    Titanius Rift V

A rift violently ripped opened in a place that looked almost like hell, the Firelands. The rift was next to a massive cinder sea that had buoyancy without liquid. Its forceful creation caused many Fire Elementals to come and inspect the magical irregularity, however, tiny black dust came out and overwhelmed them, completely overtaking their fiery bodies. Although the Elementals resisted, their effort was futile for their mind could not resist the invasive dissonance. They roared as their fire began to turn into an obsidian black.

An Ynglar Brotherhood agent happened to be on a mission in the Firelands when he witnessed this horrifying sight and decided to contact Ivan, claiming that if it was not closed anytime soon, the Fire Elementals might invade the mortal realm, which will cause damage all the same.

In response, Ivan contacted your group and opened up the next portal, though, there wasn't time to properly cast a protective spell to protect you from the Firelands' toxic atmosphere and heat. You will have to make do with what you have got.

Gwyn tore through the strange portal with a ferocious grin and wild eyes. This? Oh, this felt like a home to make herself. Like the volcano cradling Azog and their tumultuous fight against the Prince, this place was as much an enemy as the corrupted creatures within. They had lost some of their glory to the tainted force of the dissonance, but she would right them. Turn them burning black to burning scarlet and then to low burning embers and nothing more. They would seal the portal and leave, but first she wanted to feel the rush she had been denied.

These were things she could throw herself to with abandon and expect them to rage back against her. They lived in a way unlike her, but alike all creation. They wanted to survive, wanted to claim, wanted to maim, they wanted the same base animal demands beneath whatever sentience the elementals claimed.

With the heat of the Firelands settling into her skin, Gwyn charged forward.

    Silence

Like with the Deva she had felled beside Cain, Gwyn leaned into a newer skill in her arsenal. Spellbane was the antithesis to these beings. They were made from magic woven into life. They were avatars of Pyromancy with all the hunger of fire and all the clever maliciousness of an arsonist. She'd teach them to be unmade! An arrow should not snuff out a fire, but her own would treat it as flesh. They would not- could not deny her her right.

At last! "FREEDOM!" Charlotte cried out as she threw her giant axe into the air just to realize... hot. Very hot. Way too hot. But a thousand times better than being confronted with her inner demons. She played this for fun, goddamnit. Not to be part of some weird therapy session.

Failing to catch the weapon that she instead picked up from the ground Charles took a second look around. Okay. Yeah. Very hot. Lots of fire. And... "Hey there! (@Gwyn ap Herne) I'll let you... talk those fire things out of existence, maybe they'll cool down, urgh. In the meantime I just..." Right, this Ivan dude told her something about a mission. Hopefully, those corrupt elementals would keep ignoring her. Closing the portal, was it? Overload it? Overload it with what? It seemed to absorb pretty much all the things. Overload... absorb, oh yeah!

It was time to get chopping! Clank. Clank. Clank. It was firm stone, yes, but the heat and magma allowed even for Pink Lady to put a dent in it! Clank. Clank. Clank. Slowly, Charlotte could feel the heat getting to her. It stung. It burned. Hopefully, those burn marks wouldn't be permanent. Clank. Clank. Clank.

And finally, the sort-of-lava-spire loosened enough to crash directly into the portal. "Well, I was kinda lying about my parents being woodcutters but..." How did it go again? "TIMBER!" Or... "STONE!? LAVA?!... Just... watch out! Jeez." Not like she really cared that much about others.

Stepping out from the portal, Lucia couldn't help frowning. After healing the other woman in the creature's stomach, her passive was threatening to go off. It took some measure of thinking to keep it from flaring up, she could feel her facade being shaken from that pessimism inside of her that was threatening to bubble up to the surface. "Alice, keep me guarded." She spoke, her chitin armor was staving off the flames well enough, but after being repaired repeatedly during the event, it was clearly tiring. The creature it was made from was struggling to keep up the repairs despite the constant damage from all sides, but Lucia had faith in her subordinates.

Glancing first to @Charlotte Breuil Lucia chuckled briefly, she didn't agree with those chaotic types that just ran around having fun without care for the consequences but she couldn't fault them too heavily. Then next to @Gwyn ap Herne, someone she was familiar with, a girl that, to some extent she was crushing on, but in the end, felt that voicing those thoughts and desires wouldn't be well received... Well, familiar faces were welcomed at least. "I can't say fire is my forte. Lina-- I'll leave this to you." She spoke, turning her back to the conflict, clearly intending to return to Titanius as soon as she'd arrived.

In her place, an arm stretched up from the burning soil, the pale arm was clearly an undead one, but the body it was attached to was particularly eye catching. With a lush and curvaceous figure that could draw even the eyes of those without interests in women, a familiar face would rise from the ground. Wearing soft silk robes, @Gwyn ap Herne would recognize them as the robes of Azogg's cultists that have been stylized after death, the woman had deep blood red hair that flickered like fire and smoke billowed out from the corners of soft plush lips. "Naturally, you can leave this one to me Miss~" She spoke, her words as sultry as her figure. Raising her arm, the undead Lich flashed an alluring smirk before snapping her fingers creating a bright red spark. That spark seemed to set off a chain reaction, an ocean of fire suddenly roaring to life, explosively charging towards the poral before forcing it's surging fires in. Though it had been quite a spectacle, Lina seemed displeased, biting her lip with an alluring pout, as if she expected to end the portal with a single blow.

"I can finally be safe!" Blank screamed as she closed in on the portal, tripping at the last moment, and sending her rolling forward through it. Eventually, she spat out the other side, a tangled mess of hair and clothes as her cape once again wrapped around her face in a veiled attempt to strangle her. "MNgngngngngng!" She screamed, her words were muffled by the fabric, as she rolls around in a desperate attempt to free herself. Within a few moments, she managed to do so jumping up with wild hairstyle, and bloodshot eyes. Staff in one hand she immediately spot the fire elementals. She didn't know I they were hostile or not, but it didn't matter. She needed to take her frustrations out on something at this point. "You there!" She declared, "Feel the bite of the ultimate ice mage! Hyper Swan Dive!" As she screamed, she waved about her staff, summoning a large magic circle above the fire elementals, which opened up a small portal from which a variety of ice sculptures the shape of swans came out of, plowing into the fire elementals with great velocity.

Oh no! A portal to a fire infested realm had opened up, and people were needed to go in and try and save that universe from the infection of dissonance. THIS LOOKED LIKE A JOB FOR SAYA THE SIGNIFICANT! Rushing to the portal, Rat ran out onto the burning landscapes and looked about. Giant evil portal... needed to be closed. Giant evil elementals... needed to be stopped!

img "My friends, we can't close that portal without defeating these enemies first! Terrible though it may be to have to fell such creatures, if we allow them to remain, then the taint of Dissonance could spread in this realm! We must martial our strength and endure this heat, in order to slay these beasts! But do not worry, we have the power of water on our side! All the tears of joy and sorry that we've cried together will create a powerful torrent of love which will wash away the darkness infesting these poor things! Everyone, together! Love and friendship! Love and friendship! LOVE. AND. FRIENDSHIP!"
Again, she hurled a spell of pure light at the elementals, frowning as it had limited results on the monstrous form.

For a second time Usagi had gone down a rabbit hole, though this time an interdimensional one. Much like her landing the first time when they entered the acid bath thingamabob room, the pink-clad girl landed like a skyrim ragdoll. Hand over her mouth, she tried her best not to throw everything out. If she had known rift traveling was that awful, she would have remained back in the body shooting the eye dead. Afterwards, Usagi stood up and eyed her surroundings, a few other players around, though none she was acquainted with. With a swift motion, she turned off the safety system of her heavily modified weapon. Usagi was hyper. It took a lot to take away from her outgoing personality.

    This was a lot.

She couldn’t wait to get all of this shit done and enjoy a bath. Therefore, when she eyed the elementals turning black due to the influence of dissonance, the pink rabbit pointed her weapon and pulled the trigger, bolt after bolt quickly reloaded one after another. Each caused a large blast, though it seemed her skill set wasn’t the most appropriate at dealing with these creatures. That was fine. If shooting them once wasn’t enough, she’d just shoot it harder. Her scowl turned into a smile. Right! She couldn’t just get all grumpy because of the living hell around her and the burns her body already sustained within a few moments in this hellscape, right!? Life returned to her exhausted eyes and the light smile transformed into a large and confident grin.

“Boom boom, on each one I rain down doom! Boom boom, boom, I can’t wait to go home soon~!”

They spoke to her, but their voices were noticed compared to the raging bonfire in the chest of the elemental first to respond to her. The heat curled around its core shifted and snarled, devouring magic to fuel its fire. The strange mottled language of Asymgog was familiar, memories of the cultists, Ash Mouth, and Azog himself blurred by in a whirlwind to match her movement. Even more potent was the memory when she caught sight of a risen cultist. Lucia was present, then. Huh. She threw down the bow as one of the elementals rose to fight her himself. More pressing matters demanded her attention.

The Firelands fought back against their presence as much as its populace did and Gwyn snarled at both of them for it. Heat was a familiar agony. The volcano had been a pocket of this place pulled forth and stoked in the prime plane. Here, all was fury and fire. Her skin felt dry, as if it would crack apart like old parchment if she moved too quick. The nerves beneath were alight with sensation and she was drowning in the pain-excitement-fury-elation of it. This was what was missed. This was where she belonged.

With a blazing arm, the elemental struck out. It was bulky and driven mad by the corruption. It fought lesser than it should. A pity. She'd see it freed. Spellbane's passive hummed lightly against her skin as it fed hungrily on the magic of the world around it and the beast she fought. It reared back to strike again and the huntress hauled her weight backward, eyes lighting up with a faint, lavender, arcane glow.

Her fire elemental tried. It did. Truly. She pitied that it missed. It read like an open book and she could see the mana pathways that ran through it, holding it together like the fibers of muscle and tendon. Gwyn barely noticed the flame-licked fangs of its body tearing along her arm as she punched through the chest of it with a wild laugh and slammed her knuckles against its core.

It fell away as the core shot off across the place of fire, bouncing harmlessly across the ground and free from the black flames that had tried to corrupt it. It would gather its strength and will itself back into being another time. One day it might even offer her a fair fight.

Slowly, but surely, more and more people popped forth for help to do... stuff. First was a woman. @Lucia Mierz, looked normal enough, alright except... she was not. Charlotte had played enough games to realize rather quickly what she was: A Necromancer. And Necromancers were, usually, creepy. Or/And had some sort of god-complex. Then again, how could she fault that? Having control over life and death was pretty tempting just... it was still a game, duh.

The... thing... she summoned. Charlotte stared at it for a few seconds. It looked quite attractive BUT it was an undead. How would it feel to do- "No. Bad Charles." Shaking her head to stop the blushing, the small woman's eyes wandered to the next intruder: @Blank

    "..." Next.

Next up was @Rat, and— "Oh. My. God." She could feel her urge to kill rising. "Hey, hotshot!" She called out to the @Rat. Did she... also have a mustache?! "Could you PLEASE shut up? I'm not going to cry like a little bitch to you about my day but the LAST THING I want to HEAR RIGHT NOW is some cringy idiocy about love, friendship, and peace! Screw that bullshit. Seriously, just... ooohhh.... Oohhhh! You're one of those, huh? Neeeevermind then. I just pretend you don't exist, lalala~" The day had indeed been long and Charlotte felt way too exhausted to talk anything beyond that.

And last, was another one. @Usagi. Three times was the charm, right? Three Clowns, and all. Just... the hell? She was dressed like a pink full-body c— bag! But the weapon thingy she used painted quite a contradiction. "Hey, little bunny rabbit! Are you like the fantasy kid's version of Terminator?" Why exactly did Charlotte even seek conversation actually? Lonely? Pffffffssshhh naaw. She was on a mission and it was time to end it.

With the Lich Queen stopping her barrage, the Rift looked like it was finished any second. In fact. "Mhm... maybe that'll do?" Putting Pink Lady aside, the small girl lifted a rock about her own size before simply throwing it towards the Rift and, suddenly: Pretty Explosions, Quakes, and all that mumbo-jumbo rift closing stuff. "Wee... success..." Good thing those fire-elementals totally ignored her.

The huntress smirked as the core flew off into the distance and shook out her hand to bring feeling back to her busted knuckles. She lifted the other to swipe at the fire beginning to take purchase on her armor, but tensed at the sight of another creature that joined near the fight. The strange avian seemed far more interested in sifting through the ashes with its dully glowing beak that fighting them like the fire elementals were. It also lacked the corruption's grip. For now.

Gwyn moved away from the group, casting them a sideways look before she hissed out a low noise to catch its attention. It looked up immediately with an irritated honk, the large wingspan spreading as it flapped at her. As if to shoo her away? Territorial then, despite witnessing them tearing through the elementals but some feet away. Prideful.

The rest of its flock mingled about further away, lacking either the courage to come close enough or the same amount of sheer disregard it felt toward the players. She didn't want it near the remains of the portal or the barely standing fire elementals that still boasted the black flames of Titanius' influence. She hissed another low noise to the creature that it answered in turn. Whatever magical elements or meaty tidbits it had found in the ash meant little compared to the threat Gwyn supposedly represented. It beat its wings a few more times in a threat display and the beast tamer scowled back. Did it want to end up some corrupted abomination? Fine. No more gentle prodding.

Answering it, Gwyn stood to her full height and snapped her arms out to her sides, fingers spread. She rattled a low warning hiss to mimic its own and the two mirrored each other for the moment. She was glad she'd ignored the fire crawling up her armor and suffered through the faint burning. It made her match the burning of its feathers. They were at a draw, each moving faintly forward and tensing further as they stretched to their limits.

But she was taller. But it was meaner. But she was tried and true and tested and had felled creatures worse than it. The bird flew at her in a blur of motion, pecking once at the scar over her brow before she felt the webbed and clawed feet of the swan dig into the armor of her shoulder.

"What? No, I want you to get away from the corruption, not closer to it!" Peck. "Ow, the fuck is wrong with you? I'm trying to help-" Peck. "Fucking quit that!" Peck. "I'm going to pluck you bald if you don't-" Peck. "Motherfucker!"

    Irene

img (Fire Swan - Medium) A large bird with a fowl temper who is quick to fly off the handle. Her white feathers have long been terned black by the soot she produces. With each ruffle or flap of her wide wingspan, the flames that flicker from where the quills pierce Irene's flesh leap up to greedily consume oxygen and leave plumes of smoke in their wake. Like her master, Irene refuses to quail in the face of a threat.

Irene was tamed in Titanius Rift V after Gwyn and other players resonated with the rifts the boss opened as a final swansong. This particular one leading to the avian's home in The Firelands where she lost her place in the pecking order to Gwyn after a Fire Elemental got its goose cooked.

Megan continued to wave her stick around in circular fashion in the air as more and more ice sculptures of swans continued to plummet into the fire elementals, where they would sizzle and crack as they lowered the monster's core temperature during their molten bodies slowly into ashen stone. As she did so, she actually took in the random people around her. "So you guys found the way out too huh? Must be pretty smart like me." They were pretty noisy though. Ok two of them were pretty noisy. The crazy looking one, and the pretty lady were busy fighting each other. Not that Megan cared.

Eventually, the spell came to an end, and the portal closed leaving Megan to sigh. The fire elementals were still moving forward, however, despite the combined efforts of Blanks, and @Gwyn ap Herne recent attacks. As Blank prepared to simply cast the same spell, again, another swan suddenly appeared. It was a firey beast, at least one foot long! "THEY HAVE THOSE HERE!" Megan screeched as loudly as she could. Quickly she began to pound on her UI, searching for something...clicking...and searching some more before she yelled, "HAHAHAAHA PREPARE FOR TROUBLE! COME FORTH SWAN OF THE ICE!" And with that she spun her staff, and summoned a magic circle from which forth a swan almost identical to the one before them appeared. Identical with the exception of its blue tone, and icy features. "Go forth Elizabeth! Decimate those firey thingys!"

With that the large ice swan honked loudly, charging into the fire elementals and pecking at their ankles with great abandon. Within moments its icy aura had brought them to a standstill ending the fight with a flutter of its wings.

With each ruffle or flap of its wide wingspan, the frost that forms from where the quills pierce its flesh leap up to produce a mist-like effect in its wake. Like her master, Irene refuses to quail in the face of a threat.

Elizabeth was found in Titanius Rift V after Megan and other players resonated with the rifts the boss opened as a final swansong. This particular one was found within the default summoning menus within Megan's UI.

    Rift V has collapsed

Once your group overloaded the rift and vanquish all of the monstrosities that spilled forth from it, the distorted gateway to Titanius' origin realm ruptured and collapsed into itself, discharging dark energy and cackles of lightning that struck the surroundings.

Tranquility returned as another portal opened behind you, offering you a ticket back into the belly of the beast, should you choose to take it.
