A deep breath of night air was taken. Although it wasn't exactly night. It was pretty early in the morning but the sun should have at least begun to rise. Yet, here was a land bathed in darkness. The unnatural cold left behind by the very atmosphere being sucked away made it feel like mid winter out here. Soon enough, even that will be gone.
The petite frame of the Disciple of Ella stood alone slightly away from the cliff edges where the great Dissonance lurked. She remained motionless however at her feet was a dim ring of light that slowly throbbed as if along with her own heartbeat. The fog that had risen from the canyon was enough to know... it was awake and only a matter of time before the 'special people with their connection to another universe' as the Caenis put it, would face this great challenge.
Today will be a day of blazing bright souls. Or the conceptual devouring of them.
Unfortunately, the timing of everything was not perfect. This would lead to complications to the plan. There was one person missing and that person....

Saya. Saya.... hallo?
Des made a connection telepathically with the Guardian Angel as she continued to eye the canyon.

HEYA! Y-Yeah, so I'm like heading that way now! I'm a bit late! Give me a few hours!
Des' eye lids lowered for a split second before she nodded. Saya was sometimes dreadfully late for things and this was a pretty bad time to be. There were a large number of people in both Tertoria and Astorea counting on this to succeed before the otherworldly entity becomes too much to deal with. If it wasn't already in many cases...

....Gut. Judas and Priscilla already have their troops ready and have begun to descend the western cliffs. Saya I'm counting on you. Many others are you know. This will be your final time having to face this creature. Don't be late to your own finale. I cannot begin a soul delve without you cutting the way for them.
Des couldn't help but chuckle at the irony of that. The aura of Dissonance only grew more and more around her but she remained completely relaxed although the light below her had become a bit faster in it's speed.

Yeah! I know! I know! I'm on Izanagi and pushing him hard. I won't miss this, like, I promise! Jeeze Des, you have more faith in me than that don't you!?
Des nodded as she made a disconnect with Saya. By now, the Astorean's were facing the beginning of what would be a fierce foe. The Dissonance's aura already trying to claim them. It was time to put up the field. It will only slow the inevitable but it would surely buy them the time they needed.
Of course....
The silver haired girl gave a small sigh as a black blast of energy collided with her back. It evaporated before it could reach her coat as if she was within a invisible bubble.

Entschuldigung.
A large black creature came from the fog behind her. It loomed over her and it's formless limbs writhed in her direction as she continued to remain with her back to it.

You know I'm here? Then you know what this will be? You are.... has Nyarlieth decided to help you? A god... besorgt? Nein...
A pale hand ran through her silver locks as the creature again made a attack. White sparkles blew from strands of hair and hit the creature behind her. It disintegrated instantly.
Her eyes closed.
Her hands came together with the palms flat.
They began to spread apart.
A long rod appeared and grew in length along with her hands. Eventually a entire staff with a large ornate sphere inlaid with a star levitate between her hands. She grasped it with one and slowly twirled it in front of her. Energy flew off it, running over her form.
The Anti Dissonance Field began to spread to every corner of the Canyon. from the tips of the north to the deepest south...
Now to wait for the chance to open a path to a forgotten soul.
