Jace Smith, the real life player of the Terrasphere Yladian Sorcerer character known as Joen Panelis had spent his entire day in front of his computer his fingers flying over the keyboard. His career in the real world was that of a fantasy book author and his experiences in the world of Terrasphere Online had already helped him more than he could even express. Every time he dove into that virtual world he got a deeper and better understanding of what it would actually be like living in the kind of world he wrote about. Looking up at the time a smile spread across his face as he saved the progress on his latest book title, he didn't want to loose all that he had written after all. Exiting out of his book he rose from his computer and made his way to his bedroom before laying down and donning the headset needed to enter Terrasphere. Closing his eyes he allowed his consciousness to be whisked away to the virtual world of his dreams. Joen opened his eyes slowly blinking a few times as he readjusted to the virtual world around him, this was something that he had to do every time he entered this world but with ever dive the transition got less and less awkward. Moving his head he looked around trying to remember where he had been the last time he logged out, oh that's right he had been in one of the many forest of Astorea. A low guttural growl caused Joen to turn around slowly his eyes landing upon the large shape of a grey Dire Wolf, the beast was there not 30ft from where Joen was standing crouched down, its upper lip pulled back revealing its upper row of slightly yellowed teeth, saliva dripping from the corners of its mouth "Oh boy, here we go again" was all he could manage to say before the Dire Wolf launched itself at him.
Comet never truly needed a reason to traverse Astorea. She felt most at home among the wilderness and small villages and unexpected caves that could lead to unknown treasures. Facing more than enough obstacles around the lands made her comfortable. At ease. The game throwing adventures right into her face at the perfect time seemed common, but at least in Astorea there wasn't much information her hands hadn't retrieved or ears were deaf to. Experience aided the Huntress in tracking and stalking animals as well as knowing which villages were friendly enough to allow her to stay for free, or which required labor for hospitality. The creatures here - unless rare or some sort of monstrous entity Astorea seemed doomed to face soon enough - were both predictable and numerous, yet held enough variety of species to keep Comet entertained. The pink-haired woman enjoyed the thrill of a successful hunt only Terrasphere could bring her. She came to escape, and couldn't do such things with her body or bow and arrows in the real world as sweet, innocent Violet. Her emerald eyes, ever so attentive, picked up the dire wolf rather quickly. She'd been targeting the specific threat because of how they were so useful to those who needed materials and food and other resources the most. However this wolf had its attention diverted from her figure across a long field to another lone person. A man, who seemed extremely unprepared for the attack. Especially with only a wand noticeably equipped. The dire wolf closed whatever distance there was before between it and the Yladian. Comet raised her bow without hesitation to pierce the animal mid-air. It'd been an effortless action. Of course the corpse still hit the elven man... but he wasn't dead. Her boots scuffed against roots, dead grass, and branches scatted along the ground. With a wave of the hand she called out, "Are you okay?" voice raised with concern, but not much. She knew her job was performed and finished. When close to the Yladian she would help haul the wolf off of him, lying underneath, if needed. "It's good to have a real weapon around sometimes... Not that silly little wand." her indifference towards magic became apparent with such harsh words, but they were spoken light-heartedly as if a mixture of criticism and simple teasing. @Joen Panelis
The world around him seemed to slow down as Joen watched the larger specimen of wolf charge towards him at a full sprint, its powerful legs carrying it at a speed much quicker than he could ever hope to escape from. As the canine threw itself into the air Joen watched as a arrow flew through the air and pierced its side, and left the creature only enough time to release a single pained yelp before it died, however its death did nothing to prevent its monstrous corpse momentum and forwards trajectory towards him. The deceased creature hit him square in his chest like a mountain, its weight completely knocked all of the air from his lungs leaving him gasping for air as it pinned him to the ground. Unable to breathe, Joen laid there gasping for air but found himself incapable of getting any as the corpse of the large wolf prevented his lungs from expanding and pulling in the oxygen that he so desperately needed. His vision began to darken and he really began to panic thinking that he might suffocate to death when suddenly the corpse was shifted off of him slightly and he quickly gasped in air. Laying there for a couple of second breathing deeply so that he could regain his composure he then moved to help the stranger free him from the corpse and slid out from underneath of it before standing up and brushing himself off slightly. He lifted his head and looked at his rescuer and chuckled softly shaking his head "Thanks for the help, I would have been a goner for sure haha" he shook his head before looking around "I have got to find a better place to log out at, I came back and that Dire World took me totally by surprise." Chuckling softly Joen turned his attention back to the stranger who had helped him before sticking his hand out to shake hers "Sorry for the late introduction, the name is Joen Panelis and I plan on becoming the Sorcerer King of Terrasphere hense the silly little wand" he chuckled slightly as he threw her jab at magic back at her lightheartedly.
"Strange. You don't log out at an inn?" she questioned with quirked brows, and a curious tone. She took his hand in hers firmly. Ever the friendly and warm person to others, the polite gesture seemed personal to the pink-haired woman who could make just about anyone feel at home. And she did try by returning it as well as smiling afterwards. Her lips curled up in thought but mostly as a natural reaction. Surely she enjoyed making friends in Terrasphere for they were as real as her own in the real world. However, denying what came as natural instinct proved nearly impossible for the girl trained to act a certain way when socializing from a young age. "Galadion," the name rolled off her tongue. It felt strange. Foreign, and a bit dangerous considering his plans. Lots of players often are motivated in admirable ways yet tend to follow hasty paths, she knew, and secretly Comet hoped that his attempts wouldn't end in humiliating failure nor darkness. Though behind this sympathy she wanted to laugh at him. Their King was Astor, obviously. No other type of King, anywhere, would ever be needed. And lastly there was a bit of envy. From the beginning she had nothing strong to rely on other than wanting to escape. Some people seemed to have a carefree life. A goal, with flaw perhaps but none of their own to hinder the future's outcome. She couldn't say the same. Her own vices always harmed and always would. They were uncontrollable forces that could dominate, and so easily ruin what foundation her desires may lay upon. Jealousy wouldn't take form. For this Comet was grateful. On the outside she appeared as intrigued as she felt in the moment. Glimmering eyes, bright smile, attentive posture; the image of perfect. "That's definitely something different from what I usually hear. What makes you think you could become King? There are a lot of players much stronger and experienced. Probably with similar goals in mind. You'd better hurry, and make some allies too. No one gets anywhere without people behind them. Are there any other odd things I should know about you? Other than you choose the worst places to leave your character." though her words may have been a bit harsh, the light-heartedness in her voice completely changed what they meant. In a way Comet had scolded him for ideas deemed foolish in her eyes. In another she seemed both interested and respectful of Galadion's ways. @Galadion
