Hakkeyoi! Hida Kenta is your typical foreign exchange student, with a massive stature -- dwarfed only by his heart of gold. He has a bright and positive outlook on life, and loves to lift others up to the heights of his own confidence. Although he rarely has any valuable talents to offer, Kenta is often good for a few practical reasons; be it getting things from high shelves, moving heavy objects, or enthusiastic moral support.
Kenta wears his thoughts and feelings on his sleeve, often reacting to dangerous ideas with concerned objection; but being conservative doesn't make him a coward. Kenta has spent much of his life being pushed around, and has learned to push back twice as hard. He is the kind of young man that meets fire with fire, be it insults; or blows, Kenta is willing to trade with the heaviest of hits into bitter oblivion.
Finally, Kenta is selflessly compassionate towards anyone he finds deserving. He trusts his first impression to be an accurate gauge of the worth of others; and will respect well mannered people as close friends. It really doesn't matter to Kenta if you deserve respect, because Kenta cultivates respect with his aura of trust and dignity. Be wary, though; as loud laughs, bad puns, and a cacophony of dad jokes follow this rotund, deep-voiced warrior spirit -- and you may have a hard time liking him as much as he likes you.

Biography
Kenta is a lad of his namesake, being particularly large, even at a young age. He came out of the womb a furious sum of 11lbs, and has refused to shrink since. Raised in Japan, being born so large was highly uncommon, and consistently led on to him statting in as the tallest student in class. Kenta was also consistently the Heaviest student in class, though this may have been to his mother consistently overcooking, and pressuring her 'growing boy' to 'eat like a man.'
Kenta found himself in a very strange place; admired by an insecure few, and loathed or ignored by many. Kenta was often the target of bullying, as his size posed a threat to the authority of ambitious children looking to climb the playground's social ladder. Kenta was often annoyed by this fact -- at one point loathing his size for attracting so much unwanted attention. Although, one day came where Kenta's gym teacher persuaded him to join the school wrestling team. His Middle School Gym Teacher taught him how to defend himself properly, and use his height and weight against his foes. The experience really helped Kenta to assert himself as someone who wasn't to be trifled with, and having being bullied gave him the empathy to avoid using his martial prowess selfishly. Come the beginning of High School, Kenta was free to peruse his academic interests as he pleased, and without interruption.
In his High School years, Kenta thrived in Japanese History and English specifically. Kenta always had trouble choosing his favorite subject between the Genpei War, the Sengoku Jidai, the Boshin War, and the Second World War. He always found history interesting to discuss, but there was never anyone that found it interesting enough to discuss the details at length. After all -- everyone had already gone to their national history class; but Kenta needed an outlet, and was already on the verge of a breakthrough idea. Kenta's High school English teacher was a foreigner from the United States, and was very open about his past. After much questioning about his motives to teach in Japan, Kenta had discovered that an Occult following of Americans were deeply interested in Japanese Anime, Culture and History..! It was the opportunity of a life time! Kenta prostrated himself to his Teacher, swearing an oath to attain the top grade in the class! Kenta was determined to study in America, to become a Japanese History Teacher in American Universities!
Kenta was very passionate about his new dream, and was lucky to have parents that were very supportive of his goals. He was worried that his size and nationality would exile him from the locals, but his passion for language was the acting backbone of his confidence. College in Seattle wasn't nearly as difficult as he imagined -- at least socially. He managed to make at least one solid friend with whom he trusted everything to; Payton Reyer, a local boy that worked a dead end job. He wasn't totally confident of Payton felt the same way about him as he felt about Payton, but he made a habit of visiting him at work, regardless -- telling him how his classes went, and briefly discussing the differences between life in America and Japan. However, one day a miracle happened; Payton had sent out a link to all of his friends..! A virtual reality mmo? It was finally a chance to spend some meaningful time with his American buddy! He hadn't thought twice before accepting the invitation. He quickly crafted an avatar, and chose a few similar features to his face. However, being in a silly mood as he was, he insisted upon maximizing the 'weight' slider on his character, to make him look like an angry Sumo man. Kenta knew what it was like to throw his weight around, and he wanted to show it to his newfound friend.
