“AHAHA, you have got some balls, blondie. I like you,” Rudiford let an uproarious laugh escape as he had his head turned toward @Kessler Cole. Rudi was often a lone wolf so he had never expected to become friends with anyone so quickly before, but in this moment where everything was going to shit and the only thing players have left that wasn’t a deus ex machina was one another and the bond they have developed over the course of the battle.

After he drew a deep breath into his quivering lungs, he followed the young knight, watching him fighting literally darkness with abandon, yet he struggled. Rudiford didn’t exactly know how combined attacks work, considering he was new to the game, but he trusted his instinct and let his gut feelings do the rest of the work. Dashing up to Kessler, he tossed away his shitty weapon and tried holding Kessler back.

“Whoa, easy there, cowboy. Lets just try and improvise this combined attack thing. Come with me, this way.” Rudiford said as he signaled for Kessler to follow him.

Once they were at least 30 feet or so away from the giant monstrosity, he received a bro-fist from the guy he might die with before he signaled him to start running.

“Alright, we’re just going to run together with his lance and use that two-man momentum to blast through the thing’s body. You got it, knight guy? Use every once of your body to run. Call out to anyone you see on the way so they can join in and help increase our joust. After that, I pray that we kill it,” he grinned.

Majolica finished her spell and yet the monster was still up.

Hehehehe, why won't you die.... hehe.

Suddenly, through the Witch Ops Sticky Stickers, Majolica felt her team's life forces fading.

    "Titan... Guide... hehe."

They can't go down in vain! Hehehe, one last attack! No matter the cost! Hehehehe, even if it kills me, hehehe, I'll just come back stronger! Hehehe!

"HEHEHE! YOUR SACRIFICES WON'T BE IN VAIN! ACTIVATING WITCH OPS STICKY STICKER OVERDRIVE MODE! HEHEHEHE!"

This should work in theory... hehe, come on! You can do this! You're the Grand Witch! You invented the stickers! Hehehe, you understand how magic in the world works better than anyone! Hehehe, you're the commander, so command the magic! Hehehehe, I can do this!

Majolica had never attempted overdrive mode. The theory was sound, in creating the stickers Majolica hadn't just created walky-talkies, she had created a network of magical pathways connecting the energies of everyone who wore a sticker. This was why they could communicate mentally, and why they could sense each other. But, this network of magic also had one secret utility, an untested property that could be made use of in a dire emergency. Majolica had theorized that the network could be used by sticker bearers to borrow power from each other. However, utilizing the magic network to fuse several individual's energy was untested. Not to mention, as the energies had to be gathered into one person acting as a locus of power, the maneuver was also probably a death sentence.

The Grand Witch began her incantation reading off lines quickly and smoothly.

"Donut squared times Yellowish over Donut Zebraz squared plus Quiz times Xtreme plus two Plumpy time Xtreme times Quiz times Extreme over two times Quiz times Xtreme to the power of three halves times Bat to the power of one half times Donut times Yellowish over Donut times Zebraz plus Bat times Yellowish equals Optometrist"

As she did, each Witch Ops Members Sticky Sticker began to glow ultraviolet. Slowly, energy began to flow from them into the Grand Witch.

First Corvella's energy merged with Majolica's own. As it merged, it exploded into a the shape of a shield before coalescing down into the Grand Witch. Next, Haru's merged creating a momentary flash of vines before it settled.

"Hehehehe, hold! I can do this!"

Then Janet's, which oddly flashed into the shape of broccoli, before it was absorbed into Majolica. Next was Bradwynne's blinding white magic which quickly fused with a flash of angel wings, then coalesced. Finally, Ivan's magic, a mysterious illusory color that smelled of curry joined the others merging inside The Grand Witch.

Prismatic light began emitting from The Grand Witch as she struggled to condense and merge the energies inside of herself.

"HEHEHE JUST A LITTLE BIT LONGER!"

The Grand Witch was obviously struggling to control the magical energies in her. One wrong move and she would detonate. Majolica slowly turned, and aimed the her spell at the darkness that had ended her friends.

    skill
WITCH OPS LEGENDARY MAGIC: BATTALION'S FURY

Majolica gritted her teeth and clenched her eyes. As the spell launched out, she could feel it's massive energies grinding away at the enemy before her. Quickly, it became clear that the spell was draining her. Not just her energy, but her life as well. Still, she would hold the spell. It didn't matter if it began to eat away at her energy, her life force, or her body. She would hold the spell against the darkness.

    "Hehehe... for the Witch Ops..."

    Everything faded to black...

When D'vangelline saw that the rest of the raid party was following her and working together for a desperate final attack, she could feel the heroism coursing through the entire body as she led the charge. The hesitation that had gripped her so tightly before was nothing more than the memory she left in the darkness behind. There was only one thing she can do now to redeem herself and that was to raise morale as much as she could, to instill grandness in the combined attacks that was happening around her.

Never before had she felt so empathetic with people from another nation as she shared their pain, frustration, fear, and determination. Her father was wrong in his attempt to shield Falderen from the rest of the world, she sees that now. Being a part of something so grand had opened her up so much to the large world beyond Falderen. With every ounce of strength and determination, she fought to live, as a very wise man has once said.

Everyone, I can see it now! Titanius is regaining its health, hold fast and fight it with everything you have got! Don't let it eat anymore!

Instead of darkness, she found a familiar voice and warmth she never would've thought to feel in such a place.

''No, stop, you don't understand, this...'' She struggled against the embrace that held her in place, not registering at first the weight of the presence holding her down. Too distracted, too consumed by her guilt and anger to function properly. When she finally settled at his side, however, and inhaled and exhaled deeply, she managed to take in the sight of her once closest friend. ''I'm so glad to see you are still alive.''

Her lips slowly curved upwards into a smile, expressing full gratitude to whatever healer had managed to keep him up until this particular point. ''Then get up and fight!'' She had the nerve to almost sound outraged at the words of the player. It took almost no effort on her end to will strength back into her legs and push her friend aside, the knowledge there was now someone else she had to protect amongst the crowd fueling the fire that flickered in her gaze. In response, her magic acquired a brand new color to make up for this sudden change, exchanging the traditional blue for an orange shade that saw itself reflected on her once grey eyes.

This was the power of her rage.

This was what Titanius hadn't been able to take away from her when he chose to mess with her head, the remainder of which only fanned at Portia's anger and sorrow burning bright inside her chest, waiting patiently for their turn to be unleashed upon the world and start a magnificent path of destruction with each step she took.

Initiating an offensive sequence with the aeromancer, she used part of her strength into getting him into a safe position, which meant grabbing his wrist and jumping together at the same time, using the impulse as to launch him into the air. He'd cover her from that position, that much she knew.

She clenched both her fists and rushed again at her objective, signaling to her partner the spot which she would be attacking. She created a mess of orange projectiles and blurry explosions for him to take advantage of, most of them flying forward with a motion of her fists as she mimicked countless punches and kicks. This time, however, she wasn't hitting anyone nor anything with them, she was simply using the natural flow of her body to direct the energy at the monster.

The spells that roared through the air when fused with her friend's lighting crashed against their mark once, twice, thrice, and there seemed to be no possible end in sight for the raid team that, with a hope that knew no limits, threw themselves at the fray one after another. Their combined efforts would make for the songs and stories that would follow the rest of their lives in Terrasphere. Joining on the battle were the two rulers, restored to a paler shade of their former glory, yet they stood with the fighters, aiding them in whatever way they saw possible, be it by blessings or with words of encouragement.

At some point in her own attacks, her skin had started to burn as the tentacles tried to put her movements to a halt, preventing the tainted woman from committing any further to her assault. This wouldn't have been much of an issue, had it not been for the orange light sitting at the palms of her armored hands, which, and against her own will, she threw to the ground. The explosion followed almost immediately, just as her consciousness started to slip away.

While the plot was happening, Quinn was embraced by the darkness at least 30 feet away from the group. It was only after he figured out what was happening and read up on the entire scene with D’vangelline, Astor, and everyone else in the story tracker that he was confident enough to perform his action. Little did he know about the natural 1 that was to serve as the basis of his reckless action.

Seeing how everyone’s combined attack were incredibly uncoordinated and did flow together well, the time mage ninja with a cool looking sword decided to take it upon himself to get everyone on the same page, even if that came at the price of his life.

Up until now, he kept hearing about the side effects of abusing time magic from his mentor (not who you’re thinking of), who was a monk that had mastered Chronomancy but chose to give it up. But, considering that it was a special occasion, Quinn decided to go against the natural law of the universe and attempted a mass barrier near the boss where everyone would gradually slow down before they come to a complete stop as they approached Titanius.

The goal was to unleash all of the damage together at once so the ancient dissonance would not be able to heal through the damage it was receiving. Quinn sure hoped his plan work, because the alternative was death.

Utopian societies were never meant to last. Reality shattered a land enchanted by illusion and dreams. The slice of paradise she discovered was being consumed by a nightmare and wrought by chaos. Discord threatened to reign supreme over the previously peaceful lands. It was hard to remain positive when bodies of Terrasphere citizens sickeningly dropped for the final time.

If not for the rousing courage of the two monarchs Shangri La would have felt the situation was impossible. Players were only temporarily decommissioned when they recklessly charged into battle. If she wanted to protect her wonderland then she needed to act. Standing around, paralyzed with her thoughts, was not the answer nor helpful in saving her wonderland.

Adaption allowed her eyes to see outlines which let her avoid any possible run-ins. Attacking an ally would not help her newly motivated cause. She needed to work with them. The question was how. She wondered if she should just join in one of the flashy explosions. However, the chances of injuries with that was too high. If other people were joining the chain and she didn't communicate things could easily backfire.

Thankfully, Shangri La recognized a familiar voice. As she drew closer she recognized the woman from earlier. "Oh, you -" Thoughts pivoted mid sentence, "Thank you for the heal earlier." She hadn't gotten the chance to actually communicate with the woman before getting transported through the portal. "Mind if I join in?"

With her mind free from her thoughts, a light smile crossed her face. She watched as the dark haired woman summoned a wet, mud-like dark substance on their shared enemy. From the looks of it, the dark energy was rotting the flesh. Quickly, Shangri La called the power of air to her side.

Her hands pointed towards the rot before spreading outwards, commanding the wind to spread the slime further. When the dark powers of Lucia could be spread no further, having sunk deep into Titanius’ flesh, she pointed towards Titanius. Electricity crackled around her finger. Was this goop a good conduit or flammable? Time to see.

After dousing Astor's flames the drain magic took its toll, the negative energy and the increased dissonance gave Daegon a massive headache as the world around him began to spin. A strong sense of vertigo overcame him and Daegon when tumbling into the ground. The obsidian was painfully sharp but that did not compare to the pain of the massive growths sprouting up all over his body. Writhing in pain Daegon laid there for what felt like hours before tentacles began to burst forth from the growths, shooting blood and pus all over the place.

The pain and the madness inducing dissonance was too much for Daegon as he passed out. A sick glorping sound woke him as the world was still spinning around him. Daegon tried to sit up but the wet slimy writhing flesh around him made it nearly impossible in his currently disoriented state. Everything seems to be coming to a climax at this point as voices and shouts could be heard and it was as if the walls themselves were screaming in a mix of pain and mad ecstasy. Just as everything was becoming way to overbearing for Daegon, there was a sudden shift and every thing was plunged into a void.

Minutes passed and Daegon took the time to recover, he could feel his energy return as he just noticed that a buff had been placed on him. He thought about it briefly before he noticed everyone around him calling out their final attacks. Final getting on his feet, which was a feat to be sure in this black void, Daegon peered around the room. Jericho covered in similar tentacles seems to have noticed Daegon and was moving toward him with a readied expression.

Daegon cracked his knuckles and splayed out his hands as he mustered up his black magic. Jericho was going to have to do all the physical labor for this attack, but Daegon was going to make sure it hurt. Daegon coalesced all the black magic into his hands and gave Jericho a platform to jump from.

The whole area was complete chaos. They had received energy potions which were a godsend to be sure. He felt so revitalized, like they actually had a chance in this ever growing endeavor. The two they had fought early seemed to stand once more. Wow these two peoples tenacity was nothing to sniff at to be sure. Guess Jericho had to be just as tenacious! Though as soon as that thought crossed his mind darkness filled the room. It was so hard to see.

Many fired attacks into the darkness, its true they were inside this thing and there was no way they could miss! The gaze finally revealed itself however devouring a whole vanguard of... NPCs? Players!? Jericho wasn't completely sure. He looked on in horror of the event that was unfolding in front of him. This was far more than a game at this point. This was life or death. Kill or be killed. OK, he thought to himself, got to get a grip!

The two NPCs offered their words of encouragement and even ice and fire coating his dagger, but that didn't settle Jericho at this time. Where were his friends? Sure he had allies everywhere but that wasn't what he wanted. He peered through the darkness hoping for something. Some sign of hope that they were OK. His eyes fell upon Daegon! Their "eyes" met so to speak as he nodded and his friend to him as well. He ran straight for his friend. They had done things like this before in other games. Why not this one?

Jericho leaped and spring boarded off his friends dark magic hopper thing. He gained allot of height. He peered down at the giant eyeball. "Take this!" He shouted plunging down his dagger drawn, ready to deliver a mighty blow! "HAAAAAAAAAA!" He shouted as he stabbed down and began sliding down the amorphous service. Goo stuck to his clothing but he continued downward tearing through tissue. He went until he couldn't anymore dropping down to the hard obsidian below. He lost the air from his lungs and rolled across the ground. But he had done the attack without a hitch! "Take that you overgrown beholder!" He shouted up at it shaking his fist.

One by one, they fell. Despite the encroaching darkness and their insignificance when compared to their foe, they pressed forward. Meanwhile, Usagi quietly watched on her own, the limits of her “this is just a game” mindset long gone. She tried her best to be as brave as her fellow adventurers, to fight against the unknown. Once again, this situation forced bitter memories to resurface, back when her consciousness was inside another avatar. Back then, before the Ancient Vampire Wurm battle ended, the girl logged out. She left everyone to die, with no shame — what mattered is that she would survive.

She glanced down at her right hand that instinctively turned into a fist, initiating the motion required to open the user interface. She smelled the disgusting stench of blood. Screams were the melody of death. Usagi clenched her teeth as her finger reached out for the logout button…

Why did she have to go through death? What was the point, even? She’d rather just get the fuck out. Terrasphere was realistic, so there was no doubt death would feel like death, and that thought just terrorized the pink bunny. But if she did log out… So she’d just start again? From scratch? Her last logout left her with no friends. No one knew her, that was obvious enough when none trusted the brunette enough to combine their attacks.

In that case, if both leaving or fighting for herself were pointless options, then… She would do it for them. No one deserved dying here. No matter how many times they died, death was definitely all the same. So if she fought along everyone, then perhaps she could save someone…

Returning to reality and out of her inner monologue, Usagi gasped for air and hardened her expression, her puffed up cheeks a failure of an attempt at looking serious. Teary eyes cleaned, she opened her jacket, revealing several magitech circuits installed in the heavy clothes she wore. At the center, one large magitech socket stood out. From her backpack, Usagi removed her last and most powerful magic core — it was a pristine and clear blue.

“Lay leene faura, releese!” she jammed the core in the socket, instantly overloading the girl with the blue energy. “Annleese en taght!” Several magic patterns appeared before her, giving information that was essential to calibrate her magitech properly. She rested her right hand on the core on her chest before chanting.

In the matter of an instant, all of the blue she irradiated was gone, now concentrated on the core on her chest. Her skin became unnaturally pale in response. In a swift motion, she installed an addon to properly use the orb as a projectile on her weapon. She aimed high, beyond the creature...

    Cosmic Metafalls

    ...And pulled the trigger.

Like a star, her attack flew upwards at lightning speeds, tearing through flesh and organs, tendrils and red. It sky soared and unleashed the technomagic fury down on her enemy. Not one, nor two, but several sky strikes rained down in the deep darkness, blasting it away momentarily with each impact — a marvel of magitech, arcanamancy and imagined marksmanship. As for the brunette, a single retaliation strike was enough to end her life. Despite the pain and fear, her last expression was a satisfied light smile. This time, she did the right choice.

Bradwynne continued the relentless attacks on the wall of the stomach of the massive beast that was Titanius. From the fury of his strokes of his blades, he could be said that he was furious. Furious because of those people who died or had become sick of leprosy because of this monster. Furious because of the trauma that scarred the hearts of most of them when they came for battle. Furious because two people or more could not access their UI or logout because of this beast and everything like it. Furious because it had involved numerous people to work according to its nefarious plan. Furious because it turned the hearts of their two most respected leaders against them, that they needed to betray their principles and attack them. Furious because of that Yladian player that got stabbed by the lance of the Queen. Because of that player lying dead with the broken scooter. Because of that player that had been butchered by a sword once, then got her arm ripped off. Because of Aalam. Because of Seigi. He was furious at this person Nanami who willingly submitted herself to become Titania, moreover he was furious at this god Nyarlieth who was seducing all of them to partake in a world of madness and sin.

This evil was so insidious that Bradwynne was very disgusted. He could lash out on this creature, but it should be far more effective if he would slash it until he can't slash anymore.

He then saw the Witch Ops swinging everything they could on this monstrosity: Haru letting Headwind charge through the tendrils with a random person, Corvella leading the charge with her shield, the magic attack of the Grand Witch leading her way. But he then saw all of them falter and die without reaching their destination: what might be the weak point of this monstrosity. Taking everything into his own hands to lead the charge, he then furiously chanted Hebrew words as he summoned five angels in quick succession.

    "MICHAEL!"

    "GABRIEL!"

    "RAPHAEL!"

    "URIEL!"

    "SANDALPHON!"

A massive form of what looked like an angel wielding two blades then formed at the back of Bradwynne like a shadow, moving with his every movement, as he then moved towards the front where the other three members of the Witch Ops broke through, continuing to slash on every tendril that he could see. He continued the violent yet elegant dance of the blades that he was skillfully wielding, even when he was being punctured by the black tendrils emanating from the stomach of Titanius, hitting him on every part of his body, blood splattering out of his wounds as he continued to dance with his blades, until a stray tendril punctured right through his heart...

As Astor stopped before her, for moment the darkness seemed to disappear, the sounds of battle likewise. There were only the two of them and the gesture, the touch to brush her hair away, so gentle and careful made her sigh softly and a small, gentle smile spread over her lips. The moment was broken.

“Who is the reckless one.” She huffed, folding her hands on her chest, looking pointedly at his missing limb. “Besides, patching you up is my job.” The woman behind Ilusa felt… Unsettled. Her heart beat with more than just adrenaline, anger and fear. Especially as he smiled pained like that, looking at her like this.

She resolutely nodded. “It does seem so. For the greater good and all that… Besides, we are Players.”

As he cast his spell, so did she hers. “Strätanë rasjita proushvatën.” The power of light again filled the rod. “Maijilin spöret ne.” To the brim. “Me njamenle.” It had a slight blue hue from the fire. Astor, who ran consumed by fire was a dazzling point of light. And she followed, struggling but keeping the spell alive. “Quojej frema temamar.”

The light poured from her, wrapping around the fire discharge that Astor sent. It bolstered the fire, worked with it to shine light and pierce the enemy.

It was a channelling spell, one she had to keep focusing on as it hit the enemy.

Perhaps that was why she never saw the danger, until suddenly Astor was before her, fire licking his form. There was a moment of confusion, followed by a wet sound of flesh being pierced and then-

The rod slipped from her fingers and she stared at him, worry, horror etched onto her face. ‘Not again.’ A stray thought floated by, before she heard that sound again and felt pain.

‘Oh.’ Understanding filled her. Even without looking at the HUD, she knew her health was decreasing. With the hole in her spine she could not heal, especially as she felt her lungs, or whatever was left of it, fill with blood, hindering her speech.

The horror left her eyes, there was only sad understanding there. But still she smiled. The pain was immense, but at least, this time-

A trembling hand reached her cheek. She watched the teary eyes and smiled a little more, trying to wordlessly reassuring him, that it was not so bad. Ilusa too tried to reach him, but her hands did not want to move, the damage to her spine made them immobile.

The fire was dying. Last sparks were the light she could see. He leaned closer and his lips met hers. From surprise her own opened, but she did not avoid them Rather, she weakly pressed back, a barely there movement. His, last words made her eyes widen, shock clearly written on her face and she stared at him dumbfounded. That was beyond her expectations, the honest confession struck her and when her lips opened as she tried to say something back only wet, bloody cough escaped her.

The light faded from his eyes and she felt a loss that she did not expect, that hurt, even though she knew it was only momentary.

A loud squelch followed as the part of the monster pulled out. It was the only thing that held them up and without it, they both fell down.

It didn’t hurt. And the weight of his body ontop of hers was comforting. The warmth was fleeting. The darkness was getting close.

    The thoughts were slowing down.

    The death approached.

    But-

Ilusa, no, Nadia, did not want his body to be eaten.

With the last vestiges of her will. She gurgled out. A single world. Almost too malformed to work. But the system accepted it.

A dim, but pure light flowed from her, to him, wrapping gently around him, protecting him from the monster and-

    She knew no more.

“Looks like we came back just in time,” Iván deadpanned after appearing back on the battlefield from out of nowhere. Well, technically, he wasn’t from out of nowhere. He actually came from the rift in the Crystallized Zalra, which he, along with four others, successfully cleansed of those crystallized monsters that were once Titanius’ hench-creatures. Oh, and they also managed to overload and close that rift, allowing them to come back to where it all started: the belly of the beast.

Merely a second after getting back in the thick of things and he was already getting dragged into something else. The Witch Ops seemed to be preparing for some sort of combined attack. Iván didn’t get the memo but he was a quick learner. He got into position, summoned his magical familiar that took on the form of the Snow-Quilled Guardian from the Spire, and began channeling his illusion magic to contribute to the attack. Do we have to yell our finishing moves now? He did not have a finishing move.

Iván simply did his best. Similar to how he had closed that rift with others, he was looking to finish this with others. Hopefully, Witch Ops had a bonus to teamwork or something. He really did not want to die here.

Comet shifted from the core to the body with only Kyupin on her mind. The one who saved her from an almost certain death. A pathetic ending after so much hard work. So much strenuous effort against such an evil force. Yet she felt very alive. Very grateful. Comet couldn't focus on much else in the moment other than fighting. A multitude of them going on within - so deep inside that physical pain, no matter how realistic, couldn't compare - while she prepared for the real danger ahead of everyone. She watched with softened, watery eyes full of somber as darkness engulfed the innocent. The monster they faced knew nothing of boundaries. Any victim welcome to be taken in an unjust manner. As if death were something to shrug at or laugh at or made for pure entertainment.

When Astor yelled to fight, she snapped. Slicking back locks of sweat-coated hair the Archer obeyed. Comet planned to stand her ground until the very end. Thus far? She hadn't given up on that plan. A goal that defined the entire journey from the beginning. The thought of going out with a bang warmed her cold heart. Relaxed a trembling body. Pieced together her broken soul. If it meant she tried her best... Wasn't that what mattered? Trying to defeat a negative, horrendous evil meant her own mindset had to change. Even if temporarily. False hope flipped on its side. Self doubt washed away.

Comet took the plague before her and the others in with fear. Undoubtedly, the situation was terrifying in more ways than one. More than ever expected. A gnawing, gut churning emotion clawing away at her stomach and heart and mind. But in that moment - right before she attacked - the young woman changed. Used sources of support from friends and previous bouts of luck and even pain registering her lithe body numb as the force to push her the furthest she'd ever gone. Straight into the darkness without anything holding her back.

As he stood there, finishing up his attack, he saw several, if not all, of his Witch Ops comrades go down. One by one, the valiant heroes of the night began falling like flies to a brand of pesticide that, if we break a wall for just a second, actually doubles as someone’s name in-game name here. Iván was horrified, devastated, to see familiar faces meet their doom before him. If they were strangers, he wouldn’t have cared, but some of them had become fixtures of his adventures. Some of them actually meant something to him.

The masked illusionist gritted his teeth, curbing his anger so as not to explode into spiky crystallized version of his corpse. He turned to his familiar, heaving a sigh, “I know I’ve already said this, like, twice or thrice, but I have a feeling this is going to be it, buddy,” Iván’s tone was dry but deep within he was definitely furious. “Everyone’s already dead. Might as well, right?”

The creature let out a shrill noise, seemingly in agreement with its summoner. Together, they made their stand. Together, they were going to end this thing. For the Grand Witch. For the knight with the weird helmet. For the young mom. For the Braru twins. For the Curry House. “Skeep-beep de bop-bop beep bop bo-dope skeetle-at-de-op-de-day!” The idiot died scat singing.

So anyone familiar with online gaming knew what happened when your internet crapped out. Everything went still on your end, players and enemies alike frozen in place as you saw just your character doing actions. And if you were lucky, maybe, just maybe your character might move as you intended.

Sometimes you also needed to plan for what the enemy was doing, too.

Thus, although grateful for the thanks she had received from both @Portia Ahrens and @Raid, Alkaid tore off to head to Zone D -- whereupon anyone who had been watching at the time could notice a new queen, the lag queen, seemingly glitching from one location to the next as she headed toward important NPC and Players, a safe spot, or at least so she thought.

Cue things finally returning to real time, players moving in fast forward against some the Big Bad who was maybe now more than a bit angry. In spite of it all, she couldn't help but wonder if her cat had been messing with wires or something because his bad owner was lying in bed almost all daaaaay for this raid thing. Although that didn't much matter as a much confused Alkaid entered the fray. Bringing out her deck once more, she drew out three cards, then threw them into the air in a triangular shape.

Lightning crackled between the three cards at first. Wild sparks flying around them as a magical glyph formed in the air, the energy slowly focusing down into a single, destructive force at its center.

And then it shot forth, a resounding clap of thunder following in its wake. The Astral Mage's sole method of announcing her return.
