Mahiru watched as the vines were shrugged off. Well, I tried. Thinking for a small bit, she was snapped out of it by Sara getting slammed into the ground. "Uwah, are you okay?" She fumbled with the menus a bit more, disregarding her deteriorating energy, and sent another ball of light at the woman that got slammed into the ground, which patched up the bleeding chin. Almost immediately after sending the spell, Mahiru's head began to spin, her clutching it and falling to her knees. "Ugh..." She made a small moan as she shook her head a bit. "I'm fine..." She shakily stood up. "I really am..."

 

______Kaede’s hands would return to normal as she noticed @Mahiru Wind fall to her knees. Even if she said she was fine she would not progress the sparring any longer. This was to train the girl to better prepare herself for the dangers that lurked in the shadows. Something Kaede wished another had done for her before she came face to face with them and was burnt alive for it. No light shined without casting an equal shadow with it. Sara slowly moving her weapons to her back as she bowed to Kaede before looking over to Mahiru. Neka lightly tapped the girl’s back with a smile.

”Sure Nyaa are, but if this was a real fight the foes would see you as a weak link and remove you from the situation to try and draw rage or clouded judgement from the rest of our team here.”

”It is also wise we do not push our luck. Even if all of us fought with everything we had i doubt we would even get Kaede to use more then her arms in cosmic form. Any warrior must also know when to back down or retreat against unlikely odds.”

______Kaede would nod in agreement to both of the others who tried to tell Makiru just another piece of advice. Her hands crackling with a small extra bit of magic for a moment before fully settling down as she approached Sara and lightly rest a hand on the girl’s shoulder who turned crimson and turned to see Kaede smile softly but nothing more. A slight baffled looked before she regained her composure allowing Kaede to speak slightly less distracted.

”Neka I would like you to stay here with Sara and help her train. I’ll take Mahiru with me and help her train also. You have grown a bit since we last sparred Sara, use this time as to help better for the next. That is if you truly wish to be seen as my personal guard and handmaiden…”

_____With that Kaede would move to leave the sparring area, hand waving for Mahiru to follow as Sara bowed and Neka did a salute before the two of them began to talk and get ready to trade a few blows. Kaede turned her head to see if the younger girl was following before she kept moving. They had some ground to cover, least if the girl truly felt she was ‘fine’.

 

As Mahiru tried to regain her composure, the comment about being a "weak link" struck her in the heart. "No... I won't be useless..." Her face turned from one of exhaustion to one of pure determination, apart from the tears starting to roll down her eyes. She heard Kaede's comment about going somewhere else "Let's go..." She quickly dashed out of the room, leaning on the nearby wall. "Ugh... What's wrong with me...?" She shook her head. "It's nothing..." She assured nobody, following Kaede to their next destination.

 

”What is wrong is the fact you used to much energy and are trying to rush around. As much as it was fun having you sleep on me in the forest I would prefer it not happen here. Even the lesser strength or rather underdog can top the elite if they moderate and know their limits. At the moment you are only pulling yourself into the ground and I refuse to get Neka harmed if you blacked out at the next spot.”

Kaede turned to look at Mahiru, her eyes glowing with a clear seriousness that she would not let harm come to someone she cared about more than a stranger girl who she only kissed once or twice.

”You say you won’t be useless so prove that. Take the time to walk, recover and think about what we have taught you so far. USE that and your strengths in the upcoming skirmish that, should you fail will cost you your life worst case. If you still want to push yourself to be useful right now that is. I have no quarrels training you more, but you need to learn your limit sooner or later before you can improve.”

_____Kaede would not move until @Mahiru Wind picked what choice she was going to make. Would she risk her own life to try and prove she could be useful despite her rawness to the world? Or, would she admit that there was little she knew and train before she got herself or others harmed for lack of clear thought. While Kaede was the protector of woman, she was also not willing to have them risk their lives or set her own if she knew the gap was so largely different.

”Your choice.”

 

As Mahiru listened to Kaede, she couldn't help but sigh. I know, but... I became a supporter so I can be helpful... She puffed her comparatively chest out. "I know I still have much to learn. But... I am still helpful in my current state!" She suddenly started laughing a bit. "Pff, I've always been so shy... I wonder why I've opened up to you so quickly?" She shrugged. "Anyways, let's get going!" This will be an amazing opportunity for me to get to see this world... Find out how things work, maybe take a walk through a town. But, I would like to help people in need. That's why I chose my skills, after all. She closed her eyes for a small bit, smiling and following Kaede.

 

_____Kaede would nod slowly, the girl had made her choice and she would not stop a girl once they picked their fate. Moving once more to face away from Mahiru Kaede began to walk again. Hand rising three fingers as she gently looked over her shoulder to make sure the girl was paying attention. This would be the only time Kaede was willing to say these three things to her and she hoped it would be heard clearly.

”Condition one, If you so much as feel even slightly light headed escape, I will not rush to the aid of someone who tries to put up the france they can keep going. Condition two, if i tell you to run, do not argue. If it gets to a point i am warning you to escape it is because i will be getting serious and at such point nobody is safe. Condition three, always learn, and never assume someone is beat or defeated or you can best them. Arrogance is the devil’s advocate.”

_____Kaede would not keep looking back, she spoke her words and should the girl break any of her conditions it would be her life on the line not Kaede’s. Heels clicked against stone as Kaede moved towards the main gate, guards standing at attention and moving to open them as Kaede waved for them to do so. From this point on @Mahiru Wind would not be training in the safety of a closed group of people, she would be at the mercy of the gods themselves. Them along with Kaede as she whistled faintly with seemingly no reply as she kept moving.

 

As Mahiru listened to Kaede's conditions, she nodded. "Yes. I understand." She started flipping through some menus. "No gear..." She almost silently listed off what was in each menu as she walked. "Hunger status, full..." She flipped through another menu. "Hey, so what exactly are we... Er, you, I prefer peace which is why I chose to be a supporter, going to be fighting?" She looked around at the scenery. "It looks nice, but... Nothing is really happening?"

 

”Unlike my father who deals with the human against human issues I try to focus the threats of monsters or rouge beast in the area. As of recently a pack of Imps, demon servants if you would. Have begun annoying the wild life as to bring back morsel for their masters to devour. We will be heading to the demon who leads that group and dealing with the source.”

_____Kaede spoke so lightly of a demon, like most would often rank a demon as one of the strongest threats in any game, but to Kaede it just seemed like another nameless mob she had to deal with every day or so. The threat to the north was starting to get bold and Kaede was seriously growing annoyed with them trying to mess with her little slice of heaven that she had left. Her pace was slow, mostly to give Mahiru time to recover her energy from not strained walking speeds to reach the destination.

_____The forest was mostly quiet, one of the signs the wild life was being killed or taken away. Some of the plant life seemed corrupted or damaged but in only seems like a light effect at the current time as they progressed. Kaede moving her hand out to signal Mahiru to slow down or stop as they overlooked downward on a cliff side. In the clearing near the bottom a small black creature with wings was hopping around, rather being dragged around by a rabbit it was trying to choke out.

_____Kaede simply stood and watched, partly to see if it would manage to subdue the rabbit, the other to see what @Mahiru Wind would do when faced with a creature trying to stay alive and awake. When someone who could so easily help, sat back and watched the struggle it put up. It was one of the many test Kaede would likely push onto the young girl, a crash course into the deep end of the pool without floaties.

 

Mahiru walked right behind Kaede, noting the corrupt plantlife and lack of wildlife. Eventually, she was signalled to slow, doing so and trying to see what Kaede was careful about. A rabbit, struggling to survive from a dark creature with wings. She decided to whisper something to Kaede. "I need to protect the rabbit..." So, the creature is winged, it must be a Flying type. Flying types are weak to Electric attacks! She began frantically tapping at her menu before a small shock of lightning erupted from the beginner staff she had at the winged creature. Er... Did I save the rabbit?

 

_____Kaede would not lecture the girl, she was in charge of her own actions and watching as the lightning strike the imp and by extension the still held rabbit the fighting was soon concluded. The Imp’s body sparked as it absorbed the magic and used it to further harm the poor rabbit. The last struggled kick and the body fell limp, the Imp chuckling before it started to move to look over to the two who watched. Kaede reached her hands to @Mahiru Wind and pulled the girl down and over to keep her out of sight.

_____The yaldain’s ears twitching slightly as she simply listened to the chirping of the lightning that now coated the imp. Once the sound was leaving Kaede waited one extra moment before allowing Mahiru to leave the close hold that Kaede used to reduce their presence. Rising to her own feet Kaede dusted off her dress and looked to the shadows. Quickly rushing forward was a Tsuki-Yumi with Keade’s spear fastened to his back and an Imp chasing after him, Keade tapping her finger to the edge of her lip as she whistled a different tone.

_____The wolf quickly made a small leap, spreading himself flat and giving a light spin as he rather comically spun on the ground, the spear slashing against the chasing Imp before with almost a blurred movement lurched forward impaling the reckless Imp that chased Kaede’s friend all the way to her. Keade’s right finger flickering with energy before she curled the fingers and the weapon flew into the outreached hand.

”Lesson one, Imps are element voids, Fire, lighting, wind, water, ice, earth they can absorb for a brief amount of time to strength themself. Lesson two, wiser to free a captive before you try an attack to save it, much more so if the captive is locked next to your target. Lesson three… not everyone can be saved…”

_____Kaede spoke so coldly to the young girl, even though Kaede wanted to be nicer, she really did she needed the girl to learn quickly. Much like the real world this had risk, the monsters had strengths and weaknesses that you needed to try and learn before you rushed into fighting them. Moving the spear to her back Kaede began to walk along the small cliff side trying to find the ramp down, and not just jump the ten foot drop.

”A black imp is extremely weak to light magic, if you tried to buff him it would turn him to stone because they can not absorb light magic correctly. As a opposite had you tried dark magic it would empower him. There is also a green acid Imp, and a red Demonic imp. Hopefully we don’t encounter the red Imp because they have true magic immunity and are very well known for giving close combat fighters a hard time as the largest imp around.”

 

As the imp absorbed the lightning Mahiru sent at it, she started panicking. "It's Flying type th-" Before she could finish her sentence, she was grabbed by Kaede. "I'm sorry, the creature looked like a Flying type..." She got out of the hold once it loosened up. She watched as Kaede dispatched of the imp and a wolf, listening to the after-skirmish lecture. As it started to end, she sighed. "I thought lightning would be super-effective because it was a flying enemy... Dumb Pokemon, teaching me to believe looks..." She puffed up her cheeks. "I won't make the same mistake again, let's get going." She took a deep breath and nodded.

 

_____Kaede could only blink at the girl, pokemon? How old was this person? Shaking the idea away from her mind Kaede focused on the task at hand. Tsuki-yumi happily following after Kaede before she clicked her tongue and the wolf whimpered before running to go back home. Kaede did not want the puppy in any more danger then she had already asked him to cross. Spinning her spear in her hands slowly Kaede tried to keep her muscles loose for the upcoming fight.

_____Most likely she was going to be fighting the demon along with his henchmen, not to mention she would have to keep a partial eye on @Mahiru Wind to make sure the girl was not trying to prove herself still. Kaede did not see, nor wish to see someone prove they could be useful. They either could, or they needed to practice more before such. That was how Kaede saw things as she crouched down and spun her spear under her arm and held it to the side partly behind her back.

_____Once again it seemed an Imp was around, another black one with wings along with two others. One trying to lead the group but the other two just kept trying to do the same thing. It was more a demon’s or summoner’s job to keep the imps in line, once they got to roam it was anyone's game if they did the task or not. Muscles in Kaede’s legs tensing up as her spear glowed with a faint outline of blue flames around the jagged red crystal. Slowly planning her exact movement was key to doing this quickly, without mistake, and before one could call for any others that might be around.

 

Mahiru followed Kaede, quickly checking behind her to see the wolf running away. He... or she... is so cute. She noticed Kaede go into a crouch and joined her quietly. A couple of those creatures, one of them the same color as before. What did Kaede say... The black one should be hit by light magic! She motioned to Kaede, trying to silently tell her that she was going to get the black creature. I learned from my mistakes, I can do this!

 

_____Kaede could not fully make out what @Mahiru Wind was trying to tell her, but without much time to work about such Kaede got her spear ready. She had two plans, one she tried to blast the entire group with so much magic they simply could not absorb it all, or two she rushed in and prayed it was not an ambush. Clicking her gears in her mind some more Kaede applied pressure to the soles of her feet and got ready. Cosmic form coating her shoes before a loud channeled explosion shot her forward and was used to startle the imps.

_____The way Kaede moved was near flawless, frame kept in a controlled balance, weapon quickly pressed forward and at an upward angle as she impaled the first Imp and quickly turned her grip and swung the weapon with her right hand to the side, the weight dragging it down as she partly impaled the second Imp with the jagged crudeness of the once far more dangerous weapon. This was, however only the beginning of her assault as she pulled her arm back and kicked forward to remove the Imp who was impaled to the tip still.

_____Kaede did not have much a moment to waste as she spun quickly, both hands holding her weapon as she swung to bash the third imp into a rock before arcing the spear over her frame to bash the impaled imp to the ground. Kaede was doing everything to keep all three imps pinned down and in to much pain to cry out for aid. It was risky, but Kaede had to act without delay or it would be the end of not only her but Mahiru as well most like.

 

Mahiru watched Kaede dig into the flying creatures, she stood back in shock. How could she do that much? Regaining her senses, she prepared one of her white magic spells. Please, work! She sent out a damage buff at the black one. After that was done, she stood on guard. I can't let my guard down now.
