"Ha..."
The sound of flesh being pierced. Cain could feel the pain. His heart beat fast. Very fast. He could clearly see how fast his heart was beating!
"Ha...HAHAHAHA!"
Anath was still here.
Standing on a single leg, most of her torso missing, half her face gone, her arm piercing right through the Flagbearer of Miracles, her hand holding Cain's heart like a trophy up into his face.
Anath decleared her presence.
"I REJECT THIS REALITY! THIS OUTCOME! GLUTTONY! DO IT!"
And with these words, the oh-so harmless Gluttony that the party ignored for their own convenience sprung into action. She could eat reality itself. So a bit of conceptual anime shenanigans should be totally doable too. Right?
Something like chewing on the Seal that separated Anath from her true form, or power.
Promptly opening her mouth, Gluttony aimed her next attack towards Anath and Cain. The moment her mouth closed, her teeth met, everything started to crumble.
Reality shattered.
Laws started to bend.
Their visions started to distort.
Cracks appeared on the very fabric of existence.
The shattering of a mirror.
Shards in the shape of Applesun.
The second coming of the Apocalypse.
No longer did the group find themselves amidst the same ruins.
A black Sun. A burning landscape. A town in ruins. Vague shades, resembling starved down humans, peeked from their crooks and crannies with slight curiosity. Yet, their eyes had long lost the light of hope.
Anath herself. Itself. Had taken on a new form. A form beyond human description. It resembled everyone and everything one may have ever seen or known, and yet nothing familiar at all. It was pure instinct telling those present that this was indeed, Anath.
It was still behind Cain, who now had a small black hole in place of an actual wound, yet wasn't. The Envoy of Chaos was everywhere, yet nowhere. Everything, yet nothing.
"Welcome ...."
Anath's voice resounded and, much like anything else, resembled people that they could recall yet so otherworldly, too.
Another crack.
Another shard.
Another splinter.
"Urgh... AAAAAHHHH...."
Anath was in pain.
This was not meant to be.
Reality rejected the Envoy of Chaos.
"NNOOOOOO.... you... STAY HERE!"
They could feel it. Something weighing down on them. Something draining their very soul. Something that amplified their deepest feelings of fear.
Something was coming.
But not all was lost. They had to keep struggling. To keep fighting. For the laws of reality itself were on their side. Not all was lost, for both Comet and Ezra were on their side once more, too. Much like Cain, they too had these holes, albeit much bigger.
In this realm, where their masteries meant nothing. Would they ultimately fall or struggle for a brighter future?
