Making a new Friend

  1. As the young Faerin made his way about the starting area known as Brisshal he'd slowly examine the area. While most players appeared to be running off to the quest; gathering goods. Others appeared to be grinding it out and slaying anything and everything before him. The obvious player killers becoming known quite obviously. But for this streamer, what did he do. He'd begin immediately reading anything he could find; lore in most games often went overlooked. But as an avid gamer, he realized the lore was most important because it held secrets, hints and otherwise would almost always guarantee you to some sort of legend or in-game reward for completing a task otherwise unknown. Like solving the puzzle to open a part of a dungeon or flat out unlocking one.

It was this mindset which his fans loved; always challenging him to solve the puzzle first if not make guesses and speculations. However being a VR and a pretty secretive one a that; at least in the US. He'd upload and stream it in Japan; which made his actions legal. Yet at the same time it was something few Americans could do; so those too afraid to break the law would be able to watch his videos or live streams to experience the game with no law breaking; genius and quite fun. None the less the male would make his way off towards the festival in search of any hints or tips of some dungeon he'd read about earlier in his lore. Rumored to be somewhere in the Brisshal forest. Lips parting as he finally spoke to his fans he'd laugh.

Well, it appears like we don't have many options other than to investigate; although there are quite a bit of players around. I think it might be best if we team up with some just in case things get a bit out of hand. So with this being said, I'm going to see who we can find. His eyes scanning the area; soon landed upon @Seto Kurama and as such he'd begin to walk over to the male. Standing at 4'1 and fairly slender he was about as threatening to look as a child but beneath it his combination for magic was deadly. So should it be needed he might just unleash the beast?

"Hello kind sir, the name is Master Daisuke, cold I interest you in joining my team for a bit of exploring and beast slaying? I know you are probably busy or not as new to the game as I, but I'd sure appreciate the help. Maybe we could even split the profits 50/50." His words true, yet humble. He was hoping he could at least convince the male to stick around if not to aid him and be his meat shield to at least become a valid companion to help kill time. As he shifted his gaze from the male he'd look around them. There appeared to be much to explore and even more to slay. Rabbits, foxes, and a howling wolf heard at the distance.

Raising his staff he'd motion his hands as to send the team invite before shifting his weight and bowing, "If not there is no problem, I will take my leave and wish you a good day sir." the short magician would say as he prepared to form the team; a contract option to split rewards and dice roll for good things they both wanted. His attention once more returning to the being before him. "What is your skill set, clearly I'm a magician but what are you my kind, sir? Do you think our abilities might synergize? I've read a rumor of a foul beast hiding in a cave nearby. He might just be a decent challenge. Care to test your luck?" he'd ask curiously.

  2. OOC: I'll post more tomorrow probably

Brisshal, another new area for Seto to explore and investigate, he was drawn here by rumors he heard from a friend that the area was good for exploring certain sub cells and grinding it by killing monsters that were in similar level to him and to the other players obviously. Seto had explored a bit of the main area a bit in the last day he was in Brisshal but he was still new to the area. Seto was walking down the main path when a player named Daisuke asked introduced himself to Seto. He simply crossed his arms in silence as the player spoke of needing his help. Normally Seto wasn't the hero but he was still new and couldn't afford to make enemies yet so when he told Seto his name was Daisuke and wanted his help in exploring the area's cells and grinding by killing some monsters. This would work out for Seto for he wanted to gather more information on the area and it wouldn't hurt to get a couple of levels in. "Works for me Daisuke, I don't mind since I need to gather more information on this place. We can worry about the loot later when it comes up, for now, it doesn't matter. Seto responded to Daisuke in a cold yet serious tone but that wasn't intentional as that was his natural tone of voice but it suited him being a serious man after all. With his eyes going up then down, Seto scanned Daisuke to see if there were any weakness or to show how weak he was but he didn't give Seto the vibe he was a noob, it was something but he couldn't his finger on it. Seto snapped out of his train of though when
Daisuke asked him of his abilities. He didn't like talking to players about since he was new to the game but at the time he knew practically everyone was new and the beta was far different than the original product. After Daisuke was finished speaking, Seto using his right hand pointed to his Saya of his blade.

"I am a warrior of House Kurama who follows "The Way of the Warrior"..this shouldn't prove difficult for us since you can attack safely from the rear and provide support while I get up and personal to those who want to kill us...Sounds easy enough right? Or did you have something in mind? A decent leveled monster in a cave you say? sounds interesting....disappointing we can't tame such a beast though."
Seto looked back at Daisuke still serious as when he first started to speak.

  3. As the other player had introdcuded himself the shorter figure would nod, making a mental note of their introduction as well as the sudden shift in tone. he was a serious gamer, finally someone he could use to get things done. Now that it appeared he was done talking the male would nod and agree, "Good, then we can deal with the minor stuff later; I'll just leave it to automatically collect and we can pick and choose once the day is done." he'd say as he himself made his way over towards the path he was to take, listening as the two walked noting the sword upon his back and his little roleplay about a house of some clan.

"So you roleplay, interesting. House of Kurama, Kurama why does that seem familiar, wasn't that the Kyuubi's name from that anime Naruto. Classic but old. Well, a few other legends and tales but I remember hearing about that one as a kid. However, your plan is accurate. I can sit back and let you do all the work. I have Hydromancy and Aeromancy, so I can freeze them in place, then let you beat them to a pulp or soak them and shock them thus causing some paralysis to make it easier if they are a bigger target, either way I'm a damage dealer first, support second but only due to my ability to properly balance myself. Yes, thought went into my skills, so no I'm not a child, despite looking like one."

He'd say walking along with his staff; using it as a walking staff. His small steps almost like waddles as he motioned the male to follow, "Come now brave warrior, you can't lead the charge from the back, I have short legs but I am not slow" he'd say witha grin as he teased setting up his staff forward as it began to glow and he chanted; a few foxes running by he'd send a beam of ice to slowly freeze them in place. His body still walking forth looking for the next target as if to acknowledge the warriors task of simply finishing them off. The effect would pass within a few seconds so he didn't have long.

As that event unfolded he'd turn his attention to a goblin and his buddies. His hands waving about with the staff he'd shoot off some water blobs at them casing them to become wet and pool at their feet. "Distract them a bit..." he'd say as he began to immediately chant and prepare to drop his lightning bolt upon them. A minor damage move but decent aoe so effectely with the set up a tripple attack because of the chain effect doubling. As he completed the circuit and raised the chance for a stun effect*

    Empty dice !

As his skill ended he'd take a moment to pause and see how the warrior was doing. This sort of skill too mental fortitude, one a bit easier in comparison to physical ability. None the less his spells albiet costly were still a bit less energy consuming over time as he could regain his mana over time walking or not. Eyes closing he'd simply use the time he had while waiting to meditate; unsure if it helped it allowed him to relax and gather his senses. A sudden feeling felt as his eyes opened and a pack of wolves came running. "Well this could have gone smoother, perhaps it might be best to let you tank this while I prepare another combo.

His hands waving as if to summon water once more as he muttered his spell; the water would slowly form. This time around he'd consider casting it before him then freezing it around him; almost as if to freeze the land itself. A semi smart idea. Eyes shifting to the male, "Almost done, I need just a bit more time to prep the next part to this task. He'd say the ground covered in water in front of him; a fairly deep pool of water laid there.

    @Seto Kurama

  4. Seto raised an eyebrow when Daisuke noted that he did roleplay. "Roleplay?" Seto muttered it under his breath as he crossed his arms. Seto was far too serious to do roleplay when they were alway playing a role playing game. Deep inside it kinda annoyed at him somewhat but he knew this was to expected after all and this player would certainly not be the last person to question him either about it, at least most NPC's didn't question him about it, more were curious how the hell he even survived the house's fall more than anything else. He hoped the player wouldn't question him too much about it, he wasn't really in the mood to tell the tale anyway. Seto continued his serious tone as he explained, wanting to clear the air

"Sorry I think your confused Daisuke, House Kurama was a real a noble house in this world that was run by an NPC family led by a powerful samurai warrior, Lord Katsou. I was unofficially adopted by Lord Katsou as a son and student of sorts before it's destruction, being it's only survivor though. I was not present when the keep was destroyed....Anyway, that sounds like a plan bud, I got two handed slash and guard so this should be no problem....You don't seem like a child to me which is a good thing since most players are immature doing theft of smut."

Seto shook his head after he teased a bit before he began walking beside Daisuke whom used his staff like a walking stick to move forward along the path. He could tell Daisuke was enjoying this already teasing him, luckily for him, this didn't bother Seto much, used to it from real life situations. He thought it was a little cruel when Daisuke froze the foxes near them but he simply shrugged it off, feeling if they couldn't defend themselves then they were weak and deserved their fate. Of course, there was no reason to let them stay there and besides their death would make him stronger in XP...somewhat. Using his left hand's thumb, he pushed the tsuba guard up out of the saya before using his right hand to quickly gripping the Tsuka handle. Using all his strength he could muster, Seto drew his Dai-Katana and brought it down over his head in a heavy vertical strike so fast it more of a flash than anything before having the blade swing back up over his head from the momentum and stayed in an offensive stance. Bringing his attention to his now partner, he seemed to have gathered some friends whom he wanted to slay? "Goblins eh? Done...leave it to me." He looked over to see he was powering up to cast a spell so he would need cover, this was starting to get fun for Seto, he hadn't killed much in a few days, not since he was grinding with Alia in the region nearby. With the goblins going on the move towards them, Seto lowered her Dai-Katana into the Migi Gedan No Kamae position, where you lowered the hilt to the tip of you hip with the blade going towards the ground, it was highly effective for deception or powerful under swipes attacks from the bottom like when someone uppercut a person. Charging in, using all his strength Seto performed a powerful under attack with his blade coming up from below, surprising the hell out of the goblins. The first slash brought down two goblins who were caught off guard with the third taken down with another vertical strike fueled by the momentum from the slash which he brought back to his chest in a guard position. The other two goblins were scared out of their minds, they didn't even try, instead, they just ran for their pitiful lives, Seto thought of giving chase but he knew that was a bad idea since he had to cover his partner.
Seto had to change positions quickly as his partner kinda yelled he had to tank for him as a bunch of wolves ambushed them. This was something Seto wasn't expecting today, to get attacked so frequently without remorse. Jumping near Daisuke, although enough for him to give him ground and some magic. Seto continued to take a defensive position, holding his blade diagonally across his upper torso and face, ready to attack when ready. When the wolves finally attacked, he brought down his blade in a vertical diagonally strike before using the momentum to throw in a horizontal strike as well before covering his vitals once again.

  5. Barely noticing if he caused any sort of offense he would continue on, as motioned passed. The Duo killing the creatures and beasts it wouldn't have been long before the foxes were killed that the goblins came, then the wolves. Slaying all in their paths. However, the wolves were trickier, as they seemed to have the upper hand and more practice with fighting in a pack; not to mention an annoying mate boost and pack boost. Silly features for a game but kept wolves annoying in numbers but increasingly easy once their numbers dwindled down. The ice which he cast; helped protect him in a circle, before that a pool of water was formed. Waiting for the perfect moment to strike he'd continue to chat; almost repeating as if to charge his attack; now as the wolves drew near and closer he'd light them up like a Christmas tree; the shock energizing them a bit perhaps if not paralyzing them. But given the laws of nature. An object in motion stays in motion, the wolves would continue forth and slide across the ice despite pain or stunned. Thus giving him a safeguard, his staff swung down and at any close to him guiding them away.

Eyes shifting to his teammate as the wolves seemed vulnerable he'd grin once more chanting again preparing another defensive strike his staff at the edge of the ice preparing to utilize it. Given some wolves would still be fighting his ally if not fighting him; those which missed or were stunned would have come back in now to strike. If not surrounded him to strike at all angles. This was perfect; the same ice layered that forced them to slide would become a spiked wall of ice piercing up into them as they charged in. All that it took was a quick tap of the staff as he injured the wolves further, leaving them in a state that his partner could clean up the entire pack in a few blows. His body now running in another direction as if to avoid further combat, his eyes shifting back as they followed him rushing up to his team mate. Eyes shifting forward to meet with his. "Finish them."

The only words mutered in this entire course of events. As such he'd smile some and make his way further towards a trail. It was there he'd pause at a small opening and sit upon as stump. Eyes only now looking behind him to his warrior buddy he'd smile, "Now time for a break some food and a fire. I got some leftover veggies and there is a rabbit over there. I'm sure you must know how to make food. I have limited skills so, not sure. The last person, I traveled with could cook. But if not Hope you enjoy Carrots." he'd say chuckling as he prepared to veggies and sat there trying to relax some; recharging some mana. His attention shifted some as he looked to him, "The further in we go the harder it will get, bears, maybe a few goblin camps. If we are unlucky a troll. A bit tougher and larger than most; almost like a mini area boss. Super weak compared to the world boss, but strong enough that two or more are required to defeat it." he'd say informing him of what he knew.

Sitting there he'd let his feet dangle off the stump some swining as he hummed a bit then parted his lips again to speak, "So tell me, why name your blade and why carry the title of an NPC clan in game; was it that astounding of an experience. I've had that happen a few times, it's are. Tell me what it was, share some insight to someone who wasn't beta. Please, it would be nice to hear the Lore of such a clan, I am an enthusiast with that stuff." He'd say as he motioned the male to come and join him taking a seat nearby. Offering him some food in hopes he might losen up and explain more about his ordeal.

  6. OOC: sorry it was crap lol

The damm wolves played mind games with them, running around them like a merry go around, the whole thing began pissing Seto off, he knew they use pack tactics on them to try and get their way, the buffs they got as well didn't help their situation but Seto was damm sure he wasn't going to be brought down by a bunch of wolves but he knew he couldn't do anything rash, leaving his guard down could risk his very life, playing smart, Seto raised his Dai-Katana in a defensive stand, holding his blade close in case of any quick reaction defense he have to do. It was a good thing the wolves became attracted by Daisuke's spell, they slid by Seto using their pack tactics and charged in for the kill as the pool of water he summoned earlier took it's effect as well as shocking them then they slid on their asses as the water turned to ice, it was hilarious to Seto as he laughed for a second before focusing again. Seeing those annoying wolves, vulnerable, Seto went in for the kill and threw down vertical strikes on the beasts, keeping using the momentum of the blade to keep bringing down the blade on the next one and the next one. Despite getting a few of them, Seto wasn't fast since he was essentially using a claymore, he couldn't recover and swing his Dai Katana fast enough, luckily for him the survivors turned around after the effects worn off and ran towards Daisuke which only slammed them into an ice cool spiked wall which in return pierced them. Seto used this opportunity to strike them down with some quick horizontal strikes, leaving a mess on the ice, making it crimson, not that it would bother them. Seto did even realize his teammate told him to strike them down when he did it by just instinct alone.

Sheathing his Dai Katana in its saya, Seto carefully picked up two of the dead foxes and carried their corpses on his back before he caught up with Daisuke a few moments later he as began walking down the trail. They had spent some time down this trail before Daisuke mentioned a small spot to him up head. It was a good deal to him, Seto could a break after killing what? a dozen or so monsters in a short time, after all, killing monsters, was hard work and they weren't even getting paid for it."Yeah don't worry about itI I know the basic's." Dropping off the fox corpses next to his Dai Katana he also took off his back, Seto spent the next few minutes gathering decent sized rocks and branches to start a cabin style fire. Seto then rubbed two sticks together for a few before it caught fire on the cabin style fireplace. he took out a skinning knife and began skinning the foxes of their furs as he listened to Daisuke about the difficulty of monsters, it was all good to him, bigger beast, a better challenge although he didn't want to fight something like a hydra. Seto sat quietly for about twenty minutes skinning the foex before finishing up and laying their meat to cook on the fire, it was gonna be a bit before they were ready for consumption. Feeling a bit tired, Seto laid back against a log and closed his eyes only to be disturbed by questions a few moments later, he guess he should have seen this coming and just answer them.
"Sorry to disappoint but I didn't name my blade, a Dai Katana is a type of Katana designed to be a heavy, two-handed blade to take down cavalry and large beasts, it's strikes are very powerful on the charge and can bring anything down in a single strike smaller that an Ogre probably. As for your other question, it's quite simple, it was my family in this world, they may not have been real but at least they cared somewhat, I carry the burden as a term of respect for the fallen, Even though I was unofficially adopted, they still wanted me to carry the name so technically I still use it. I don't know about House Kurama honestly, I never asked that often and Lord Katsou didn't enjoy talking about it. I know they were essentially a warring period Japanese like clan, having samurai's as retainers then knights of Europe. I have a book from there destroyed keep, it's the only thing that made it into the game from the beta...well for that clan anyway. The book mostly tells of their history but doesn't go into detail and has their family tree in there as well as some of their traditions and customs, am not in it since I was never officially adopted and besides an NPC can't give birth to a player that I know of. I believe the book was more of a short, incomplete wiki then a true book. The clan was probably destroyed by another, I really wouldn't be surprised honestly, I don't really care since I can't do anything about it and it's old history, I highly doubt I'll rebuild the clan if that's something I want to do. As for the beta, it was basically a shitty version of that mmo that was closed down, it wasn't that special, I played it somewhat in my free time awhile back."

  7. As they fought their way through hell the young mage appeared to be all too familiar with how to combat creatures using his brain over his brawn. It wasn't long before the duo had slain the beasts. But even then they carried on before stopping to rest. As he inquired about the male's history, the beta and so much more he'd begin writing down what was told to him. A fan of lore and a scholar, in general, he'd made notes about a lot of the game. From what combo's worked to certain players and how he viewed them. He'd even made a few data cards to keep a record of their accomplishments and or reliable information on them. Seto's simply, read possible role player. Kurama's last survivor and Beta Player. His abilities such as skills, social and honor were listed as the best attribute. However, he'd finish up his notes and simply stare at the male.

"Well, that was rather refreshing. Thank you for the information. So you were saying the game was basically a cheap knock off of Sword Art before it passed Beta, seems like a lot of changes. Since I was there, I'd know. But that doesn't seem all that promising as this game is. It's rare to find folk who don't know about the events that transpired in SAO, sadly most of us stuck in there didn't like to talk about it. Although to be fair I was younger, almost didn't make it. But in the end, it was an experience I would give up for anything. Although to be honest, it leaves me afraid to die in the game. It's a silly Phobia to most but to anyone stuck in that game they'd know why..." he'd say before sighing and picking up himself preparing to hop down off the stump and begin walking again.

"Come let's get a move on. I have things I'd like to get done if I'm, to be honest." he said smiling warmly as he once more would lead them into the forest; not to far off there appeared to be some smoke where there was smoke there was fire and where there was fire there was a possible camp."So, I may be a fool but that smoke tells me someone is nearby, care to explore and see just who it is?" he'd ask curiously making his way over cautiously his staff moving forward before getting snapped at by a bear trap. An annoyed look he'd lower himself to unlock the device and free his staff. Once done he'd turn to express a concern, "Think anyone heard that?" He'd say not noticing if anyone had appeared or he alerted the enemy.

    @Seto Kurama

  8. "No problem, I don't usually don't talk about it to most people on here, you seem like one of those people who are serious. As for the beta, It was still a good game although a bit clunky at times. I couldn't honestly tell you why that incident was such a big deal compared to war but that's that a topic for another day....yeah we should get a move, right behind you."

Grabbing his Odachi's saya, he wrapped the saya's straps over his shoulders to his back and around his waist to keep his Odachi with its saya on his back. Picking up his blade, he slid his Odachi in its resting place before walking out of the break area with Daisuke as he lead them into a large forest. It didn't take long though for those two to see the smoke in the sky, coming from somewhere deeper in the forest. What could it be? Seto began running a thousand simulations in his mind that could have possibly happened, maybe it was a forest fire? no it wasn't hot enough for it to naturally happen, lighting? it wasn't raining. Only man could have made the smoke, it had to be bandits, a mage that didn't know what the hell they were doing or another player making camp....well no matter what made it, he knew Daisuke was probably curious as well, probably wanted to see what caused it, of course in his high train of thought, Daisuke did ask him, catching Seto off guard initially but in the process he let off an animal trap....wonderfull.

"That's quite a possibility now, we need to adjust our plan....now. Alright we can go in but the element of surprise is probably gone now so let's be selective and secretive about this, were not sure what the hell made it so we can't be reckless....well until we know what were dealing with anyway." Seto looked in both directions, scanning the area as he slowly raised his left hand on his Odachi's hilt, ready to draw at any moment.

  9. As the duo succeeded in their plan, it wouldn't be long before the two made it towards the campsite; but Master Daisuke being the careless scrub that he was had triggered the trap; the element of surprise most likely lost. Yet Silent he'd free his staff and make his way backwards tossing something into the bush before him as he head behind the tree to catch whom ever it was off guard or at least thrown the suspicion off them. Motioning for his team mate to follow suit the duo would await the being to inspect the area; as such a bandit appeared looking confused. A swift motion of his hands chanting lowly caused water to spiral up and freeze the man up to his neck leaving it as a clean quick cut for his team mate to make; lopping it off. A faint smile passing had it gone without a hitch.

But even if it had; the head had to roll somewhere and that was what must have alerted the others as he looked to his the male. Time to revert to my old trick. Melting the ice to water and spreading it would do one of two things; set up for his next spell to light them up and two prepare to lock their feet up momentarily if not for a bit due to the paralysis combination. He eally was a bit of a one trick pony; but if it wasn't broken why fix it. Synergy was key in all aspects. So this would in turn provide his team mate with a source of freedom to nail his target; had the two's combo work the bandits would drop quickly; trainees nothing special and not nearly enough to justify the camp to be full. It would be wise to assume the others were out hunting.

Smiling he'd take the lead in once more this time more careful as he looked about, "Alright lets raid this camp take what we can and move along." Yet it wouldn't be long before he'd stumbled across a mission; the text appearing forth both males; a map found designating a bigger camp which they could use to start a quest with some law enforcement as well as the optional part of the quest reading save the prisoners. Looking about he hadn't seen any but he knew most games with optional quest paid out more so his motive strictly how this was to benefit him. Lips curled he'd call out to his partner, "We're saving them right?" he said in a questioning tone as he went about his way searching the camp before finding som tied up folk in a tent with a sleeping set of guards. More appeared to be locked in cages; calling over his team mate with his hands motioning his finger to his lip to stay quiet he'd point inside before backing off and away.

"Alright boss, what's the plan. I see the guards are asleep, do we sneak around the back and attack while they are unconcious or forget the fight and risk stealing the keys to free them unnotticed." he would ask the male his eyes focused on the tent and the area around him; a few growls could be heard not far off. Had they attracted guard dogs or perhaps wolves passing through, either way this story was about to get so much more interesting. Lips forming into a grin he'd raise his staff and wait for the orders.

  10. The sudden shaking of the nearby bush, turning his attention at Daisuke throwing a stone in the bush to distract who was ever nearby which would grant them an opportunity. Giving him a hand sign to move out, Seto followed behind, crouching behind Daisuke while they hid, waiting a bandit came into the distance to see what made the confusion yet he was confused. Using the opportunity Daisuke froze the idiot as soon as he got close enough, giving Seto another chance to bloody his blade. Walking up to the man, Seto grinned at the bandit's face as the bandit within the ice watched helplessly as Seto brought down a vertical strike on the bandit, nearly crushing him in half and shattering the ice, this would almost indefinitely bring more attention, he hoped Daisuke had some sort of plan although he lying to himself if he didn't want to charge int their and kill them all...slowly. Using his Magic Daisuke had the shards of ice deform from ice to water once the ice melted and spread it. He didn't have to say anything towards Seto for he already knew he was most likely going to prepare a spell of some sort. He watched as the bandit's decapitated head hit the ground making a small thump noise before rolling away into a nearby bush. Seto simply nodded at Daisuke's remark of wanting to raid the bandit's camp, it worked with him as long as he got to eliminate these weaklings. Upon getting closer, a text arose above him and Daisuke, much to their surprise. It was a mission briefing which displayed a map and pinpointing a larger camp dead with town guardsmen who would help them in their pursuit against the bandits to rescue their prisoners. Seto snapped to Daisuke as he brought up a question to save the prisoners from the bandits. Seto never considered himself a hero and would most likely never be one, it wasn't in his nature to do so but he never considered himself to be fully I'll, he was always running with only the strongest surviving but he always felt everyone should be a chance to be stronger and if one had to revert to cheap tactics such as slavery to become stronger, he kill them himself. "Yeah were going to save them, I may not be a knight in shining armor but I'll be dammed If I let them cook up slavery while am around."

Seto soon followed Daisuke to the camp after he gave Daisuke his response about the prisoners. He was exploring the camp while Seto had put up his foot against the wall with his arms crossed, looking for sentries and patrols coming back to base, waiting until he was given the signal to come over to a nearby tent, displaying the guards asleep. Seto was provided with two idea's put forth by Daisuke, kill the bastards or do the sneaky approach. Seto grinned before unsheathing his Odachi.
"Well I can't say I want to show these scum mercy....how about we have some fun before the real fun begins, it's not like these bastards can do us any real harm unless we lower our guard right?."

  11. As everything began to fall into place the male would smile. His plan seemed to be a viable one yet at the same time his teammate seemed more than willing to kill. Not entirely surprised but it was something few had the stomach for, a hero might just capture the enemy and subdue them. An anti-hero or villain wouldn't take a second guess. While he was no hero himself he found it easier to play the fine line of gray, doing whatever was in his best interest. This in itself was better to succeed or grow as an individual. Not only that but it was far better with character development as a human than anything else. The preconceived notions of good and bad were too finely written when life was not as perfect. So the male seemed pleased by the events that followed.

Hearing his partners words he'd chuckle to himself some as he watched him charge in and assault the guard. His words held some truth so long as the numbers were not too high. A faint smile passed as he too fought the male in question. Sending off a burst of air to knock him back as he turned to grab the key which fell off his body. Leaving the male to the samurai he'd make way to the cage's unlocking them and pointing to the weapon racks. It wouldn't be long into their rescue that a passing mutt howled alarming the others not far off to return to base. This was it, a war was about to unfold. A battle to be remembered. His staff slamming down hard on the dog the small platoon of men along with himself and the samurai would become surrounded. A faint look of annoyance passed his face.

"Minor setback but we've helped these men, they are armed and whatever happens from here is their own destiny. I for one will not die here today; so what do you say we stop playing around and get serious. I'm starting to feel the urge to really let loose. As such I'll need a bit to charge my next attack." the young mage would say standing short and with both arms out he'd close his eyes and begin to chant. A random arrow flying forth to strike at the male would soon be blocked by another as the battle began within the tent for them. Outside of a few more guards fighting with the mutts and a few archers. Over all, the entire ordeal seemed to become a giant ess; but how could they fix it. Clean this up and make sure things ended good for them?

  12. With his Odachi raised high and holding it close to his chest as he moved in for the kill, charging right into the enemy. Meeting blade to blade, he slammed a vertical strike on a bandit's sword, shattering the blade, forcing the Odachi's blade to rip through the flesh and breaking the bones of the unfortunate bandit, the other's hesitated as Seto regained his posture and continued the assault, ripping through the air with an under strike from below, Seto gripping his hilt, used his muscles to throw the blade up, cutting into the torso of the bandit who was caught off guard by his ally's death before laying down a diagonal strike at another bandit as he drew close. Going on the defensive after failing to kill that one, he parried attack after attack until he saw an opening. Taking the advantage of the opening, he ducked the man's attack before closing in the distance and bringing his blade left on his waist, performing a horizontal strike, killing the idiotic sap as blood began pouring out like a river as soon as the blade went through his skin then into his flesh. He barely noticed the Moran that was thrown onto the ground and without his weapon due to Dasuke's handy magic. Seto used the fear of death to get this man running into an open cage with the key in its lock.....oh he was going to enjoy this alright. Slamming the cage door open, Seto started to laugh vilely before speaking in a similar tone.

"Oh, it's time scum.....It's time I feed you to the darkness that fuels the dark gods.......You regret ever going against the law and civilization for pure greed.....You will have a fate worse than death itself."

Bringing his Odachi back up, Seto looked at the man with a devilish grin only the devil would be proud of before bring his blade on the man, not once but twice, ripping the man's arms off before bringing it down his blade direction down in a piercing matter, impaling both his legs, forming nearly a hole in his leg's flesh. Seto simply continued to grin as the man in the cage screamed in horror and for his life but no one would come to rescue a bandit. The man pleaded for mercy to be spared upon him to which Seto simply spat on his face.

"I don't give mercy to scum like you.....Wuhahahaha!"

Walking away, Seto closed the door to the cage and threw the key to the cage's door somewhere in the forest, leaving the bandit to his slow, painful death. Seto rejoined the fight as Daisuke unlocked many cages and pointed them in the direction of the weapons on their racks. He knew shit just hit the fan when a mutt howled to his owners the base camp fell, a battle would soon begin. Seto raised an eyebrow when Daisuke came off a little cocky, not that it bothered him in the slightest, he had already started having fun, albeit too much with torturing a man to near death. "Right then, let's end this mess and take out these idiots. You do what you do best and I'll do what I do best and I'll try to cover you the best I can."

As the second wave was almost on top of them, Seto readied his Odachi before leading the charge into the frey.

  13. As his ally gave into the darkness, a corruption in his heart feeding the evil wolf he seemed to be engulfed by that which could only be described as pure blood lust. A faint smile passed as the male knew that look, it was what it was. Nothing more nothing less. Some folks found pleasure in helping people, some found pleasure in the taboo, others, well others found pleasure in becoming a god; even for a brief moment. Taking the life of another; to have such power. The ego and desire that doctors had but in reverse. He too felt that lust from time to time but this was not one of them. He heard a rumor about how costly death was; the penalty but didn't believe it. Yet when others spoke of how expensive it would be to fix he'd vow to never die. To do everything in his power to avoid such a fate only on the basis of wanting his gold for his needs and wants; not the systems way of extorting him yet again. A warm grin forming as he continued to channel magic through his hands, running out among the crowd he'd chant louder and faster. His skill building up as the male prepared for a more intensive spell; one which took time.

As he channeled his inner magic from the tent to outside the few who recognized his actions would do their best to defend him. A faint smile passing as guard after guard slammed their shields up or pierced a bandit, his spell nearly complete he'd slam his staff upon the ground Water bursting up from all over; hitting the spring beneath them water soon flooding the area His hands now swiftly turning he'd drag his staff along the waters edge to freeze the water around into ice; either capturing or making it harder to move. Falling to his knees he'd grasp his chest. It too a lot, it wasn't easy and he was nearly drained of mana as whole barely concoious he'd reach down for an elixir to help but paused to catch his breath.

The turn of the battle appeared to be in their favor but the game in deep danger; fast and hard the bandits would try to break free; this left the soldiers near him with minimal time to do anything raising a hand up with his elixir he'd chug it and give the samurai a thumbs up before sitting on his ass trying to catch his breath. All but one guard leaving him they'd begin their assault; screams an the scent of blood filling the air, a warm smile passing as he breathed a bit heavy the air fogging due to the extreme and sudden cold, "Thanks..." he'd say as the guard would protect him to the best of his ability. Meanwhile the few that weren't frozen or locked in place seemed to have been sliding a bout. A few slowly surrounding the samurai.

charging in two would attempt Close Quarters combat while a third fired away from behind in hopes to finish him off with cheap shots. After a few moments of the three on one combat the mage would raise to his feet and make his way towards the male, his hand raising he'd prepare to cast another spell. He was ready to strike one more time but would it be final move or was it best to sit this out. A guard rushing in would push the mage out the way of a rogue arrow and lay over him as the rest punctured him like a pin cushion; coughing up blood the mage seemed shocked. "Why..." he'd ask the NPC as he smiled, "You remind me of my son...tell...tell my wife I love her." he'd say the words falling heavy in his heart as he felt a slight bit of compassion for the male, the battle raging on.

  14. OOC: Sorry I didn't post this sooner, was irritated as hell earlier

Leading the initial charge with the guards right into the enemy was fierce almost scary for most but Seto stayed focused, he wasn't going to let his emotions get the best of him, he couldn't is life was at stake here and he wasn't going to allow himself to be killed by mere bandits. Blades clashed against blades, hammers, axes and maces also thrown into the mix only provided a truly epic battle that could not be described or contained. Fighting his hardest, Seto used his past training and experience to the best of his abilities this time but despite these bandits just being rough raddle, they had put a surprisingly well resistance, holding their hold against Seto and the guards before eventually going on the offensive, they outmanoeuvred Seto's left and right wings before surrounding him and attacking him and the guards with him at the center. Despite his skill, one by one the guards were killed off until only a bloodied Seto remained, in that moment something snapped within his mind. surrounded and outnumbered, the odds were even finally and Seto could get serious now. He decided it was time to unleash the beast from within and let it wreck havoc upon these fools who had for some reason or another thought they would be able to kill him, they were horribly mistaken. Dark energies began to seep from his eyes as a face of a twisted murderer took form on Seto's face. Laughing like a proper psychopath, Seto grin at the men before speaking in such a vile and cold tone towards.

"I can live with a warrior's death........but can you? I won't give you idiots the honors..."

Gripping his Odachi differently from before as if it was a never person, This Seto went on the offensively, dancing elegantly around the enemies with pinpoint precision of a sniper, dodging many attacks in multiple directions with only inches to spare. he met the movements of the enemies with his own superior speed. Using his blade like an extension of his arm, he would strike at the worst time for an enemy. Unlike Before This Seto would attain Victory through any means and would show no quarter to almost any enemy his blade meet. with a sudden Twitch of his left hand, the Odachi suddenly changed directions, striking across a bandit's face directly, slicing nearly his entire face as the blade made vertical from a horizontal recovery. Dodging another attack Seto kicked one in the crotch, knocking him off his guard. Seeing another opening he stabbed the man right in the crouch just so he could die slowly and painfully. Sensing another idiot behind him as they made too much noise, Retreating his blade back from the dead corpse, he twisted the hilt to have the blade change in his direction. Using his upper strength, he forced the blade through his left armpit to stab the idiot from behind, killing him immediately. Pulling the blade back quickly, he twisted the hilt again to have the blade face forward like it should before pulling off a quick horizontal strike on two more unexpecting fools as their skin was ripped into by Seto's blade. With more on the way, the next twenty minutes flew by as a few more bandit patrols came back to the bases, the only thing heard in those twenty minutes were the screams and begging of the dying and now dead by Seto but even he knew he could not kill them all. He had to bide his time, going on the defensive, going on a defensive stance, he moved his blade to match an enemy's attack's repeatedly, parrying what he could and if he couldn't he have to dodge, sometimes he have to do both which at this point just to make sure he wouldn't get hit and by this had taken a toll on his body. He refused to die, his very will wouldn't allow it, he held his blade up ready for the next attack........but it never came, instead only marching. Seto turned around where the bandits were, showing nearly a dozen of fresh guardsmen ready to join the fray. Before they could respond, the guardsmen charged and slaughtered the remaining bandits on the charge, leaving no survivors before moving up to aid the others. Tired beyond reason, Seto fell to the ground and dropped his Odachi out of pure exhaustion. He sighed as Seto returned to his normal state and took a quick break, he needed since wielding a two-handed weapon was hard work. He laid back against a damaged pole for a few minutes until it hit him like lightning, he had forgotten about Daisuke during the battle since he was so focused on eliminating the enemy. He knew he had to look for Daisuke but his body was too fatigued at the moment to be any help, he hoped his mage friend would alright without him.

  15. Preparing to strike; his spell disrupted as he was shoved out of the way; the small being falling on his back as the body fell over him; arrows filling it like a pin cushion. Eyes parting in shock, why. He was an NPC, he couldn't come back. Why waste his life on a pathetic excuse for a mage like himself? He could always come back but him. Confused his lips would part, the words that followed because you remind me of my son. Tell my family I love them had done it; he was broken. A sense of pain filled him; emotionally this was painful yet this was the heat of battle. Covered in blood he'd shift his gaze to the bandits around him laughing and mocking the poor man. Pushing him off his body he'd raise to his feet, a look of anger and disgust fell from his face as he raised his staff, "You...." was all he said before he channeled his magic like he had never before; raising his hands up chanting; emotions unsettling and taking over. As a powerful burst of water channeled up almost like a geyser beneath all those surrounding him. Lips remained moving as he then spun his staff one way then the other bodies falling all over as he snarled some pissed off his staff coming down hard as his chant continued; water once more flinging up and down before all at once he came down hard.

His staff slamming into the water as a large burst of electricity struck up from beneath his staff a heavy glow as the area lit up some with the blue tint water reflecting the electricity as multiple enemies seemed almost to fry some from the pure energy shocked through them. His body turning quick his lips never stopping chanting one after another; his mana dropping quickly he'd swiftly split the earth in half with a powerful yet fast lightning bolt striking the one bandit who mocked the man which soon sent a chain reaction between the lot of them, a grand majority of the enemy slaughtered or locked up stunned. Left many guards cheering as the small mage felt it all at once; the entirety of his mana used up; he was experiencing his first mind down; thud. His body collapsed beside the one who saved him; the battle raging on. Not long after with the arrival of more guards the battle was over; many dead and a few captured alive. Eyes opening slowly as a man appeared to be hovering over his body and he gave him a potion. Groggy he'd pour in an elixir to the mix as he slowly came too and held his head, "What happened." he'd ask the male laughing as he slapped his back.

Relax boy, you and your friend are heroes. You saved my platoon from death; we were out searching for my captured men; saw bandits running in fear; captured them slain some and made our way here. You two held off more than I'd expect with beaten up men. That last display of magic; powerful but stupid, what the hell were you thinking?

The male said scolding him as he turned, "I was saved by this guard. I can come back from the dead; I'm just a player, he was a NPC like you. He can not cheat death...see to it his wife knows she loved him and his kid is taken care of...that man is the true hero. I was just the mage who wasn't good enough to handle it on my own." he'd say handing the map over informing them of the general main base. "That's a map for the base, inside is a large chest of gold and wears stolen. I'd like for you to see to it any rewards I acquire for my actions go to this man's family. That is the least I can do for him saving my life." he'd say looking to the side annoyed; he hated to owe anyone anything. Let alone a life to some NPC. Wiping at his eye he'd get up slowly and use his staff to walk a bit, "I'm gonna find my team mate; I would like to know when his service is. If not aid in burying him." he said patting the guard on the shoulder as he made his way off to find the samurai.

"Hey, Seto...you aren't passing out on me are ya? We got training to do." he'd say grabbing the dropped blade as he sighed, "You fuck head, you can't let your blade touch the ground. Lucky it was on a dead person's body. Otherwise, it would be a grave dishonor, trust me I'm Japanese..." he said smiling as he sat down giving him the blade as he rest his head back looking up, "Is this what it is like for heroes...no wonder they don't take kindly to bad guys....this shit sucks. All this work and we still didn't level up." he said with a smirk, "Kicked ass tho, so we good." sighing, he'd relax sitting there waiting until he gained enough mana. Lord did he hate how tiresome mind downs were and how he never wanted that to happen again; he nearly could have died.
