Private - Trouble, Treasure and Teamwork

  1. Comet decided - quite differently from when she was more of a newbie to the game - that attire did not trump comfort whatsoever. She had to traverse foreign lands, and would rather be prepared for the cold. Her eyes weren't ill-prepared but heart certainly was. The constant beat felt too strong, as if the organ was ready to burst from confinement. At least, she knew, a knowledge remained in the back of her head about the Hylands' beasts. Comet took it upon herself to memorize their looks and behavior and the amount of danger presented if she happened to encounter one. With a few helpful stories of encounters by fellow adventurers, she made it rather quickly. The destination was vague.

That, however, would not present much of a problem considering she'd dealt with the same problem many times before. No one ever knew where ruins or dungeons or treasure spots truly lay. Rumors, stories, legends; they all contributed to the amount of hints given, and accuracy of an educated guess. Being a natural explorer helped. Having the skills of a trained cartographer even better. Her mind never could forget sights. All five senses acute; especially sight and hearing due to choice of masteries. The Archer made landmarks here and there to guide her, but wonder took over. This sense of curiosity, fueling a desire to see what lay beyond supposedly magical ruins, happened to be a driving force. It went hand in hand with her persistence, and challenged a looming self-doubt.

Though Comet found herself not a fan of magic she couldn't resist discovering sights unseen or untouched treasures or mysterious creatures. Besides, the choice had been growing on her ever since the elements of dark magic touched an odd, previously unknown place within her soul. The pink-haired woman stumbled upon footprints while in Investigation Mode. Fortunately, at the perfect moment. This path happened to be one of few significant clues found throughout the journey thus far. Comet felt confident that the off-road, questionable, and mostly hidden or disturbed narrow passage would take her somewhere remarkable. To a world she could experience for herself. Where lots of treasures could be hoarded.

Perhaps sleeping in randomly scouted caves and walking endlessly until growing tired and an overwhelming excitement contributed to her desperation. A long journey called for tough times, she believed. Hastily following the footprints until they all but disappeared Comet led herself into a trap. One of magical origins that drew the young woman deeper into a pitch black opening that would close behind her. It seemed almost too small to fit into with her staggering height. As if the walls planned to consume her. Were tightening on her lungs that'd lost oxygen. A sudden breeze that caused her pink locks to dance in the air immediately removed the negative sensations. Her surroundings lit up without warning, almost blinding until the strange lights dimmed. Ahead of her lay the continuation of the path she'd followed before.

Its short distance - the end hardly visible from the other side, surprisingly - led to another person, seemingly trapped as well, who's long white hair and stature convinced Comet that another act of magic must be at hand. She stepped forward cautiously, squinting, making out the person as a woman once closer. The Archer kept a distance. Greed inside begged for the figure to be an illusion. Make believe. For if that were the truth then the ancient artifact deep within the mountain would effortlessly be her own. "Hello?" she called out softly. Once silent footsteps turned into echoes bouncing off of rigid rock walls. The atmosphere grew tense; which ultimately had Comet keeping a safe distance, and weaponry ready. "What're you here for?" a sort of hostile tone grew more prominent with the following question. Clearly, she didn't want anyone here with her. But they were both stuck. If "they" actually existed.

  2. @Comet @Nagini

    "Hmmm~ I think we're in a pinch Nagini~"

Kepler sighed a little over-dramatically with one hand on her cheek. In her other hand was a stick that she was using to stir the coals of a blue fire. Above the fire, hanging from the center of what looked like a pyramid of metal bars, was a strange contraption that looked something like an over sized rice cooker.

Cast in the strange light, Kepler's hair looked rather silver. But no, it was just a plain jane brown.

*PING!* The device gave off a chime.

"Oh~ It's done~ You're hungry right Nagini~? I can totally make more if you want seconds, okay?"

Kepler smiled while opening the top of the contraption. This contraption was...

    E.Z. Make Oven

    img (Utility, Prop)
Super-Convi Cooking Pot. Makes delicious things. Mostly Junkfood. It's apparently like some kind of Microwave.

Waving away the steam funneling out of the now opened top of the canister, Kepler handed a fork to her companion, Nagini, along with a bowl. Grabbing her own set, Kepler served herself a small dollop of Ramen and slurped up a bite.

    "Ah~ Hot~ Hot~"

Blowing out with her cheeks, Kepler began laughing.

"This is like -actually- pretty crazy good!"

Suddenly, there was a voice she didn't recognize. Raising her eyebrows, she glanced at Nagini and then moved her chin over in the direction of where they had entered about 30 minutes ago. Nodding at the elf, she called back...

"Ho there! We're just a couple of explorers in a bit of a pickle really! Actually, if you're here does that mean the door's open again? Mind stepping out into the light a bit? We mean no harm. Actually hey----Want some Ramen~?"

  3. "Of course I'm hungry. We've been walking in these stupid caves forever. Gah, I just wanted to kick something's ass and laugh as I rubbed it's face in the mud. Instead we're lost."

Nagini sighed loudly. Aggressive by nature, Nagini had wanted to come along so that way she could so something sweet, like run up a monster and stab it in the head with her poison daggers. Afterwards, she would laugh snidely as the poison coursed through it's veins and eventually brought it down. So far, this had not occurred. In fact, nothing of note had happened in this so called "adventure" at all. They had just been traveling stupid caves finding nothing, until they happened to find another person.

Nagini was weary of the woman, as she was with all people she met.

"HEY! I MIGHT MEAN THEM SOME HARM?! WHO ARE THEY?! THIS IS MY...our... RAMEN!"

Nagini looked the new person up and down. She didn't seem like an assassin. Though, really, what does an assassin look like? Typically one thinks of the whole dark cloak and maybe a mask, but wasn't it even more effective to look unassuming? Nagini looked down at her own outfit, a rather skimpy, barely there top, and tight leather pants.

Jesus, I'm so hot. Good lord, I'm like rockstar sexy...

Her outfit was complimented with a cloak designed with a feather-ish, raven motif. Nagini quickly realized that honestly, she looked much more suspicious than the newcomer in her "sexy fantasy assassin" get up. She blushed a little and pulled her cloak a bit closer around herself.

"Well, maybe they're okay. But this is my seat and I'm not scooting over!"

Nagini hissed and scowled as she spoke. The raven haired woman was new to the game and not very trusting of others. She herself was a self-made assassin, who took great pride in the poisons she concocted, and if she was assassin, she was sure others would be too, which meant other's weren't to be trusted blindly.

"Oh, you said you could make seconds. Well, maybe she can have a little then."

Nagini turned to the newcomer and pointed.

"BUT JUST A LITTLE! THE REST IS OURS, GOT IT?! YOU HAVEN'T PROVEN YOURSELF WORTHY OF RAMEN YET, SO THIS IS JUST A HANDOUT! BE THANKFUL WE FELT PITY!"

Nagini retrained her scowl some more as she slurped some noodles out of her bowl.

  4. "I don't..." she stared at the bowls full of noodles and scrunched her nose up in disgust. "Uh," Comet shrugged instead of going into detail regarding why exactly she refused to eat, or why she didn't like food at all. Even in-game swallowing proved difficult for the most part. At least her character wouldn't gain anything. "I'm alright. I totally just had a bunch of ramen myself, yeah." she felt the excuse was pretty good, despite being noticeably awkward and rushed, and that the two wary adventurers would allow her to join their group.

"Beat things up? Well, you might not have much luck here actually. I heard any monsters around here are going to be elementals. And they would only come out if you found where they were. Which definitely isn't in these caves. It must be like a maze traveling through them, but I'm a cartographer if you guys want to try again. Basically this place is more... magic, traps, and ancient stuff to discover rather than a boss you have to defeat guarding some ultimate artifact at the end of the journey,"
the pink-haired woman shuffled beside the other two, but decided it'd be best not to sit down. Not to let her guard down so quickly even if their seemingly naive and childish natures stuck out. Especially since appearances were quite deceiving in the moment.

"Don't expect what you see to be normal. Unfortunately that's all I know. I couldn't get much out of people. Got here by accident, really. But I'm glad there are others to help me. A Dwarven observatory isn't something I wanted to miss out on or test out alone. We should head out soon."
emerald eyes remained on the two female players before her, but wondered to the magical barrier as well. Worries and suspicion and wonder all grew together at once. A desire to seek what others hadn't ever seen before and could only speak about motivated the pink-haired woman to push further. The campers wouldn't stop her, but rather would provide extra protection along the way if they truly were up for a challenge. If not a bit of taunting would easily do the trick.
