"We’re going to do one final, maybe suicidal, combined attack now. Deal as much damage as you can muster together with the group even if it kills you."

If somebody had told Aristides that they were going to die because of a giant eyeball-tentacle-monster today, he wasn't sure if he would have been offended, laugh, or just walked away. Yet, here he was on his last leg of health, the monster in front of him still managing to heal itself despite all their effort, and they were left with one final shot: kill it or be killed. Despite it all Aristides remembered...that this was a game. Death was impermanent. He would come back. They all would come back.

He hesitated. He looked at @Rivers Asteire and @Hanno Futaba. They looked weak, too.

    It's just a game.

He forced a smile at them.

"See you on the other side?"

Then he broke into one final mad dash at the enormous eyeball, lips pulled back revealing a snarling set of sharpened canines, and he drove his fists one last time into the black flesh of the monster, and with it, felt his flesh begin to melt away from the acid. It burned so badly, like his skin was being flayed off of him, like no other pain he'd ever felt before. His claws stayed dug into the monster nonetheless, pulling back chunks of flesh, tar, and tentacles with them as they went. His eyes were watering from pain.

Aristides drew in a sudden breath, and his movements stopped. He heard Rivers cry out in pain and turned to look.

    Something went through his chest.

    Oh.

Aristides only saw the tentacle piercing through his body from the tip down to his torso. He didn't even feel it. His whole body had gone numb, even his acid-burned skin. He was just...stopped, an inch off the ground, impaled through.

    I'm--

    "Ah, fuck."

    And then everything went black.

Haru held firm in the storm of darkness with his newly acquainted friend. It's not that he was disappointed, but he had thought that his death would be a tad bit more... extravagant. Still, this was a pretty cool way to go- helping someone else off the doors of death. Now he could just watch Titanius rage and die...

Oh wow, that was a lot of rage. Would everyone be ok? Worries began to creep through his sudden apathy at where he was in the world. His worry grew bitter as any sickness would, and soon Haru started wishing he could do more. But what could he do? He was without any of his tricks left. And his companion-

-Was by him. Haru jolts in surprise as he's nudged from behind, his head whipping up. "Headwind?" He was sure that the deer was consumed by Titanius long ago. Yet here it was by his side, the prideful bastard. Haru knew that it was dying, though, just like he was. Ha, friends for life, was it? Unfortunately he also knew that deers don't come back from death like players do. Haru looks back to the scene of carnage where everyone mounted up for a last desperate strike.

Yeah, a desperate strike? That sounded way cooler than just passing out. "Pff... alright, buddy..." Haru shakily stands, placing an arm on Headwind to steady himself. "Let's go. You ready? Oh, you too, kid. Get up here." Grinning wide, he picks up @Yule and puts her up on the deer, who finally accepts someone riding it. "Be proud, 'cause Headwind's never let someone ride him before."

And after that, he closes his eyes for the last time. Haru's soul leaves his body...
And enters Headwind's. In this single moment master and beast were one, and a silver light erupts around the mount. As if pushed forward by a remnant will, the hollow shell of Haru cries, "GO!" and Headwind blazed forward and left Haru's body in the dark, blazing alight as a shining comet to strike Titanius down..!

And after it struck, Haru and his friend knew no more.

The Faerin smiled weakly at him. "You are welcome! I hope too, in a big octopus banquet if possible!" Then he turned his eyes to the octopus in question... He was usually a chill guy, but that abomination should be finished already, before it made more victims.

Hanno darted out toward the monster with the remaining vitality he had, heavy breathing and biting his lip. "I'M SO DONE WITH YOU, DIE ALREADY!" He yelled while dodging the tentacles that attempted to stop him, reaching @Rivers Asteire and @Aristides. "LET'S DO IT MY FRIENDS!!"

"BE GONE BE GONE BE GONE BE GONE BE GONEEEEEE!" His eyes wide opened in rage and his fist clenched as he charged. Jumping on a tentacle to kick it and get a boost toward the eye.

"GWAAAAAAAAAAAH!" He yelled while slamming his fist in the middle of the Eye, ripping part of his arm and breaking his forearm bone while damaging the aberration.

Hanno could barely scream because of the pain, before he was grabbed by a tentacle that lifted him and smashed him on the ground.

One last charge. One last push. Ashiore stood and pushed her way to the front, searching around for anyone she recognized. Difficult in the heat of battle, but she caught sight of a familiar faerin woman. "Velka!" she called out, mind racing faster than her inhibitions at the moment. "How would you like a mount to ride into battle?"

When she got the agreement of the other woman, Ashiore nodded, and closed her eyes to concentrate. Hadn't ever done this before. But she knew she could.

Something large, something strong. Something able to protect, to fight. Loyal, fierce, kind. Was there ever any doubt what her form was slowly turning into, as fur grew over her body, muscles expanded, teeth sharpened and lengthened as claws burst from her paws.

As a lioness, she waited until Velka was firmly seated on top of her, and then she charged towards a flailing tentacle. A roar, louder than any sound that had ever come out of her mouth, escaped her as she felt her claws sink into the slimy flesh. She ripped and tore, shredded through the appendage like it was paper, the most savagely violent act she'd ever done.

When the pressure at her back suddenly vanished, Velka leaping off into the fray as well, Ashiore forced herself back into human form, pulling her dagger and athame out in her hands, sinking them deep into the tentacle. Dark liquid erupted from the jagged wounds her claws--both sets--left behind, running down her arms, soaking into her robes.

She didn't care. She wanted this done.

This is it. The moment that they all have been fighting for.

Corvella did not feel pain at all, mainly because of her berserk aura shutting down her pain receptors. But she knew without it, she couldn't even stand or move her body. She is dying, but as the last hope lit up in front of her, a surge of adrenaline powered up her body.

    Yes, this is it.

Even the queen D'vangeline, not being an immortal player like all of us, rallied the final charge against Titanius. Corvella would be forever ashamed if she was not there in the front to protect the others. She slid down her visor and walked to the front formation with the rest of her teammates, the Witch Ops. As she walked, anyone could notice that she's severely bleeding from the back; where her armor was no more, and it's clear that she has several holes in her back that were continuously bleeding. It didn't stop her from assuming the foremost position.

So this is how I die.

"Commander! Guide! Bound Prince! Guillotine Priest! Rated R!" She shouted with her dry throat, pausing before finally rushing with her teammates following from behind, her shield high aimed to protect those behind her. She doesn't expect to survive this final assault.

    "... Rally to me!!!"

And so, with her crumbling body, Titan leaded the charge with the rest of the Witch Ops to take Titanius down.

Fight with honor, die with glory.

When she started playing this game, she had no intention of using offensive Magic. However, now, both she and her sister were in Dire Straits. She felt tired, and when she looked down at her armor, she noticed mini wet splotches. Because of the absolute Darkness, she did not know it was her own blood thankfully. And the rallying cry from their leaders, Lycia fired off an aeromancy spell she had never tried before, the blow back damaging her further.

Velka soared through the air, launching herself off Ashiore's back. She couldn't say that she had ever rode on a mount before, but she was definitely enjoying the extra momentum. That said, it was time to put that momentum to use. She aimed at the thickest mass of whatever she could find intending on doing whatever damage she could. Getting an initial, powerful strike in, she didn't back off like normal. There was no more time for that, it was the final strike. One of the tentacles had pierced her left arm, so she set it on fire along with the rest of her. Another tore through her stomach, she paid it no mind and continued to swing her lance and spraying fire everywhere she could. The only thing that would stop her at this point, would be death. No corruption would reach her for her flames enveloped her entire body with no regard for safety or control. All things had to come to an end however, and the flame that burns twice as bright burned for half as long. Velka was pulled into another darkness, and she would not going back under her own power.

The general consensus, it seemed, was to throw everything they had at the remaining enemy on the field. Emil’s could see nothing but magic flying through the air and his ears were clouded with screaming, crying, and swearing. This was the last step, the last hurrah before the end. Either they would win or they would die.

He swallowed the nerves that threatened to clog his throat and returned his attention to the battlefield. Exhaling, he cast a glance toward the shadowed outline of the creature and allowed another flaming hot sphere for energy to shoot from his fingers and collide with the body.

As one of Sean's allies landed on his shoulders and pushed off, Sean went plummeting into the ground. Ouch. As he got up and examined the situation, his face lit up. The boss was weak. It's time for a combined attack!

Sean jumped backwards onto the wall of the demon, a smug grin on his face.

    "Omae wa mou shindeiru."

He pushed off the wall with all his might, flying overhead. "This is for killing me! Dynamite Dive!" He yelled as loud as he could. As if on cue, he erupted in flames and plummeted down onto the eye sword first, using all his might to open a weak point for the others. This is the end. I'm taking you out, even if it means dying mysel-

Lucia couldn't help an internal groan. It wasn't fair, it was rigged, it was unreasonable. Giving her EN to block her passive from activating. With a sharp gesture she lifted a hand, hate, loathing in her expression, certainly even without the boost from her passive, she was upset, she felt that reality creeping up on her. Darkness? Darkness was her home, it was comfort, the warm embrace of the dark that sheltered her from the harshness of the light. She wouldn't let others claim sovereignty over her home.

"Sylvanas, Lina, Papyrus, Sans, Mortimer, Morgana-- Stand." She shouted loudly, with a soft gesture she beckoned towards the large monster through the darkness with a deep frown. "I am Envy, and Envy is me. My Magic is the power of Desolation, of Hopelessness, of Emptiness. I am Sloth, and Sloth is me. My Claw is the power of Stagnation, of Defeatism, of Stillness." She spoke, fanning her fingers, flexing her palm, the martial arts technique fueled by magical power covered her palm before she swept it fiercely cleaving rotting black lines through the air towards her foe. "Seidou Goui! Through me, the power of the forgotten roar as one, the power of the weak that topples the strong releases it's resentment." She spoke even as the shadows of undead began to step forward from behind her after her attack. Despite the damage done, she wasn't finished yet. Gesturing with her off hand, she gave an order with a harsh tone. "Finish him!"

Of course Yukisa stepped back into the portal. Regardless of how poor his state was, he was far from selfish, and there was someone dear to him he needed to make sure was still alive.

Immediately, he was plunged into darkness, his eyes struggling to adjust to the lack of light. But the moment his vision returned to him, the first thing to catch his attention was a flash of silver-white streaking through the air.

“Portia!” the male shouted as he watched his friend plummet directly towards the grotesque beast, her form bloody, bruised and tentacled. Her fists were charged with magical energy, unstable magical energy.

She seemed to be just as enraged as Titanius itself. Never did Yukisa see her in such a state, and he was instantly flooded with concern. All their past arguments went down the drain in that moment. What mattered now was protecting his friend- no, his closest friend.

His heart acted before his mind could keep up. Just as Portia hit Titanius, causing a series of magical detonations to occur, a sphere of air engulfed the blast, containing and concentrating it around the area of the hit… and keeping Portia safe from it.

He rushed to her side as she returned to the ground, and quickly seized a hold of her arm before she could continue her rampage. “Portia- no… Rushi!” he called her name again, before pulling her into a tight embrace, clinging as though his life depended on it. “Calm down, please. You’re all hurt, crap…” he muttered, his voice filled with sorrow.

After fretting over her endlessly, his expression changed. Somehow, it looked bloodthirsty. And that bloodthirst was directed towards the being that caused Portia’s pain: Titanius.

“This is our fight now, Rushi,” Yukisa told her firmly, and for once he sounded determined.

Though he was slightly taken aback by her pushing him away so coldly, he soon realized that it wasn’t out of cruelty. She was right. It was time to contribute their part into this final attack.

And so they charged at the beast once more… but this time, side by side.

Every powerful blast created by Portia was contained by Yukisa’s air spheres. Whenever he prepared for a strike, she launched him into the air for the extra momentum. Each impactful blow she dealt with her fists was soon followed up with the thrust of a spear from him. Lightning mixed with powerful arcane magic.

Every single attack, every single movement, was their combined effort.

Celestine had insisted coming into this that wasn't gonna let herself die. After all, she had healing fairies, illusions, and even an emergency teleport out. Really, if she wanted out, it would be all too easy.

...but this darn squid was everything she despised! Ugly, hideous, tormenting cute things... etc. As your typical, friendly, neighborhood immortal, she could not let this fly.

"Surgei!" Cel picked out the familiar face from just ahead and latched onto the girl with a hug. "Cindi? Cinder? Sei-- Oh, whatever your name is! Let us do us the final attack of ugly squidbeast!"

Muttering a spell as quickly as she could manage, Cel unleashed a chained bolt of lightning against everyone in the area. At first, it could be interpreted as an attack against the party, and it sure hurt like one, but once the pain had subsided, their bodies would be left glowing a faint blue, while their fists and weapons would release an occasional spark.

"Give the squidbeasty the good zappings for me!"

Cel gave the cute hero (@Seigi) one last squeeze for good luck, before haphazardly running forward and downright exploding into a flurry of electrical bursts.

    Shooting star, shooting star,
With this final strike, inflict extinction upon my foe.
    Amethyst, Azure, Magenta, Cobalt
    Converge and Culminate
I declareth myself the Flagbearer of Miracles.
    The Bringer of Ruination.

It still lived, it still breathed, but so did he. Even as his body broke under the strain of his own magic, Cain held strong, his failing body refusing to bow. Naught but hatred, naught but wrath. Blood dripped upon the flesh-stained ground, slender fingers naught but a mess. He wiped the sweat off his face, leaving red lines upon pale skin. Those imaginary veins were burning him, the arcane flow unceasing, un relenting, while the phantasmal noose did what it could to pull him back. Escape. Log out if he had to. In his dark eyes, all he could see was death, death, death. Failures upon failures, each one decreasing the chance that they had for victory.

But this wasn’t about victory. This was revenge. Always revenge.

A scarlet path to the Rose Bitch for what they did to Eldhi.

A nightmare crawl to the Falderen King for what they did to Ursa.

And now, a descent into fury and madness for what they did to Seigi.

Never without reason. Never for an intangible faction, an empty country, meaningless pride.

For an individual, he was willing to cast aside his humanity and tear out the throat of his foes with his fangs alone! He was Flagbearer! He was Slaughterer! He was Blessed! He was Cursed!

He was Cain Darlite, who could only offer condolences and vengeance.

She was Danielle Song, who could only push forward and forward while others fell behind her.

The Titan, the Lance, the Symphony, the Conductor all broke apart, unfurling for a final time as he tossed his Lute into the air, pushing all his power into it for a final blow. It expanded, blooming like a blue rose, a moonlit meteor that chased away the aberrant blackness.

A falling star, brimming with human might, human agony, human wrath.

He raised his broken hand into the air as his body withered.

A final declaration from the crimson eyed Muse.

Seigi was done. Beyond done. The shady Titania thing was doing guerilla warfare. Slicing. Snatching. Gnawing. Killing. One by one, they got culled. One by one, they kept falling. This could not continue. It was like the Core, mere minutes ago, all over again.

Did she miss a limb? Or two? It did not matter. Together, they would stand. Together, they would fight. The orange-hair could feel how her strength was leaving her. The Core had taken too much of a toll on her dice-luck.

There was just one... last thing, one idea. "Mizuki! And... you, and you! Oh, also you!" Seigi pointed at @Gwyn ap Herne @Blake Elgis, @Rellan Shard, and @Ueno Mizuki. "I'll keep it short. You all look like punch people. Punch people are awesome. You know what's even better?" Mizuki was already aware of that. Maybe the dissonance was getting to Seigi, as she showed a slightly maniacal grin. "Ever wanted to be a Human, err, Felis Bullet?"

This time... she would do it four times!

"My Strength can destroy Mountains!" A little bit of an exaggeration... maybe? There was also... right, this girl, she knew her. "And the strange-speaking one!" Seigi tried to look behind herself towards the glomping girl. "You got lightning-magic ri— Aaahhh, yeah, a zap. Alright. Same page, good."

"Now, ARE YOU READY?" Seigi walked up each, except Celestine, and simply grabbed them, their weights nothing more but mere pebbles in front of Seigi's Heroic Might. Maybe they went even together first and made some weird hero-formation, too! Because, Anime.

"YOU BETTER BE READY! SHOW THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE WHAT WE ARE MADE OF." With that, Seigi strained all her muscles in her legs before jumping up, high into the air, together with the four. "The Quad Lightning Strike that Pierces All — THORHAMMER!"

Thus, finally, the four Martial Arts users became living projectiles. Accelerated through sheer brute-force, gravity and the power of frost-fire-lightning-mumbo-jumbo-magic-things.

"GOOOOO!" She threw them, all together, one after the other? Her vision and senses were already leaving her, so she couldn't be too sure. Though, even so, she could clearly make out the disgusting Gaze that was Titanius nonetheless. "VICTORY DRAWS NEAR!"

The Gaze rose before Ash, a serpent in the dark, a voice in his mind whispering to surrender, to run, to do anything other than face down the abomination before him. Its maw opened wide, a gullet that countless others had fallen into, offering an an inevitable, fruitless death.

    To hell with that thinking!

How much death had occurred in the belly of the beast? How many regrets and grudges filled the air? The wailing words of lives cut short by Titanius' will, fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters and children, all swallowed up, body first, and soul shortly after? Even the last thoughts of players, those who had given their all in a fight that wasn't truly theirs to fight, whispered in his ears.

Perhaps this was simply a game. Perhaps all this death didn't matter. But then again, it was up to him to decide what mattered or not, right?

    He'd made his choice.

"Why fear death? Today, it walks with us as a friend!" God, did he really say that? What kind of corny piece of garbage was this game making him...

He closed his eyes and poured his energy into the spirits that filled the chamber, and when that feeble reservoir ran dry he began burning vitality to finish the job. They rose, wounded spectres wreathed in wisplight, soldiers willing to fight not just to the death, but beyond. To them he would give a final counterattack, a chance to avenge their own deaths and go to their rests unburdened. Perhaps it wasn't his fight. But it was certainly theirs.

They went into war one last time, offering wisdom and warnings to still living allies, adding their borrowed energy into the woven spellcraft of the mages and mending the wounds of those who had not yet crossed over. For some, the simple chance of a goodbye was all they truly wanted, and Ash gave freely to all those purposes.

A legion of ghosts went into war one last time, offering wisdom and warnings to still living allies, adding their borrowed energy into the woven spellcraft of the mages and mending the wounds of those who had not yet crossed over. For some, the simple chance of a goodbye was all they truly wanted, and Ash gave freely to all those purposes.

The sounds of the battlefield grew muffled around him. "Don't fear death," he muttered, pushing, pushing, his mind clouding, a brief thought of is this what death is like for real? floating through his mind before he burned that too, throwing it to the pyre. Let it be worth it. Please, let it be worth it...

Sound and pain faded, a comforting blanket of darkness on his mind. The last of his vitality finally spent, Ash's body fell to the hungry maws of Titanius.

Add a Bunch of Ghost Friends to a Combined Attack
    96 + 78 + 20 = 194
    Tracker / Roll
    Combined Attack: 2148
