I've always loved the idea of mage-berserkers. Pure DPS, easily melee or ranged. A little Tank, if only from the fact that they prolly would pull more than a little aggro. Pyromancy, because wild flames just matches up so nicely. Aeromancy makes getting in and out of the fight nice and easy, and lightning magic just fits REALY nicely with berserking, too. And Berserker because, well.... it's kinda on the dang tin, isn't it? Lol
Druids are the best D&D class, and that is absolutely objective fact ;) Well no, not really, but nature magic is super cool. Naturamancy for plant magic and a bit of healing, Beast Taming so animals can fight and tank for me, Cooking for a bit of flavor and sustainability in the wild I'm still a really, really long way from unlocking my next two mastery slots, but I'm definitely thinking of Magical Tools for some extra spellcasting oomph, and probably Alchemy? Light armor and Riding for the default masteries will be useful as well.
It's that time again, here's an open thread for feedback and suggestion. Either submit your comment here or PM me. This is NOT your chance to air your grievances, please be constructive in your response. Meme or non-serious posts will be deleted. Let's go!
Adding a list of examples of how to use each kind of magic would help save annoying questions from players who want to make sure their ideas fall into the right category. Adding a bestiary might be amusing at some point, but not necessary. Mostly it'd just help people to have a consistent idea of what's out there in each given area and how "tough it should be" to face off against. Naming and building some "battle grounds" like in WoW would draw some group interest. Maybe have prizes for which team comes out on top, or have them face off against NPCs or "PC" npc "players." I forget who originally came up with that idea, but it's not mine so credit to them. Shopkeepers have complained about the 100gp per month for investing 1500gp into their store "isn't enough" but anything much higher would probably break the system. There could be something implemented to increase that amount by going on quests or developing a new Mercantile Mastery that lets shopkeeps get blanket GP and possibly discounts in buying recipes (up to a certain threshold). I know we can flavor-text that we just snatch a ride in a carriage etc but adding "mounts" to mini pets and all that might amuse some people and let them make use of the Riding Mastery. When the next world boss fight comes around they could even be super useful for anyone who is ranged to remain a mobile DPS, or to let healers cross the battlefield quickly without having to burn energy doing so. edit: Plus, people are going crazy over the eggs which as far as I can tell do nothing. Imagine a mount competition.
I'm not sure if it's an aesthetic choice or not, but if we could get some indication which section a thread is in while we are reading the thread, that'd be nice.
You should put under rules that names must be alphabetic only, without letters or other keyboard characters, so that imbeciles don't apply for completely stupid usernames.
