    The dragging of wheels was constant and harsh as they blew past the cops and over the uniform pavement. Exhiliration flooded his veins. They were free. They were free. Haru himself saw those damn cops stop at the treeline, giving up on the chase.

    The car billowed through nature. Yukisa himself seemed to still try to drag this drive on as long as he could in his exhilaration and nobody was going to try and stop him. The passing scenery was too nice to look away from, anyway. The leaves lulled and swayed, and wind blew over his face.

    It reminded him of home. Not the one he had been sitting in for the last five years- his real home. The one that had been taken from him along with the rest of his life.
    He felt weary. Haru would say that the exhaustion was sudden had he not known it was long coming from his UI and even simply thinking about what he's done over the course of today.

    "Hey, guys... I need a bit of a rest. I hope you don't mind if I..."
    The white magician was out like a light before the car had even stopped. The sleep was dreamless and wonderful.

    For a good twenty to thirty minutes, the quartet that remained of the sky whale expedition party enjoyed their respite. @Yukisa , having managed to not crack his neck after falling off from a tree, enjoyed the sensation of no longer being on the very verge of death. @Seigi , despite missing ten teeth, one ear, one eye, and various other bloody things, seemed largely unbothered about all the gore that caked her body as she did some Captainly things. @Haru , after a long, long day carrying his friends on his spiritual back, kicked back and enjoyed a short rest even as his stomach gurgled ominously. And @Corvella , reckless and restless in spite of her own wounds, went out for a stroll nearby, bloodshot eyes seeking violence to beat back boredom.

    But she found nothing to sate her battle lust as she stepped around the perimeter. Shadows flitted in the corner of her eyes, the watchers of the forest amassing within the darkness of the canopy. Dark, viscous fluids seeped at a snail’s pace from the many engraved cairns that dotted their surroundings. The air was noticeably cooler despite the spring greenery, while strange tracks, days, weeks, months old, could be seen shifting away from those stony guideposts. And yet, in the eyes of the rage infused Corvella, all those details were naught but droplets of rain, innumerable and meaningless.

    She could not read the storm, and even if she did, could not eat or beat it.

    And so, her small stroll ended at that, the Titanic Empress returning to where her partners were. A body could only remain enraged for so long, and even she was feeling the sensation of fatigue now, after running for so long on pure adrenaline. Her legs were leaden. Her arms exhausted. The burden of the great steel plate was beginning to become too much to bear, even as her heart continued to beat against her chest over and over and over again.

    She had passed the Second Wind a long, long time ago.

    It was in that heightened state of clarity, however, that she, alongside Seigi, were the first to sense the incoming threat. Before them, like blinking lights, red eyes opened up, a clear predatoral intent displayed. Haru was roused from his sleep, his pelvic muscles clamping down hard even as his bladder raged for release. Yukisa was shoved into the driver’s seat once more, strapped down. It was a fun break, but they had given time for the residents of this abnormal forest to gather as well.

    The ignition was turned, and the hijacked vehicle sputtered, as if in pain, the engine wailing. Its driver could sense it, how dangerously close their car was to malfunctioning. The key was turned again, more magical fumes bursting out, still unsuccessful, a firecracker pop before the rotors and gears grinded to a halt once more.

    Sensing an opportunity, the horde of predators lunged out at once, rapidly gaining ground through the clearing. And what a menagerie it was.

    Seigi may have been renowned as a hero, and Corvella may be the most experienced adventurer out of all of them, but neither had witnessed the sorts of monstrosities that emerged. As if stitched together or fused by some insane god, each creature made no sense at all. One had the head of a goblin, mounted on a serpentine body as its featherless wings dragged it forward. Another opened up its mouth to scream, only for its tongue to reveal that its true head rested within its uvula. Yet a third was a seven limbed mess, child-like hands slapping the ground to make it roll.

    It wasn’t just frightening. It was repulsive. A box of horrors that not even the police automatons would want to stand up against. A horrid horde, united solely to slay those that invaded this ‘consecrated’ land.

    The key turned the third time, the engine finally roaring to life as magical energy flooded the dozen tubes jutting out from it.

    But the horde was upon them now, defects of Creation that hungered after perfected, natural flesh.

    Raise your steel, steady your hearts, resolve your soul, for the barbarians were approaching and you must, must, must...

    Cycle 12: Tempest

    <<Hijacked Police Vehicle>>
    50/200
    Progress: 0/200

    Events:
    @Haru is afflicted with the Dumbasses Drank Laxatives status effect. Their stomachs rumble and it hurts pretty badly, and they really, really, really, really feel a need to spend a good thirty minutes pissing out brown water.

    @Corvella is afflicted with the Drug Addict status effect. She longs for the deliciously powdery taste that comes out of that white and blue fruit. Oh, that was truly an exquisite, delectable aftertaste to accompany a good day of BERSERKing.

    @Corvella is afflicted with the Berserk status effect. She cannot communicate and is extremely aggressive in this state. All physical actions performed under this state of mind gets a +25 bonus modifier.

    Actions

    As always, there are special actions one can take, depending on whether or not the situation demands it, or whether or not they have an Awakened mastery.

    Strenuous Effort [Everyone] By permanently sacrificing HP (reduce both your current HP value and your maximum HP value), you can gain a bonus modifier to your roll equal to the amount of HP spent, up to a maximum of 50. This modifier can not be applied to Support actions.

    Hold Them Off [Corvella and Seigi Only] Make the sacrifice. Do what is right. Hold off the hordes and send your comrades off, so that they may live and escape even if you may die. Stand your ground and fight off the myriad of monsters, exchanging your life for 200 Progress.

    Drive [Haru, Seigi and Yukisa Only] Take the wheel and make the magitech carriage go VROOM as you drift around like a badass maniac, dodging obstacles and making tight turns in order to evade and escape the damned cops. Roll a d100 + 5 per tier of Riding and add the value to Progress.

    Barricade [Corvella and Seigi Only] Hold up your giant sheet of two inch thick metal and continue to shield everyone from unknown threats. Roll a d100 + 5 per tier of Shield to see how much you can protect your nakama. If you roll a total score that's less than 70, the shield is dropped on the following cycle.

    Investigate EN Cost 10. Activate Investigation mode and scan your surroundings for details. Roll a d100 and state what you are looking for. Depending on the result, you may receive a DM.

    Scout Separate from the group and go off in a direction of your choice. In the next cycle, you will be considered isolated from the others.

    Patch Up EN cost 15. Perform a Heal action at half effectiveness, with any mastery modifiers that may apply. If you are Haru or Ivan, the Heal action's effectiveness is not halved.

    Shout Scream at the top of your lungs to draw the attention of any resident that may exist in this cityscape. Roll a d100 + 5 per tier of Heroic Might or Aeromancy. Depending on the result, you may have an impact on the next cycle.

    Heroic Aura
    Stalwart Passive. No matter what maledictions are poured upon you, a hero will not falter. Excluding Beginner, each tier of Heroic Aura grants you a stack of Stalwart at the beginning of combat. Each stack automatically dispels a magical debuff, before being consumed.

    Rouse Free action, costing 10 EN. Establish your Heroic Aura, the radiant banner that empowers all your allies. Grant either a +10 damage buff that stacks over other buffs, a +10 HP Shield, or immunity to a single debuff for the next cycle to everyone in your party.

    Warcry Action, costing 20 EN. Can only be used once every three cycles. Unleash a devastating roar, stunning all minions on the battlefield and performing a Disruptive Attack upon all those in the same Zone as you. Use Heroic Might as the modifier. If the resulting score is high enough, enemies in the same Zone will be knocked back one space as well.

    Limit Break[Seigi Only] ???

    Chronomancy
    Time Accel Passive. Human might may be limited to one’s muscles, but with the ability to manipulate time, even physical constraints can be overridden. Excluding Beginner, each tier of Chronomancy grants you a stack of Accel at the beginning of combat. Each stack can be consumed during your turn to double the movement speed of either yourself, or your ally. If you choose to, you can consume 3 stacks of Accel instead in order to grant one extra action to yourself or your ally.

    Rewind Action, costing 20 EN and 20 max EN. Grasp the fabric of time and pull it back, returning yourself to your original physical state. Set your HP, status, and physical location to what it was in the start of the previous cycle, essentially negating everything that has occurred to your character in the current cycle. This ability can be applied to objects as well.

    Terminate Action, costing 30 EN and 30 max EN. Can only be used once every three cycles. Dive into the depths of your time manipulation abilities, locking an enemy or ally in time. If this is used on an ally, they are immune to all enemy attacks for the next round. If this is used on an enemy, they are unable to act during the next cycle, and are immune to all damage from players. If this is used on an unwilling target, a d100, modified by Chronomancy, must be rolled to clear a hidden DC.

    Corvella never did find anything important to punch around the forest. She honestly expected a big bad since it's kinda the right time but whatever floats your whale. The sky's getting dark, and they haven't even know yet what this whale is, or why real world environment and setting is here. Coming back to join the others, it was at that moment that Corvella suddenly sensed something that wasn't there before.

    In their view were the the horde of unspokable horror, such abominations that flinched even the mightiest berserker. Without waiting any longer, the crew scrambled for their car, trying to get out from there as fast as possible. As attempt to start the car failed and failed, Corvella looked back and forth at the oncoming horde and back at the car. If she could shout the car to start, she would. Then at the crucial moment, the car started, but the enemies are now too close to them. Raising the metal plate, she would try to defend the car and swat oncoming creatures while the driver attempt to pick up speed.

    Shield of 10

    Haru was rudely and untimedly awoken from his lovely nap by the sound of stampeding abominations. And what abominations they were- twisted and stitched from the toyhouse of pandemonium itself. It made his knees weak, his arms shaky, and his stomach rumbled in fear and revulsion.

    Wait, no, it was already rumbling. Holy hell, what was in that drink he had? "Ack. I think I may have some sort of poisoning..." Haru grumbles aloud his complaints. He hardly cares about that right now, though. If push came to an accident he'd just laugh it off anyway after cleaning himself off.

    Far more important was that they were in danger right now. Haru turns the ignition of the car he woke up in only to find that it wasn't starting up. The bald, unfortunate man groans in annoyance before notifying his friends of the situation.

    "Just hang on real quick, guys. The car's stalled. I just need to--"
    Get himself back in to the machine. Spirit Magic was not something that interacted with a machine every day. On the other hand, he had already made this thing into a vessel for power with his last stunt. Once, he was the car. Even now he knew every nook and cranny of it like it was his own body.

    Being a steel husk, it was notably difficult to get it to do anything at all, not to mention getting it to fix itself. It took a hard minute before gears that previously locked themselves in place for driver safety began to turn, and another still to get them to move how he wanted them to.

    It even took all the time for everyone to get back into the car and the monsters to give chase at their heels for Haru to put this car how he wanted it. "Hold on, everyone," he warns the party, "We're going from zero to fast!"
    Then he pushed the pedal, and the drive for their lives began anew. Silver sparks glittered in the dust of their wake.

    Not soon after Seigi stopped talking about something being inside the forest, the something decided to come out.

    Grotesque horrors. Being from a horror movie. Monstrosities that one made shiver in fear just looking at them. And Seigi wasn't any different. Her first thought was that of disgust. Ewh. Look at them. Hor horrible! Just... die?

    They had to get away! Quick. Before the army of deformed monstrosities could come any closer. Yet...

    Such poor children...

    It wasn't exactly pity that Seigi felt, but something inside her urged her on. Don't judge a book by its cover. They looked like defects. Everybody deserved a second chance. Heroism wasn't about the destruction of everything in one's path.

    And thus, still sitting on the car, Seigi yelled out. "STOOOOOOOOOP!" To the defects crawling closer and closer. To an extent, Seigi didn't look that different from them. Ear, teeth, eye and who knows what else missing, the girl could have counted as a horrific being herself right now. Yet, did any of her comrades go 'ewh'? Then again she didn't have 6 stitched together human legs walking like a spider.

    "We're coming in peace! Please! Nobody has to get hurt!" Seigi tried to communicate with them! Not a sexy waifu. Not a dude in an Adonis body. Not a misunderstood creature of darkness that somehow looked cute regardless. The martial artist tried to appease the very definition of horrific itself.

    "JUST LET US GOOO! Pretty please?" She cried out. The closer they got, the harder it was even for Seigi to do just that. Her Heroic Aura burned bright, easing her urge to simply gag just looking at them. Actually.

    Something made click.

    "SERIOUSLY! What. The. DUCK. You think you can come at us like some Nightmare Parade and maybe hope to make us scream and cry for mommy? WELL. TOO BAD IT AIN'T GONNA WORK. WE'RE HEROIC HEROES AND NOT SCAREDY SCARED KITTENS. Not to mention..." Seigi ripped open her bandaged arm(s), that she had conveniently bandaged up in the last post but never mentioned it, once again. Revealing the ugly darkness below. Käse Käse, motherducker!

    "WE'RE NOT THAT DIFFERENT ANYWAY!"

    Hmpf. Stupid horror movie monsters. Thinking they're all tough and shit, huuuh?

    As was typical of TerraSphere, the party wasn’t given any real time to rest. Sure, perhaps for a while everything seemed tranquil, and the four of them took advantage of the momentary peace to rest themselves. However, Yukisa, at least, couldn’t help but be on edge the entire time they sat in the open field.

    “Don’t you guys feel like… there’s something watching us?” he muttered to no one in particular, glancing around.

    If they were to dismiss it as him being silly, he likely would have just chuckled nervously and nodded in agreement before allowing himself to relax. However, there was no response, and so he continued to wobble from side to side.

    And of course, there was something watching them.

    It happened in a flash, strange amalgamations emerging from the bushes and canopies as they stalked towards the group with a hungry look (or at least, that’s what could be made of their distorted… “faces”).

    Yukisa was frozen in fear by the sight of the things. As someone with some level of OCD, seeing them triggered something within him he never thought would be disturbed. Luckily, though, Haru was quick enough to react and put him back where he belonged: the driver’s seat.

    Even as he was strapped down, Yuki still sat there paralyzed. Unlike him, Haru was still at the pique of his instincts, igniting the engine to the best of his abilities.

    It took a while, the car simply refusing to start up, however when it finally roared to life, the driver was all fired up himself, pressing the gas pedal like his life depended on it… which it probably did.

    With a burst of energy, the vehicle shot forward, vrooming ahead. It was at this point that Yukisa’s brain began functioning again as the adrenaline from before reentered his system.

    Glancing towards @Haru, he noticed that already the spirit mage was straining to keep the car going… at least, that was what he assumed was putting such a sour look on Haru’s face. Concern filled him for the billionth time this thread, and he reached forth and wrapped his 8 fingers on the wheel.

    “Here, you rest for now. I’ll take it from here,” he told his driving buddy firmly. It wasn’t clear what had happened between the two drives, but this time Yukisa’s driving was mediocre at best, just barely getting them through. Maybe his beginner’s luck was running out.

    As they continued driving, Yukisa recalled a mention of some sort of blowhole in Portia’s message. Up until now, the driving had been aimless, purely for the sake of escaping, but now he decided that would be their destination.

    ‘She might be there…’ he thought to himself hopefully.

    “Guys, the message that Portia sent… she said something about a blowhole in the north. I think we should head that way,” he suggested. Whether or not they agreed to his idea, that was the direction he was driving towards.

    As bandages scattered in the wind, revealing the twisted flesh beneath, Seigi shouted out her feelings in hopes of inspiring something in the hearts of these aberrant monstrosities. Her voice, buffered by her Heroic Aura, burst out like a clarion call, bright enough that the horde stopped for a moment. Considering. Digesting. Intellectualizing.

    They were the wrong words, but they were catalysts none the less.

    “Mother?”

    “Mother, I’m scared.” “Don’t be afraid, just believe in me.” “And then there were none.” “Today’s weather forecast is sunny with a slight chance of rain.” “Shoulda aimed for the head.” “Where am I?” “With great power comes great responsibility.” “My lover shot me, bang bang.” “Don’t, don’t, stop!” “Huehuehue.” “Newton’s third law is that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.” “There’s no peace without violence, but if this keeps up, there’s only going to be pieces left.” “My memories, what are you d-” “Police have arrested another suspect in regards to the recent h…” “Free the whales! Free the whales!” “Wow…wow, this is really high up, hm?” “If every byte of data in my mainframe was inscribed with ‘hate’ it STILL wouldn’t be enough to express my loathing of your race!” “AGGGGHHHH! NONONONONO!! JUST KILL ME!” “God, please…” “Fuck, shit, I can’t!” “My legs, where are my legs?!” “The Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, deliver me from this…” “Just let me leave! I’ll never touch this again, so please?” “Why doesn’t this work?!” “C’mon c’mon c’mon!” “Ah…ahaha. Die.” “Kill.” “Die.” “Kill.” “Die.” “Kill.” “Die.” “Kill.” “Die.” “Kill.” “Die.” “Kill.” “Die.” “Kill.” “Die.” “Kill.” “Die.” “Kill.” “Die.” “Kill.” “Die.” “Kill.” “Die.”

    Different voices, tortured, confused, commercial, quotes, spilled out of the malformed mouths of these monstrosities, their red eyes flickering on and off as some abnormal condition befell them. It was as if a dozen radio channels were playing at once. The news. Television dramas. Movies. Youtube videos. Day to day interactions. Fond memories. Everything spilled out at once in an indigestible torrent of information, before it twisted into a singular, maddening echo of fear.

    A fear that triggered destruction and self-destruction, spiralling downwards as the closest of the monsters lunged out towards Seigi seeking s-

    What they sought didn’t matter, Corvella rushing in to cage in their skulls in one mighty swing of her oversized shield. Perhaps they wanted salvation. Perhaps they still lusted for flesh. But as Haru became one with the car, spurring it to life at the expense of his own bodily discipline, as Yukisa slammed the accelerator once more, shooting off through the forest, Seigi knew one thing.

    There would be no salvation once that loop of ‘kill’ and ‘die’ brought them to a frenzy that caused them to start tearing apart each other.

    ‘Such poor children…’

    The orgy of violence continued with no end, until it was finally covered by verdant, nonsensical vegetation.

    ~~~
    They drove on, puttering as Yukisa guided them forwards, towards the Blowhole of the great sky whale. Even without much of a sense of direction, it wasn’t difficult at all to imagine where it would be. After all, before the Minerva’s catastrophic crash, they had all seen it: the sword-like structure extending from the whale’s head, and the hole that expelled magical fumes.
    It was forwards. It was always and only forwards, diving straight ahead in the path lit up by the cairns until they spotted the horn.
    Another clearing, this time devoid of vegetation. From beneath, the ground squished as they stood upon it, firm, but not metallic, flesh. Ahead, a hole large enough to fit a single human at once could be found, the rusted rungs of a ladder clearly indicating that this was a ‘proper’ way of descending. Further ahead, the vibrant sunset spread itself out before them, the horizon clearly in view as powerful winds whipped at their bodies.
    This was the front of the Sky Whale.
    This was the end of their journey.
    One by one, they made their preparations, before descending into humid darkness.
    How long was it? Their boots clanked against rungs.
    How long was it? Their hands scraped against the rust.
    How long was it? Their minds were losing track of time.
    And then, they arrived, stepping into a heavy, lonely darkness, where only the deep, continuous ‘ba dump’ of the whale’s heart, somewhere within this enormous body, echoed.
    Was this it? Had they come so far just to be met with darkness and shadow?
    A beep sounded, the quartet turning towards that noise.
    There was a single line, constructed of pulsating verdant letters, hanging in the air.
Set your HP, status, and physical location to what it was in the start of the previous cycle, essentially negating everything that has occurred to your character in the current cycle. This ability can be applied to objects as well.
    Terminate Action, costing 30 EN and 30 max EN. Can only be used once every three cycles. Dive into the depths of your time manipulation abilities, locking an enemy or ally in time.     No longer in berserk mode
    They spoke. Not really, all they did was repeat quotes, lines, and news. But those are awfully familiar, because it's straight from the real world. How did they managed to learn all that?
    The more she stayed on the whale, the more things stop making sense. Without most of her mind being able to process much information, Corvella reacted and slammed the metal plate on one of the abomination leaping towards the captain. They vroomed away on the vehicle as the horde began to kill eachother. What a sight.
    At one point, the screams were fading in the distance. The berserk power finally expired, and with that comes physical strain and pain unimaginable, forcing Corvella to fall on her back on the back seat of the vehicle, with the glowing veins fading and most of her body muscle visibly atrophied quickly. All was for that incredible power.
    She was asleep for the majority of their journey towards the front of the whale, even if the travel itself wasn't that long. They arrived in the 'blowhole', which looked like an entry to the core of the whale itself. Where does it leads to, nobody knows. As they decided to descend to see what's mystery it was going to offer, the group readied themselves for whatever is waiting inside. "This is it."
    It was not surprising that only darkness waited for them, of course before a line appeared before them.
    Action.
    Corvella quickly initiated a question. "Information. What is this 'Regana-Hier'? Specify the goal and purpose."
    For the majority of their way into(?) the blow-hole, Seigi kept rather silent. The monstrosities they had met, their reactions, her mind lingered. They were awfully human. They spoke lines awfully familiar. Had a fragment of their sanity simply still be in place? Or....
    She was curious. She felt sad. She was frightened. The martial artist somehow knew that this feeling of pity was not her own feeling. There was something else. Something that had made her call out to them.
    Seigi had long gone past the point where she thought that a devil in human disguise could be reasoned with. But she never started to think that a human in monster disguise existed. Never did she care about the blood wolf she butchered or that the evil dissonance monster under the bed could be talked with.
    So why now?
    Because We are Me. Me are We.
    The Hero shook her head. Stupid headache! Whatever, it was a thing of the past. Forward. Always forward. "Geeeez, how much longer does this go on?" Seigi complained into the darkness until, finally, they reached their destination. A dead end, or?
    "Hey, I know of this!" Seigi called out, puffing out her broken chest. "It reminds me of a programming interface! Just how the researchers of my dad use at work! Urm..." God. If only she paid more attention in her private lessons. In fact, now that she thought more about this. [b]"Regana... sounds familiar... I've seen that somewhere before."[/b] Seigi shrugged before getting to work herself. "Let's hope this works!"
    And typed said a single command as she realized there actually wasn't a keyboard or something: "SU! Superuser. I want root access."
    Superuser.
    Seigi demanded root access from the system! The highest instance there was. Because, obviously, that was always the first thing someone would do! Maybe.
    Hopefully, maybe, it wouldn't require a password, and if it did, maybe 'admin' would just work!
    The abominable fiends rushed after the team of ragtag heroes, and almost got to catch up to them to do whatever purpose they wished for. Out of nowhere, though, Seigi crowd out to the amalgamation horde- and they responded with utter chaos. The beasts had turned upon themselves and all direction was lost.
    Yes, it was chaos that freed them all. Everyone was free! And everything, too. With a sigh, Haru took a trip behind the car out of view and told nobody to look while he made a practical application of naturamancy on the leaves he carried in his pocket to make himself a kilt.
    By then, a message had appeared. This was the whale..? Well, he had only one thing to request of it.
    "I'm not sure why you're here, but could you please not hurt anyone down below? Everyone's worried and we just want to make sure you're not here to cause harm."
    It wasn’t clear why this thread became the 8th (or was it 9th?) The Fast and the Furious movie, but once again the party of 4 found themselves speeding through the forest’s unpaved paths with little to no regards for the rules of the road. This time around, though, the ride was slightly more relaxed, it seemed. Well, as it relaxed as it could be after hearing the amalgamations’ desperate cries for help and witnessing them tearing into each other violently.
    Yukisa’s driving had been hurt pretty badly after that experience. The sounds and images had fairly deeply disturbed him, and it took everything in his power to try not to turn the car around and try to help those things, as disgusting as they were. But, through guts and effort, he managed to redirect his attention to their destination and carry on.
    Though the white-haired male’s sense of direction was about as good as that of a headless chicken, fortunately he had 3 others within the seats of the car, and with their powers combined, they finally arrived at the blowhole.
    One by one they climbed down the rugged ladder (which was generally a bad idea, considering when someone goes off alone it’s easier to pick them off) until all of them filled the darkened room. The room was completely dim, save for the glowing blue interface that requested they input a command.
    The others began inputting well thought-out commands, perhaps considering the fact that they may not have more than one opportunity to do so. Questions that needed answering, access to the whale’s highest level of command, and even a personal request. But Yuki was a simple man with a simple mind: if it was dark, he’d ask someone to turn on the lights. because he can’t get up and turn them on himself
    Clearing his throat, he followed the lead of the other heroes. “Could you turn on the lights, please?” he called out with as loud a voice as he could muster. At this point, his throat had already been killed thrice over, so it was rather hard to get a shout out.
    Whether that had worked or not, the boy turned to his companions (or where he presumed they were in the darkness). “That aside… is everyone doing alright? @Haru and @Seigi, you didn’t seem to be feeling so good…” he asked them with concern in his voice, for some bizarre reason his worried and fatigued mind imagining that the two were about to fade into particles. “And @Corvella, you’re… not all berserk-y anymore?”
    Absolution Beyond Cloudburst
    "SU! Superuser. I want root access."
    As Seigi spoke those words, a bright beam flashed before her, piercing into her forehead before a silver aura enveloped her entire body. A strange sense of tranquility descended upon her, and moments later, that silver aura disappeared, leaving nothing but a new message for the Sunset Sage.
    The next to step up to bat was Corvella. Despite the fatigue that clung to her body, the empress’s voice was undaunted as she stated her query, promptly a momentary pause as amethyst script scrolled through empty space, before decipherable words rearranged themselves upon the black void.
    <<Set Action to ???>>
    Following that, Haru’s orders, more kind, more hesitant, more gentle, cut through the burst of static. This time, response was immediate, instant, a line generated without a nanosecond’s delay.
    <<I will not.>>
    ...
    <<Set Action to ???>>
    Yukisa’s voice rang out last, a mundane request for illumination in the humid, dark room.
    <<Action Permitted.>>
    A gentle thrum sounded, before sparks of light ran up and down previously invisible cables, fluorescent radiance filling the room. It took a minute or two for the stinging of their eyes to cease, but once the quartet took in their surroundings, it was clear that, despite the humid temperatures, the inside of the whale was a remarkably sterile environment. Scribbles in a foreign tongue coated every inch of the white, marble-esque walls, indicating madness or genius. Occasionally, a spark of electricity would pop, indicating that this composed of the true form of the flying whale, of Regana-Hier’s computational processes, but any attempt to touch those surfaces would be blocked by an invisible wall, gently propelling invasive fingers away.
    And for all the awe inspired in them by those monuments of virtuositic ingeuinty, there was a greater object behind them, as they trailed the silvered cables that lead back, back, back to the flesh-brain of the sky whale.
    At first glance, just the sheer enormity of it was staggering, easily the size of a mansion or an estate. So much gray meat, a thin membrane surrounding the furrowed matter to prevent it from dehydrating. Up close, the quartet would easily be capable of witnessing the innumerable canals within the whale’s brain, and though it may be too revolting a sight for the squeamish, it was impressive all the same. Like seeing a cow’s lungs inflate comically. Like watching a dead frog’s legs twitch when you shocked it. Like witnessing the birth of a child as it digs its way out of a mother’s womb.
    Truly fascinating.
    But the cables did not connect to the brain of such a majestic beast.
    No, in the illumination, their eyes were guided slowly, slowly, to a very small spot upon the amygdala. Against the white, it was hard to tell at first whether or not it was a mere anomaly, but as they narrowed their eyes, as they activated Investigation mode, the truth was revealed easily enough.
    It was a child.
    A human child.
    But not just that.
    A player.
    The tag ‘HORIZON’ loomed over her white-haired head, while her eyes, glowing an unnatural red, were hauntingly vacant as dozens of cables, large, small, thin, wide, connected to her skull, her back, her arms, glowing amber as she gave the occasional twitch. A dead frog, electrocuted?
    No, she still lived.
    Even though her lower body had fused seamlessly with the brain of the great wall, even if her body had been repurposed with supple plates, she still lived. Immortal. Shackled.
    A ding sounded, as a new line of text emerged before them, the greater machinery communicating on behalf of the lesser flesh.
    <<Observation: Antibodies will arrive in 83 seconds.>>
    <<Suggestion: Intruders should leave the premises.>>
    <<Amendment: This is not a suggestion.>>
    <<Close your eyes.>>
    killmekillmekillme
    And then, the fluorescent lighting began to shift, gradients turning to the color of amethyst.
    Cycle 14: Naraka
    <<Hijacked Police Vehicle>>
    50/200
    Progress: 149/200
    Events:
    @Corvella is afflicted with the Drug Addict status effect. She longs for the deliciously powdery taste that comes out of that white and blue fruit. Oh, that was truly an exquisite, delectable aftertaste to accompany a good day of BERSERKing.
    @Corvella is afflicted with the Berserk Fatigue status effect. All physical actions performed under this state of mind gets a -25 bonus modifier.
    Important Note:
    Actions are largely irrelevant now. Treat this as a freeform interaction stage. To set the scene, everything is currently in dense shadow, except for the glowing text.
    Depending on this next round, this may be the last cycle.
    Actions
    As always, there are special actions one can take, depending on whether or not the situation demands it, or whether or not they have an Awakened mastery.
    Strenuous Effort [Everyone] By permanently sacrificing HP (reduce both your current HP value and your maximum HP value), you can gain a bonus modifier to your roll equal to the amount of HP spent, up to a maximum of 50. This modifier can not be applied to Support actions.
    Leave [Everyone] Close your eyes to the world around you, and when you open them once more, you will no longer be within Regana-Hier.
    Command [Everyone] Ask and you shall receive. Say what you wish, and whatever strange machination that controls this whale will respond in kind. Be sure to ping me when you do so, so I can react accordingly.
    Investigate EN Cost 10. Activate Investigation mode and scan your surroundings for details. Roll a d100 and state what you are looking for. Depending on the result, you may receive a DM.
    Scout Separate from the group and go off in a direction of your choice. In the next cycle, you will be considered isolated from the others.
    Patch Up EN cost 15. Perform a Heal action at half effectiveness, with any mastery modifiers that may apply. If you are Haru or Ivan, the Heal action's effectiveness is not halved.
    Shout Scream at the top of your lungs to draw the attention of any resident that may exist in this cityscape. Roll a d100 + 5 per tier of Heroic Might or Aeromancy. Depending on the result, you may have an impact on the next cycle.
    Heroic Aura
    Stalwart Passive. No matter what maledictions are poured upon you, a hero will not falter. Excluding Beginner, each tier of Heroic Aura grants you a stack of Stalwart at the beginning of combat. Each stack automatically dispels a magical debuff, before being consumed.
    Rouse Free action, costing 10 EN. Establish your Heroic Aura, the radiant banner that empowers all your allies. Grant either a +10 damage buff that stacks over other buffs, a +10 HP Shield, or immunity to a single debuff for the next cycle to everyone in your party.
    Warcry Action, costing 20 EN. Can only be used once every three cycles. Unleash a devastating roar, stunning all minions on the battlefield and performing a Disruptive Attack upon all those in the same Zone as you. Use Heroic Might as the modifier. If the resulting score is high enough, enemies in the same Zone will be knocked back one space as well.
    Limit Break[Seigi Only] ???
    Chronomancy
    Time Accel Passive. Human might may be limited to one’s muscles, but with the ability to manipulate time, even physical constraints can be overridden. Excluding Beginner, each tier of Chronomancy grants you a stack of Accel at the beginning of combat. Each stack can be consumed during your turn to double the movement speed of either yourself, or your ally. Set your HP, status, and physical location to what it was in the start of the previous cycle, essentially negating everything that has occurred to your character in the current cycle. This ability can be applied to objects as well.
    Terminate Action, costing 30 EN and 30 max EN. Can only be used once every three cycles. Dive into the depths of your time manipulation abilities, locking an enemy or ally in time. If this is used on an ally, they are immune to all enemy attacks for the next round. If this is used on an enemy, they are unable to act during the next cycle, and are immune to all damage from players. If this is used on an unwilling target, a d100, modified by Chronomancy, must be rolled to clear a hidden DC.
