Personality
Sometimes anxious and usually coming off a bit cynical, Joe-Anne is a person with little social skill and even less desire to do anything in life. She can sometimes come off as snappy or rude, partly because she lashes out at poor times and partly because she just genuinely seems to not care about people, save for one lone friend. Even her contact with this outside world is almost exclusively limited to being over the internet, and any forays into public are secretive and rushed. Joe takes little effort to care for herself beyond basic hygiene; her hair is typically in disarray and there are deep circles under her eyes. It’s rather clear that she sleeps little, possibly lending to her moodiness.
Joe tends to feel easily slighted or blown off, and further reacts with anger. She’s not just somewhat socially awkward, but is seemingly unable to figure out how to act any differently. Joe’s parents once tried to hire her a therapist, but it only seemed to further drive the girl into her brooding.
In-game Joe tries to put on a persona, which is someone more confident and less vindictive. It doesn’t always work.
Positive: Discreet, Free-thinking, Individualistic, Patient
Negative: Aimless, Aloof, Insecure, Resentful, Shy, Envious
Biography
Born to normal parents in a normal middle-class neighborhood in a normal small town in middle America was a young girl named Joe-Anne. Joe didn’t really have anything wrong or horrific happen to her, nor was her family life particularly turbulent, and so the proverbial table was well set for the girl to lead a happy life. It’s a shame that Joe ended up being surprisingly good at clearing tables, and not just the ones at the part time job that she’d only held for a week.
To get to the root of this girl’s problems would likely be difficult, because growing up it seemed Joe was dead-set on being her own worst enemy. In the early elementary school days she mostly kept to herself, but had been lucky enough to make just one friend that kept her from being overly bullied or avoided. Still, the girl was quiet, and by the time she had moved on into middle school it was clear that some of the insecurities and anxieties of childhood were only worsening. She wasn’t just shy or uncaring of her school work, but her attitude had developed into something more barbed. Joe became less and less social throughout highschool, with her anxiety and general aimlessness drove her away from public entirely.
By graduation Joe still had her one childhood friend, with whom by this point she almost exclusively spoke to in text. Joe essentially shut herself away in her room after barely earning a diploma, and she has since resigned herself to living at her parent’s for eternity. Getting an invitation to play an exclusive game was just the icing on an already unfruitful cake.
