Problem after problem had sprung in this body of Titanius, which made Darko wonder what kind of diet did this creature use, as he was seeing a lot of live people in the area. First the cultists, now this duo of King of Astorea and Queen of Falderen. And hey they even had children that was trying to protect their daddy. Oh such shameful parents, not protecting their children and instead makes them meatshields just to save themselves. If he was a son of these two, he would have preferred to live his own life in an orphanage. He decided to attack that King of Astor who was trying to burn his body, but since all these pesky children were blocking their attacks, he should target them first. Conjuring a black cloud again as he chanted Latin phrases, black chains started to fly from the black cloud, and assault every child as should be needed to clear the path against King Astor.

_____Well things had gone from un-amusing to annoying. First the black smoke, then the notice the eye was gone, and now there was two people who ‘SHOULD’ have been on their side attacking them. Kaede grumbling loudly as she adjusted her frame and tried to ignore the beeping health bar sounds. Taking a moment to notice things before Kaede decided to least do something worth while when she could.

_____Frame rushing forward while the others Fought the other versions of D'va. If Kaede was to die she would die on her own terms. Jumping as high as she could to avoid getting impaled to early before trying to reach for D'va's breast and giving her best effort in feeling her up. With nothing else to lose if she survived Kaede looked to the group while still enjoying the texture.

"If Im'a die here, least i die going to do what i like doing most. Yall better kick this thing's ass!"

_____Frame glowing more as Kaede grinned and tried one last thing before fully giving up on the fight. The air rushing behind Kaede as she opened a black hole as close to the two threats as she could, ready to pull herself and them into the real darkness if it could help the others out. Her last heroic attempt, if only she was not still massaging the queen while she did it.

Death had begun to spread all around him as the chamber shifted from a fleshy material into a sharp and stone-like structure. Changes to the arena also brought about the arrival of two new enemies who the group were already too familiar with: The Falderen Queen and the King of Astorea. The latter was quick to attack the raid party with a sea of fire from the sky while the former moved to protect the pyromancer. With the fight in much closer quarters now Alric decided to switch to a melee strategy; running in and using the quick movements of his knife to slash at D’va.

Things to do everywhere. Once things were marginally less dire in the soul plane, there was still the matter of the body fight to take care of. What had happened to the large group of warriors who had set out to destroy the physical form of this abomination?

If things were going well for them, then there was nothing to worry about. But if not... then Ashiore couldn't live with herself if she didn't contribute to that fight as well in some way.

"Ivan!" she called out, hoping he was still listening. "I'm returning to the physical plane. I'm going to help the rest fight the body."

For a moment nothing happened, until the faintly nauseous sensation of traveling through different dimensions overtook her. Slamming her eyes shut, she waited for it to recede before opening them again. A frantic energy filled the air and the sound of battle echoed in the cavernous space she found herself in. This was where they were fighting Titanius...? It didn't look anything remotely similar to the tentacled beast that stretched through the-

As she scanned the area, her eyes widened as she caught sight of two familiar figures. Astor, and Queen D'vangelline? But... no, what was going on here? What was happening? Too many questions, not enough time to even contemplate getting answers.

That two allies were turned against them wasn't the only horrific thing around. People around her were deforming, mutating, miniature tentacles slithering out of pus-leaking sores. They were degenerating, not dissimilar to what her own body was undergoing. Then it hit her, all at once, the sensation of something thick and dark pressing upon her very soul. Des and her brand of magic had kept it at bay in the core, but out here? She most certainly could feel it.

There was someone nearby who was worse off than she was, though. Pulling herself together, she grabbed onto @Yukisa's arm and murmured a soothing spell, trying to magic away the dark corruption that seemed so close to overtaking him. "Hey!" she said as soon as the spell was done, "are you all right? What's happening? Where is Titanius?"

With the dark could her vision was impaired. She could only hear the screams and odd sounds and feel the ground changing. Luckily it soon was gone and before her eyes, a completely changed area appeared. Smaller, solid, but Ilusa did not have time to check it, not when with the light descending and black fire appearing, everything..

    Changed.

“W-wha-?” A half aborted question spilled from her lips when she saw both figures, even if her attention, all of it was on only one of them. The colours were different. But he was so painfully familiar. The hairstyle was the one she rarely saw, but it was one she knew. The contours were the same, the colours all wrong and the haughtiness was twisted.

Tears prickled her eyes as she stared at him, heard his voice speak to everyone like that.

“Astor?!” It was a yell, a scream with many emotions mingled in it, and Ilusa started to walk towards him, through the dangerous changed shape of the area. She tried to call him via the system. When she moved to highlight him on her Friend List, the one before her was highlighted in her HUD. Her hands shook and she sent him a Private Message, unsettled. It had to be a trick of the system.

And yet a gnawing worry churned inside her. What if…?

    img
    Ilusa
    Astor?! What hapeened with you?!

Ilusa hoped he would reply there, sound confused what she meant.

She stared at his hovering form, trying to come even closer, but it was not easy and then her heart felt as if it dropped to her stomach, when he started casting. The flames he called forth were in shape of swords and in colour of black; so different from the red of his usual spells. The swords descended. On everything and everyone, the range of the attack beyond anything she knew.

“Ah!” They struck everyone. Her too. Few glanced, one skewered her leg. Heat and fire spread. “Astor! What happened to you?! Astor!” It was perhaps foolish, this was but a virtual world.

    Yet, she worried.

Shaking her head, she looked around at the heavy damage that everyone sustained. She would start demanding answer later, after she healed those she could reach. “Trülfar bärnoi dunhyohan-turya, moitrashnahya prëhär. Imsemne ho gresi hjaltär. Renta rura vresti lupre. Drestau.” White light moved in gentle lines, reaching their targets and wrapping softly around them, recovering some of their health.

And Ilusa’s gaze returned to Astor and unconsciously she started to walk towards him.

    "Ugh..."

Feeling that she was on her last legs, Yule relented. She'd actually been useful this time, but even so, it wasn't enough, she had a feeling she'd peter out before making it to the finish line at this rate. Frustrating as it was, Yule reigned it in and slowed her offensive. And, just when things seemed their bleakest in the back of her mind, a gentle light pushed her forward. Could this be the legendary 'Sacred Seal' ?! Yule didn't have time to look, but she shouted her thanks in its general direction anyway.

    "You have my thanks!" (@Ceres)

With that little push, Yule tried a calmer, more controlled offensive on the lightbulb people. Forming a ball of water in front of herself once more, rather than launching the whole thing fully monty, she instead conjured up the mental image of a hose and shot a highly pressurized 'beam' of cutting water. And keeping up with the rate of the dispersing water shield before her, Yule conjured more water to replenish it. It was a one-woman Phalanx tactic. And at the moment, it was the best she could do.

Even if he had fallen, Yukisa was more than prepared to get up and fight again… except as he stood, his legs felt like jello. If he hadn’t looked down to see that they were still there, then he would’ve sworn they were melding with the hardened ground beneath his feet. The world was spinning around him, and something whispered in his ear:

Give in. Give in. Give in.

A choking sensation caught his throat, and he lifted his hands to his neck as he entered a coughing fit. It was like he was drowning in a sea of tar, each breath only causing more of the vile liquid to fill his lungs and bringing him closer to his demise, yet all he was inhaling was air. The tentacles around him didn’t just cling to his limbs at this point, they were dragging him down, deeper into the depths of madness. At this rate, it didn’t matter whether he gave in or not, because he couldn’t hold on much longer.

Suddenly something wrapped around his arm, causing him to jolt in fear. Though it was @Ashiore Evretto that had taken a hold of him, all he could see was the tentacle that had nearly dragged him into the lake. He would have resisted against the grip had he not still been coughing and barely able to move, but instead trembled without fighting back.

Soft murmuring caused him to freeze, and as warmth washed over him he slowly calmed down. The coughing ceased and his vision cleared up. He was no longer surrounded by dark liquid, and instead before him stood an unfamiliar female. The tentacles that gripped him were still there, however they seemed much less imposing.

“U-Um…” he mumbled, staring at his savior with wide, confused eyes, like a puppy who was being scolded and couldn’t understand what was wanted of him. The storm of questions only left him more befuddled. “I… uh- I don’t… know,” was all he could respond with, glancing around wearily, expecting to fall into madness once again.

After managing to recollect himself to some extent, he looked towards Ashiore once again. “I’m not sure what you did… but thanks,” he muttered, bowing his head slightly.

Looking towards D’vangelline, he recalled that he was about to hit her beforehand. Still intent on weakening her, he whispered a soft spell, and a whirlwind would slam into her, if not dealing damage, then at least distorting her.

Upon hearing @Usagi attempting to vanquish the cup of noodle that was tucked safely in his ass-pocket, Quinn immediately whipped his head around, though, it was far too late as the magic bolt from her crossbow obliterated the cup of noodles. The impact also removed the patch of fabric that covered his left ass cheek. His heart broke together with the noodles. As anger rose up from the pit of his stomach, the green-haired youth dashed toward the girl and grabbed onto her shoulder with an iron-grip.

“Aaaaargh, how could you, I was saving that. Do you know how much effort I put into—???!!!” before he finished speaking, however, the battlefield began to change as a new source of horror manifested before them, trivializing their comedic routine.

It was uncharacteristic for Quinn to be shocked, but when his former target of affection, the big-boobed lady whose lead he followed in the war against Falderen went edgy with her white hair and golden eyes, ‘shock’ was quite the understatement. Not to mention Astor also became evil, but Quinn had always had a suspicion about the king anyways, so that wasn’t a big surprise or a revelation.

To give himself enough time to assess the situation before he do a Leeroy Jenkins and die to the ridiculously attractive queen glaring at him with such murderous intent, Quinn figured it would be best for him to hang back and use his newly developed Chronomancy to support some of the people in his zone, namely Rias, who got demolished for her reckless attacks during the battlefield transformation and then again when Astor rained flame swords onto them.

With his hand extended toward the girl, Quinn recited a quick incantation that rewound Rias time, undoing some of her injuries, though that came at the cost of her having to relive her injuries in reverse. If she had her realistic pain setting on, that would have been a terrible experience.

“Alright, try to stay out of trouble this time, missy,” he said.

"Traitors!" Alpha shouted, pointing her dagger at the floating Astor, completely disregarding the shifting battlefield. Hector and Potato stood by her side, each both preoccupied with one thing or another. While Potato was brandishing his hooves, muzzle twisted into a sneer as he wiped off the blood of this filthy heathen who dared to try and dirty his elegance, Hector stared at Evangeline, little hearts in his eyes at the sight of the attractive queen. Alpha didn't seem to acknowledge this as waved her blade back and forth. "Even if you are kinda hot now, I will destroy you!" she swore, eyes staring at Astor's protected form. "And you!" she gave Evangeline a spiteful glare. "I totally knew this would happen! I called it! I knew from the moment I saw you that you're ebil! Ebil like your father! It's in the blood, I say! Falderen folks are all agents of ebil! Death to Falderen! Except Stokbon, they have good candy. But otherwise, death to Falderen!"

She stood still for a moment, a contemplative look on her face which quickly morphed into glee. "And death to the king! Astorea is the land of the people; it'll be a democracy! Or anarchy. Anarchy sounds better. TODAY IS THE DAY WE ASTOREANS DECLARE INDEPENDENCE! We should hire Thomas Jefferson or someone to write a constitution for us. No more taxation without representation! ¡Viva la Revolución!"

And, right when she was about to leap into the air and totally beat up the pair using her superb abilities, she noticed a familiar face at the corner of her eyes. Her jaw dropped and her arm fell to her sides as she stared at the curry-stained visage of Ivan Carl. "Ivy?" Alpha spluttered, pushing Hector and Potato to the side as she hurried to her child's form. "Don't worry, I got you!" she cried, rushing to heal up his booboos with the undefeated wombo-combo of bandages + magic.

@Daegon Malak seemed to take the more offensive approach, going after queen whats her face while @Raid seemed to take the more defensive approach placing a shield around himself. Both did lackluster damage but everything counted in this! "Good job guys! Keep it up!" He cheered them on. He hoped it would keep their morale up at the very least. He looked through his choices of actions he could take.

Admittedly, he probably hadn't chosen the best ones. Granted he kind of just selected some setting and hopped into the deep end. Hopefully that wouldn't come back to haunt him... He his face a few times. No need to psych himself out now. If he as gonna go down he was gonna go down. But he was gonna give it everything he had! He then watched as a stream of pressurized water buffeted the children made of light coming from a girl. @Yule He shot her a thumbs up. He had to act as well.

He readied his low level dagger and Swiped his cloak across the face of one of the children of light and with one quick motion stabbed at them. Still not much damage but everyone was gonna have to chip at theses things. "Alright everyone, keep it up!"

Janet's mind frantically scrambled to make sense of the scene. She might not really understand who these people were, or even if they were "real", but there was no doubt that the pair were formidable. The rain of burning black swords from the ceiling had facilitated that impression nicely. I'm scared of what he's going to do next. How were any of them supposed to get to the white-haired man when he was protected by all those shield maidens the Queen had called?

The brunette looked around desperately, biting the inside of her cheek as adventurers pinged off D'Evangeline's great shield, trying to disturb her concentration long enough to break through. What a conundrum! With so much defense in play, it gave the King (who now that she thought about it reminded her of a detestable genie she'd had a nightmare about just before the march to Naryu Canyon) plenty of time to prepare his next attack. As she watched @Corvella rush the center, tossing her shield and catching it again with fluid timing, Janet felt a desperate sting of envy. She wished she could do what Corvella could, wished she could hide behind a wall of metal and shield the wounded like @Rellan Shard and @Rias from the coming storm.

Healer. You need to be the healer, she reminded herself, turning abruptly as if dazed and lowering her heavy branch. Anxiety rose in her throat to choke her, remembering how it had felt to use White Magic on the archer back at the curry tavern. Healing. To Janet's great relief, she saw others already clustered around the Witch Ops hopeful, taking care of her wounds. She noticed @Haru also among them, a fact which she took great comfort in. Did they need her? Why should I? some haughty part of her thought as she lifted her chin, They got themselves hurt, after all. Rellan had been trying to disrupt the shield-maidens, wouldn't she want Janet to continue doing the same? Besides, Janet didn't approve of her life choices (she assumed based on the hairstyle.)

Turning back to the battle, wishing again she was not so exposed where she stood on the edge of the black crystal minefield, Janet raised her branch and continued to channel Nature Magic into the slippery moss, making it harder and harder for D'vangeline to keep her footing and maintain her spell.

People continued to crash against the wall of light, but there was no sign of them falling any time soon. At this rate, there would be no avoiding what was coming next, only trying to survive it. If only he could do more to help, instead of helplessly standing by, hoping for others to make a miracle happen.

Damn it, at least he could try to get a good hit in.

He charged D'vangeline, swinging for a weak point, but his sword simply slammed against her armor with a disorienting crash. It was only the chatter in his ears that kept him focused enough to back away, to keep an eye out for a counterattack, or the inevitable storm of fire or worse that was being prepared. Cel might've been satisfied at that lightning bolt of her's... if every successful hit didn't come with some sort of grotesque squishy sound. Unfortunately, as is the standard when fighting massive, biological organisms, that was exactly how this place worked.

    Eww.

The only real positive thing was that the more hideous squishing there was now, the sooner this nightmare would be over. In the mind of a Celestine, this was the sole consolation and comfort that kept her from downright running. Charging back into a world, where she could eat candy, and stare at cute little chibi characters, and hug adorable little plushies until all traces of this horrible memory were gone.

She really looked forward to this being done.

As luck would have it though, she was almost crushed to death by obsidian walls! Most people would - of course - argue, that getting torn apart by obsidian was a bad thing. For Celestine, it was a welcome and much-needed improvement over any sort of gross, fleshy thing.

...and honestly: Obsidian was just gorgeous. Sparkly, black, reflective. If she had to make a list of materials to die from, Obsidian would be right up there next to a sharpened candy-cane, which was a pretty competitive spot.

That being said, as a skilled air magician, the walls were pretty darn easy to dodge. What was a bit harder, was the barrage of black flames coming from some guy and... maybe his girlfriend?

Cel didn't get it. Others seemed to be making a big deal about it though. Maybe they were famous or something.

All Celestine knew was... she wanted that shield. So bad. Freely summon adorable shiny people to fight for you!? Yes, please.

Whipping up a miniature tornado around her arm, Cel leaped forward and tornado-punched in their direction, hoping to knock the shield from the overly attached girlfriend's grasp.

Carrying her new cultist frog, Majolica giggled all the way out of the poisonous area.

"Hehehe, so, what are you good at besides worshiping evil monsters, cultist? Hehehe, do you like fishing? Hehehe, or maybe growing mushrooms?"

Dragging the cultist frog behind her, Majolica was clearly pleased. Earlier the battle hadn't been going very well, but now that she was back on the battlefield the Grand Witch figured the battle was in the bag.

"Hehehe, even if this monster is tough, it can't stand up to the might of the Witch Ops and other faceless persons also fighting the monster! Hehehe!"

Though Majolica's mood had remained upbeat through most of this portion of the battle, something changed when Astor and the Falderan Queen appeared steeped in darkness. For Majolica who had never liked nobility in the first place, this was the gravest sin that could be committed. To turn against everyone who believed in you, who thought you would protect them, was unforgivable. These false monarchs would ruin the world in totality, and as Commander of the Witch Ops, Majolica would not have it.

From the start, It had bothered Majolica that the pretender King Astor had done little to nothing during her time in the world. For someone supposed to be one of, if not the strongest of the player's, he had squandered his abilities keeping himself locked up in his ivory tower never lifting a finger. For all his power, he had been beaten back by the monster before the fight had even begun, and now he simply let it take him?

"Hehehe, a king too weak to protect their people is no monarch. Hehe, a king too weak to beat back the darkness infecting them, is no true king! Hehehe, whatever it takes, hehehe, you will be brought down false king! Hehehe!"

Peeling out in midair atop her broom, Majolica tossed her new Witch Frog towards the safety of the others. Jumping off her broom, she began charging some magic.

"In the name of Grand Witch Majolica, Commander of the Witch Ops, hehehe, you will be brought down! Hehe, Broomstick! Even if it tears us apart, hehehe, we are bringing those two down!"

Flying out to join the other's attacking the Queen, Majolica focused her energy at her target.

"Hehehe, take down those shields and I'll crush our poor king under my heel! Hehehe!"

Alpha looked at the scrapes and cuts that decorated her arms and legs; the burns that plagued her skin from Titanius' miasma and Astor's flames. A swell of indignation filled her heart at the sight of the yellow-eyed king. Ivan was probably safe enough and she couldn't find any other familiar face amidst the chaotic, constantly-shifting crowd. There was nothing stopping her.

She cracked her knuckles, rolled her head, and stretched her arms, a fiery determination burning brighter than a row of fireworks setting the Parliament ablaze. Time began to unwind itself around her, relaxing her cramped and stretched muscles. Wounds closed at an unnatural rate and, before long, there was nothing that could indicate that Alphabet Chocolate was in anything but the very best of health. There were still tinges of dissonance hounding her, yes, and her exhaustion was starting to show. Beads of sweat dripped down and sizzled on the floor.

Despite herself, there was a toothy smirk that tugged on the corners of her face; an air of exhilaration followed her every movement. "Does this mean I'm a rebel, now?" Alpha asked, the curiosity and excitement in her words making the contrast between her readied form and the goofy slur of her words even more pronounced. "Ha! Just you watch, you government lackeys! We're gonna make a bunch of farms that run on Gatorade! No water, just Gatorade! Gonna sprinkle it on the plants, gonna feed it to the cows...It'll be only the good flavors too! Like Arctic Mist Gatorade. And then everyone's gonna have cool names like me! Babies are gonna be named Frito and Burger King and Colonel Sanders and you two: Diva-Diva Drama Queen and Surferdude Gorilla Furry will all bow to the might of Alphabet Chocolate! Bwahahhahaha! Long live the anarchy! Long live the revolution! We are the sons and daughters of LIBERTY!"
