Dissonant Survivors
Dawn could be seen painting over the last of the twilight sky in the distance. Despite the group’s ultimate victory over the ancient dissonance, a heavy mood lingered over the Brotherhood’s makeshift camp, eliciting an uncomfortable silence as the survivors picked themselves up in the aftermath of a great calamity.
After the last of the survivors had made it through the steadily collapsing portal, a spark of energy lashed out, drawing a deep gash on the ground before the magical entrance imploded upon itself. The half a dozen of mages who had been maintaining the portal up until that point collapsed. They were carried off by the Brotherhood’s support team.
Amid the chaos, Juliette could be seen directing the organization of mysterious mages. She was an elderly woman with snow white hair, caramel skin, and as many crow feet as her years of experience. Although she was often full of playful banters, she appeared rather subdued as she tried to control the chaotic situation.
With limited supplies, it was difficult for the Brotherhood to take care of those who had received extensive damage from the confrontation with Titanius. Burnt skin were treated with hydromancy, poison drained from the bloodstream, punctured organs were sewn, loss limbs were disinfected, every person in the camp were busy treating the brave adventurers.
When D’vangelline was limping across the camp, she immediately stopped when she Juliette walked past her. She could not stop herself from lashing out at the old woman with sharp words. It was rather uncharacteristic for her.

Despite your self-aggrandizing knowledge over magic, you have failed each and every one of those people who were left behind. Shame on you. I hope your ineptitude haunt your dreams this night.

No story in the real world has a happy ending, your majesty.
After their brief exchange, Juliette curtly bowed to D’vangelline, who headed off to where a horse had been prepared for her journey back to Falderen. Once the queen was out of her sight, Juliette looked up at the sky and let out a long sigh as she fidgeted with her eyepatch.
