Vintergard the famed capital city of the player nation of Astorea, it had been a very long time since Galadion had found himself within its borders. From what he could tell not much about the city had changed and several part of it were still in ruin it seemed. But that was to be expected as this city had already seen more than its fair share of violence and destruction having already survived not one but two wars. And now here he was travelling through its unfamiliar streets at random, he had no destination in mind as he just took each turn as he felt like it. As he made his way through the streets Galadion allowed his silvery optics to roam from building to building, he wasn't exactly sure what he was even doing in this city if he was being honest with himself. Here he was roaming around aimlessly in Astorea when he was building a nation of his own in Yladia, the time that he was wasting here could have been better spent in his own lands. Turning his head Galadions eyes landed upon a jewelry shop, well if he was going to be a king then he would need to look the part wouldn't he? Making his way across the street he pushed the door open, the bell above ringing to announce his presence to the owner of the shop, who just so happened to be a small fat human male who came shuffling out from the backroom at the sound of the bell. "Hello brave adventurer and welcome to Crasters Baubles and Trinkets, is there anything that I can get for you today", it was clear that this man was a Non-Player Character just from how he was speaking which was unsurprising most of the shop owners in the world of Terraphere were made up of NPCs. It was actually extremely rare to find a shop that was owned and operated by a Player, but they were out there in the world few and far between. Galadion tilted his head in acknowledgement of the world and smiled slightly "Hello sir, I am just looking around today if you don't mind". Turning away from the shop owner he allowed his gaze to go over the inventory of the shop, there were indeed some very nice looking pieces of jewelry in this shop. Reaching down he picked up a golden necklace that had a large ruby in the center of a large circle, it was indeed a fine piece but nothing special replacing the necklace from where he had picked it up from Galadion continued roaming the shop looking at piece after piece. @Camus Varic
How exactly had he found himself here exactly? Perhaps it had been curiosity or pure boredom or perhaps a mixture of the both-- yet here he was. Vintergard, the capital city of the player nation of Astorea. It wasn't like he was unwelcome here or anything, it was the player's nation, so didn't that mean all players were welcomed if not encouraged to come there. It was like he was making his way through the entire place, there was so much to see and yet so little he could actually do on foot. He had seen other's going about on their brilliant little horses, it was if they were rubbing it in they were better. He was getting there in the game and if he actually was honest with himself-- he was much better than the people on the horses. He would get there, though for now he got to enjoy the lovely landscape on foot. On foot, he could get to places he wouldn't be able to get unless of course he was somehow allowed fly or something. Flying, now that was a concept in this land that he doubted any player could actually do. It seemed from what he had seen so far that the mechanics of the game were fairly similar to real life. Humans in the world outside of the game couldn't fly unless they were in devices that allowed them to-- which meant that naturally players didn't mysterious have a pair of wings. Well not that he knew of actually. He had seen others like him, and he had even run into a Faerin. Humans were easy enough to spot as well. Now as his crimson eyes glanced along the outskirts of the city he could spot many a different people. He just didn't know if all of them were actually players or if some of them were NPCs. He didn't really care enough to actually seek the answer for that. He was bored... again. He thought of turning around and heading away from the city, but maybe someone there would be worthy of his actual time. Though no one had managed to hold his interest too much, though some actually entertained them-- but he hadn't found anyone that he had deemed worthy of truly investing a lot of his precious time. He had a pretty decent idea of the landscape of the game due to this actually. The other players didn't interest him as much as some of the beasties in this game did. He had seen it as he had come closer to the city, it was greatly outside of his reach though. Though he would never forget what he saw. He had been bored and poking at some creature or had it been a leaf-- who cared-- but he was poking something and happened to look up when he heard a noise that sounded like a bunch of flapping. This peaked his curiosity and he had to look, there in the sky was a mass of flying alligators. The way they were flying seemed to be almost as if they were angry at someone or something. In the real world, well alligators didn't fly, but why couldn't they here. That is what had got him with an odd almost childlike mode, his eyes sparkling as he watched the group disappear into a bunch of the trees, a snarling sounded echoing behind them. His eyes sparkled and his crimson eyes kept watching for them to come back-- they didn't. "I want one!" It was a declaration to no one other than himself. He looked down at the sword at his side, it was better than the stick , but he had still kept it. The stick , well the stick was some strange memento to him of his weaker days. Others might find it stupid , boarding insane-- but no one actually understood who he was. He could craft and mold a character for this game, but no matter how someone was, a part of them would always be put into said character. Outside of the game, he was more misunderstood than anything. He had a lot of scars that he held, lots of hatred too. He was given as much as the people could give him, but the Americas weren't anything to the home he once had. No one could hide the fact that he had lost something the day he had been taken away. He had lost his little sister, and perhaps that was why he created Camus the way he did. He had no clue if she was alive or not, but he had been taken away and not been allowed to go back. He had been bartered away as if he was some animal rather than a human. Than again his father had treated him like nothing, the fighting and the abuse. Scars weren't just always physical, they were also mental and thus another reason why he was so messed up here. Those mental wounds of his had come over with him, along with some of his little quirks. No, he must not allow himself to get lost in thought. Right, he needed to go into town to see what it held for him. His crimson eyes easily going about each structure, there were actually shops here that looked rather interesting. The names of the things were odd, but who was he to actually complain about the names of the things here. The town was complete not with shops and eateries , but also Inns and Pubs. Though he didn't decide to go within a Pub, instead his feet decided to lead him to a door of one of the shops. Crasters Baubles and Trinkets, what exactly would he find there. The shop keeper seemed to repeat the same welcoming that he had given the person before him, but this was a thought that would be unknown to Camus. He had come in slightly after the other Yladian, so he had not heard the small exchange between the two. He didn't answer the NPC shop keeper instead he seemed to shuffle about the place. Soon enough muttering "just lookin" with an almost bored expression. Things like jewelry and things like that didn't exactly interest him, though he had a pair of red gem earnings that dangled from his ears. Those along with the hair-tie was something he had ended up creating when he had done his clothing for the game. What possessed him? Was it because of some odd tie to his old life that he decided to go with that or had it just been some glitching in the system that had given him said little things like the earrings. He went around the shop , but soon enough his attention was not on the things within the shop but rather the person in there with him. He put on his best smile, a fake facade he was getting rather good at. Now what exactly could this person do for him today. From his overall appearance the player didn't look like some newbie. He doubted this was some NPC that was prancing around the game either, so just who was this player. He had to see. He approached the other , smile still showing and crimson eyes looking over the other. A shop was such a boring place to meet someone whom he may use as a pawn, but they would see how it all worked out. "Interesting pieces here" he was trying to make typical conversations. A golden ring caught his glance and he figured since it interested him he would make it the topic of conversation. "The things here are clearly better than what I've seen around." He didn't actually know how to have normal interactions with anyone, all of his previous ones well he had been over the top with, he decided he would start with a different approach this time. He wasn't exactly a true newbie anymore, he hadn't just spawn within the game, he understood it better as well as who he was in this game. "Name's Camus and you are?" There was a sense of the arrogant tone in his voice, something he just couldn't get away from. He was introducing himself as if he was some high and mighty person that needed to worshipped. If he played his cards right maybe he could use whoever this was-- well if they were worth the time.
Galadion continued to make his way around the shop, it certainly held a very large selection of all kinds of jewelry accessories that one could hope to decorate their bodies with, the necklace that he had just been holding was one of those pieces. His gaze had dropped down now to a ring that held a particularly large emerald in it, it was definitely a piece that was fit for a King but the question then became should he buy it or not? The color of green that the gem held was absolutely gorgeous and he felt as if he was going to loose himself staring into the depths of its many facets. Thinking about jewelry brought a thought to his mind, he was going to be a royal and that meant that he would need to come up with his own House Sigil. Something that when people looked upon it that they would know who it belonged to, but what would he take? He could take a dire wolf for his sigil but if he did that then he felt like he would be ripping off House Stark from the real world show Game of Thrones, something that he really didn't want to do. But a dire wolf was the very first creature that he ended up fighting when he spawned into this world, the game had been a little unfair to him in that regard since he very well could have died right away. That really would have been unfair and probably would have made him stop playing this game and he wouldn't have gotten to see many of the sights that he had or make the memories that he had come to cherish from inside this virtual world. He would have never seen the Crystal Forest of the Zalra region in Yladia or experienced the thrill in taking down a cave troll with the help of another player that is as new to the game as you are. If he had left the game as soon as he had arrived he never would have come to care about the Yladian people the way that he had, their plights and problems. He had decided that he was going to do everything in his ever growing power to return them to their ancestral home of Yladia, he would search all over the world and free every single Yladian that he came across that had been enslaved until they were all free. But his first problem was going to be taking the country side back from not just nature which had already reclaimed much of the area that had been built upon by generations passed but also pushing out the creatures that had set up their homes and claimed it as their territory. But that wasn't even his biggest problem, the biggest problem was the reason the Yladian people were forced from their home in the first place, the demon forces that held dominion over the north. If the stories that he had heard and had been told were to be believed then their power was incredibly fearsome, so much so that even some of the most veteran players of this game still had trouble fighting one or two of them. And he had to contend with an entire army of them, and that was just the enemy to the north, on his other borders were the neighboring countries who wouldn't think twice about invading the newly found country the second it was on its feet, The more he thought about all the obstacles that he would have to overcome to complete his goal the more it started to seem impossible, but he refused to allow himself to think like that. A defeatist attitude would get him absolutely nowhere in this world except an early trip to the grave, something that he had been luckily to avoid as of yet. As the saying went, where there was a will there was a way and he most definitely had the will so he was going to find a way. He didn't realize that he had lost himself so deeply in thought while standing there staring down at the emerald ring in his grasp as if he was lost into his own little world, blinking a couple of times he brought himself back to the world around him and chuckled ever so slightly. He had been so lost in his thoughts that he had almost not noticed the other Yladian male who entered the shop shortly after he did, almost but notice him he did. From the way the man carried himself Galadion could easily tell that he was a Player, he had spent enough time in this virtual world that he could for the most part usually tell the two apart, When the male made his way over to him and attempted to strike up conversation Galadion turned his head and looked down at the ring that the male had been speaking about, it was indeed a fine piece but in his mind there was nothing really special about it nothing that made it stand out. Something about this player made Galadion slightly cautious as if he was talking to someone who had a hidden agenda which caused him to put up his guard ever so slightly so when the man asked him for his name he decided that he wasn't going to give him his real name for now "The name is Joen, Joen Panelis. Its nice to meet you Camus, so you looking for a piece of jewelry?"
The thing about trying to strike up a conversation with another was that it could always go either way. One could have a godo talk and it could go brilliantly, but on the other hand it also could go absoulutely dreadful. These were facts that he had carried over with him when he had started this game. Not just that, but he knew of the pain and the hardships or everything that the real world had so gladly dealt him without a second thought. Though these were things he hid well, they were carried over because it was what made the player who they were. Yet hy would he so willingly dwell on it when there was so much more that he could focus on. He hadn't not noticed how the other Yladian was so absorbed within a ring. It hadn't been the same ring, but a ring that held an emerald. It was large and looked quite pricey, it was something that a noble would wear-- well that or someone with too much money. He kept these thoughts to himself. He could tell so much just by the little details of a person, such as the way they held themselves or what they looked at. Tone of voice was also a dead giveaway when trying to figure out people. All of his experience, well aside from a few cases, had all been because of what the player had endured. The guy seemed friendly enough, greeting him back and asking him a question. Though there was something off about him, he just couldn't quite place his finger on it just yet. Had it been the words he spoke or perhaps the way he had looked at the ring. Compared to the one he had been looking at, the one he had pointed out was truly nothing. It was simple, golden and had a small gem set in it-- though it wasn't as shiny as the emerald of the other ring. There was just something about this man, was it because he gave off some feeling to him. Did he like the feeling or was it too close to home? Was he good or evil? He didn't seem like a bad person at all, some people just gave off those vibes. Though he didn't seem like some goody two shoes type either. Yes, he was trying to analyze the other's character just by the few words that had actually been spoken to him. Why, because that was what he did. He was intelligent, but that didn't mean that he knew how to carry on some normal conversation, especially one about jewelry. Who did that anyways? He kept a smile on his lips though as he soon parted his lips to speak. "Nice to meet you as well Joen." What kind of name was Joen Panelis anyways? Either the person had no creativity and wanted to be dull, or it was some fake facade. Though the question if the latter of the two was the cause, what was this man hiding? Or perhaps he was one of those people who didn't trust people easily. At least he was a little more creative than to use John Doe or John Smith or Billy Bob.Though he were sure he would meet people like that. Joen wasn't much better at all, but he had gotten some points of some type when he had given that name. Though what if it was his real name and he was just that dreadful. Would he be boring? Well he needed to check out. "I actually just stumbled upon this store, something about it drew me in. I mean it would be nice to have something well nice to have as one's own. Everyone does enjoy their own things." Except for him he would rather have toys to play with in the form of people. He wasn't exactly lying in his words, everyone did what something. Though perhaps that little part had come from the player behind instead of from Camus himself , it was such a split second thing. Though crimson eyes were looking over the other male. "Seems like you had your eye on that ring right there. A ring truly fit for a King , if ya ask me." He seemed nice, minus the arrogant edge to his voice. It was part of him, but he had dialed it down a small dosage. A ring truly fit for a King, the words tasted of poison. He hated being nice to people, but if he wanted to get anywhere with this person he had to. He needed to swallow down the awful taste and continue with the painfully boring talk about jewelry. Who knew maybe this might be worth while for him. He would rather be dealing with the flying alligators though, but he was in this place with a painfully boring man. They were the same race so maybe he might learn something meaningful or perhaps he could provide some entertainment later on. "Say, have you ever seen a flying alligator? I saw a mass of them on my way into the city. I had to look twice actually." He couldn't help himself from talking about the beasties , but he did leave out the fact that he wanted one. He would get one, that would be his reward for having a nice conversation for now. Though the moment he found anything interesting, he would latch on to this one and maybe just maybe keep him around him. He need to keep the Jo Jo wrapped around his finger no matter what he did, well if he was interesting and useful of course.
Galadion continued to stand there and look at the other Yladian for a few moments before he turned away from him and looked back to the emerald that was in his hand, it seemed as if the other male had bought the lie that his name was Joen which would make their interactions much easier. Every time that he had introduced himself honestly and told people that he was the King of Yladia he had always been met with disbelief or a lot of the time out right mockery and he had grown tired of it. Now that this man thought that he was just Joen, a Yladian of no importance then things should go smoother and they would be able to have a normal conversation. He stood there looking at the ring when the males comment about it being fit for a King caused him to slightly lift his head and look at him before he chuckled as he turned and looked back at the emerald ring in his head "Indeed it is a very nice ring but sadly it is far outside of my price range" with that he lowered his hand and replaced the ring back upon the stand from where he had picked it up from. He really hadn't meant to spend that much time looking at the thing in the first place he had just seemed to have gotten lost in his own thoughts while he was holding it. Galadion couldn't quite put his finger on it still but something about this man made his feel like he needed to be on guard, as if he was staring down at a coiled rattlesnake that was ready to strike him at any moment. Every instinct that he had developed from his time in this virtual world was screaming at him that something was off about him but there were absolutely no tell tale signs as to what it was which caused him to be all the more suspicious. Galadion had only accomplished all that he had and come as far as he has by trusting his gut and not ignoring what the instincts that he had developed over time were telling him and he didn't intend to start ignoring them here and now. As he stood there Galadion heard the male mention something about the flying alligators of the region as if he had never seen one, it was this small bit of information that made something very clear to him, this male was a new player. Any seasoned player of this world wouldn't have been all the surprised and excited to see a flying alligator, they were a pretty common sight in this region. But this made the question he had all the more curious, if this man was a new player then why did he feel so uneasy around him, what was it about the individual that set him on edge? A slight not came from Galadion head as he looked back to the other male and smiled slightly "Yeah, they are a pretty common sight around this region". He still wasn't sure what it was about the man that made him so uneasy, maybe it was the fact that ever since he had met the man he felt as if he was sizing him up, trying to find any weakness that could be exploited and taking ever opportunity to extract information from him that could be used against him at a later date. Having replaced the ring back upon its stand Galadion looked around the shop once more but seen nothing else that stood out to him. Seeing nothing else in the shop that interested him Galadion turned his attention back to the other male next to him and decided it was time to finally get answers out of him. Who he was and what he wanted chiefly among them but this was not the setting to do it, he wouldn't allow any potential conflict between the two of them to cause unneeded destruction to any of the NPCs who lived in this area "I am actually fixing to head out towards their nesting ground, want to come with me?", what better place to take the man to get answers from him than the very place he wanted to go? It was remote and secluded and best of all there was no NPCs around to get hurt.
The ring wasn't really he truly cared about at all, he could care less if it was in the other's price range or not. It wasn't exactly an indicator on what the other was truly about. Well it did tell some about his character to say the least, he was in a way honest. Yeah an honest Joen, who would have actually thought of a thing. Someone with said name wasn't exactly who he would say would be open about rather or not they had money or not needed to buy said thing. Though it wasn't like the guy was giving him the digits on how much his price range actually was either. Though the difference between them was he might have actually stolen the ring when the NPC shopkeepers back was turned towards them. It would just take a slight slip of the hand the right amount of tucking it in a pocket that was out of sight and the ring would have been easy to get. That was how things had to be gotten sometimes. He even took slight joy in it too, or rather he would assume he would. He hadn't gotten to go into many stores or anything, but he assumed it would really get the blood pumping. There were two rings that was being discussed within this time frame, the one he had been eying and of course the emerald one he had stated would be fit for a King. It would be so simple to slip the thing away without anyone noticing. The display was simple enough and a simple ring would not be missed too much. Though what would be in it for him should he steal the ring for the non creative person. Maybe he could use it as bait to get him what he wanted, that could actually work. Yes. Though it was all a matter of picking the right time. He was fingering the ring he was talking about, holding it as if looking at the price. He was listening as the talking of the flying alligators seemed to catch. So they were pretty common around this region, it didn't surprise him to hear something was pretty common. Though it didn't make him not want one still. He had to have one, it was something that would happen too. He didn't realize that by saying something like that he had given away his level status. He was a new player sure, but he was already so much more ahead than others. It wasn't that hard to figure things out. A slip of his fingers once the shop keeper seemed to busy himself with something else and the ring went up into his sleeve. Though it looked as if he was putting the thing back into the mass of other rings. His ring was easy enough to get away with grabbing, but the emerald might be a tad rougher. That was when the other Yladian spoke and offered for him to come along with him to the nesting grounds of the beasties that he so wanted to see up close and personal. Crimson eyes actually sparkled slightly at that thought. "Do I? I would love to" it was genuine excitement. He had no clue what might be the reasoning for the change of location, but it would make for a much interesting environment. So one ring was down and the most important one to any plans he might have at getting to the other, well it was yet to be grabbed just yet. All he had to do was get it and put it into the inner sleeve pocket. So maybe it wasn't an actual pocket, but it would work until he was out of the store. 'Why not put it on his finger?' Now that was a thought, but if he did that and left the store like that , well he would be caught. At his level right now he couldn't do something so bold. It was better than if he was just doing it with no skill at all, but he had skills-- just not truly mastered yet. He knew it, he felt it within his very being, he could do this. It was just all about timing. The NPC was looking at them again, a small glance before going back to what he was doing. Perhaps the only reason he had looked was the fact that he had reacted as he had to the question. "Though before we leave there is one more thing I would like to check out." He would speak perfectly and go to look at another ring, closer to the Emerald. It was easy enough to reach his finger to sneak it into his palm, half dropping it. It was probably too much to ask for to get out of here with both things in his grasp-- but he was sure as hell gonna try. It wasn't like he didn't have money, but it was sure as hell that this Emerald ring wasn't in his price range either. He looked at the ring he had picked up, the one in plain view and looked at the price. A whistle leaving him "what a ring, sadly it isn't in my price range either" he spoke as he set the ring down. By now his finger had gone to sneak the other ring into the hidden pocket. Hoping that at least the other Yladian didn't see, not that he cared. It was rather it came down to rather or not he was a goody two shoes or not, should the shopkeeper actually not see him at all and he got sold out. It wasn't like he wasn't doing him a favour though. He gave the other male a slight push "now come on now that I figured out that my eyes are bigger than my pocket. I think it is time to go see this nesting ground" he said being sure to not let the ring come out of their hidden place.
Just as he was turning to leave Galadion heard the other male make the statement that he wanted to look at another piece of jewelry before the duo set out on their journey to the flying alligators nesting grounds. A statement that brought a slight about of suspicion to his mind as he looked back at the male that had joined him, just a mere moment ago the man had just been saying that he wasn't really that interested in the store and had just wandered in and not he wanted to stay and look around? What was he up to, was he stealing for the shop? Well even if he was it wasn't like it was his problem, the owner of this shop wasn't a Yladian so he really didn't care what happened to him or what he lost. Turning his head away from the man for a moment he allowed his silver optics to roam the shop one more and wondered if any of the rings in the shop had any enchantments on them. While enchanted items were kind of rare they could occasionally be found in shops such as these and often times had the power to decide the outcome of a fight in one direction of the other. But surely if there was such an item in this store then it would be way outside of what he could afford if the price of the simple emerald ring had been any indication to go off of. Suddenly he felt a pair of hands upon his back as the male was attempting to heard him out of the shop, something that made him almost certain that he had stolen something from the shop. Especially with the the haste he was in now to try and exit the building, however Galadion was completely willing to indulge him he was planning on interrogating and possibly torturing the man in the not to distant future anyway so why not let him keep the trinket that he was attempting to make off with. Just like when they had entered the shop the bell above the door announced their departure from the establishment as well which prompted the shop keeper to lift his head and look in their direction "Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful day". Raising his hand slightly he bid the shopkeeper a farewell with a small wave before turning his attention to the street that they had just stepped out onto. It was slightly more busy now than it had been when he had entered the shop it wasn't so crowded that he couldn't make his way down it. Step by step and turn by turn Galadion led his intended victim towards the edge of the city before stopping at the city gate and looking off into the distance for a second. Turning his head he looked at the man who was traveling with him now "It a short distance from here so I hope you are ready", having said that he turned and made his way through the gate and left the city behind. It didn't take a terribly long time before the city was nothing more than a diminishing figure behind them, they had been traveling on foot for about two hours when suddenly the sound of flapping wings could be heard overhead and a small flock of the alligators were seen flying over. Coming to a stop Galadion turned his head and looked at the man who had been traveling with him and smiled slightly "So we are nearly there, from here on we are going to be seeing a lot more of them and they are going to likely attack us at some point. I hope you know how to fight", with that said he turned away from the man and once more started his walk without waiting for a response.
He had made it out of there without being caught. No, he had been found out-- that he was sure of. Joen wasn't a creative soul to say the least from the name he had chosen, but he had noticed how the other had seemed to look away slightly when he had gone to looking at the rings. So surely he had been caught by the other Yladian , but he hadn't reported him so that was all that mattered. He had actually just allowed him to walk out of the shop as the clueless shopkeeper didn't realize that he was leaving with two of his rings. Unless the high prices didn't mean anything and they were just there, though something told him that by the time the shopkeeper noticed he would be long gone. The thing about him was he liked living on the edge, but he also knew the basics to not get him caught or killed. Intelligence was a key to being so much better in life. He could play his cards right and he would get his flying alligator and he would maybe get a new toy in the process. Joen had made the mistake when he had gotten lost in the ring, as if enchanted by it. It had allowed him to realize that he had wanted said ring and people were more than willing to do things when they had something in return. He waved with his hand not hiding the hidden pocket, last thing he needed was his loot going to the ground. He was a pity thief, no he was doing it was other reasons. He wanted the ring he had pocketed for himself and the other was for him to get something he wanted from the other male. Of course, he could never be too careful with others. They might be trying to trick him, that was what made life truly fun. He craved it , but he also enjoyed having pawns that would bow to him. He wanted it all because he believed the world owed him that much. He had gone to walking along side the other, what if he was being led into a trap? If that was the case, he would escape with his smooth talk. The other was male, but it didn't mean he didn't know how to smooth-talk his way out of anything. No one was that hardheaded as to not be able to be won over by smooth-talk . It also didn't hurt that he had the emerald ring on his side, he could trade it away like he planned anyways. He would probably enjoy if he was tortured, his pain tolerance was set on realistic within this game-- that only made it more pleasurable for him. When the other male spoke to him about the short distance, his crimson eyes went to look him over. "Of course~ I've been ready for this since I saw the little boogers flying over me entering the city" no need to lie about such a thing. He still wanted one and this was only going to help him gain that goal for himself. If he played his cards right he could be leaving this city with one of the gators in tow. He actually planned for it to happen. The rest of the distance was done in silence, which left him with his own thoughts. He came up with a plan for every single possible happening. His mind was a scary thing when it was truly active. His eyes would take in the surrounds and making a mental map. better to be prepared for if he had to come back by himself. He had to wonder what possessed the other to want to go to the gators, but he didn't question it since it served his purpose. Unless he was wanting to gain a gator himself! Well there was plenty of them for all, so he wouldn't care if the other got one for himself. He hummed as he continued on the way there, humming as if he wasn't around anyone else in fact. It was the same melody that he tended to favour since he had come here. He still had to wonder where the tune had come from, but it was a good one. To others , they might see it as strange or rather creepy-- but he didn't care what others thought about him or his tune. Two hours later, they were suddenly greeted by the sound of flapping wings overhead and there they were. The beautiful beasties that he had been searching for. He had looked up at the sound of the flapping wings so he could see the things. Crimson eyes were sparkling, he wanted one now. Though he looked at the other when he was once more addressed. He smiled, it was a devious smile that spoke of his almost instable nature. The thing was, he was fighting as he seemed fit-- it was reckless, but he fought as he seemed fit. "Brilliant! I sau bring them on, if they want to attack us than so be it. As for fighting, I can hold my own." Though the man was walking again, so it was unknown rather or not he had seen the devious smile or the way his eyes sparkled. He went to rest his hand upon the hilt of the long sword at his side. The melody had continued to be hummed after that as he took back to walking. Though he stopped humming to look at the other and decided to ask a question. "So you know why I would have wanted to come here. Though, what is your reason for wanting to come here." He had gone to walk closer to the other's side and went to poke him in the side as he spoke. "What you have a special little interest in the beasties too?" He almost seemed cheerful about this interaction, but in truth he truly didn't care for it.
Step by step led them further and further away from the cities borders and towards the intended destination, the breeding grounds of the regions Flying Alligators not a rather nice place to visit but it would serve the purpose that he had in mind. This far away from the city it didn't matter how loud that the other male screamed no one would be close enough to hear him since most of the people around here had enough sense to stay far away from this place. No one wanted to visit the mating ground of the Flying Alligators I mean who in their right mind would even want to go and see the damn creatures much less be around them when they are at their most violent. Right now was the mating season of the Flying Alligators and with like so many other creatures during that time of the year they were extremely more hostile than usual and likely to attack without even the slightest provocation. They would have to be extra care to stay at a safe distance from some of the larger specimens if they wished to traverse the area with remote safety, although if the alligators attacked and killed him companion then really they would just be doing him a favor and taking care of a problem for him. Finally the scenery around them had changed, the trees that seemed to be never ending around them finally came to an end and they found themselves standing at the edge of a large swamp. The smell of the air around them had changed, no longer did it smell a bit putrid from the gasses that the swamp was belching forth, and quite literally belching at that as the sound that the gas pockets made was akin to that of someone burping. Standing there he turned his head ever so slightly and looked at his companion and chuckled slightly at his question and nodded his head "I suppose wondering why I agreed to come out here would only natural. Well if I had to give an answer I would say its because you are a new player and a Yladian at that. I try and help as many Yladians as I possibly can" Turning his back upon the other players he looked out over the swamp range before them, they could see the water roiling and bubbling in places where some of the creatures had already begun their mating ritual. The sounds of the mating creatures filled the air only combated by the screeches and hisses put of by those who were still trying to attract a mate, but then suddenly a different area filled the area "Soth ya locitum pveathr!". The words of power that fell from Galadions mouth seemed to mystically echo around the swamp as he recited the magical invocation needed for one of his spells. Should the other Yladian male attempt to take another step forward he would notice that his legs wouldn't respond to his command, looking down he would notice that his legs had been converted completely to stone. Slowly Galadion would turn around and looked at his traveling companion, a blank expression upon his face as he folded his arms behind him slightly "Now you are going to tell me the truth about yourself. What is it that you are hiding from me?"
He had continued to walk along side the other male. As he did so he was making sure to get the rings from the inner pocket. The one he had gotten for his 'companion' he slid into his pant pocket. The golden ring he had stolen for himself, he slipped onto his finger. It was his now and he didn't care what anyone had to say about it. No one could prove a thing that he stole it or not-- not that he would be caught. The trees were becoming thinner here and he could smell the change in the air. They were so close and then there they were. The swamp that was the mating grounds of the creature that he had so wanted. His thoughts were of the violent death of the other-- should it go south. How good was his beast taming? Would he be able to actually make one of the things attack the other? No he wouldn't have to, they would do it for him. He would just have to make sure the thing submitted to him and didn't kill him as well. He looked out at the swamp as he came to a halt listening to the other's words. He was giving him the reason why he had agreed to come out here. It was because he was a new player and because of his racer. Help, this guy wanted to help the Yladians. Well he wished the guy luck, because trying to unite anyone was hard-work. That was when he heard the words that seemed to echo around the swamp. What the hell was the guy doing now? His crimson eyes glared at the other. "Oh now your demanding to know the truth about me. What I'm hiding? Who said I had anything to hide" he more or less spat as he tried to move closer only to be stopped. He looked down , well that was just great. A sickly smile spread across his lips upon seeing the stone that had encased his legs. That would be why his legs had suddenly felt heavy and would explain the chanting echo as well. "Aren't ya clever." He was looking for a way to get out of this and turning things in his favour. "So let me guess your little bit about wanting to try and help as many Yladians as possible was a bunch of tosh. As for hiding something from you, you must be bloody joking." His players accent never had shown itself within the game, but at that point it was clear in his words. Maybe a glitching of the game, but his temper was rising. He didn't do any magics as his masteries, and he had been caught by bloody magic. Though he would sweet talk his way out of this fix. "Right where are my manners. Clearly you have a good reason for wanting to accuse me of hiding something. You said it yourself, I'm a new player. What could I possibly hide? I have a small liking to taking what I want, so what. Nothing wrong bout it." His voice had gone back to normal by this point and he was watching the other. "If you insist on saying I'm hiding something, I'm calling you on your rubbish excuse of a name. No way that is your real name. Why don't you start us off by saying your actual name." Was the man actually using an alias or was he just not that creative? Might as well get it out there regardless. He would get out of this all the same, it was all just a matter of time. He hoped an gator would come and chop down on the man's head. Saviour of the Yladians yeah right. Friend to them, wanting to help em -- all completely and utter rubbish if he ever heard it. Though he didn't go on about that just yet, he could use it. He would use it and the ring, but later. Sure he had said it prior, but he hadn't hit the ball home just yet on it. All in due time.
Galadion stood there looking at the man before him, his eyes were cold and untrusting, the eyes of a man who would without hesitation or mercy strike this man before him down without a second thought. The eyes of a man who had not only seen death but been the cause of countless deaths so what was the death of one more individual that could have been attempting to stand in the way of him reaching his goal. Galadion folded his hands together behind his back a mischievous grin upon his face as he watched the man attempt to step towards him but only to look down his eyes seeing that his legs had been turned to stone. Well that was what his brain had told his eyes anyway, the spell that Camus had been caught in was one from Galadions Illusion Magic Mastery. It caused his brain to receive the signals that his legs have been completely converted into stone making him unable to move them, the brain was such a powerful organ that even though it was just an illusion and not real, the brain thought it was real and so to Camus at least....it was real. He would feel the pain of his legs having suddenly been turned to stone as well as the continuing pain that was increasing along his body as the stone seemed to 'grow' up his body covering more and more of it by the second. With enough time the illusion would have Camus believe that the stone had grown up to his chest and even turned his lungs to stone, when that happened Camus would just stop breathing and stand there until he suffocated, something that he decided to tell him. "We can stand here as long as you want, but that stone isn't going to stop growing on your body and with enough time it will even turn your lungs to stone and when that happens, you will suffocate and die." chuckling slightly Galadion turned his back upon Camus and stared out over the swamp before them. It truly was a foul fucking place that he didn't want to be in any longer than he truly had to be. He had listened to the words that the man had all but spat out at him before turning back around and nodded his head ever so slightly "Your right, fair is fair. My name isn't Joen Panelis, Its Galadion the King of Yladia" he stood there staring at the man for a few moments longer before he inhaled deeply "Your hiding something, and I want to know what it is. There is something off about you, something foul about your personality, as if I was staring at a plagued rat. Every instinct in my body is telling me not to trust you and I want to know why" As he stood there staring into the eyes of the man once again before narrowing his eyes "Qwelunestar Que Tavari", the words of power that fell from his mouth seemed to echo around the swamp once again as he spoke the magical invocation needed for the spell he was attempting to unleash. Just right of him a small swirling circle opened up and a large dog stepped forth from it, a nightmarish looking hound that looked like it had just stepped straight from the realms of hell, which in fact....it had as Galadion summoned forth a Hell Hound to his side. Reaching down he ran his fingers along the onyx black fur that made up the hide of the hound at his side before he pat it upon its side slightly for a moment "Meet Radste, he hasn't been fed for quite awhile and you probably looking rather tasty to him so if I was you I would start talking"
Well wasn't someone arrogant and thought highly of themselves. So maybe he shouldn't be the one thinking these things, but still. This man before him spoke highly of helping others, but to him he wanted to find out answers. He had tricked and trapped him, all for what. So he would spill his guts before they turned to stone. He could feel the illusion start to creep up his body-- though it was slow. So it wasn't going to stop growing on his body and soon his body would become some stone statue. He would die, yet it didn't exactly make him fear. Dying in a game was just that, everyone always died both in reality and in games-- especially in games. So what if he died, he would just restart and continue on his journey. Why did the guy have such a thing for him? So what if he was arrogant and a cruel person. Was this karma's way of catching up to him? Is this how his reign of terror would end. No why should he give up, there was always way out of everything. He had some luck on his side, hell it explained why he hadn't ended up dead just yet. His crimson eyes glared, but he spoke no words at that time. So he was right! The guy wasn't some uncreative person named Joen. Galadion, it wasn't much better of a name. It made him winkle his nose in distaste, well it was the guy's name not his. Then came the kicker, the guy thought his personality was foul and wanted to know why he couldn't be trusted. He had parted his lips to retort when the guy was chanting again and he had summoned a Hell Hound. His eyes glittered at seeing the pure onyx coloured fur beast in front of him. He wiggled about with his hands to try to reach out towards the beast. It was a beastie! He wanted it. He couldn't quite reach the thing and it made him pout like some child. "I told ya I have nothing to hide, Gladdie Poo." A nickname that left his lips that would surely piss the other male off, but what did he care. He hated people like this, this man was the type of person who had more or less made him the way he was now. Should he have some fun in his responses or should he crack. Like hell would he crack to this man. If he hadn't cracked from years of abuse as the player , he refused to be broken as a character in this game. "Fuck you, Gladdie Poo. I don't have anything to hide from you. I can't bloody help that you don't want to trust me. I am a simply player who just spawned a few days prior. There isn't much to me at all, it is rubbish if you think I'm some threat." He wasn't afraid to die, respawning and restarting wasn't exactly something uncommon for when he would play games. He doubted he would rage quit just from dying once, hell he would probably go out laughing like he was the Joker. Than he would come back and take revenge on this asshat. So what if he didn't have magic of any kind-- he didn't take kindly to being trapped, tricked and manipulated into being a puppet. "I'm not some doll you can enclose. As for your furry friend, maybe you should feed the puppy a bone." He had forced his arms to move not caring if the stone feeling expanded because of it and he reached to get a stick from his frozen side. "Hey doggy you wanna play fetch" he whistle slightly at the end of his words, but he didn't throw the stick. He was carefree despite his situation and almost seemed like another person when talking to the beast. "Wanna know something , it isn't really a secret. People are just assholes and bitches, animals are better" he smiled at him. So Galadion had some similarities with the guy who had taken him away from his family in his player's actual life. He wondered if this was what Rudger did for a living, tricked and tortured people. He kept the smile. "Wanna kill me, go ahead. Life is about excitement." Galadion might not realize it but this was probably the closest that Camus had ever truly talked to another person truthfully ever since he spawned.
Galadion kept his silvery eyes locked upon the other male who had been trapped inside of his illusion for a second, it would appear that that Galadion didn't have a care in the world as he knelt down and ran his fingers through the onyx black fur of the demonic dog that stood at his side. Ever since the nightmarish hound had made its appearance the scent that hung upon the air hand changed, no longer did it smell like the foul smelling swamp water and gases, now the air smelled heavily of sulfur around them. The creatures snarling could be heard upon the air as it stood there staring at the male who was frozen in place, its lips curled back revealing its dangerous looking teeth. It truly looked towards Camus like he was nothing more than a piece of meat that it would love nothing more than to sink its teeth into and make him its next meal. Turning his head Galadion looked towards his victim and narrowed his eyes, did the disrespect of this man know absolutely no bounds, just how far did he intended to push the man who had turned him into a helpless victim with no effort. Rising back to his feet Galadion allowed a small guttural growl to rip forth from his lips as he glared at the man before him, he continued to repeat over and over again that he had nothing to hide but that just didn't feel right to him. There was something about this man that just seemed wrong about him and he would get to the bottom of it, Galadion had spent a large amount of time in the Yladia region of this world, a region that was overrun with powerful enemy combatants....demons. Galadion had only been able to amass the level of strength that he had and survived this long by trusting his instincts and his gut, and his gut was telling that there was something wrong with this man. So his first thought was that he was a demon that had disguised itself as a player to try and kill him, he was sure that the demonic forces had heard of him by now and his quest to take Yladia back from them so he couldn't let his guard down around anyone. He couldn't take any chances. Just when he was about to give up on the man and allow the hell hound that he had summoned to devour him just like he had said that he would when he finally got the answer that he sought. It wasn't that there was something off or wrong about him it was that he didn't like or trust other people, he preferred interactions with animals and the creatures of the land to those with other players. This was a sentiment that he really couldn't fault the man for, but he could definitely do something about personality of his , the mans personality was so off putting that Galadion had honestly thought that the man might have been a demon instead of a player. With a wave of his hand he allowed the mana that was holding the illusion spell in place upon Camus to disperse and free the man from the spell as he stood there looking at him for a minute. "So its just that you don't like people and your personality is shit huh? Well you should probably do something about that before someone like me ends up killing you". Raising his hand he motioned to the swamp before him that was still filled to the brim with the flying alligators that the man had been wanting earlier "If you want I am still willing to help you get you one of these ugly bastards"
So either the man was bluffing or he didn't have the heart to actually kill another. No, it was because his answer seemed to have been enough to make the man happy. He could feel the weight that had been put on him leave and his knees gave way. No, he refused to kneel or anything like it in front of this man. So he forced himself to just stagger slightly instead of actually collapsing to the ground upon his knees. It might have been an illusion, but damn it was it hard after it had left him. He let out a small growl, but this time it seemed like it just in frustration than anything else. Damn this man, this goody goody person that he had happened upon. "Oh geez I wonder why I wouldn't like people" he sneered out crimson eyes blazing. He wasn't happy, he had been prepared to die and yet here was this man 'Gladdie Poo' giving him mercy. Mercy. It wasn't something that the player behind Camus was used to to say the least. He was used to shit and he had put everything into this character that would have been wrong to do in the real world. "So what if someone else tries to kill be again. Wouldn't be the first and won't be the last. If I die, then I die. I'll just come back somewhere else in the world and continue on. It isn't like I reset completely or anything" he had muttered the last bit. He had never actually died yet here, and he was still new so he wouldn't know what would happen if someone did die. He just was assuming what might happen to him. It would suck if dying meant that he lost everything and had to start again. Some things were like that. Perhaps he could ask this guy. No, he would rather not play nice with the guy. Than again trying to play nice had been the main goal of things. He could watch him, the attempt to kill him would just be water under the bridge and he would try. Though he had admitted to not liking people, well that was easy to get around too. He just had to continue to hold a fake smile, it wouldn't be hard to keep it in touch. His 'shit' personality wouldn't change, it didn't have to. He could just claim to be trying and by doing so he was allowed to watch close by. Maybe he could even use this man for his power. Yes, he was a strong one. He possessed powerful magic that would be very useful to him. He would force his feet to fully steady, as he heard the last bit of what the man had said. A sickly sweet smile went on his lips. He was willing to help him get one of the flying gators. This could be a trap to make him owe the guy, it wasn't his terms at all. Though what might happen if he told the guy no and simply turned his back on him and went to go do it himself. This game was about skill but it was also about manipulating things to one's bidding. "Say I do take you up on that, what exactly am I signing up for." He had gone to circle around the male, analyzing what might be coming out of this. Walking felt weird at first, but if he didn't walk it off it would never go away. Illusions was ugly stuff and he would make sure to pay the guy back. He just had to get the better of him. "Why should I trust you at all?" He was making sure to choose his words carefully so the guy wouldn't hopefully walk away. 'You don't need him. Life's an adventure, right', that thought didn't exactly help him. He had to take things slow if he wanted to get what he wanted in the end. Manipulating a target or situation took time. Though would he have the time? If he had Gladdie Poo help him, it would have to be on HIS terms. He wouldn't allow another to actually play him like a puppet. Though he wasn't against people helping him, he just had to be the one pulling the strings. Say he got the gator that he wanted, there was still a chance that when Gladdie Poo helped him--- he could end up dead. He had to hide the smirk from appearing on his lips. That would actually end up being perfect. No then he couldn't use the guy, so he had to stay alive for now. His eyes glanced from the man to the swamp and to the hell hound. "Say Gladdie Poo, the Hell Hound-- where did you get it?" Still he used the name of 'Gladdie Poo' he wouldn't actually call someone their name-- he just couldn't. Not here at least.
Slowly Galadion turned his back to the man and looked out over the swamp, man they truly were disgusting places with foul smelling water and moss everywhere not to mention the millions of bugs that seemed to just swarm absolutely everywhere. He would have rather been anywhere in the world besides this disgusting place but this is where the flying alligators were at and he had promised the man to help him tame one, and even if he had been ready and willing to kill the man mere seconds ago he was still a man of his word. And because of that here he was, in this insect infested hell hole attempting accomplish something that he truly ha absolutely no interest in doing, if he didn't keep his word then how could he expect others to put their trust in them and ask them to follow him after all? Turning his head back slightly he looked back at the man who just mere moments had been his enemy and possible and chuckled softly as he shook his head ever so slightly "As long as you are in this world, someone or something will always be trying to kill you, its just something that you get used to after you spend a certain amount of time in this world. Hell I have an entire country of creatures trying to kill me" with a wave of his hand he motioned to the alligator filled swamp once again "You get to close to these guys here and they will try and kill you as well, its just the way things worked here. Better get used to it". Turning his gaze back to the swamp a small sigh escaped his lips as he thought about his own words, while they had been true that didn't make them any less grim. How long could one constantly be under attack before they began to crack, it may have been the way of this world but it was still really exhausting when one stopped to think about it for a few moments. He had gotten as strong as he had because of this world, the pressure of constantly being a target for some person or creature had forced him to get stronger and stronger until he was able to fight back, and now he could do more than than, no he could be the hunter instead of the hunted for once. However he had decided to take his strength and put it towards something more constructive, a personal objective of his which allowed him to continue to get even stronger as every day passed. What was he signing up for, what did the man think he was trying to do manipulate him in some way like he had tried to do to him? Shaking his head he turned around and looked at the man and chuckled slightly "I'm not the type to underhandedly manipulate someone, I want something from you then I am going to tell you as much straight up. Just the way that I am" Another chuckle had escaped his lips when he heard the mans comment about trusting him which caused him to shake his head ever so slightly again as he smiled softly "Look man, if I had wanted to hurt you then I wouldn't have undone my spell and just let you suffocate a moment ago, but I didn't. I have enough power to kill you at any time I please but you answer was satisfactory to me so I won't, unless you do something to royally piss me off and its really as simple as that". The man would be smart to not trust everyone that he came across, not everyone in this world was as straight forward as he was after all, but it honestly seemed like there was no need to worry on that account. If anything he needed to trust a few more people and open up to them slightly but with a personality as shite as the one he had no one was going to want to trust him, hell even he didn't trust the man as far as he could spit him but yet here he was offering to lend him a hand in accomplishing his goal. Slowly Galadion turned around to face the man once again and his eyes strayed down towards the rather large and intimidating hound that was still standing still at its masters side like the loyal beast that it was. A soft smile spread across his lips as he thought about the hound for a few seconds and nodded his head, it was a magical familiar that he had summoned with his Summoning Magic Mastery so to be entirely honest he wasn't really sure where it came from but since it was one of his weaker Masterys at the moment he could really only summon lower lever creatures for right now. He did hope to one day get it strong enough so that he could potentially summon something as strong as a dragon but this was just a mere hope at this point, he wasn't even sure if something like that was even possible in this world. Despite it being a fantasy based world, in all the time that he had spent inside this world he had not seen a single dragon or any kind, not even something as small as a fire lizard. "Well you see, I honestly don't know where it comes from. I am able to summon it to my side to fight for me in battle through the use of my Summoning Magic Mastery but that is really all that I know its true origins are a mystery even to me", and that was the truth of it. Maybe this was something that he should look into at some later point in time, where did the animals that he summoned through the use of this Mastery come from. They were always tamed when he called upon them and none of them had ever tried to attack him in any way s it begged the question, was there some island or land somewhere that they were bred and tamed to be used as summoning animals like in some of the manga that you could read in the real world? But again this was a question for another time, now he had a goal to accomplish here "So, are we going to try and tame one of these flying abominations for you?"
