“No!”

He could do nothing except watch in horror as the corrupted queen battered one of the few friends he had in this world. It was as if the rest of the world had stopped momentarily in those few seconds it took for Alric to rush to @Comet's side. Down on one knee, he cradled her for a moment.

“You okay? Don't push yourself too hard...”

Though the attack had looked brutal it thankfully hadn't been lethal so it didn't take long for the healer to help get his friend back to her feet. His attention drifted toward D’vangeline now. He didn't care if she was possessed, or fake, or whatever. She had to pay for what she had done.

Alric moved as fast as his legs would carry him, chanting an incantation as he closed the gap between himself and the enraged queen. The spirit energy he called upon coalesced next to him in the form of an enormous arm. The ethereal limb imitated his movements, so after he formed a fist and thrust it toward D’va the arm followed in an attempt to crush the woman.

As he saw that he was being helped by the others on defeating Astor, and eventually Astor going down with a barrage of attacks, Tetsunosuke then looked for that bastard that used his face as Titanius' inner body scrubber. He then saw his target: that heavily armored female wielding a lance and shield, that woman known as the Queen of Falderen. Although he knew that she was also affected by the Dissonance, the reason why she did an attack on him, he meant to show that Dissonant spirit of the Queen that he would not back down and surely would get revenge on what she had done.

Moving back to the place he once was, he then would do to the Queen what he had also done to the King of Astorea before: drive the scooter towards a raised embankment on the insides of Titanius, and then would position the back wheel towards the face of the Queen. But as he was trying to do that, due to his being quite inexperienced in riding the contraption, he was injured in his right leg as the scooter hit a sudden bump in the insides of Titanius, and, as he winced in pain, his right arm was burnt by the hot boiler of the steam engine. Not giving up, he continued the jump, targeting the Queen's face with the back wheel of the scooter. And then, as the scooter landed towards the ground, he then drove it back towards the Queen, meaning to deliver furious slashes towards her.

Well, their ally had finally spoken up and had a rudimentary, if crude plan. Seeing that Astor was weakened significantly from all the fighting, she took a moment to see into the future, perhaps she could grasp a glimpse of anything she could do. Her dagger seemed so heavy now, but she pushed on. Hundreds of different pictures, memories, emotions and thoughts flowed into her head as she clutched the magical tool, but she did not let go and tried to derive some meaning from the overwhelming mess. She felt... something. Water, hot enough to be barely uncomfortable but not scalding.

A bucket of water lay nearby, no doubt used to fight the fires that once ravaged the terrain. Regardless, the container was warm to touch, hopefully it would be enough. Picking up the bucket, she tossed its contents at Astor, hoping that it would do something because she truly had no idea what else to do. Especially with D'vangeline wreaking havoc within their line, they would need all the help they could get. With that done, she barely had the energy to keep standing, the constant running around and magic usage taking its toll on her. She was tired enough that she didn't notice the effects of dissonance creeping up on her, hopefully it would stay that way.

After her skin started to boil and shift around as dark tentacles burst forth from her body, Madison stopped giving a shit.

She was running on pure adrenaline and hate now.

The witch shut the pain out as she rushed towards the action. She wasn't sure what needed to be done; all she knew was that these two anime fuckers needed to die.

...after she patched herself up, first.

Madison shuffled up and drew five cards, which arranged themselves in the air in a star pattern. As they began to hum with energy, the woman noticed that one of the bastards managed to take Astor down. It would've only been a matter of time before the other one noticed--and probably went straight for his throat.

Her lips pursed in a snarl, the plagueslinger decided to try helping out someone just one more time. Madison's focus shifted to include @Rivers Asteire in the spell. The writhing protrusions littering her body distracted her, but she forced through it anyway.

Thick tendrils of sweet-smelling vines burst from the ground, wrapping themselves around her and her fellow adventurer, looking to soothe their pain and heal their wounds--if they could find them through the tentacles, anyway.

_____Nyx was not so happy when the king was taken down, her tongue clicking as she grumbled and looked over at the queen woman. She was fighting everyone on her own at this point, it was almost admirable. Sadly there was far to little BLOOD, so Nyx had to make sure that changed. Weapon spinning and moved to behind her as Nyx crouched slightly.

_____Frame soon bursting forward towards D'va, her weapon slowly moving outward in preparation. Head lowered before rising as her eye's glowed red and she slid across the ground arching her weapon towards her target's arm. What happen during that clash however, was not fully known to Nyx. However she did feel pain rush up her arm gaze moving to see BLOOD.

_____Mot that of her target, but her own. Sleeve torn as the crimson liquid soaked her clothing and seemed to gain all of Nyx's attention. One hand moving to poke the wound, lip twitching as she forced it to BLEED out more while turning to D'va with a grin.

_____She seemed unharmed from Nyx's attack and that only added more rage into her small frame. So many people just seemed to over power the small girl and it was starting to make her sick inside. THEY needed to BLEED not her, THEM!!! scythe twirling at Nyx's side as she got ready to strike again.

Cherish's skin crawled as pus filled welts suddenly appeared across her skin. Looking around at the chamber, she now see's that White haired man that had been at the center had now gone down. A small grin appears on Cherish's face as she realizes all they need now is to take down the corrupted woman (whoever she was). Looks like it's time to have some fun. Readying her axe by her side, her grin continues to grow in size.

Suddenly, without any warning, Cherish's whole body is racked with pain. All across her skin, the pus filled boils burst open to reveal tentacles of a deep purple color. As the tentacle's wrap themselves around Cherish's limbs and tear open holes within her jacket, she continues on, enduring the pain as she makes her way towards the Corrupted Queen.

"Do you really believe that you can win, Miss Queen? Because you wont, we-" In retaliation to what she was saying, D'vangelline brings her shield around, connecting fully with the front of Cherish's face. Stumbling back a few feet, Cherish pauses for a moment, a bit stunned before she feels a warm liquid begin to enter her mouth. Wiping her hand across her mouth, a small path of blood appears coming from the corner of her mouth and is left upon her hand.

Cherish laughs as she approaches the queen once again, this time spitting some of the blood from mouth on to the white haired woman's shoes. "-We out number you and out power you, you might as well give up now." Cherish almost spits those last words of her sentence out of her mouth, continuing to laugh to her self. Raising her axe across her body and up to her shoulder, Cherish swings it back towards the other woman's shoulder.

It had been a gamble. A mad attempt, she had reached for. And yet, it worked. As the light sank into him, there was a reaction. His body convulsed, it shook in the air and he grabbed his face with his hands. Ilusa’s breath hitched as their eyes met for a moment. Now those golden (not red) eyes looked confused, looked kind. He spoke her name and she smiled a little, weakly, happily, hope blooming in her chest.

“Astor-”

He screamed clawing at his face, speaking to something not there and an ominous eye eye slit opened on his body, it moved to look at his face. The more Astor spoke, the weaker his voice became and the more eyes opened.

As she watched it, her breath stuttered, her hands shook, her whole body shook. It was pain, sadness and overwhelming ANGER at the horrible thing that twisted Astor (and deep down was worry: if game could twist one’s psyche so much, just what this game was, what purpose it had, what possible applications and effect in the real life it held?) and made him remember, or maybe even relive the torture (it was obvious to her, with the way he checked his hands).

In her anger, in the simmering rage (how it dared, how it dared, how it dared) she barely noticed the increasing stack of dissonance… Especially as she saw others attack Astor, hurting him more and more. Her fingers were balled into such tight fist that her nails dug into the flesh. The pain helped her to anchor herself and not straight out curse out the other players. Logic, fought with emotions, further turned unstable because of the dissonance.

In the end she held back.

There was hope now. There was a way to get him back. She clung to that with all her might, held it in her claws and when she saw Astor being weakened, his health pummelling down, she was not the only one who decided to cast dispel.

But, Ilusa did more. Her body almost acted on its own. Ignoring possible danger, she ran towards him. With her Acrobatics, she made use of the area to reach him and as light shone around her, she wrapped her arms around him, plastered her body against his. “I got you Astor.” She whispered fiercely into his ear, immediately after casting the spell.

“Whesal elsï. Wehsi sal.”

The cleansing light sank into him.

His attack had taken down the King. Rivers could hardly believe it. Of course, he didn't get to think that for long as he fell to the ground from the exertion of his last attack. The boils on his arm caused pain to seep through his entire body. God this really fucking hurt. Like more than any video game should be allowed to hurt someone. It felt like his teeth were being pushed out of his skull and his head was being used as a kick drum.

"At least I got him..." he said weakly. He'd finished off one of the bosses for this phase. Given how everyone was fairing, there probably wouldn't be too much more to this boss fight. Could he make it until the end? Given his energy, health, and the fact that he'd probably just drawn a fuckton of aggro that seemed unlikely. But, a familiar soothing feeling encompassed him as someone must've healed him.

"THANK YOU!" he exclaimed without getting up. He was still exhausted even if his injuries were clearing up. And, it wasn't like a heal was taking care of the dissonance stacks he'd accrued. He wasn't getting up for a while. He stayed on his back and rested for a few moments...

Rivers felt his strength partially return to him, and he raised up from off the ground. He slowly walked towards the Ice Wall. That would be the best place to regroup with @Aristides and @Raid. Surely one of his friends would have a plan moving forward. It wasn't like there were too many options of who to attack, but he wanted their input. All Rivers wanted to do was hit stuff, so he'd leave the planning to them.

She watched as Astor was starting to get weaken and was also getting dispelled by other players. She would have helped but she did not have any knowledge on doing it and learning right now was not the wisest decision, which is why she decided to go and attack the drama queen who seemed to be rather upset.
She ran to the other zone, happy to see that the spikes were no longer present, making moving more easier and less risky. "alright queen. Time to stop getting so upset. Relax. If you don't then I will gladly participate in helping everyone putting you to sleep" She said, more to herself as readied her sword and went for an attack.

After Libitina was done attacking, she was out of breath. She felt tired and could feel her body ache. Looking at her EN she noticed it was very low. She knew that she would need to take rest but she didn't know when the right time to rest would be. 'In a while' she promised her aching body

He had braced for impact, ready to get crushed by the onslaught of the enemy in order to protect Yule, only to be blissfully ignored. Watching, he saw as Astor was focused down by his allies, beaten to the ground and then spammed with magic to try and drain the dissonance from him.

"Somebody remind that man that Dissonance feeds on the lives of catgirls, too! We need to give him something to fight for!" he shouted, then turned to face the shadowed Queen of Falderen.
It was probably important not to actually kill the woman... then again, from what he'd heard, Astorea had already gone to war with her nation before, and somehow done well. A little regicide might allow them to. No... focus on the task at hand, and plot world domination later!

Rushing at the woman, Nikephoros lashed out with his ranseur, thrusting at her head only to have his weapon slapped aside, barely grazing her arm. He went sprawling across the recently de-hazarded ground, rolling and tumbling from the impact of her hit.

In the middle of all the chaos, the king and queen seemed to be fighting their own battles. It was fascinating from an outsiders perspective to see the effect of Titanius so extreme...or it would be, if Aristides wasn't in the middle of feeling said effect first-hand. He heard the screams of anguish rip from his throat before he realized he even made them as all along his body pustules and boils began to erupt over his skin, before they burst, replaced with dozens of disgusting, living tentacles. His head was pounding as he stared down at his now disfigured and disgusting arm, his body shaking as he tried to regain some manner of composure. What was that terrible scratching sound in his ears? People? Fighting? Or was it all...in his head?

It's just a game, his mind reminded helpfully, It's not real, it's not real, you're only seeing an illusion. A program. The scratching sound was so loud. He fought against it, and the headache, and got to his feet. I have to fight. Fight and kill and this will stop. It's not real. There's no consequences. It's not real. Just fight.

@Rivers Asteire was approaching him again, boils all along his skin as well. Aristides watched him with half-lidded and foggy eyes for only a second, then his body rushed forward with only half a thought towards the corrupted queen. If he could help cut her down, then it would be something. It had to be something. He had to fight. It would stop the pain.

It wasn't real.

Madison stopped momentarily to catch her breath. While her magic knit flesh and muscle back together, it didn't do much to revitalize her spirit.

Which kinda' sucked, and felt like it defeated the whole purpose. But to be fair; she had been running around this whole time, slinging heals and buffs and the occasional black magic middle finger at a Threatening Person Of Great Importance.

Tentacle-riddled hands resting on her knees, she sucked in breath after breath. The battle raged on around her. D'va jabbing her lance in every direction, guarding herself with that monstrous shield. Moving too fast for anyone to find a good opening.

The witch laid eyes on one warrior, a felis brandishing a nasty-looking axe. As @Cherish wound up for another strike, Madison flicked a pair of cards out of her deck.

They glowed softer than usual, a sign of her waning energy reserves. A cloud of pollen swirled into existence, left over from the dusting she drew out of the flower growing out of Luna's eye socket.

With a flick of her wrist, Madison filled it with magic and sent it towards the felis.

She just hoped that the girl didn't have allergies.

Jericho was exhausted hands still on his knees as he panted. It appeared half of everyone was making short work of the Valkyries. While the other half were aggressively ripping into the two NPCs in the middle of the fray. Good things were going OK even with their numbers divided on actions. He also heard some words of encouragement and was healed once again. This helped a little for his fatigue he was experiencing from pain. "Thank... you.." He panted still fairly tired.

Continuing to watch the NPCs seem to... freak out? They had been rather nonchalant and condescending up until now. Had they really been doing that much damage to them or was it something else? Another event? Jericho could not be sure, all he knew is that he needed to do something. But, maybe after a minor break. He was all for recklessness but he wasn't insane. Astor went down and people seemed to be hitting him with some sort of non damaging spell. He couldn't help in this endeavor and Deva was sooooo far away...

While resting in one fell swoop boils began appearing upon his body. "W-what the hell!?" He was just able to utter as a pain coursed through him. "Ugh" He fell to his knees as tentacles wreathed and began bursting from the boils. Oh god this was a combination of painful and gross in one fell swoop. One thing was for sure now. This all ad to end soon cause he hadn't chosen this aspect of his character...

He stood quickly and turned back to the fight, spitting blood upon the ground and focusing in on the woman he had decided to fell. Others continued the onslaught against her, slashing out with sword and hurling spells of hex and hell fire; whatever was most befitting the individual's means and strengths. His own power came from the polearm in his hands, the armor upon his body, and the courage in his heart. Summoning that courage up, he honed in on the woman. This time, he would not be swatted away. This time, he would be sure to run her through and pin her down so that the others might tear her apart. As he had done with the Rat King. As he would always do, acting as the vanguard and the shield.

He let out a deep breath and began charging forwards, aiming the point of his weapon at her gut. It struck hip and he felt it bite into the woman, dealing its damage. And then she turned to him and swatted him aside once more, like the pest he was.

Astor is down. Now all they have to do is purify the dissonance inside of him, and hope the king of Astorea has still remaining power to help them bring back D'vangeline and fight against Titanius. This is one of those moments where she wished she had the means to do restorative spells. She looked back and joined the others in fighting the queen of Falderen with the others, where she can be useful.

In the fierce melee combat inside a rather small space, she spotted a red-haired man that was supposed to be crushed by the tentacle earlier. Looks like he has been revived. He shot volleys of flamebolts into the direction of D'vangeline, before losing his consciousness and started falling into the ground. Crap. Corvella stopped doing whatever the hell she's been doing and made the jump to catch @Sean Poteitoku before he hits the ground. Successfully grabbing the red-haired swordsman, Corvella's right foot braked and slid to stop the dash. Quickly switching on the investigation mode revealed that he ran out of MP.

The black-clad knight raised her right arm to cover the unconscious man with her shield. Her left hand still on his neck, shaking his head to try and wake the swordsman up while shouting.

Are you okay? Can you hear me?! Wake up!

There's no response. She had to stay and guard this man should D'vangeline send her attacks towards this way. Should D'vangeline move this way, Corvella would use her shield to bash to keep her away.
