest in, but she wasn't going to question it. Dropping out of the hellish battlefield, Ashiore took a moment to catch her breath, surveying what everyone was up to. Many people looked better--Cain and Seigi in particular, but there were others who seemed worse for wear.

All right. No reason that Ashiore couldn't still be useful while she was here, and not fighting. A few people looked to be patching up their wounds. She could help with that. She could do something, anything, to make up for the fact that all her attempts to stop Nanami, to save Saya...

Okay, okay. Ashiore pulled out her magical focus again and concentrated on the healing spell. Rat seemed all right, for the most part, but keeping yourself healthy was important when they might have to head into the battle at any moment. Roland didn't seem fully healed up yet from the attacks he endured earlier. All right. She could do this.

"Sure thing, Healmom," Cain drawled in response, lounging in the Soul Path like the diva that he was, "But watch those fire hands, ye? Would be pretttttty bad if you died playing combat doc for the rest of us."

That was about all the levity he could offr, as the situation within Titanius's soul only worsened and worsened. Saya fell into the abyss, slain by her own sword after a reckless, futile charge, while the others were sundered as Nani finally reached Max Soul Charge, unleashing a powerful stroke that decimated the ranks. And even though, at the very end, the stolen Arbiter rebelled against her, the witch still stood strong.

He narrowed his eyes, before stretching his limbs.

A situation perfect for a hero, but his own EN reserves were still dwindling, dwindling, dwindling. A deep breath, echoing out as dark impurities were purged from his lungs. If only he could do this in a more effective manner. Alas, alas, alas.

For now, all he could do was breath and wait and hope.

That Seigi, marching off ahead of him, won't return as a corpse.

It seemed to her that only mere seconds after she had finished fixing up Rat and Roland to the best of her ability, people were beginning to swap in and out yet again. Concerned, she made her way over to them, asking, "What happened? Why-"

She cut herself off as the state of the group made itself rather apparent. Almost everyone looked to be barely hanging on by a thread. Pursing her lips, Ashiore began chanting again. They needed to keep people as healed up as possible, and though she was beginning to feel the familiar pressure at her temples that was telling her she was running low on energy, she disregarded it. Their survival was more important right now, and she wasn't in critical danger at the moment. She'd survive. The others, if she couldn't keep them healthy, would not.

Reaching the first person she could, she directed the spell's energy towards Gwyn, easing the worst of the wounds she sustained.

A groaning figure slowly levitates towards the reserve party. A faint veil of light surrounding her. Much like the bubbles that carried the party here to begin with.

Saya groaned again as she limply floated 'laying down'. A large bloody gash was in her lower torso but it was not bleeding at all. It had clotted and left a pretty nasty scar.

"Des... thanks but... this was supposed to go... different."

She closed her eyes and sighed. She had failed and that was that. That didn't mean it was over. She still had....

"Like...urgh. If only I had gotten to release my spiritual Arbiter... I know using it outside of Arch Angel is bad but... urrrrgh... I better shut up... My body took way more damage than usual... reminds me that regardless...I'm like...still human. You guys...doing ok?"

Roland sat patiently, closing his eyes and blocking out the world. It was strangely peaceful within the soul path, which made it surprisingly easy to meditate. Controlling his breathing, Roland, took long labored breaths as his pulse slowed, enveloping the warrior in a sense of calm euphoria. Pulling himself deep within, Roland felt his mind enter a void, bathed in darkness his soul rested oblivious to the healing done to his body.

Slowly he descended into a state of tranquility. Wrapping his mental presence in the bliss that was meditation. Those around Roland would see a small smile creep across his lips as his breathing became so deep it seemed as if he was asleep. "Its almost time..." he thought to himself, his words echoing through his mind.

Well, this sucked his body was in levels of wonderfully painful pain, and it was one of those times, and with the effects, the dissonance was having it was like he saw double and his body was slow to react. He was going to have to deal with that in the long run if he was to be able to fight effectively. Resting on the ground and picking out his bottle placing it back into his jacket pocket, he would need that later. It was going to be a long day, but at least he could feel his rib working themselves back together, it would be some time before he was able to full fighting health if his UI was to be believed he needed to get to at least one hundred health before jumping back in. Or else the crazy one would kill him in no time.

Picking up the cup of wine that he had poured earlier and taken a nice long drink, there we go that was the right stuff. The pain was dying down in the presence of the alcohol, and that was something a man could appreciate. However it seemed the surprised just kept coming as the star maiden wasn’t death well damn, he wonders what it would take to kill one of them. She has just impaled after all and still was kicking maybe if he took her head that would work; you never know who you might have to kill later on. Tossing the bottle at her. “Oye maiden catch and I would suggest you either start being a bit more selfish or a bit more ruthless, a war like this doesn’t have much place for an idealist.” @Tertoria Moving back to his cup and trying to breathe as little as possible. It still hurt too much to move really, and that was a bitch. "Oye sir try and not to die down there." @Roland Rutledge

Deeper and deeper Roland fell into his subconscious. Gone was the black landscape of the void, replaced by a world of Roland's imagination. An amalgamation of both real-world people and terrapshere characters floated about him in a circle, each staring at him with haunted eyes. Some were well defined, like Alpha, others like Reina were grainy as if looking at a photograph. They didn't utter a word, they didn't need too, Roland knew what they wanted. Or really what he wanted for them.

    Answers.

Sadly, this wasn't the time or place to get them. As much as he'd hope for it, the demon monstrosity they had been battling likely wasn't connected to the mysteries transpiring in the real world so he was forced to wait and bide his time. A sudden voice spoke out, causing Roland to open his eyes.

Saya had appeared, and it seemed the battle was reaching its crescendo.

"I won't make any promises, though we both know I'm too awesome to die. but just in case, I got this awesome autograph, music-scroll, or something. Maybe it helps you more than me. It's magical! So get over here and take it while I prepare for some serious ass-kickin'!"

Stupid, stupid, stupid. He held the score in his hand, that magical artificat that the Sunset Sage had left him, and frowned at all the deathflags the martial artist had just raised. She was savvy enough to realize how fatal such a statment is, wasn't she? A shake of his head, a little sigh, and then, he turned to the one that had survived after all.

Falling out of the battlefield when she had lost only 60% of her health? The Warrior Maiden of Tertoria wasn't nearly as incomprehensible as adventurers that regularly dipped to the very depths of their life, hm? But she still lived. Her existence as a 'banner' still burned.

"No one has died yet," Cain spoke, rising from the ground, "And we have finally forced the monster to reveal its true form. Take a break and join us when you've cooled your head, Lady Saya. You're still a potent ally without your sword."

Beside him, Roland stood up, the Duke recharged from his deep meditation.

"For now though, enjoy the show. Wouldn't be the first time us adventurers dealt with such a terrifying threat without the blessings of the Gods."

Sqooble-dee squable-dee sqooble-dee squee... What was happening now? Something something giant evil, something something mind palace. The healer thief had sort of clocked out at this point, focusing more on hyperventilating in a corner in order to see how many times she could inhale and exhale in a single minute. The trouble was, it was difficult to keep track of breaths when you were... well... breathing so rapidly! And when she wasn't doing that, she was just humming the same silly ditty over and over out loud.

Kyupin collapsed to the ground the instant she materialized in the soul plane, her wobbling legs unable to take her weight. She dug the heels of her palms into her eyes and laid there for a while longer than necessary, just trying to breathe and calm down from the encounter. It was horrible to realise that, despite everything she had done to progress, she was still so weak. That she still could not save people...

She chewed on her lip and clenched her fists. "I won't give up," she murmured. She sat up and glared at the screen displaying the epic boss battle. "Not yet. Not ever."

Already, she could feel herself steadily recovering, just waiting for her turn again.

Bradwynne was gasping while he was still holding his entrails that was about to spill from his body. The bleeding had stopped for the most part, but he would need to heal the massive gash on his abdomen. He would need to patch it up later, but as he was thinking right now, it was not even the problem; the problem was the increasing whispers in his mind. And as he had known it from the information from Raziel, he knew that that power had increased in his mind just before he was hit with that slash.

    Dissonance.

It was like a demon in his shoulder, whispering evil thoughts, trying to rationalize everything that it wanted him to do, reasoning, analyzing, calculating, waiting. Waiting for him to succumb to his desires, and grab onto it even if it meant doing evil deeds. And it would only suggest anything evil.

But as long as he would not listen to that demon, or had not wholly surrendered to it, he would strive to remove this insidious evil from the hearts of everyone here. Fervently chanting Hebrew phrases, which was almost interrupted by his labored breathing, he then generated a ball of light onto his left hand, and then let it float towards the person that would need it the most. He would not care if he would fall on the way, but if he could save all the people here, it would be fine by him. It was all for the best.

Well, based on everything that was happening, it was Rat's turn to enter the battlefield. Hurrah! It looked like the heavy hitters were swapping out and the B team was going in now while Varisty Team got their breath back. That was all well and good... Not exactly what Rat wanted, to be entering the battle herself, but she'd been patched up well enough and was almost fully charged. Shrugging, she got off her stool and walked over to Saya, who appeared to have survived but was resting after losing her battle.

"Don't feel too bad about it! I'm sure you'll be out on the battlefield before you know it," Rat mused as she walked past Saya, patting the woman on the shoulder. Smirking the healer thief approached the edge of the void they rested upon, waiting to swap places with @Nalla. She looked down at the woman and gave a salute, since they wouldn't be able to physically interact when magically switching places. As she saluted, her form began to melt and flow, changing from a grimy woman into a beauteous purple-clad warrior of light and JUSTICE and whatever the hell else. And all it had taken was a pat on the woman's shoulder, to steal her look.

Alright, ladies and gentlemen. It's time to handle this World Boss like a boss. Identity Theft-no-jutsu! Er uh, I mean... in a higher pitch I'm Lady Saya! I miss Arbiter! As Bradwynne was still lying down, he was hearing a familiar voice, but he thought that the owner of the voice was dead. And he knew he was so steeped in Dissonance to know whether what he was hearing was true or the Dissonance was playing tricks on his mind yet again. His head turned to the direction of the voice, and he saw what he thought was Saya, and it looked like it was the genuine article, as he saw the wound in her midsection. As she muttered about the amount of damage she took, Bradwynne then said, his gasps interrupting his words, "Well, I would... dare think... your situation right now... was better than I am... right now... All these blood... and entrails falling off my body... looks like I am... near to being dead... But you... know what?"

He then chanted a spell under his breath, and then the huge gash on his abdomen was disappearing little by little, and his entrails were being tucked back within the cavity of his body, until the huge gash had healed completely, without any scars. Bradwynne then got up to a sitting position, and it was evident from his pallor that he was losing his energy from all the blood that he lost a while ago.

"We do not really care if we lost an arm, a leg, or even our entrails, if it meant saving the world from this evil god that wants to plunge everything under their atrocious control, we will gladly do it. Because, as one wise man had said, evil triumphs when good men do nothing." He then moved towards the grill and then started cooking. After some minutes, he then handed Saya a plate of grilled steak and vegetables, and a cup of grape juice. He then said, "Eat up, we will need everybody's strength to fight this menace."
