Richard watches helplessly as the three adventurers all take off into the nearby vicinity to explore or stretch their legs. Only the reasonable Lord @Galadion has decided to stay, and even that is of little relief, seeing as the man is of… questionable integrity. Luckily for Galadion, Richard stays mercifully silent, if not for his slight whimper of fear. He wants to move on, but cannot leave his bodyguards behind.

@Hanno Futaba's attention on keeping Aurora safe keeps him distracted from the more minute details, like the marks carved into the dirt that are too sharp to be from a stick. To him, it looks like the average campsite.

However, @Aurora Labyrinth's closer inspection reveals that the campfire was put out within the last 10 minutes! Almost immediately before your arrival. Upon realising the fire was put out quickly, she looks up at Hanno to inform him what she found out only to see the bandits coming towards them. She grabs his hand and runs to get closer to the carriage while saying, "Everyone stay on alert! The bandits are approaching!"

The two bandits, realizing they've been exposed, launch themselves at your retreating figures. Prepare for combat.

Close by to the wagon, @Daedalus explores and stretches his legs. The sound of branches cracking, however, catch his attention. He looks up and notices shadows moving, heading towards the wagon. He throws a firecracker away from the wagon, temporarily distracting the bandits and giving him time to approach the wagon and warn them.

By the time Galadion and Daedalus are prepped for battle, the bandits are stepping through the shrubbery with swords out. There are two at the wagon! Prepare for combat.

  2. 'Damn it, I was careless again!' The Faerin frowned with anger while Aurora pulled his hand, he turned his head to look at the wagon, only to see that there were other bandits getting there, his comrades were in danger... And it was all his fault. 'That's no good, we will need to fight back...' He clenched his teeth and gently freed himself for the girl's grab.

"Sorry for putting you in this trouble, but we will need to fight-" He whispered to @Aurora Labyrinth, turning his back and wielding his gargantuan Shield... The Shield stared intently at the bandits with it's frightening eyes as it curled it's tentacles in a hostile way. "-Maybe you will need to cover me, but please give priority to your well being." Hanno said before finally darting out toward the bandits in a charge.

'I did a mistake again- Now I need to fix it... Crap, what I was thinking?!' The Faerin regretted, but trying to keep focus he shook his head, it wasn't time to think about that!

Charging at the Bandit "C", he tried to slam his Shield against the bandit's body... Succeeding on it or not, Hanno's emerald green eyes would stare fiercely at the other bandit, clenching his teeth with a defiant expression.

  3. Galadions eyes scanned the area and narrowed ever so slightly as he watched two bandits step through the shrubbery and out onto the path in-front of them, so it was exactly like the tactics used by the real life bandits of ancient times. A small growl left his lips as he readied himself for combat, as a magic user it wasn't like he really needed that long of a time to prepare. Taking a few steps forward Galadion placed himself between the bandits and the front of the horses, his silvery optics never once leaving his opponents before a small smirk spread across his face "You will curse the day you crossed paths with me"

Galadion spread his arms slightly as he looked at the bandits that were approaching them "Ast kyrnawi utzilah nal jistrah!", the mystical invocation seemed to echo loudly around the forest as the words of power fell from his lips. Once the final syllable had left his lips the spell took full effect, a ring of fire roared to life around the bandit that was closest to them before it roared to life in a full column of fire that completely engulfed the bandit, whether it had killed him or not would have to be determined later. Turning his head he looked at Richard and nodded his head "Sir I am going to need you to get to a more safe place, I will take care of these brigands"

  4. The firecracker distraction had worked just as planned, and Daedalus made it back to the wagon just in time to alert @Galadion and Richard. By the time the bandits had regained their focus, the wagon group had already regrouped successfully and removed the element of surprise from the playing field. As the Yladian mage took up the main defense, Daedalus clambered to the top of the wagon and began digging around in his comically large backpack.

    "C'mon, c'mon, I know they're in here somewhere...ah, here they are!"

Pulling out a pair of dangerous-looking traps, Daedalus pried each apart with a grunt, taking advantage of the chaos as Galadion attacked one of the advancing bandits with a ring of scorching flames. Flinging the open traps into the area immediately in front of the two bandits, he hoped that at least one of them would be stupid enough to step into one and break an ankle, so as to make things easier on their ill-prepared defensive front.

"STOP RIGHT THERE, VILLAINS! GO, ANKLEBITERS!"

  5. The girl stopped running as she felt her partner stop. On hearing what Hanno said, Aurora nodded. "Alright, I will be here for you" She said, noticing the regret the man held. She didn't think it was his fault that they got attacked. In fact, she was grateful the man stopped and investigated when he did. "I think what you did was right. If you had not stopped, the bandits would have ambushed us from the back and we wouldn't have gotten time to react" she tried to cheer Hanno up.

'uhh.. how do I do this?!' she thought as she looked at her hands, wondering how to use her magic. She watched at the bandits approached and Hanno used his shield to attack. 'I can do this' Aurora took a deep breath, thinking just what she wanted to use. She raised her hand, pointing it towards the bandit that Hanno had just attack. She mumbled some spell under her breath that seemed to come to her like second nature. A very small explosion took place near the bandit that caused dirt to come up, making it hard to see. "Ah, I'm sorry Mr Futaba!"She apologised for blocking Hanno's vision.

The horses, frightened by the fire, start to nervously back away, trying to lead the carriage away from the fight. Richard manages to keep the horses under control, just barely, and stays within reaching distance in case any other bandits are lurking in the woods. Despite Galadion's order to move away, he's too frightened by the sudden appearance of bandits to believe that anywhere else in the forest could be safer for him.

Bandit A takes the full brunt of @Galadion's attack and screams as the first seems to consume him. He steps out of the column of fire, covered in second-degree burns, and straight on to one of @Daedalus' anklebiting traps. "GAHHH!" The contraption snaps shut around his ankle with a loud click, causing the bandit to stumble and shriek. The bandit is sufficiently disorientated and exposed to attacks!

Bandit B, seeing all this happen, goes into a wild rage. "THAT'S MY BROTHE—AIIIEEEEEE!" He, too, steps into one of Daedalus' traps and screams as the trap locks around his ankle, tightly clamping around it. The bandit haphazardly tries to kick at the trap with his free foot, but it won't come loose.

Bandit C tries to sidestep @Hanno Futaba's charge, but is clipped painfully in the side by the shield. "Hah!" He glares back at Hanno and lashes out with his sword, barely missing Hanno. His attention on the smaller man makes him unable to avoid the blast that @Aurora Labyrinth's conjures at his feet.

Bandit D charges at Aurora and thrusts out with his sword. The blade slides along her left arm, cutting into it and drawing blood. "Eyes on me, girlie! I don't like hurtin' pretty faces. Stand down an' we might just let ya live!" He hops back and bounces on his feet, holding his sword up and grinning at her lecherously.

  7. A small smirk spread across Galadions face as he watched his flames engulf the Bandits, in his opinion this was a fate that should await all brigands and highwayman but what would a fantasy RPG be without its bandits? The small forest cleared echoed loudly with the pained screams of the now heavily burnt bandit, a bandit who was just have a very terrible day, stepping out of a column of fire and directly onto a trap that looked to Galadion as if it had snapped the mans ankle. It was at this point that he almost felt bad for the bandit, almost the amount of pain that the man had to be in must have been incredible.

Galadion sighed slightly as he looked at their cowardly employer, not only did the man talk unending but he was frozen in fear at the slightest sign of any danger, defending such a coward was going to prove difficult at some point along their journey. Shaking his head ever so slightly he turned his attention back to the already heavily burned bandit and decided to put the man out of his misery "Suh sula suh kalipar!", once again the clearing echoed mystically as the magical invocation left his mouth. As the last syllable of the words of power left his lips and the spell spring into being and a small ball of flames flared to life above his right hand.

Galadion narrowed his eyes as he took aim at his intended target before the fireball shot through the air and collided with the burnt face of the bandit. He was unsure if this would actually kill the man or not as he had used a considerably less powerful spell than the last one that he had cast, small embers flew in every direction after colliding with the mans face as Galadion stood there waiting to see if he had killed the bandit.

  8. 'Yes!' the girl thought with excitement as she saw her attack injure the bandit. Her eyes registered the movement of another bandit approaching her but her reflexes were slow.

Aurora clenched her teeth tightly to prevent herself from screaming, afraid her voice would distract her comrades, but even after trying to keep it in, a small groan of pain managed to pass her lips. She stared at her left arm, watching as her blood ran across her hand and fell onto the mud, before looking up at the man who attacked her. She listened to what he said and understood the evil intentions showing in his grin. There were two emotions evident in her eyes. Fear and determination. No matter how intimidating her opponent would be, she didn't want to back down. 'This is just the start. There are many more obstacles I will have to face as I play this game' she reminded herself.

"My apology but I'm afraid I do not take orders from you" she said as she lifted her left hand towards the bandit and mumbled another new spell. A light beam came falling down from the sky and headed towards the bandit but before it could hit him, the beam vanished.

The girl let out a shaky breath as she used her right hand to hold onto her bleeding arm, disappointment evident in her face. Unfortunately for her, the pain in her left hand took away her concentration from the spell she was trying to cast that caused the beam to vanish before it could hit.

  9. Hanno frowned with the bright magic blinding him for a brief moment, but this brief moment was more than enough to leave the other bandit charge at his comrade. His eyes widened in fear as he could only helplessly see the bandit thrusting his sword at the girl, making his teeth clench in anger.

'No no NO NO NO!' His heart accelerated and his chest felt tight in horror as he pictured the worst result from that situation. And in a fit of rage he swinged the shield toward the bandit with all his strength. The bandit would only be able to see central eye of the gargantuan shield staring at him with a very sinister and vengeful expression.

After attacking, the Faerin instantly blasted off toward the other bandit and his ally, charging as fast as he could.

Seeing that Aurora's spell didn't work made he worry even more, things weren't looking good at all. 'DAMN IT, SHE WILL... AARH! WHAT SHOULD I DO? DO I ATTTACK? BLOCK? HEAL?!' Hanno thought while being conflicted at himself, if he screwed up again... THIS COULDN'T HAPPEND!

He shook his head, letting out a growl. 'MAKE A DECISION ALREADY!'

"HEAL YOURSELF! HEAAAL!" The Faerin yelled stumbling in his words and getting close to them. 'Please, trust me Labyrinth-' "HEY- FIGHT ME, YOU COWARD!" He screamed at the bandit as he was reaching him.

  10. The traps had worked terrifically; the satisfying snaps of ankle bones was just the sound Daedalus needed to hear. Now that the bandits had been disabled, he could retreat to the safety of the cart and hunkerdown to provide support as needed. But before that...

“I’m sorry boys, but this is my ward, and this is my quest. Can’t have you ruining that now, can we?”

Looking around and setting his eyes on a knobbly, heavy stick, Daedalus grabbed it and patted it ominously with his free hand, sauntering up to the burnt bandit and drawing it back. A somewhat sadistic light flashed in his eyes for just a second before it came round to smash the bandit full in the mouth while he was restrained; Daedalus was not a fair fighter, that much was for sure.

    “Batter...up!”

After hearing the fleshy crunch of his swing on the bandit, Daedalus stepped back from the trapped bandits, whistling a merry tune as if he hadn’t just concussed a man who had already been burnt and had his ankles broken. Once back at the wagon, he’d begin rummaging through his backpack for presumably more terrifying contraptions.

Bandit A looks up in fear as mystical words echo in the clearing, his eyes briefly meeting @Galadion's before a fireball hits him in the face. "AaaAAaaAH! MY EYES!" As the fireball disperses, it becomes clear that the bandit's eyes have melted shut, making him unable to do anything even as @Daedalus approaches with a heavy stick. Branch meets temple, and bandit meets floor, the pain so unbearable he passes out where he stands. BANDIT A IS DEFEATED!

Bandit B begins to hyperventilate, kicking even more desperately at the trap around his ankle. The adrenalin strengthens him and he manages, finally, to pry it open and escape the trap. "Hah!" he cries out in relief. Unfortunately, he looks up in time to see Daedalus sadistically smash a branch into his brother's face. All he sees is his bandit brother, falling to the ground. Fury clouding his judgement, he charges. Forget retreat! Forget survival! "YOU KILLED MY BROTHER!" he screams as his sword comes lashing out at Daedalus' retreating back. He stops short of the Faerin as the man stumbles on his weak leg, and he falls, tears streaming down his face. "Fuck! D-Damn it!" He struggles to get to his feet, heavily favouring one leg, but eventually stands ready to fight through the pain… even if it kills him. BANDIT B IS ENRAGED, INJURED! All get +10 to hit!

Bandit C, on the other hand, is the sole target of @Hanno Futaba's fury. "W-Wait!" But it is too late. All he sees before darkness consumes him is the giant shield's eye, foretelling his horrible fate. With a loud crack, he takes the brunt of the shield swing in the face and is physically thrown backwards from the force of it. He lands like a ragdoll in the shrubbery, nose broken and bruises blooming. BANDIT C IS DEFEATED!

Bandit D stays focused on his prey, enjoying the way @Aurora Labyrinth tries and fails to fight back. It's almost adorable. "Is that so?" he asks. His grin widens as he steps closer to the injured girl, spinning his sword once as if to show off his sword skills. His eyes darken, however, as Hanno screams out at him. "DON'T INTERRUPT US!" he screams back, slashing out with his sword at Aurora as he turns to look over his shoulder at the charging Faerin. The sharp edge of his blade slashes into Aurora's left arm, cutting deep, but his focus has now shifted and he turns around, giving her his back. She's not a threat, after all. BANDIT D IS FOCUSED! Everybody except for Hanno gets +10 to hit! Hanno gets -10 to hit!

  12. Galadion watched as his fireball connected with the face of the bandit, while he had hoped to kill the man, he would have to be content with the fact that the heat from the flames had melted the soft flesh of the mans eyes shut permanently blinding him. He stood there and watched as his companion ran up and smashed the bandit upon the side of the head with a rather large tree branch causing the bandit to crash to the ground like a sack of potatoes.

Turning his attention to the Bandit that was still able to move around Galadion chuckled softly as he watched the man fall short when he attempted to attack his companion. "Sinur idish du!", the mystical invocation echoed around the forest clearing once again as the words of power fell from his lips, however this time when the last syllable was uttered no flames sprang to life. In fact this time around absolutely nothing happened and it appeared to all around that his spell had been a failure.

Suddenly three move Yladians stepped out of the shrubbery along the side of the path and made their way to stand next to Galadion as if they had secretly been following along them the entire time. Each one of them wearing golden armor and a white cloak upon their backs, while Galadion knew that these Yladians were nothing more than an illusion, he was the only one who knew that. Galadion turned his head and looked at the Yladian closest to him and nodded his head, and the man drew his sword before dashing forward and slashing the bandit across his chest.

While the sword may have been an illusion, the bandits brain would be unable to know that and think it took a real slash. This was the hidden talent in the Illusion Magic mastery, one could use their illusions to do mental damage. Now that there seemed to have been reinforcements Galadion once again turned his head back to their employer hoping that the appearance of more people would put him more at ease "Please find somewhere safer to hide instead of sitting out in the open"

  13. The Faerin screamed in an attempt to call the Bandit's attention, and for a second it seemed useless as the Bandit just yelled back at him and once again wounded his comrade. The fearful expression came back- 'DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT- LOOK AT ME, AT MEEE' He wished intensely.

But then the bandit suddenly turned around to face him, becoming completely focused on him. 'YES! NOW IT'S MY CHANCE' The Faerin braked his charge as soon as he got close to the bandit, as his hands glowed with a holy fire. 'I believe in you, Labyrinth. GO!'

    RADIANT HOLY BLAZE

Hanno aimed his hand at his comrade, and the sacred fire flew from the Faerin's hand directly toward @Aurora Labyrinth wounds. With a warm and cozy feeling, the holy blaze softened the pain and closed the girl's wounds. Seeing that she was safe to fight again, the Faerin yelled. "NEVERMIND WHAT I SAID, ATTACK!"

A sweat drop covered Hanno's forehead, as he thought on his partner's condition. 'I was really careless...' He distracted himself a bit, while staring the bandit with a fiercely look.

  14. “Nope! Can’t catch me!”

Dashing dexterously aside from the bandit’s anger-fueled slash, Daedalus threw another incitement at the man, hoping to anger him further and make him focus less on defence. Vaulting onto the wagon, he hoped that the Yladian king could hold the bandit back until he could unleash his…’special attack’.

Still rummaging through his backpack, Daedalus heard @Galadion evoke another spell. Looking up for a second to watch the fun unfold, Daedalus was a little disappointed to see that nothing much had happened. As he was about to go back to looking into his backpack, he caught movement at the corner of his eye...and saw the platoon of Yladian elites step out of the woods, as if they’d been there all along. With an incredulous grin, Daedalus regarded Galadion in a whole new light, not knowing this was an illusion.

“Hey, maybe I did misjudge you, Your Majesty. You do have subjects, after all!”

Deciding to make things easier for the Yladians, Daedalus directed his attention away from his backpack for a second, rubbing his palms together mischievously.

“Hear the lament of a thousand tortured souls! Screamer!”

Drawing his palms apart and clapping them together suddenly, the air around Daedalus seemed to drop in temperature by several degrees. Then a shadowy purple mist began seeping from the ground around the bandit’s feet.

Before the brigand could make another move, his own shadow would wrap itself around him, then contort itself into a terrifying, shadowy creature with a far beyond sane amount of mouths. Whatever it was, it would then utter a scream from every mouth at once. The sounds of a thousand agonized voices bellowing at his face would surely scare the man so far out of his own wits that he would be rooted to the spot, unable to move for sheer terror.

  15. She heard Hanno telling her to heal herself but she wasn't too sure about whether she should. Aurora was still a beginner. She didn't know how effective her healing would be, or if she could even attempt on the heal. The pain just distracted her too much to use any magic properly.
All her comrades fought and were unscathed and there she was with a bloody arm, having someone else come to her as though she was a damsel in distress, something she wasn't too happy with. The girl looked at her attacker in the eye, refusing to turn away from his gaze. She didn't want him to get the satisfaction of having her look away with fear.

She let out a gasp as the bandit's sword once again hit her in the arm, the wound growing deeper. 'Is this the end?' She wondered. Aurora watched in confusion and hesitation as she saw Hanno direct some sort of flame towards her. With curiosity, the girl lightly tapped it using the tip of her fingers, only to feel a sense of warmth engulf her entire body. 'My arm doesn't hurt anymore' she glanced at her left arm only to see it was completely healed.

A smile settled on her lips as she took a few steps away to create some distance between herself and the bandit. "Hey Mr! Eyes on me!" She called out to him just as he did before. She closed her eyes as she receited her previous failed spell with full concentration. She heard a sound of something striking and reopened her eyes. 'Did it hit?!' She wondered.
