  1. Brian opened his bedroom's door, staring intently with a grim expression at the VR Device that was laying on his nightstand. Maybe you needed to be really dumb, selfless, naive... Or just a mere mixture of all that to ever wear that thing willing again, after learning a such atrocious news.

He reminded himself of Zin's words from a few hours ago, making his face frown in a bit of anger. "Yes, people being stuck in a game being 'alive' there is very sci-fi and real life isn't sci-fi, that's indeed true- BUT DYING BECAUSE OF A FUCKING GAME IS VERY 'SCI-FI' TOO, ISN'T IT?!" Brian slammed a fist on the wall. "Y-Yet... Look what the hell happened..." He slowly calmed himself down, after a sudden burst of anger.
'I don't care. I will work with the theory that they are somehow living inside that aberration called Terrasphere...' Brian sighed. 'No matter how hard it is, I will at least try to do something to help who is living inside there- And do my best to keep people away from getting stuck there.'

Giving a determined nod, he stepped close to his VR Device. He couldn't help but give a dark and sorrow grin at it. "I have a feeling that you will be my downfall..." The young man was normally very positive, but considering what he was planning to do... It was really hard to look at a good ending for him.

Without more waiting he wore his VR Device, that slowly separated the man from the real world...

    WELCOME BACK TO TERRASPHERE
    Logging in... Hanno Futaba

Feeling his body fill with a lively energy once again, the Faerin opened his eyes widely... He took a few deep breaths, closing and opening his hands. Brian was Hanno now.

He opened his palm menu, giving a small peek at all information he needed about the surroundings, before looking around and activating Investigation Mode. It would probably be easier to find the Felis boy with it. But in all honesty, the Faerin's biggest worry wasn't that.

'What I'm about to do is completely insane... How the hell you tell someone that they are dead?' He rubbed his hand on his forehead, completely unsure about how he would give these horrible news. 'It's not even like telling someone that they have a terminal illness or something, where you need to say that they have X hours to live.'

'It's telling someone in a game that they are dead in real life, that's completely bizarre- What if it was me?! What if I had no idea of what happened to my body and someone told me right now I'm dead in real life?!' Hanno tried to picture himself in this situation, and he didn't even know how he would react.

Giving up in trying to think on how he would give the news, the Faerin decided he should just go and tell the truth when the time came. 'After this, I will need to figure out what to do next.' He gave a nod to himself, and he began his search.

    ...

After a half-hour searching through Crystallized Zalra, the Faerin finally found the red-haired Felis @Sean Poteitoku. Hanno flinched a bit when he saw the boy, even though he believed he was still in that world... That was still very unsettling to see someone that was supposed to be dead walking around.

That made the Faerin's guts twist in sadness, seeing the lively boy that just lost his life and didn't even know about it.

Hanno timidly tried to call the boy's attention, giving a weak wave whenever the Felis noticed his presence. "Hello Sean." He greeted with a sorrowful voice.

Reminder that this thread occur some hours after the end of the battle against Titanus (World Boss 3), so keep in mind that in our characters currently timeline this probably happened many weeks, and maybe even months ago from our lastest thread.

(Putting it plainly: Witch Ops trial didn't happend yet, Hanno didn't even have a shield or even masteries upgraded yet. Sean's slash and pyromancy masteries were still on 'Trained' level... This kind of stuff)

  2. Sean had been waiting a couple hours to go back to the real world. To eat dinner with his family, to get ready for school the next day. He waited, hoping desperately to get back to his normal life.

    And so he waited.

    And waited.

    And, oh, did he wait.

Eventually, after a couple hours, he noticed the form of one of the people from before, Futaba, approach and greet him. "Hello, Futaba." Sean's face was dimly lit by a tiny fire he lit to stay warm. "If you're back, I'm assuming it's my father who answered the door. Damned Worst Possible Anime Scenario Syndrome..."

  3. The Faerin almost choked hearing the boy's conveniently yet horribly placed joke. 'Man... You have no idea of how worst this is' Hanno frowned while rubbing his temple, this was going to be harder than he thought.

"Yeah... It was your father, Phil, who answered the door." He looked at the Felis's eyes, letting out a long and nervous sigh. "Sean. Before I tell you what's going on, listen carefully what I have to say." 'You are going to need to be strong now, man. I really hope yo

"You are going to need to trust my words, because what I will tell you is completely absurd and bizarre." Hanno tried his best to say everything without cracking his voice, though he still failed it sometimes. "I know it's hard to do that, considering I'm basically, what? A random stranger in a game for you. But you will really need to trust me."

"I can't say to you not get in panic, yell, swear at me or react harshly. But I also ask you to try to be calm... So, can you trust me?" Looking at @Sean Poteitoku, the Faerin waited for a confirmation. Though he was already determined to tell that to Sean even if he didn't trust Hanno. It was rare to the Faerin act selfish, but he just wanted to prepare himself for what was coming next.

  4. Sean had been disappointed that his mom hadn't answered the door. Maybe his sister was complaining with her again? He scowled at the comment about his father. Not because Sean hated him, but because he just wouldn't let them through. "I'm listening."

Sean listened to Futaba's words, concerned about the fact that it will come off as complete nonsense. I've heard and seen weirder, believe me. He shook his head. "In my household, nothing is nonsense. Believe me." He prepared himself for what was to come.

Futaba asked Sean if he could trust him. Sean quickly nodded. "Of course I trust you. You agreed to go all the way to my house to get me out of here." He sighed. "Okay, break it to me. Did something horrible happen to me or something?"

  5. 'Okay. Tell him what happened now. Tell him everything.' Hanno stared at @Sean Poteitoku, taking a deep and long breath. 'He pretty much already suspect something very bad happened- Actually, this guy look way more calm then he should be, I'm not sure if this make things worse or better.'

Nodding to himself, Hanno started. "Sean, when we got to your house your father answered the door. But something really, really fucked up was happening there. Some girl was arguing with an older woman- I'm not sure, but I think it was your sister and your mom. But it wasn't a normal arguing man, it was almost a fight-"

"-They were arguing about you, and when they stopped yelling at each other they just started crying, man. Then your father looked back at us and asked what we wanted, so we just decided to keep going with our plan." A sorrowful sigh escaped from the Faerin's lips.

"We explained we were club members from your school, that you were your friend and stuff- And Raid asked if you were playing one of those games because you weren't responding our calls or something... And then..." His teeth clenched lightly, with a lump almost forming in his throat, trying to make he stop talking...

"...Then he desperately asked if we knew anything about you, about the game he was playing, if we talked to you last night- anything... He began crying too, and then he gave the horrible news..." Hanno's lips trembled in sadness, deeply wishing that what he was about to say was just a huge lie. "That you were found dead, Sean. They found your dead body in your bedroom, along with your VR Device-"

Not waiting for the boy's reaction, the Faerin kept explaining. "-He told that the doctors said that you died of natural causes, but he couldn't believe that you died so peacefully... We didn't get to tell him about what happened here though. It's impossible that this is all a coincidence, otherwise you wouldn't be here right now-" He took a deep breath again, holding back his tears.

"I-I'm sorry Sean, I'm so sorry."

  6. Sean wasn't expecting to be told he was now dead. His head suddenly felt light, as if he was about to pass out. He stumbled back a bit, but caught himself. "No, there's no way I can be dead. Science wouldn't allow it." He started drawing air diagrams. "See, being alive means your brain is functioning. This game relies on your brain, FUNCTIONING, being connected to the controller to put you into the game." He made a connection movement. "If the brain stops working, then the game would automatically disconnect you due to no connection to the brain, like removing the headset..." He laughed. "Therefore, there's no way I can be dead! What a cool prank this'll be on my parents to think my room is haunted!"

  7. Still trying to hold back the tears, Hanno listened to @Sean Poteitoku. Obviously the boy was shocked at first, but then he began giving a very logical explanation about how it wouldn't be possible and everything.

Yes, it was very logical. Except what happened to him DIDN'T APPLY TO COMMON LOGIC AT ALL-

The Faerin flinched, stumbling toward the Felis boy and holding him by the shoulders. "I KNOW IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE, I KNOW-" He gasped a bit, now tears rolling down his cheeks... Taking a small sigh to calm down his voice. "I'm sorry... I know it is completely weird, I didn't believe when your father said that you were dead. But you are, I'm sorry-"

"I really don't know how you are here... I don't know if your memories were transfered to this fucking game, I don't know if this goddamn game downloaded your brain- Heck, I don't even know if this is a supernatural phenomenon and your soul was dragged to this world and now you are stuck here- I really. Don't. Know." He said with a trembling voice.

"B-But the truth is: Your real life body is dead, but somehow you are still living in this game." Hanno sighed, slowly calming down... Opening his eyes with a frown, he needed to know what made that happend- What caused Sean to die and get stuck in this hell hole.

"H-How... How you died to this happend? How many times? Who killed you? Aside from Titanus, of course."

  8. Sean suddenly started to doubt his own logic. This was a game that could literally transfer your brain to it, after all. Sean suddenly started to burst into tears. He fell to his knees. "I can't be dead... I have friends... They'll be worried..." He cupped his face in his hands for a bit.

After a small bit, he rose to his feet once again, his face soaked. "I guess this is my life now... Isn't it?" Despite his face covered in tears, he got a smirk. "I can do a lot more in here, so I'll just have to make the most of my new life." He laughed. "I won't die from something like being killed!" He suddenly noticed the question asked. "What killed me...? I died three times. Two to Titanius, and one to a figure with a skull helmet and lance." He wiped away the last of the tears. "Say, would there be a way to create a new body for me?"

  9. When the Felis boy had his breakdown, hearing his lamentations about his friends... Hanno's face turned into a grim sorrowness- "D-Damn it..." He looked away from @Sean Poteitoku ... But looked back almost instantly, he shouldn't be looking away from him now.

Hanno stayed there, waiting. Looking up at the boy when he suddenly stood up, now much more determined to the surprise of Hanno. The Faerin expression's softened, and he chuckled weakly hearing the silly phrase of the boy... 'This guy... He's tough.'

He listened carefully at Sean's explanation about his deaths- Titanus shouldn't be the reason for that, maybe... After all, according to Bradwynne there were a few people that had their UI locked before Sean, and considering Titanus's battle happened a few hours ago, this didn't make sense... And this skull skeleton thingy... 'Eh, this totally isn't what could've caused it.'

So there was only two possibilities: Either this was something completely random that happened when you died... Or the third death simply caused the UI to get locked- Whatever that was true, Hanno knew one thing - Dying was out of question.

"Thanks for telling me that..." He gave a weak smile, and walked to the boy, giving him an unsure expression. "I'm not sure if we can create a body to you... But I will research for that. If I ever find something, I will tell you." Hanno nodded. "Also, if you ever need help to find something out from... You know, real life stuff. Feel free to ask me, I will do whatever that is within my reach."

The Faerin looked down, and then looked back at the Felis. "You will make the most of your life... And I will try to make this world a better place to you and anyone that have their UI locked live..." He clenched his fist in a determined way.

"Sean, let's do our best to protect people from getting locked here- We can't let people die and lose their lives because of this game... The way you fought Titanus, you were brave- I know you can use this courage you have to save many lives... Actually, your sacrifice wasn't in vain." Hanno nodded.

"You fighting against that aberration earlier, saved lives of many players and NPCs- You probably saved many players from getting their UI locked and losing their lives outside of this game..." He gave a small smile. "You are a Hero."

  10. The sudden turn of events had made Sean more determined than ever. He was given a new start. He was allowed to keep his skills in return for going to a fantasy world. He will never see his friends and family as they are again. He will hope they play the game... He must keep in touch. He nodded to Futaba. "Thank you for your support."

Sean looked around the Zalra, impatient. He wanted to find out why the game literally killed him. He slowly nodded. "Listen. I am going to unravel all the mysteries of this world. I will figure out all events that will happen and change history to my liking. I will find and take over the overseer. I will beat God at his own game." His eyes seem to light on fire. "For I am Sean, the greatest mind in all the land, I cannot fail-" His speech was suddenly interrupted by a random crystal flying into his head, knocking him down. "I'm fine!" He got up.

Sean listened to the last parts of Futaba's speech. Sean had saved many lives. He had become the hero he'd always wanted to be. He now had to rise to the occasion and act like it. "It seems I have become a hero. Now, I must prove my worth. My pal, Futaba... Would you mind being my partner in heroic justice, to protect all the people of the land?" Sean held out his left hand, offering a wide smile.

  11. Carefully listening to the Felis boy reaction, Hanno nodded. 'Find out what's up with this world is indeed one of our worries right now, hell knows what the fuck is crawling in this game...' He frowned, reminding himself of the Gargantuan Gaze. No matter how realistic this game was, something being able to stare deep into your soul wasn't something that a virtual reality should be able to simulate.

Giving a weak, but much more determined grin, the Faerin raised his eyebrow staring at the boy. "Beating a God?" He chuckled. "You are sure pumped up, but go for it-" Suddenly a crystal striked the Felis's head, knocking him down. Hanno stared confused at his surroundings- Crystallized Zalra was sure something...

He looked down at the boy, that apparently was fine. "I think you've already proved it. But there's nothing wrong at proving it even more, right?" Hanno smiled, stretching out his hand for a handshake. "Yes. I've decided that I won't abandon this world just because my life would be in danger- We have smiles to protect, Sean."

This guy could be careless, childish or even very silly at sometimes- But someone with that heroic spirit have a integrity that you can't just ignore. Beating Gods? Demons? They already did a few hours ago, Titanus was basically a God, wasn't it?

'This isn't just a game.' He looked at @Sean Poteitoku's eyes that were burning with determination. 'Let's strike the demons of this world down.'

With those words, a burning determination ignited inside both... Peharps it was their Heroic Desire.
