    [THEME]

As the party of four assembled at the cave's entrance. A perky voice rang out from behind them. A girl dressed quite out of setting came running at a speed more akin to a race car than a human zoomed pasta and into the cave. The sound of skidding was heard and then the girl came out of the cave to stand before them with smoke rising from her feet.

Trinity waved both hands quickly at them with a welcoming and energetic smile. Although she seemed a bit more zany than usual?

    WOOHOO, welcome gang!

Hello, greetings, salutations, bonjour, hola, konnichiwa, nǐ hǎo, and all the other ways!

It's been a while loved players! I had some meetings to attend and needed a few patches to prevent a nasty little cold I was getting. So sorry dorry wory for the lack of tutorial fun! I know you guys can't wait to play more Terrasphere so let's get right to it shallllll we?

Ready to get dirty?! Eager for some treasures and goodies?! Adventure awaits in the world of Terrasphere!

Trinity checked a clip board that generated out of thin air before shrugging and tossing it over her shoulder into the ether.

Kk... you have to get Trinity, that's me k? To the cave's end and back alive. Piece of cake right? Time to learn how to bash cute critters with your sticks and stuff. HAHAHA, adventure ho! Let's gooooo!

With that she made a sharp turn on her heel and dashed into the cave.

A large flashing sign that could not be interacted with in any way appeared saying:

    TUTORIAL

It hovered in the air as it's letters bounced around like made of jello over the entrance.

There are four types of monsters here so choose between the different ways to fight and you're all set! What are the methods? They are in your UI! You know what just start swinging the best practice is a real life experience!

Lookie around! Baddies are coming k? Let's take out our weapons... or just punch whatever floats your boat, and start swinging! WOOT go for big damage k!?

The monsters that appeared did not even notice Trinity's presence and made their way towards the team.

Sean had been playing Terrasphere for a good while now, but he never got far. All he did was die, over and over. Enough is enough, I'm doing the tutorial.

    So, here he is.

As Sean stepped into the cave, he looked around. It looks just like... A cave? His thoughts were interrupted by the voice of the guide ringing through the cave.

Lookie around! Baddies are coming k? Let's take out our weapons... or just punch whatever floats your boat, and start swinging! WOOT go for big damage k!?

Slightly panicking, Sean started looking around frantically to see... Bats. Well, shit, my Death Affliction's about to go- "OH GOD NOT THIS SHIT AGAIN!" He suddenly shouted. "STAY AWAY!" He yelled at one of the bats, holding out his hand and shooting some fire at it.

This was the type of content that the twins should’ve been doing their first few days of playing TerraSphere! Perhaps if they had, they would’ve had plunged headfirst into that terrible world boss event and ultimately died. No harm had come of it, thank goodness, but from the rumors circulating through World Chat, apparently, it had been very bad for some other players. Lycia counter herself and her twin lucky…and decided not to say anything on the subject to her twin. The less Milah knew, the better.

Lycia was captivated by Trinity, her energy and the cave they were standing before. The more she listened to the blue-mascot girl speak, the more energy she felt coursing through her. All she wanted to do was jump up and down, run in a circle, and shout from the highest tree that life was pretty awesome. And then, she was gone, rushing into the cavern. For a moment, Lycia was sad. She wanted to be close to Trinity and escorting her through the cave had to be the top priority.

Hey wait! The young Felis called out to the red-hair boy. But he was already charging ahead, no thought spared for the rest of them.

Oh well, she whispered, the tiny cymbals on her index and thumb meeting with a gentle sound. Magic bloomed from her hand and wrapped around herself, her sister, and the new girl ( @Shangri La ) that she hadn’t even introduced herself too. Oops.

Hey there! I’m Lycia and this is Milah and I’ll be making sure that your wounds get all sealed up and you do the most damage possible! Let’s work together, okay?

After the whole WB with Titanius fiasco the girls were more than ready for something less stressful and overly complicated—something light and fun and simple to wash away part of the lingering bad taste that Milah still felt from that event. Begrudgingly the Felis was forced to admit that she still knew very little about the game and how it worked, and if she continued to lack knowledge sooner or later Milah was certain it would come back to bite her in the butt.

Milah soon found herself focused on researching, becoming more familiar with the UI that TerraSphere offered along with the new gloves and short bow that the Felis had acquired from the boss event. The gloves still felt weird in her hands, unable to truly describe the material they seemed made for, although her uneasiness towards them was often replaced quickly by the new short bow. She had started to practice more and more, wanting to get a better feel of the game and her attacks, so when her twin brought up the idea of doing a Tutorial Event Milah was quick to agree.

The Felis’ ears pinned back in slight distaste at the overly energetic Trinity—while Milah had come to accept and adore her twin’s perkiness the brunette couldn’t say she enjoyed being with multiple energetic people in one room, it could get a bit draining after a while. Still a part of her knew it made sense for the AI to be overly friendly and welcoming, no doubt helping ease any nervous or shy players into the groove of it all.

Quietly her eyes took in the other party members, noting that the girl seemed older than her and Lycia although the male Felis was mayyybe closer to their age group… but before Lycia could get a word in however said redhead boy was already shouting and rushing off to engage one of the nearby bats.

Well someone has their trousers in a bunch…

Milah rolled her eyes, a heavy sigh leaving her lips, before her attention turned back to the other girl as her twin introduced them. Hopefully she’d be more agreeable than the boy, and willing to work together. Even if this was a tutorial Milah wasn’t about to take it lightly…

Let’s do our best out there… I’ll back you up so long as you back us up too. She nodded at Shangri before looking at Lycia. Sis, I need you to duck low for me please!

The familiar feeling of her twin’s buffing powers soon coursed through her, a nod given to the blonde and the other girl before Milah moved to the spot previously occupied by the boy. The arrow was nocked and ready, giving Lycia just enough time to respond and get out of the way, before it was set loose towards a different incoming bat. It sunk in with precision, the force of the shot grounding the creature from one blow.

In retrospect, completing the tutorial should have been her top priority. The typical noob experiences had been forgo'd the moment she accepted the call to arms against Titanius. Before that she had mainly spent her time wandering. Skills hadn't been fully tested. Played around with - sure - but never purely focused on.

With so much to see, so much to discover, Shangri La had spent her days wandering around different areas of Terrasphere. After long days at work she'd sit in local pubs simply listening to the tales of the drunkards. Beginner quests and tutorials were put on the back burner in favor the rich environment she longed to be a part of.

As always, hindsight was fifty-fifty. Perhaps if she had practiced more, honed her skills and earned more mastery points, she would have been a greater asset in the world boss raid. Non-playable characters called her the "Dissonant Martyr" but Shangri La still struggled underneath the weight of the concept.

She was all for getting down to the nitty gritty controls of Terrasphere but.. couldn't they have found a different guide for the team? It wasn't that Trinity annoyed the woman. She could handle the mascot's bubble person. Rather, it was hard to take things seriously. First, an AI catching a cold? Shangri La struggled to grasp that. Maybe a bug? But Terrasphere was her perfect paradise -

The way the words tutorial appeared.. They wiggled and jiggled as if made of gelatin. All Shangri La could do was stare at the large letters as Trinity gave them their mission: a much, much easier task than felling a freaky eyeball plagued Cthulhu thing that nearly ate her whole.

It came to her attention that she was with a younger lot of teenagers which kept her mind from drifting too far, a maternal mother bear instinct kicking in. Shangri La smiled at the two felis girls; opposites yet oddly similar in a way she couldn't put her finger on.

My name is Shangri La. You don't have to worry - I'll be watching out for you all.

After all, she did appear to be the eldest of the group. Concern crossed her face as the boy freaked out over the bat he attacked. Perhaps he was afraid of bats? It would be best if they finished this quickly, then.

Power surged through her veins. Her muscles throbbed with a new strength she did not possess seconds ago while energy flared. An appreciative glance was sent Lycia's way before she scanned her surroundings for an opponent within reach.

A slime that moved reminisce of the letters Trinity summoned was slowly creeping forward. Shangri La called the power of wind to her, sending it forward with a push of her hand. The slime wiggled and jiggled, giving her a moment of deja vu, but didn't seem to take much damage.

    Shoot.
Even with a buff she executed the attack poorly. "Mama bear" was doing jack to protect "her cubs" so far.

    Fabulous, magnifique, excelente, subarashīdesu!

Yeppers, that's how to bash baddies alright! Now remember when in a dungeon that you can never feel too safe! Monsters can spawn at any time! Liiiiiiike right now!

Trinity spun as 3 more monsters emerged from the shadows and roamed the cavern in the distance. Luckily they were not advancing towards anyone yet. Trinity turned and ignoring the threats and even the possibly even the players, made her way deeper into the tunnel.

Let's keep going k? Or you can practice bashing and go investigating! Just don't dawdle tooooo looooong or the creepies will come to eatcha! Terrasphere is all up to you! It's your life!

Eventually she stopped and watched them with a constant happy smile plastered on her face.

So.. remember when Shangri La didn’t find Trinity annoying? Welllll, she was beginning to see why players viewed the trademark mascot negatively. In all honesty, in this very moment, she wished she hadn’t taken tinkering. Why? To make duck-tape, of course. That appeared to be that only way to temporarily silence the AI, excluding intense knowledge of coding. Although if the government couldn’t trace Terrasphere she doubted anyone could hack the program.

Anyway, it wasn’t that she wished - Okay, she did. Shangri La yearned for the useless casual program to talk a little less. Outside of combat she’d love to chat with the mint haired girl. It would probably be impossible to keep up with her but fun nonetheles. In the midst of combat, however, her “k’s” caused Shangri La to wince, rubbing her the wrong way.

The enemies weren’t extremely difficult but she needed to focus. Examine her surroundings and investigate — Wait. Trinity mentioned investigation during her tangent. From what she had heard and read there was an investigation mode albeit she had never fully discovered how to use it.

    Uh.. investigation mode on?

Whether it was activated by her voice or thought she did not know. Either way, Shangri La gasped as streams of information appeared before her very eyes. Information hovered above the enemies like health and their names. This was all so very awesome. Imagine how much she could learn like this!

Unfortunately, she didn’t have much time to test out her newfound ability. Bats swarmed the young felis boy, attacking him in unison. Shangri La flinched at her own disability to protect him. She said she’d watch their backs but she had let herself fall victim to her own whims. The poor lad had a phobia and she had let another enclose on him.

Ah, don’t be afraid. I’m coming!

Unlike last time, she used wind to launch her further into the air when she leaped toward the closest bat. Her lance directed its aim at the small mammal as she began to descend towards the ground. This time, she prayed, her aim would be true.

Sean looked around frantically as the bats closed in. BAD TOUCH, BAD TOUCH, BAD TOUCH, BAD TOUCH. They attacked. The hits made visible marks on his body, but he didn't seem to care much about the damage. The bats needed to die, for his own sanity. Okay, maybe the bats were also hostile meaning if they didn't kill them then they'd just get pummeled, but mostly for his sanity.

Ah, don’t be afraid. I’m coming!

Sean started to gain a tiny bit of composure at the woman coming to help him. "Thanks..." He could barely focus. "This Death Affliction's got me good..." He let loose another blast of fire magic into the bat he struck earlier.

Milah did her best to ignore the AI as best as possible, paying only just enough attention to catch the warning as her eyes watched Trinity move further into the cavern and call for them. A glance was spared to the bats as she watched the older woman and the Felis boy quickly dispatch them both, before the Felis pressed her index and middle fingers to her temple to activate the investigation mode.

Her sister would be safe with the other two for a little bit, no nearby creatures caught the investigation mode’s alert system after all, and instead Milah begun to make her way towards the new cavern area Trinity was inhabiting. The Felis wasn’t naïve though, she had no plans of just barreling through into some unknown area—even if this was labelled as a Tutorial.

Eyes carefully looked over the terrain before an idea popped into Milah’s mind. By the looks of it she was the first to explore this deep into the cavern and, remembering something useful, the Felis begun to dig into her backpack for a contraption. It was a trapping, simple but effective, that Milah had recently learned how to assemble and set up.

There… hopefully that should be enough.

The words were whispered quietly, not wanting to alert anything around to the presence of the new trap. Pleased with her work the brunette stood back, another glance given back to the zone she had moved from to catch sight of her twin and ensure she was well and safe.

Lycia visibly winced as the two bats crowded around her party-mates and harried them. She was preparing to draw forth the familiar magic which would soothe their wounds when she squinted and nodded her head at what she saw. They weren’t in dire straits, not yet, so perhaps the energy could be used for something different? After all, Trinity had said something about attacking everything in the dungeon and that’s what they were here to do.

She had taken her eyes off Milah for a second, a single second, and the next thing Lycia knew, her twin was moving ahead without her. A startled sound came from her before she rushed after Milah, not intending on allowing her sister to take on anything without her aid. After all, one wrong move and she was sure Milah would give up the game for good and Lycia was having way too much fun for that to happen.

The supportive kitten stopped next to her twin, ears perked forward to listen for any incoming enemies or danger. She tensed when she caught the green slime out of the corner of her eye.

Incoming! she called before whipping her hand forward, a screeching sound coming from her finger cymbals before a bolt of electricity surged forward and into the slime. Lycia watched with amazed eyes as the slime exploded where it stood.

Right this way! Down this tunnel and we reach the deeper section! That's going to be a wee bit harder k?! So far, we've talked bout, enemies, spawns, bashing with sticks and stuff.........

Have we covered investigation and searches?! HAHAHA, sorry dorry for that guys! Searches are ways to find nifty little things all over the place. You usually can't take em out of a dungeon since they are exclusive to it buuuuut still great for the perfectionist in us all! Yeppers! Investigation is just a special little modu that you can do! Put a finger to your head and pow! Instant useful info! I hear some builds can learn even more than others!

Trinity had once again started walking along swinging her arms hard all the while. Her peppy voice bouncing off the walls. She stood now at the front of a long tunnel going deeper. Turning, she slowly swayed as she waited for the party to move on to the next section.

Milah hadn’t seen the green slime closing into their area, focused instead on setting the trap in their current zone. It wasn’t until her sister called out, a jolt of electricity bursting from her little cymbals and detonating the slime into pieces, that the twin was made aware of the enemy.

Whoa… that’s actually really cool, sis.

The Felis stared for a few moments, amazed at the magic attack, before looking to Lycia and giving her twin a thumb up. Little by little Amelia had been getting more and more interested in TerraSphere—and while her original motivation to play the game had been to keep her twin safe as time went on the brunette found other things to keep her interested and invested in this VR game.

Milah moved closer to her twin, intent of staying near her sibling as the AI continued to dive deeper into the cave system and called for them to follow. No one could deny that Milah loved Lycia and her bubbly personality, unfortunately no one would be able to say the same was true in regard to Trinity—even for a Tutorial the Felis found their guide to be annoying and too optimistic.

Guess we better catch up… though that hardly makes us able to explore much, huh?

It was annoying if anything, Milah would have preferred to take her time inspecting the different tunnels for any possible treasure or other artifacts and clues of interest. Still she forged ahead, keen eyes spotting a bat not far into the section ahead. Another arrow was nocked and set loose and, just like before, the Felis watched the bat fall with a smirk of satisfaction.

... needless to say the other woman and the Felis boy had been largely forgotten by now, pushed out of Milah's thoughts for the time being.

When dungeon crawling an established, pre-existing party. A comfortable, familiar dynamic was preferred by most over that of an untested mix. The hastily grouped quad of players had a rather neutral footing. No one conflicted with each other but no one, save for the two felis girls, instantly clicked with each other.

Though Shangri La felt compelled to watch over her younger teammates, she didnt make a clear effort to walk with the group. While always within reach in case things turned sour, the woman appeared content to wander and investigate the surrounding areas at her own pace. It was only the voice of Trinity that actually compelled her to travel in the correct direction.

This seemed to work out for the best, though. The two teenage girls stuck together like two peas in a pod. Butting into what ever connection they had felt uncomfortable and odd. Shangri La much preferred to stay on the sidelines by herself.

As for the boy? She wasn’t sure what to say to him. What she assumed was a fear of bats turned out to be a death affiliation. Due to the generous aid of the NPCs she met, she hadn’t had to experience one of those quite yet and was incapable of sympathizing.

Consumed by the desire to explore the parts of zones she found interesting Shangri La remained ignorant to the cave bat until it was too late. Teeth sank into her flesh causing her to instinctively swat at the bat as if it were a bug with her lance. Hopefully she didn’t manage to pierce herself too. That would be a major problem.

Once the bat fell limply to the floor she placed a hand on her arm. She had almost forgotten how realistic the pain could feel — almost. Gingerly she stepped over the bats carcass as she sought to meet up with the approaching figures of her party members.

She’d best pay more attention, especially when most game dungeons were known for their traps. With this reminder she watched her steps before crossing the invisible boundary of the next zone.

I didn’t even know I could do that! Lycia exclaimed excitedly while clapping her hands together. She had received some in-game mail talking about changing her masteries for free as long as she hadn’t invested anything into them and thought it sounded cool. This time, when the very long list of abilities was presented to her, she sat down and scrolled slowly so she could make a better decision. However, as soon as she saw the lightning and wind mastery, she immediately picked that one, remembering Yukisa’s cool tornados from the manor and the rats.

Her magic didn’t appear forth as tornados though. It was a little disappointing, truth be told, but the sizzle of electricity that ran from her finger cymbals to the enemies and made them explode was pretty cool all by itself. Maybe she could learn how to summon tornados later on after she had put some time and energy into learning how to get the mastery to work for her. She thought it would be cool to have a mini tornado that also made music while it damaged people.

Hey slow pokes, C'mon! This way!

Unlike her sister, Lycia hadn’t forgotten the two other comrades they were exploring this dungeon with. Granted, yes, the Felis sisters had run ahead of them, but surely, they would be able to hear Lycia’s words. Turning back to the task at hand, she charged forward again, shooting off another crackle of electricity at the Cave Bat that attempted to stop them from progressing toward Trinity.

The bats in the immediate vicinity were taken care of. There were, however, more. Sean looked around frantically, looking for a way to get away from them all. Then, he got an idea. Kill that bat... He looked at a lone bat. ...And I'll be away from all of them!

Sean drew out his sword and made a mad dash for the lone bat. "DIE, BY THE POWER OF BEING SCARED!!" Panic was evident in his eyes as he made a wild slash at the bat, putting as much force as he could behind the swing. Please work... If this doesn't, I'm in major trouble...
