    Personality

Amber is an easy-going girl who enjoys having fun. She is prone to joking around, never being too serious and generally just having a good time. Though if asked for her opinion on something, she will give it - usually in a very blunt albeit honest fashion, which can catch people off-guard, given her usually and seemingly whimsy nature.

She can also be quite fickle and unreliable, showing great interest in something for a bit, only to forget or move on to something else entirely after a short time. It's not that she has a short attention-span or anything, she just prefers to keep herself entertained. Despite this, she can be quite charming and pleasant, easy to talk to and easy to get along with.

That being said, she is not a saint nor forigving. If betrayed, scorned, insulted or otherwise hurt, Amber is extremely vengeful and will prove extremely difficult to placate and mend your relation with. She strongly believes in the philsophy of "An Eye for an Eye" and as such should not be crossed lightly. Of course, playful joking, roasting or other similar, good-natured forms of 'insulting' isn't enough to earn her ire.

While in real life, Amber has seemingly no urge or desire for a romantic and physical relationship, Topaz is quite different. In-game, Amber plays her character to be the type to playfully grope, make dirty jokes or raunchy comments. Again however, this ties into her desire for fun and jokes, and is more done so to see the reactions and responses of other people - particularly those who are shy or reserved - rather than anything else. She also really, really likes cute and sexy things, happily fawning over them and being on the constant look-out for the next great find. Also, she has an interest in designing outfits and clothes for herself - and sometimes others - and she is very keen on looking and wearing things that are stylish and good-looking.

On that note, Amber is wlel aware that both in reality, and in-game, she is physically attractive. This may be the reason why she has no urge for others love, as she may simply believe there either isn't anyone good enough for her, or there is nobody who can appreciate her as much as she herself. She is incredibly vain at times and prone to always want to try new outfits, costumes and accessories for Topaz, which also influenced her choice of vocations during character creation.

In the end though, Amber and Topaz are funny and playful, easy to be around and generally good-natured. A bit too honest at times, a bit too flippant and a bit too silly or unserious, she isn't a bad person and someone you could enjoy just hanging out with - barring you're not a cute or sexy female, in which case you may have to endure some friendly physical harrassment.

    Positive: Charismatic, honest, humorous, stylish.
Negative: Blunt, fickle, narcissistic, perverse, silly, vindictive.

    Biography

The world is sometimes an unfair place - some are born with everything, living in excess and having no worries in the world, while others are birthed into litteral warzones where just surviving each day is as uncertain as if you'll die from any number of horrible diseases. Fortunately for her, Amber Lockwell belongs to the former rather than the latter. The sole daughter of an upper-middle class/lower-up class family, she hasn't had to worry about money, food, clothes, education or pretty much anything else for her entire life.

Her early life was fairly standard though, going through school - at a somewhat prestigeous private school, but still. She made friends and enemies like any other child, got into fights and reconciled with her parents, bought and neglected a pet which was left to the care of various neighbourhood kids who wanted to take it for walks, play with and generally care for it in Amber's place.

It wasn't until the age of 13 that Amber actually encountered anything in the way of hardship. It was the news that her mother had been diagnozed with an unpleasantly aggressive form of cancer, leaving her hospital-ridden for the remainder of her mother's life. Though she visited often, either alone or with her father, her mother still passed away shortly before Amber turned 14, causing that particular birthday to be quite sour and gloomy.

Although she eventually worked through and came to accept the loss of her mother, Amber always carried the loss around with her, even if she hid it well from those around her - both family and friends. As she graduated from high school and subsequently got a job at a gravure magazine - much to the chagrin of her father, mind you - she began to lose touch with her old acquaintances and friends, classmates and even her "besties". More and more, she began to seek ways to distract herself, usually spending long amounts of time at her computer, either on the internet or playing games.

Games eventually became an important means of escapism, as it allowed her to stop being Amber Lockwell for a while, and instead become someone or something else for a time. It was a nice break and way to forget about things for a while. Now, if you believe that her mother was the only loss or hardship she had endured, that would be incorrect - it was simply the one that weighed the heaviest and was the one most commonly remembered by the young woman.

In addition, she was also often in disagreement with her tight-wound and workaholic father, whetever it be about her future career, the family business, her seeming total lack of interest in finding a boyfriend or husband, the aging pet who was now prone to relieving itself on the carpets if not walked every four hours or the fact that his only daughter was a, as he called it, swimsuit-floozy at a magazine for dirty old men. University and higher education was also a constant, nagging chore that nipped at her sides, trying to consume her free time whenever possible.

Eventually though, the young heiress of the Lockwell family moved out of the family home and settled in a moderately luxurious condo, a fair bit away from her troubles. Having grown tired of most of her distractions at this point though, it seemed almost too good to be true when she one day got an e-mail from an old friend she hadn't seen in months. Said friend had merely sent a cryptic message, talking about some sort of game that was so real that the goverment had it full-on banned. Not one to stay up-to-date with news and the goings-on with the game industry, Amber wasn't sure if this was supposed to be a joke, conspiracy or some kind of wierd and horribly unsuccessful form of flirting.

Regardless, after having replied that she'd want to try it out - even if it was illegal - she soon received another email, though this time from someone she didn't know, nor could reply to. Included was the client for something called Terrasphere, and it would prove to perhaps be the greatest distraction of all.
