((This thread is of course after A Fatal Misunderstanding. In the aftermath of the duel between Bradwynne and Roland, there was a move to clear the posters. But still some posters remain within the fringes of Astorea.)) "Oh man, that stings." Bradwynne muttered, as he grasped the center of his chest. The cross-shaped scar that he had gotten from the last duel still ached although it had been completely healed, and he wondered why. It was as if he was sensing something wrong around him. As he was walking, a piece of paper slammed on his face. His ice-blue eyes then fixed on something... so handsome. The features are really goodly it should fit a famous singer artist. Who was this beautiful person? He then peeled the paper from his face with his right hand, and then read the whole thing. Hey, it was his old Wanted poster. He really looked great in here, yes? He could frame the thing in his residence in Vintergard, and tell someone who was visiting that he was once wanted and had this poster. It's such a shame that the handsome portrait of him would go to waste. And it was limited-edition too. After that dueling incident with Roland, there had been a drive to remove Bradwynne's posters from all over Astorea. It had been the testament that the officials in Vintergard could be bribed, and as it would be a stain to the rulers of the city, there was a need to obliterate that black record. And so Bradwynne could freely stay in the city now, and could go anywhere unmolested... maybe not as Bradwynne entered this border village of Astorea and Falderen. He entered the village, and the people were just doing their chores, or play, or just lie near some house basking in the sun. Well it had seemed that the order to clear all his posters had also reached here since he could not sense hostility in the villagers. He then stopped over in a bar to eat and to drink. He wondered what was their specialty here. He then sat on one table and called a waitress. But when the waitress saw him, she dropped everything that she carried and ran away, shouting, "BANDITS! BANDITS!" Bradwynne then scanned the board to know where was the bandit the waitress was referring to, and he then saw the poster nailed on the wall near the board. It was his poster. Hurriedly Bradwynne dashed through the door of the bar and ran away from the village before the guards noticed him. This was a drag, literally. @Aalam Abungu
Aalam was in his room when the message come down, he recognized the seal it was from the duke’s personal desk. This was a problem that he wanted him to deal with personally, that was interesting since he had been here the duke, haven’t had a great need for him. Sure he would have a job every now again but those were mostly for the benefit of the duchy. This was a personal mission it seemed and that was interesting he thought they the man would have gone to one of the others but to come to him meant a few thing. The first being that this job would be one of the more difficult one and the second was that he needed his special talents. Opening the letter and scanning it over to see what all the fuss was about there was a picture well a bounty of a person … damn that was a face that he knew. A face that he knew quite well, it seemed as the boy hadn’t taken his advice when it was offered that day. It was a shame that he was going to have to do this reading the rest of the letter to understand what the duke wanted and how he wished for the man to be taken care of. So he committed the information into memory before placing the letter in the fire, watching it burn. Then he walked to his closet getting ready for the job at hand, pulling open the door as he look at the collection of knives, arrows and chains. You could say whatever you want but the duke keep a man stocked. Stripping down to his undergarments as he started to strap weapons to various part of his body, there was a few blades on his inner tights, his needed to put on his good amour. It had stopped blades arrows and magic before it would do so again. However there was a proper way to do these things so he took his time making sure that each button on his shirt was facing forward. Putting on his pants one leg at a time make sure that there was no dust on the fabric before he put on his quiver. He would need a collection of arrow for this job, a few shield breakers, maybe one or two flat headed and he was defiantly going to need the crippler arrows. Those would hurt more than anything else for the first two inches it was heavily barred in almost all directions. It would do more damage than it would have going in. It was a cruel piece of gear but it was necessary, grabbing the last items he would need a pair of shackles and a length of chain. Those where solid iron, heavy and restricting with a heavy metal bar across the middle, stopped a man from being able to run away. He did that four days ago now he was on the countryside trying to track the man down, he had been following the rumor and stories. There had been some report from various towns nearing the border of a person that was matching the description. He had just caught a ride into this new village when he saw the commotion; it seemed that the guard was being mobilized. The boy had been seen in the two, dismounting his horse as he started walking through the town. Calling out one order, as he began to comb the town block by block. “No one leaves” @Bradwynne
Bradwynne started to move from alley to alley, hiding from the guards using the walls of some house or some obstacle along an alley. The guards had fanned out pretty quickly in this quite large village that it was hard to hide and stay hidden. One time he tried to peek, and he saw another guard moving towards his direction. Fortunately he managed to hide himself within the roof trusses of one house as he tried to move away. He then moved towards the other side of the house by crawling through the trusses, so that he would have a short breather, when he saw someone riding his horse in the main street. He then poked his head from the roof to see who it was. Oh thank heavens @Aalam Abungu was there to clear the matter up. Maybe he would tell the guards that he was already cleared from the accusations of that corrupt official in Vintergard... wait did he just join the search? He then withdrew his head from the roof. "One bastard comes out another comes in!" he muttered under his breath while moving within the house. Fortunately he entered the storage attic, and he knew that no people entered there until a person needed to pick up something. He then strove to hear the footfalls and the clink of armor, and when he would not hear anything of that kind from that side, he would try to move back to the roof and jump down to move towards another house to try to hide from Aalam and the guards.
Aalam dismounted from his horse as he let one of the guards lead it away as he looked around at the town. It was a small thing on the borders it would be an excellent place for one to be able to hide in. He understood why @Bradwynne chooses to try and hide here most bounty hunters wouldn’t bother, and as long as he was able to avoid the town guard, he would have been fine. However, it seemed that he wasn’t able to do either. Pointing to one of the guards as he started to give his orders, he didn’t have time for this. He had warned brad before not to allow his emotion get in the way it seemed that he was going to have to drive that point home. However, he would not be using his words this time that belonged in the past. This time he would regret crossing path with a job that was given to him. For hell hath no mercy and neither would he, turning his attention back to the first guard, his voice flat and monotone. “Take a group and set up a barrio around the town a man every ten feet. If he tries to leave, you take the sharp end and drive it through his stomach. Use it to pin him to the ground the send someone to get. Now move.” As the guard turned away to pass on and carry out his order Aalam grabbed him one more time. “Twist the blade in it will keep him down later.” Pushing the man away and starting to walk into the town equipping his longbow. It was a nice feeling in his hands away to kill a man from a distance. However, there was still on more plays that he would be able to make, so he called down Zeus. Feeling the wind circle around him as the bird came to land on his shoulder, he had gotten bigger from when he first got that egg. He could feel the weight on his shoulders, grabbing him but he beak. Usually, he would be a touch kinder but that was for when he was not on the job, and he still needs the bird to listen. He was in the rebellious teen faze, and that was a problem on a job. “In the air, I need you to find him and make sure he doesn’t leave the town. The guards are on the border if you spot him from the air cry out, so I make the shot.” Holding out his arm so that he would be able to take off turning his attention back to the building as he started to make his investigation, he would find the man. It was a shame that he attacked a duke of the kingdom. That was but the stability of the kingdom in jeopardy that was something that he couldn’t allow. May the court of light help him.
Without anyone seeing him, Bradwynne managed to move out of the attic, and down through the roof trusses into the alleyway again. He wondered why this person @Aalam Abungu decided to hunt him down. The bounty on him had been lifted, that duel against the Duke had been settled upon - although he did not like the terms of the Duke and the fact that he literally bribed the city clerk to lift the charges against him where there are really ni charges to lift - why did he decide to hunt for him? As if he would get anything from the Wanted poster if it should be the reason for the hunt against him by this person. Did that person really believed that crackpot of a judge to silence those who are opposing the whims of the bandits surrounding Vintergard? Damn this person. To think that before he really had such profound respect for this person, his commander at the southern front of the defense against Falderen. He saw him then as a person who, although by then he was sticking to the chain of command when he pardoned him for killing a person who dared breach the high command not to kill prisoners of war, a man full of integrity and conviction to what was just. Now, as he was being hunted by this man for a charge that he was innocent of, he really regretted thinking of him that way: he saw him this time as a person who only sticks with what was decreed upon. Even when it was so insidiously unjust that if any good man knew Bradwynne's plight, he would hiss at the government. He had been imprisoned on the false charges of being a bandit leader, by a judge who was actually in cahoots with the true bandits, and only managed to escape after an uproar of the people at the square where he was about to be executed. This started the whole series of incidents that involved a lot of bounty hunters trying to take his life, and even the Duke of Western Astorea, a hero of many battles, joined in in the bounty hunt it was ridiculous. Come to think of it, if a Duke was enticed with the bounty, then what more this person? Damn those bandits and that judge with them. Surely he would exact revenge on them for later for prostitution of the justice system within Vintergard. Of course once he had paid his dues to the Duke, however expensive that was, and escape this ranger along the way. As he was moving through every obstacle to hide from the guards, he overheard the ranger talking to a guard about setting a perimeter watch, and if he tried to escape that, they should thrust their swords at his stomach. Damn him, was he really going to kill for his gain? Quietly slinking away from the duo as they parted separate ways, he then moved quickly towards the edge of the village. He should get out of the village before they succeed in setting up the perimeter. Moving towards the obstacles so that the guards around the area would not see him, he then climbed the wall of the village to get out towards the forest where he knew the marksman would have quite a difficulty in getting an aim. He needed to get out of the sight of the marksman as fast as possible, seeing that he would go for the kill.
Aalam looked around at the buildings this was the twelfth that he had check and there was no sign of the man, he did not like this. The guards had made no mention of anyone trying to leave the village, so he was still trapped in the walls that they created. See the boy was starting to piss him off well then if he was wanted by the duke then there was a chance that Bard wasn’t going to be too happy to see him. However he was making him work, and that was the problem, he could have been drinking or better yet drowning himself in a drink. But he had to hunt down a man that he had commanded on the wall; he would have come quietly it would have been better. Turning to the head guard that was on patrol with him, if Brad wanted to hit, then he would show him how it would be like to be hunted like prey. With the guards closing the ring that would limit where he would be able to run and In doing so close where he could hide. “Get the citizens on an alarm if they find him they will get a bag of gold personally from me if they waste my time with false trails I will put enough arrows in them to turn them into a porcupine. I want this man found, and I want him found quickly, the faster you get him, the less time I have to spend in his village and that better for the general health of the people around me. I will take the roofs if he s on the ground I will be able to see him better with the extra height.” Calling Zeus back to do him feeling the weight as he landed on his shoulder. Giving him a little pat before he sent him back into the air, but changing the protocol from find to hunt. The only difference was that he would no longer mark he would try and take out the man’s eyes. So he got on to the roof moving from roof top to roof top he was about to give up until he heard a sound. A fantastic sound that meant he had a target, he loved that bird. However, he hated the guard. This was why the thing had to be done a certain way, so he leads his line of sight drift towards where he was signaling. It seemed that he had found brad wonderful, so she started to run. However, he had a bit of a head start, so he was going to be needed to slow down. So aimed it was a fifty feet dash to where he was, however, he had a bow based on the English it was a shoot that he was able to make. So his first arrow left this bow looking to put it in his left leg, it was much harder to run with an arrow in the limb. Letting out a loud whistle to send Zeus after him.
