As the male heard the others words and soon saw the party was formed he'd smile. Accepting it he'd look to his name, "Okuda? Okay, calling you Kuda then. Also I'm not shield man, call me Steel." he'd say with a smile before feeling his back pet as he took the lead instead. He wasn't exactly use to the thought of leading; at least not really. Growing up Football was his thing and he merely protected their leader or viciously went after the enemy. This in itself as honestly why he chose the berserker skill. None the less as he continued on the path and didn't notice much outside of the normal, the rabbits passing and the wolves stopping he'd hunker down and grin, "I'll block and takes hits, you land the and make sure these things die before I loose too much health...sound simple enough?" he'd ask as he then nodded and charged into the wolves. His shield sliding up and under would bash one up and back his blade slicing outward against the other did minimal damage but any was better than none. Yet as he slashed away a third popped up under his gap and struck at him hard attempting to knock him over. Instead his arm shot back the shield slapping it from behind as he grabbed at it's fur; taking a knee and stabbed it a few times with his sword. The other two coming charing in he'd grunt, "A bit busy, mind helping me out." He'd say asking the male to finish off the wolf in question; whether he did or not Aaron would have to slide back and guard. The wolves focused on him. Slashing away and keeping the wolves targeted on him he'd give the other an opportunity to strike. But with each passing strike his health would drop. Eyes shifting red as he grew angry, his grunts becoming more barbaric as he snapped. His sword slashing hard and fast would strike one then the other; his speed some what increased as he move from one to the other before shield stunning the wolf; a lucky roll as he turned to the one behind him which would assult him knocking him forward; "Die you son of a bitch." he'd shout as he went into his berserk state slashing away and bashing the wolves; it wouln't be long before the state subsided and the mini bout for their combat subsided. Either he himself killing the wolves due to increased damage or his party member either way; his health was at about Seventy Five percent before he returned from his crazed state. "What...did we win?" he seemed fairly out of it and as such this made sense. He'd need to train it to better harness the rage and not black out. "Sorry about that, must have been that berserk skill, useful but a double edged sword so far; can't seem to control it, let alone remember much that happens once I enter it. So it appears we finished off the three wolves. Shall we carry on or would you prefer a brief moment of rest; I wouldn't mind either way. So tell me how did you find out about this game. I got a copy of the email from my sister who said she randomly go it. It's safe to talk about it here in game right?" he thought about it for a moment before he decided to change topics, "You are a quiet type huh? I don't mean to pry, just best to know the man guarding your back right?" he said with a goofy grin. The want to be hero was either going to drive the boy mad or make him feel relaxed enough to send a friend request. @Okuda
This world was so interesting to Isolt. Anything slightly shiny or things at the vendors would have her looking at them. It was so interesting. She wasn't a complete clueless member of the community but she was just so happy to be in the virtual world. So as she was standing around the boys she got a little distracted as Aaron went off to see about getting what he needed. She wasn't too far away from them not really anyways. She was taking a look at some of the herbs that were at a vendor. She knew what she was speced for and if she could possibly get simple ingredients then she could do a whole lot with those if the game worked even just slightly like the real world. She really wanted to see how cooking worked in this came. Crafting was her thing. Course not all games gave you the ability to do such things. She took a deep breath and then when she saw Aaron come back she walked up to him. She headed to the stall that he had indicated and then he was off doing what it was he needed to get the shield and she half got distracted with looking at some daggers and Aaron was back. Then her menu came a party and friend invite and she hit the accept button and waited to see what was going to come up next. She looked over at Kaito to see if he had remained with them while she had gone off in her own mind and had explored the market a little bit. It wasn't that she was ignoring she had one of those moments where everything just caught her eye. She was overwhelmed and the only way to actually do anything about that was to actually walk to look at something that would keep her distracted long enough to stop her from completely just logging out to calm down. She waited to see if Kaito accepted Aaron's invite. She would be following Aaron if he was fine with that since she had accepted his party request. @Aaron Steele (Sorry for the shortness)
As the small cat girl had followed and he'd lost her. He appeared to run off and get into combat with his newfound buddy; but it wasn't long until he noted that the boy disappeared from the party, either killed or simply logged off. His eyes shifting he'd sigh and note the other name in the party; had the cat girl never left. Interesting. He'd think as he finished up the combat his partner left him as he began to stumble his way towards a stump to relax, messaging his team mate he'd ask her to bring him some potions or something to heal up. Sitting there he'd sigh, he hated that the early game stages he was weak. While waiting out of combat didn't heal as quick he was healing slowly; really slow. Hoping the potions or something might help. He'd gaze up at the sky above, his attention at the clouds simply waiting. Lips curling into a smile it reminded him of what had happened just a few weeks earlier. Having gone out with his sister to grab ice cream they'd stare up at the clouds like they did as kids, sitting on the swing set just relaxing. His eyes looking beside him noting she wasn't there. "I wonder where she disappeared to?" he'd think some before writing another message to the cat girl, "Hey meet me here. Coordinates attached. Waiting for those potions healing up slowly but they'd help if not maybe we can continue on fighting things for experience or whatever. I'm bored...." as he sat there waiting for her arrival he'd try to entertain himself playing with the wooden sword, practicing his swings and stabs. Eyes shifting as he noted another approach was it, her? ---------------------------- Had it be he'd turn to see and smile. "Well hello, cat girl, what was your name again. Also, did you find the potions if not we'll need to wait a few more moments to kill time? I need to heal a bit more, so talk to me." he'd say hoping to gain her attention, "Like why did you pick the cat race, why not the midget or a human. Your not a furry are you? Not that I'm judging just that it would make sense, well that or if you were a kid. Maybe an animu fan..no, totally a closet Otaku huh. Think that's what my sister called it." he'd shrug as he folded his arms waiting for her response and for her to take the lead for their next course of action; where was that other guy he originally invited with them. @Isolt Veera
As overwhelmed as Isolt was she did notice Aaron disappear off and then she got distracted for a little bit at the daggers that were at a stall. It wasn't until she was messaged that she totally realized that one Aaron had been in danger or that he had run off to combat actually. she'd just noted his running off with another boy. She looked at the message her eyes going wide. It would take a her a little bit to find a vendor that had potions and she wound up needing to go and trade some stuff with other vendors to get the ingredients needed and then she would be out running. Funny enough she might have actually gotten a small health potion type recipe from it all but it wasn't anything that was going to help much. Maybe a few points. The equivalent to a short length pain pill. Oh well. She ran off to the coordinates he sent in the second one. She approached a few moments later and and kinda giggled when he called her cat girl. "Yea i found something though i don't think its gonna work well. its really low in potency. after all the starting place only really has things that are well considered trash." She sighed softly and then sat down waiting for him to take the potion she had gotten. "Well people have pretty much called me a cat in RL. Plus i really like cats. I'm not a furry in the case that i dress up in the fur suits and have anything to do with that but i will admit to having a cat tail and ears though they were from costumes. I was a cheshire cat one year which i have a pair of blue and black cat hears and a blue and black cat tail and then i have a set of black cat ears and a black tail. I tend when i'm sleepy to answer people in mews instead of words. so i guess that might be why i choose the felis. felt like being a neko for once." she shrugged a bit. "Does your avatar resemble you in real life?" She's question him in return. @Aaron Steele
For Alia his words were really all she needed to hear. She wanted to do her own thing but felt nearly obligated to do all the things that her parents wanted her to do. They wanted her to be smart they wanted her to marry rich but all she really wanted was to continue her sword fighting arts and to teach. She liked helping those younger than herself and those her own age. She didn't like all the lime light. She wanted to raise her children out of that. She wanted to be known for her kindness and her swordmanship skills. She wanted to write a book about that to help others. To let girls know that they could do what the boys could do too. Thankfully her parents had never prescribed strictly to the gender roles and did not have her doing all the domestic things like others did but at least allowed her to do swordmanship studies and the likes. When he was done a soft smile came to her face. "I'm sure my father has suitors he'd like me to marry and my mother too but a least they have not arranged anything. And thanks that actually makes me feel better." She was not upset at her parents they just wanted her to have everything in the world she just wanted simple things though. Alia knew that at some point she would find the courage she was lacking to stand up to her parents and let them know. She had raised her younger siblings mostly. And so where they were concerned where the only times that she actually stood up against her parents but then she was always the one to get into trouble for it. She shook that off and her smile grew bigger as he started talking about studying fencing in theory and bushido and the way of the warrior. "I'm even read the Art of war as well as studied bushido and read many of the other books that have come out on the art of sword weilding and the likes. its a fun study. though i'm not a complete martial artist. I have gone to martial arts expos and weapons expos. Swords and war strategy fascinate me. Hence the reason for picking up engineering. tinkering with things and being able to figure out how to fortify a place seemed like the logical place to go for me. So yes you make and i fix." She giggled a little bit at it all. He was being playful and she actually relaxed a little more. They were on the same page and since they were on the same page and same wavelength it only felt proper. As they were walking in silence she was snapped out of it by players running amok around her and a few bumping into her which actually caused her to nearly lose her balance at least once. She didn't say anything merely dodged a few to the side and quickly caught back up with Seto and really she wanted to move quicker. "Tell me about it." Once they were finally out though she breathed a sigh of reliefe. Okay not this was good she could deal with this and so they walked. Miles they had walked and it wasn't until Seto said something about his feet hurting and resting that she even realized her feet hurt alot as well. She followed him to the place he had pointed out. She smiled at the fact that there was a small stream. She sat down next to him and took off her own shoes. "Totally didn't realize how much my feet actually hurt. This place is peaceful." She leaned so that she was laying down next to him. She looked up at the sky. "i don't think i'll ever stop being amazed at how designers work their magic. i mean looking up at the sky the feel of the grass. they got it just right." She was amazed by this but it was a subdued amazement. What usual serious people did with it. She took in a deep breath smelling the area around them. She wondered how they had gotten so close to the real world. @Seto Kurama
The faint smell of the forest tickled her nostrils, and her emerald eyes shot open in surprise as something... leaf-like brushed against the sensitive area where her tail was. It was impossible to not be aware that she had extra appendages, and the ears upon the top of her head were twitching and angling towards all of the delicious sounds that were around her. The faint gurgle of a river behind her, the feeling of the dirt splayed between her toes and fingers, seeing the rough bark of a tree in front of her, tasting the earthy soil on her mouth... Rye jerked upwards, her emerald eyes widening further as she took in the green trees around her and impossibly blue sky. Panting slightly, she inhaled deeply and let a faint smile drift across her face. Smelling the outdoors was always one of her favorite pastimes. However, she needed to find people soon. Her ears twitched, their hypersensitivity, picking up the noises around her. However, she let out a sound that a terrified cat would give when she heard a positively bestial snarl of rage behind her. And immediately, Rye shot off, scrambling up the bark of a tree and instinctively aiming towards the highest part of the tree. Out of the corner of her right eye, the wolf that settled beneath her tree glared up at her. Seemed like it would wait, yeah? Rye let out a soft keen of irritation, her tail lashing behind her in agitation.
He looked at the sky as the sun began to go down as the world readied itself for the night, Seto continued his relaxation against the stump with Alia laying next to him. It was nice to be with someone that understood him although he wished he knew this when he was Alia's age he still wouldn't have changed anything from his past, feeling things always happens for a reason whether for good or bad. His head felt more and more like a scrambled egg the more he spoke to Alia, the more they spoke, the scarier it got how similar they were in morals and interests. It puzzled him greatly, he met plenty of people in real life with similar hobbies, interests or similar personalities traits but never on the scale as Alia, not even close. was it supposed to be a bad or a good thing? He couldn't make up his mind, he simply couldn't grasp the idea but he did know one thing, despite only meeting a short time ago, he considered her a good friend, he could tell she wasn't one of those people who pretended to be a "fake friend" although it would certainly surprise him if she had done something like that then he thought what she had told her about her life and how she was essentially a political tool to her father. The whole thing disgusted him since the same thing almost happened to him almost nine years ago when his mother tried to sell him off to another family so she could merge her business with theirs, Well he wasn't going to have that. Enlisting in the military made his mother hate her but it also traumatized her with the constant feeling that her son could die at any moment. He didn't exactly like the idea of being in the military but at least he wasn't with some ugly woman he didn't have anything in common with. Seto closed his eyes for a moment to clear his mind, taking some air in before releasing it. He turned to Alia who was still amazed by this world, he hoped of what he had to say she would take him seriously and not look at him as a creep or a pervert although he understood why. He hated the idea of anyone going through the same he had to go through and felt every person should decide their own destiny, whether on the track or off it, he always looked for that line to get the most out of life or anything in general. "It's getting pretty late now...Since am assuming you want to stay with me for the night, I want you to stay here and relax while I gather the supplies necessary to make a fire....I wouldn't be a proper gentleman now If I had a beautiful Lady do it ." "WHAT WAS THAT?" his so called inner Seto yelled at him like a mad man, he did want to say but he also wanted to tell her something else....Guess he had to muster the courage to tell her later. Walking away, Seto went on his merry way looking for large rocks and sturdy branches to burn but kept in the area, somewhat close to Alia so he wouldn't give her the idea he was abandoning her. Seto spent the next hour nearly tripping over himself looking for stones and branches, every ten minutes or so he would come back to the camp site with a handful of large rocks and sturdy branches. By the time he was done gathering supplies his feet were killing him and that was only half the battle. It didn't take long for night to come which told him he had to hurry and get this done. Seto gathered the stones around the middle of the camp site, albeit from the edge of the stream and by one, making a circle with the stones before grabbing the branches as well and building a cabin style fire. He hated using sticks to light fires but he had no choice in the manner this time. Grabbing two small sticks. he rubbed the two small sticks together until they started to smoke with fire popping out of nowhere. Putting the stick in the middle of the cabin where some dried Leafs were, it took a few moments but eventually, the cabin caught fire, making a nice and warm fire. Seto fell back in celebration, wanting to relax and take it easy now. He looked at the stars in the night sky before tilting his head at Alia. "Alia, I want to tell you something...Even though we just met, you and me are similar...to the point it kinda frightens me, to be honest, and I want you to know.... Even though I do this out of obligation I refuse to let anyone walk down the same path that I had to follow originally set by my parents.....I feel obligated to help those that walk that path so they can find the path they want to walk....I don't want to come off as a creep or a pervert and I know you just met me but If you're ever in dire help Alia, you can always come to Ryosuke Hiroka for help...." Seto then changed his tone to being completely serious to lighting up somewhat to kill some of the intensity. "No offense but you sure you're not Japanese? you certainly seem like one to me! If it wasn't for friends and family, you probably love living in Japan although if you're like me, you never get used to the Japanese Yen." @Alia
When Leonidas had first created his character, he wanted it to look completely different from what he looked like. Linking in, that's exactly what he got. The character had a different colored hair and a more muscular build as well. His height was much taller as well, but it felt like he could move his body with ease. When Dante first arrived everything looked so surreal. Like this world that was created couldn't possibly be real. Dante shifted his eyes around the landscape as he felt his heart beat increase pace. It was so amazing, he could actually feel his heart beat quicken inside of a game. He had never experienced any VR games nor heard of anything like this except the SAO incident. The experience was too much for him to handle all at once. He could ACTUALLY feel the breeze of the wind brush up against him. The attention to detail was insane. The environment was beautiful and the game felt truly alive. Maybe this was exactly what he needed, a new world to explore and make something of himself in. New legends, new people, and a new life. Dante was pulled in by the game so much that he had hardly noticed the amount of people that littered the area. You couldn't tell who were NPCs and who were real either. The game was selling itself as real and Dante was buying it. In the distance a light could be seen amongst the scattered groups of people. He began to make his way towards it, shuffling through the landscape to get a better look. Once he was in view he could see the rows of vendors that littered the area looking to grab the players' attention. Exuberant cries of free food and refreshments filled the air and left the atmosphere with electricity that could energize even the most depressed person in the world. It was a sight to behold when entering an entirely new world. Dante smiled slightly as he realized the potential that could be brought forward from this world. The adventures waiting to be had if only they were willing to take them. Rushing toward a local vendor, Dante would snatch up the food the man held out for him. The smell escaping the objects grasp and assaulting Dante's virtual nose. It was a wonderful start to his new adventure. The food looked to be like a typical chicken leg from real life. It was steaming and had gravy drizzled on top to add to the flavor. Normally he wasn't one to eat gravy but decided to chomp down on the food anyways. "Interestingly enough this isn't so bad..." He continued onward until he finished the leg down to the bone and then promptly chucked it away from view. It may or may not have been his first crime in this new world but Dante didn't cloud his mind with the thought for too long. Even if it was, he wouldn't want to stick around if anyone saw him and decided to call whatever authority figure that happened to be lying around. He wasn't going to jail on the first day of his new life, so with that he continued onward aimlessly watching the humorous events around him unfold.
<<Before Login>> The day of getting the email, a strange file in the personal computers electronic-mailing inbox was the day my whole life changed, my name is Tokaru Anderson, I'm a College Student, or rather I will be since the Academy that contacted me said they would need a few days to process my application into the Board of Educations. So while I was at home, cleaning up my New York apartment, setting things up and trying to keep it nice, since I lived alone, I had no one to clean up the place, but it all started about 3:00 PM, right as soon as my daily scheduled show came on. I had gotten a notification from my email that something had came in, I checked on it and found a file, a strange message was on it. Welcome, you have been invited to be a part of Terrasphere. Open this Email on your VR adapter to download and install the client. For your personal safety, do not post about Terrasphere on social media or admit to connecting to our server online." The high pitch VI called out all of the worded file, and with the file showing a large GB extension, I hesitated to even consider it, but after about forty minutes of getting bored with watching television I decided to check out the file on my VR rig, it didn't take long for the system to download the data file. But upon seeing the information before me, it struck my realization, "It's a Game... a Full Dive MMORPG." Once that thought struck my mind I quickly logged in, after making my account and smiled as I laid on my king sized mattress, looking up at the ceiling, the sunlight peeking through the shades, my rugged bleach blonde hair in such a mess sprawled out behind me. I retorted my next phrase to activate the personal keyword VR activation phrase. "Open direct link." And like that, the system activated, I was sent spiraling into the new world, the flashing of lights going past me, before suddenly, a dark room, tools and me, in a black undergarment, with a blank avatar before me, it was all strange, but I went along with it. <<In Game>> As I stood there, using the tools at my disposal, unsure of what was going on at the moment, but having a slight idea of the situation I was in, I only mumbled to myself as most of the games I made had much simpler character creation systems implemented, nothing as indept as this. But as I was about to flick my wrist to alter another part of the avatar, my wrist popped, and it was quite painful, grabbing it with my other I clenched my teeth to my surprise, I was expecting to do that by nature, react to pain as if it was in the real world. "W-Wait a minute... pain?" "Pain isn't something a game should have in it... unless." "It's tapping into the cerebral cortex neural mapping system, mimicking real world pain through electrical impulses." "Whoever made this game must have gotten years of neural experimentation from people testing this game?" That's what I wanted to believe, it was the only logical explanation from the sudden rush I felt, after adjusting the mistake I made, I had finally saw the icon for mapping my real bodies information, I felt like an idiot, taking about fifteen minutes to customize the character. I placed the palm of my hand to my face while hitting the icon, once it was done I saw a identical copy of my body before me, including all of my assets, it was almost scary that the game analyzed even my genitalia, but aside from that, after confirming my choice the game implemented it, adding basic clothing for the avatar, asking me if my selection was correct. And with that, clicking on confirm, I was transported into a large field, to be precise, a large oak tree, the sudden shock of feeling the prickly leaves brushing against my face was a first. "Hmmm... I can feel... the leaves... and, is that wind?" "Whoa... intense, this game must alter our neural mapping, allowing us to have all the major five senses." I quickly remarked this, looking at my HuD, seeing the character information tab, I clicked on it being that is was on the palm of my hand, I was intrigued by the unseen character HuD mapping, after clicking on the character information tab, and seeing that I had accidentally clicked on something called the Felis Race. It quickly became apparent that it was a Feline based race, "How did I manage to accidentally overlook that key feature?" "Oh well.. nothing I can do about it now." I pondered on the matter, clicking on the skills which where called Masteries in this game, quickly reading over them, I picked those of a Tank, I wanted t survive in this game and being a Tank was pretty decent of a playstyle. After that some gear appeared in my inventory, a simple great sword, or to be better, a claymore and a cloak to wear, all of which were too weak to even be called gear, after equipping it to my waist, I looked about, pulling out my mini-map to find the nearest place, which was this Wursht Outpost, and with setting his destination, I quickly skedaddled out of the tree. Going towards the field and in the direction of this Wursht Outpost, perhaps there I could get some answers on my location, this games world and the basics all players should have, strutting about, my blonde ears flickering from the breeze, my tail flicking bac and forth, this new world, all these new sensations, it was going to be interesting. -OCC: Heading to the Wursht Outpost thread.-
Under normal circumstances Seth wouldn't have even thought of participating in this VR game. However, his interest was peaked to a new kind of height. Why was it that he of all people received that strange email? Just who made this game and why were they so intent on keeping everything so "hush, hush"? Overriding his better judgement he chose to give this place a shot in order to find out what the fuss was about. When he linked himself into the world he didn't take much time to explore the various creative options. Seth Evergreen was Seth Evergreen after all. No point in changing who he was to impress others and so he was thrust into this new world. New possibilities lay in every corner and he wanted to experience all of it. Though he got the feeling that it wasn't going to be so easy with how skittish he was around new people. "No time like the present, eh?" Seth looked around the forest he was placed in. "Strange...there is no one else in sight. Am I the only one on here?" He examined the forest further and was surprised at just how...real it all was. He could smell the faintest hint of pine among the trees. He heard the bustling sounds of cicadas and wildlife within the bushes. He felt the wetness of the dew as he carefully touched the grass. It was almost too much for him to process and he nearly missed the pillar of light ahead of him. "That must be where I need to go." This new world was on a completely different level from the few VRMMOs he has played. There had to be more to this place than what meets the eye and he was intent on finding out what. He went into a light jog towards his new destination and hoped for the best. Both for himself and for anyone that might be in this forest with him.
As he and the cat spoke he'd smile. Her logic and reasoning were sound; although a bit more detailed he'd grin some leaning in as he teased; "So you got cat ears and a tail at home; seems you are a bit of a freak." he'd say poking her nose some sticking out his tongue. Taking her gift, well a requested gift he'd drink the potion; claiming some health back. Smiling he'd nod as the then got up and looked about. "So, you ready to start grinding or am I going to just do this solo. Look perfect, a rabbit. They are fast but decent experience or whatever this game gives. Also, eem to drop a rabbit's foot for crafting or something I guess. Maybe it's just a flavor item you collect?" he said shrugging as he leaned back against a tree as he watched the little Felis to see what she'd do. Eyes scanning the area; the once lonely and dull area soon filled up; the rabbit being killed by another PC stealing the young cat's kill. Sighing he'd shake his head in disappointment. "This place is too full, let's go venture further in ourselves; lose the pack of noobs." he'd say some teasingly as he headed in and on his own towards the forest. That was unless she followed; if she did he'd look about; perhaps finding another player or two that might join their party. As to his surprise one did; a mage who excelled at healing magic and naturamancy or some tentacle grape type hentai fetish guy. Chuckling some the two would lead the way; him defending the other healing and crowd controlling the enemy. This would leave the Felis or her replacement to play the DPS, or at least contribute some damage since it was early on in the game and everyone was rather pathetic. Their first battle being that of wolves, an easy and fun combat scenario; at least with a healer given all he had to do was block and slap the wolves around. The one that followed was some goblins and that was a bit more complicated as they weren't just the barbaric one's there were some shaman and ranged ones. The worst, however, was the bandits, running into double gangers; a mage healer, tank, and rogue made the task increasingly hard. None the less the trio succeed and start heading back to the city. It was there that they would soon part as the healer logged off for the night. The sun which had begun to set just minutes before was now on the horizon, "So it's getting late; think it might be time for us to call it quits. I got work in the morning, how about you accept my friend request and we can party up the next time you become available?" he'd say almost questioning her thoughts on the matter. A message popping up asking her to become friends appeared as he smiled and waited for a reply. Had she accepted or not he'd wish her a good night; logging off the game. This in itself would have made a beautiful end to a rather long day. But as they say; the first impressions are often the most remembered. [Exiting thread] @Isolt Veera
Isolt had never much been worried about what others thought of her having cat ears and wearing them from time to times or tails for that matter. It wasn't like she walked out the door all the time like that. Just when the mood struck. Course she had older brothers that teased her when she did it too but then again it was the whole brothers teasing little sister thing. And they'd be damned if they let someone hurt her feelings other then them because of it. So when Aaron teased her about it she just laughed. "Hey normal is vastly over rated you know." She laughed after that and then listened to what else he had to say. Grinding sounded like a good idea she would need to start making money and getting experience if she wanted to improve her skills and everything right. She would totally go out and kill a rabbit had it not been for another PC that went off killing the rabbits before she made a move for them. she narrowed her eyes but it didn't bother her much. She turned back to Aaron as he mentioned that this place was too full. She would have to agree and so he would more towards the forest and she would follow as they gained another to party up with them and then she would dps while the others either held or used their area effects. She ws having a great amount of fun doing this and feeling the pain of strikes or the endorphine rush of healing was a bit of an overwhelming feeling but she kept pressing on so that they could get the kills that they needed and she was having fun in this right. As they went from wolves to goblins to bandits. The bandits were a bit annoying and made it harder but they succeeded in their venture and once back in town the healer of their group logged off and they said their goodbyes to him. She looked over to Aaron as he mentioned needing to sign off himself. "Sure, I should probably sign off too." She accepted his friend request. "I'll see you around." She said as she watched him sign off. She looked around the city just a little bit longer before she herself signed off as well. [Exiting thread] @Aaron Steele
As she was sitting in her tree, with nothing but the clothes on her back, Rye's mind filtered back to when she first entered the game. The gray room that had popped up around her was slightly curious, while a somewhat naked guy sat in a chair in front of her. Her face flushed automatically, and with a flick of her fingers, she changed the gender of the character. Face still slightly red, Raven let her fingers work with the tools in front of her. After a few moments of haggling with the different colors, she merely let out an aggravated sigh and copied her current appearance over to the character. The brief flash of light accompanied with the copying merely had Raven blink curiously. It was... unnerving looking into the emerald gaze of her virtual copy. Making an uncomfortable sound, she gestured at the tools and considered the two different species. Faerin, Human, or Felis? Admittedly, the Felis looked intriguing, along with the Faerin. Pursing her lips, she tapped the Felis button and blinked in bewilderment as the virtual character in front of her began to sprout the ears and a tail of a domestic cat. Two lines on either side of her face darkened into small stripes, increasing Raven's curiosity. Huh. Shrugging mildly, Raven tapped the name button and tapped in the first name that came to mind. Rye. It would probably be better if she added a last name to it. She couldn't use her own last name, d'Lias, but.. Emerson? After one of her favorite poets/writers? Why not? Nodding decisively, she hit the large accept button. A dizzying rush of spinning and a flash of white light had Rye literally appear out of nowhere onto a tree branch. Well, the game would have probably spawned her somewhere random. Perhaps she could try to climb down? It didn't seem that far down. However, she miscalculated her distance as she tried to drop herself from the branch. After a few moments of flailing awkwardly as she fell, Rye found herself facing the ground. Then everything exploded into white, and Rye fell into unconsciousness. --- When Rye came to, she had been chased off by one of the wolves. It had been by itself, which was surprising since wolves were usually in a pack. Now, she was cornered up into a tree and staring down at the patient yellow eyes of the gray wolf beneath her. Rye's pale pink lips curled into a reflexive snarl, her bright green eyes flashing angrily. Now where would she go? Glancing around furtively, she frowned lightly when she spotted a large pillar of light in the distance. In the opposite direction, and where the wolf was sitting right now. An aggravated sigh escaped her at the sight. "Will you bloody move!" she snarled down at the creature. The wolf let out a huff that sounded vaguely amused, increasing Rye's agitation. "Oh, sod off you miserable mutt!" she snarled down at it.
The light was blinding and dizzying and incredibly annoying. The Link Start had always annoyed Aiden with all that twisting and spiraling animations, the play of light and colors. It was the feeling of making your eyes crossed, save that they were closed and you were no longer in any real control of your body. Your actual body at least. The avatar he was faced with upon loading in was a boring default and he snorted to himself before he set to changing it. He'd wondered at what- at who he would play. One of his peppy snipers from GGO? Maybe the mute rogue from- no, this game had too much player interaction. The noble paladin with a black past he'd used before? No. Boring one and all. He'd gotten to used to their skin and it was time the snake shed. Rook was a light gone off. A little secret for himself, a reference to the streets he owed so many good times to. He grinned and began his work until the odd character stood before him in repose. White hair, too-bright golden eyes, and the look of a fox on his face. Aiden hummed to himself and molded the jawline and the nose a bit more. A bit less masculine. The character matched the faerin race's namesake with the fae look on their face. Now the fun started where before the link had. They opened their eyes to a dark canopy's cast shadows, only the faintest glow through the leaves hinting at the light high above them. There was no breeze between the large trees of the thick grove. They moved forward and curled their fingers, the tremble of the simulated magic thrumming just beneath their skin. This they could work with. As the shadows gave way to a less hostile sight, they saw in the distance a rising pillar of light. The white-haired velten tilted their head and smiled curiously out across the distance. It would take him a while to settle into their character, but he'd have time to settle in on the little journey the game was already setting them up for. They followed, as commanded by the distant pillar, a nebulous path that existed only in the form of missing underbrush and a noted lack of creatures outside of their skill level. Not that it would take much to be outside of their starting level. They only possessed base equipment and a weapon in the form of tarot cards. Rook flipped through their player menu curiously and glanced over the considerable spell access they had. There were certainly drawbacks to Astramancy, but to have the other spells at their finger tips? To reach other places and brush their magic against other entities to entreat them for their domain's might? The grin could not be contained. Might as well go ahead and get some practice- And so there was their practice ahead of them. A wolf, snarling low at the base of a tree. It's aggro was firmly on something high above its head. Perfect. They pulled out their deck and skimmed their fingers along the backs of the basic cards. They could almost feel them arching into the touch. Rook shuffled and pulled the first of three, the other two followed quickly to float before them as they were flipped with an unsettling silence in the still air. The Eight of Wands. Justice. The Queen of Wands. Swiftness. Power. Instinct. The three had the feel of a burning predator, like a cat licked by flame and coated in ash. Fire simmered and sputtered across the cards before the three slid together, a fireball roaring to life as it was asked for and given. The cards had decided the fate of the hound. @Rye Emerson
Something roared beneath her feet, the form of the sound a great ball of fire. The flames licked hungrily at the wolf, sending its flammable fur up into flames. What was distinctly odd was that Rye could feel the heat simmering beneath her feet, almost blistering the pale skin. The flames hissed and spat up at her, crackling and taunting her almost playfully. Hissing down at the fire herself, Rye tilted her head and narrowed her emerald gaze down at the blistering and totally dead creature. The real question was where the fireball had come from. Rye scampered up the tree farther, causing the branches to shake and send a few leaves down to the ground. There was a frustrated look on the Felis's face, her tail twitching idly behind her. She needed to get down to the ground, to a place where she knew she could defend herself properly. Concentrating on a branch below the black-haired cat person, Rye found herself carefully slipping down the trunk until she could safely place her feet on what looked like a sturdy branch. What she hadn't accounted for was the fact that she had landed on a dead branch, one that was ready to snap off at anytime. As she took a slightly more confident step forward, Rye could hear an ominous cracking from behind her. Alarmed, Rye's black ears flared instinctively, her tail lashing behind her and slowly gaining volume in pure fur. No, she couldn't fall! No! She didn't mind heights, but at this particular vertical situation, she could probably break a bone. Rye practically flew to the next branch, hands curling around it and forcing herself to drop to the one underneath her. Puffing slightly from exertion, she glanced upwards to where the branch was. Or rather, should have been. Blinking in confusion, she tracked the slightly broken leaves and little twigs from where the branch...fell? Bright emerald eyes peered downwards, making an odd noise of confirmation as she spotted the dead branch at the bottom. And at the bottom... Rye could see the white hair and slightly feminine face of a person. A person! A smile of relief shot across her face briefly, before Rye continued to maneuver herself down the tree in a more cautious, careful way. The last branch she jumped on wasn't that far from the ground, so she ended up swinging her way down to freedom. Admittedly, she hadn't been the most quiet of people. She could have called a bunch of angry predators her way, with how much of a racket the falling branch had been. Tail weaving behind her warily, Rye angled her ears about and seemed slightly nervous. "...Hi." she greeted anxiously, trying to remember the Player Handbook she read once she entered the game. To open the interface... it was something with the hand! Oh! Rye clenched her fist, quickly releasing it and staring at the Palm Menu in front of her. She needed to check her inventory, to see if she had anything useful. After a few 'Nope, no, nein...', she opened up the backpack and fished out two daggers that flashed into existence in both hands. "That would have been useful," Rye remarked sarcastically, having seemingly forgotten about the white-haired individual nearby.
