Lets get down to business...

  1. As the small mage-like Faerin went about his way through the forest his eyes would soon meet with those of a large being. A faint smile passed as he placed his staff between them. Nervously chuckling the glowing red eyes seemed deeply troubled. As he shifted his gaze back to the beast he'd swallow hard and began to chant some before popping the wolf on the head a fair amount of electricity sent shocking through its body; but not entirely unsurprised. As he struck the beast the small humanoid man would have run as fast as his little legs would allow him to waddle. His staff pushing forth used like a walking stick as he made his way into the forest deeper; only to come across the river bed. Eyes turning back he'd slowly back into the water some.

The wolf now caught up would growl and bare his fangs, angry and ready to take revenge on the male. Yet as the water soon rose up to the midget like male's waist; standing only 4'1 he'd grin. The wolf running in. His staff springing forth as the water around him came in hard slamming into the now; in motion beast; no dodging while in the air. Hit hard the beast would fall back as the young mage then lifted his hand and laugh; causing the water to freeze over the wolf. Locking it in place. Moving back to the water swimming briefly he'd escape to the other side, the wolf injured and still chasing would follow suit. Outside of the water, he'd begin to chant one final time using his aeromancy to send a lightning bolt into the water. The chain reaction kicking in shocking all that was there; thanks to its conductivity. The beast yelping then slowly sinking beneath the water the male would grin. Not far off he'd hear a similar zapping sound. Was there a mage of sorts around?

Curious he'd slowly make his way in the direction fo the noise to better analyze it. Upon arrival, he'd take note of a larger blonde male, what was he up to and was the source of the noise. Looking to the beasts in the area, surround the male the young magician would fold his arms across his chest and lean against the tree watching the fight unfold, had the mall succeeded he'd be worth a chat, had he failed free stuff to claim his own. He saw no reason to interfere nor let his presence known. But should he ask for aid he'd give him some; but at a cost. A warm smile passed as he slowly lipped out his entrance.

Channeling magic into his hands preparing to gather water and have it come pouring down on the wolves and the male. Testing out a theory he had in relations to combinations of magic between players; assuming this male had any power at all. Slowly but surely the water would begin to fall around them as he gathered up as much as he could; perhaps causing a small bit of rain like a lights shower in that immediate area. A rather expensive and lengthy spell. He'd smile some as he finally made it known, "Hey there stranger, ready to end this game with the wolves?' he'd ask as he unleashed the water from above; drizzling the enemy with his movement.

  2. *EARLIER THIS EPISODE*

"Seriously? What is *with* these wolves?" Mahlthor exclaims, sliding behind a tree to gain a breath for a moment. First it was a few here and there, but as he had further explored into the forest, more and more wolves began to show themselves. Now, a veritable pack was hunting the man through the trees. "Like, seriously? The aggro on these things is crazy. What's their range, anyway?"

He doesn't stay put for long, rushing away from the tree and taking a long, winding path back in the direction toward the edge of the forest, back towards that outpost he had last taken rest at. Soon, he comes back to familiar territory . The wolves had really chased him far. Early on, they were not that big a challenge, but in these numbers...

Well, he would soon see. Skidding to a halt in a clearing, he takes a moment to catch his breath. Slowly approaching on the other side of the clearing, more wolves snarled, hunger in their eyes and deep growls in their throat.

"Fine then. Let's see about this!" He reaches forward, tapping into the aeromancer's skillset. His left fist begins to arc with electrical power... and then fizzles out. "What? No not... come on!"

Shaking his hand, he kicks out at the nearest wolf, his foot finding purchase across the beast's jaw. "Come ON!" He shouts at his fist, as the energy crackles back to life. "Now we're cooking!"

Before he can swing his punch however, a sudden downpour falls from the sky, soaking the man for the second time in recent memory. "What the..?" Turning, he notices the smaller man. "Oh, hey. Uhh, you mind holdin' on a moment? A little busy right now..."

  3. A faint smile passed as the kick occurred and he made himself known. "No, repeat after me. Tuono." he said as he raised his arms the male gathering energy around the tip of his staff; "Focus your energy towards the blade and let it flow through it, imagine a burst of energy, but controlled. You should see the sparks coming off your blade. Give them wolves a whack, it should pack quite the punch. Especially with the rain." He'd say as he then ran over and slid by the male covering his back, "You're a bit of an odd ball for a mage. He'd say his staff aiming forth touching the water that formed into a puddle near the wolves before him; a shock sent pulsing through them as he controlled the force to strike them hard; chaining about. Eyes turning back he'd smile as he tried to note how quick the male was, had he lacked the skill he'd mutter some quick words and tap his back "Electro Blitz..." words spoken as a small jolt of lightning would strike through the male's nerves almost like a boost; but passing up and out the blade; a simple and short term electrical coating to the sword.

All the mentioned skills and tricks minor simple skills he read about or gathered from various lore, books, and tales from NPC and or players. It was not uncommon to learn things of great importance or knowledge from others and those who had this knowledge would be superior at some point so point as they could harness and use it. The only limit at the moment his power; but with time, that would change. HIs eyes scanning about as he struck a few wolves and ran about the field some his staff raising up and spinning as he grinned, "Heilo Eis" he'd say as the water spiked up piercing the wolves behind him before he spun around to strike them with his staff. The ordeal with wolves was always tiresome. So trying to regain some mana he'd turn to the male, "Do what you can with those I've impaled with ice. Again, Tuono my good lad." He'd shout to the male as he held his staff before him as if to prepare for an incoming attack. Being a mage he was a bit frailer and lacking physically but each magical attack hit with quite a pack.

Grabbing the elixir he'd found earlier in his grinds he'd sip it to help restore some magic and slowly regenerate it. Eyes fixated upon the male he wanted to know just what and how his newfound student would handle this. Could he muster the skill, let alone use it without shocking himself. Did he have enough strength to finish off some of the wolves? All of this ran through his mind as he then thought of the next few plans. A faint smile passed as he raises his hand once more preparing to charge his next attack. All the while he kept aware of his barbarian-like friend and the fiendish wolves.

  4. "Ah... uh, thanks..." he says awkwardly as Daisuke slides up to cover his back. "TUONO!" he shouts, and the arcs begin anew, curling and dancing up not only his left fist, but his right now as well. the power courses through his muscles as well, and Mahlthor can feel the magical energies surging, begging for release.

"NOW we're talking!" He charges forward toward the nearest wolf, cocks back, and throws a heavy, right-handed haymaker that connects against the wolf's ribcage. A moment later, and his left fist thunders down into the side of the wolf's face. A second wolf growls, but before it can launch at Mahlthor, he instead is almost instantaneously on top of it, bringing both fists down together as if imitating a heavy warhammer.

A wild, almost beastial grin crosses the man's face. Another blow to his opponent...
... just as the electric energy trickles out. A bare knuckle punch lands on the wolf, good, but not good enough. The wolf, ready to pay back the blows in full, readies itself to launch at Mahlthor, just as ice rears up, piercing the wolf and holding it in place.

"Shit, man. Thanks for the save." He cocks back an arm. "Tuona!" he says, and his fist connects with the frozen wolf. "Wait, the hell? I said 'Tuona!' Wha- why isn't is working?" He looks back to Daisuke, before delivering a spinning heel kick to the wolf, finishing it off.

"It was Tuona, right?" A curious tilt of the head accompanies his question.

  5. As the fight went underway and the male had aided the other; it seemed to finish up quicker than he had imagined, his eyes shifting over towards the male he'd smile. His confusion was amusing yet his words were not. "Tuonooooooo, not Tuonaaaa. Swish and flick man, swish and flick." he'd say quoting an older move with a grin shrugging he'd pat him on the back and take a seat down on a nearby stump, "Now with the wolves out the way explain to me how a brute like beast such as yourself clearly designed for picking things up and putting them down learned to harness an ounce of magic." he'd say making mental notes; not running into many hybrids as he enjoyed taking information on people's characters trying to understand them. Lips parting he'd arch a brow and smile, "You look like a norse, were you inspired by Skyrim or something." Although he doubted the male appreciated classics it was possible.

As such he'd simply sit there analyzing the male as he remained silent for a bit giving him a chance to speak the male would take down his notes before rising to his feet and sighing, "Well to be blunt an honest your magic sucks. What was the name of the spell? I'll give you a hint, It isn't Tuonaaaaa.." competently he'd say sarcastically as he then told the boy to grab his sword and place it in the water. His hand touching the water would in turn shock the sword every time he failed, yet it would be minor as to not do significant damage. But should he get it competently the male would get the chance to shock him back, or so one might think? Upon either shocking him a few times or him nailing the command he'd use the same spell to counter it, "That was called a counter spell, depending on the force and amount of magic expended you can either negate, redirect or otherwise engulf your opponents magic, I negated it, try again." he'd say this time to try to deflect it last minute. Before once more nodding and asking for him to try again; assuming he could muster this much let alone succeed each time.

Ultimately the last effort would be that of the option to overpower and engulf the other's shocking him heavy. "If you can't match your opponent you'll have to out whit him, this in itself is a double-edged sword as it can be misleading; like me zapping you and then you over powering me because you trick me; either way those spells do double the damage at half the cost. Thanks to the added boost from your own spell. So with some basic concepts down. How about you show me your skill and get us food; I can't cook that well but using a bit of fish on a stick can't be too difficult right?" he'd say waving the male on to go fetch them food in the water using his new magic skills. Heading back to his stump he'd yawn and take a seat, tired yet at the same time relaxing to regain more of his mana.

  6. "Oh. 'Tuono.'" he repeats. "Tuono. O-no. Ohhh-noooo." Nodding satisfactorily, he grins. "Should be easy to remember. When in trouble, 'oh no!'" He waves his hand comically in the air, in a fake exclamation of being in danger.

Chuckling at his own joke, he lowers down his massive frame next to Daisuke. A large, meaty hand reaches up for the back of his head, idly scratching as the grin on his face shifts into look of sheepish confusion at his question. "Uhh, I dunno. I guess my creator just made me this way?" Dropping his hand, the cadence of his voice shifts just a little and the mage would get an idea that the man was speaking to him out of character. "I mean, I dunno. I just thought that punching things with magic fists sounded rather cool, you know? And fun. It's a fun archetype to play, if you ever get the chance."
He unsheathes a dull blade from his hip, which up to this point had remained firm in it's scabbard. "As cool as sword play is, it's never drawn me in all that much."

His face turns inwardly introspective. "I guess I should think up a good background for Mahlthor, shouldn't I?" He muses a moment, racking his brain for a story. Suddenly, he claps his fist into his hand with gusto. "Oh, I know! Err, wait, let me figure out how to explain it in character." Another moment ticks by before the man continues, this time back in character. "I dunno. It's something that's always been there. Blessed by the Elysid, I guess. Though my village always joked I've a bit of Storm Giant blood in me somewhere!" A jovial laugh follows. "Guess that would explain a lot, eh?"

As their conversation continues, and the mage informs Mahlthor of his professional opinion of the man''s magical skills, the sheepish smile returns to his face. "Yeah, I know it's a little... shall we say unrefined, I guess. Something I want to work on, though. One of the reasons I left my village and became an adventurer." As the mage continues and give him instructions, as odd as they seem, the man follows. He gently lowers the sword into the water, a sidelong look of curiosity thrown toward the mage.

The minutes roll by as Mahlthor does as instructed. It doesn't take too terribly long for the man to get the hang of the the ability to imbue his weapon with lightning. He drops down once more on a stone, shaking his head as the mage counter spells his magic, time and time again. "Alright, alright. I think I'm drained for the moment." He pulls open his status bar, and notes the low, slowly blinking meter. Then the command to go fetch some food comes.

"Whaaaa...? But you just made me spend it all training here? How do you expect me to be able to hunt anything without energy, man?" All the same, he stands up, heading off toward the forest edge. Man, what a pain, he thinks to himself, though, I gotta say, I did learn a good bit there.

  7. A faint smile passed as he got the fire going then turned to see a bunny grabbing out a carrot from his inventory he'd try to lure the bunny over. A faint smile passed as he picked it up and let it eat petting it and making it feel safe; normally he'd ignore them but in this case, he had a few things to do. But carrying the bunny he'd fill a small pot with water. Then toss in some veggies grabbing another carrot for the bunny. Upon it eating the other he'd look about to see if the male had even returned yet. If not he'd simply go about his business. Putting the pot and veggies over the fire he'd toss in a stone and let it cook a faint smile passed as he then noted a few of the spices about the area he'd seen. Mushrooms and Baisley some basic and generic thing.

Even some ginger root collecting it and only using a few bits here and there he'd have a decent soup going in the pot. Not using a menu to cook but doing it himself. Turning he'd soon look off to see the male return, "Any luck with food?" he asked curiously as he pets the rabbit a bit more. Feeding it he'd laugh some and hand the rabbit to the male, "That is my contribution to food along with the stone soup. Feel free to kill the rabbit and do whatever it is you barbarian giants do to cook it." he teased as he then walked over to the water and stuck his staff in forcing minimal magic to it to attract fish before speaking softly with a chat. Sending a pulse of electricity into the water he'd claim the fish floating at the top and gather them into his arms walking out. Walking over he'd smile dropping them on a flat stone then point to the sword, "You know how to gut and remove the bone or shall we just gut and cook them over the fire instead of in the soup?" he'd ask curiously.

Once either one had done what needed to be done he'd drop some of the fish into the stew "BAM!" mocking emerald a famous chef back in the day. Immediately after he took the other fish and start skewing the with the wooden sticks. A small sense of accomplishment was felt. As he finished setting up he'd mix the stew and twist the fish over the fire. "I don't eat meat, the rabbit is all yours. I could never eat something so cute and cuddly" He'd say messing the man completely bull shiting about not eating meat. A faint smile passed as he looked at him, "Although I might have a small bite just to try it, you're welcome to the fish and soup when it's done. Might not taste that great; I didn't choose to be a cook. So it's bland at best unless I burn it." he'd say laughing as he tried to make some small talk, despite his stomach growling every so often.

  8. Pushing through the brush, Mahlthor quietly mutters to himself. Where was he supposed to find food around here, anyway? He wasn't trained in hunting at all. Perhaps it's for the best, though, he tells himself. Not a bad skill to get at least a passing familiarity with....

Lost in his thoughts as he were, he almost missed the boar that suddenly had appeared before him. "Aha!" he exclaims, and launches himself at the boar. A loud, large, half flying man, however, distinctly lacks the element of surprise one would need to be successful at a hunt. With a loud THUMP he lands face first in the dirt, the boar running off into the brush. "Oh, no you don't..." he grits his teeth, dusts himself off, and chases after the animal.

A few minutes tick by as he tries to find, let alone capture, the boar, but to no avail. "Ah, screw it... maybe I can catch some fish or something." Turning on his heel, he heads back in the direction where he had left Daisuke. It takes him a little bit to find his bearing and the mage once more, but he does so successfully, eventually.

"Man, I tell you what... I think I need to go grinding up my hunting or something." Yeah, because it's totally because of the skill, and not the man's innate lack of proficiency in the area. "Though, you seem to have done well enough." He takes the rabbit from the mage, and, with a firm grip, ... well, we'll just leave it to the imagination. But Mahlthor takes care of the rabbit, prepping it for the meal. Once prepped, he brings it to the pot and drops it in, allowing it to begin stewing. "I have no idea how the game handles cooking, but that might take a little bit to get ready to eat." He says, nodding to the pot.

In the mean time, he settles down on a rock, and tilts a head curiously to Daisuke. "You don't eat meat? Why not? Cute and cuddly, and tasty but nuisance, are not mutually exclusive." He says with a grin.

  9. As he succeeded in his tasks he'd smile. But the slaying of the rabbit left him a bit, nauseous. He was not one for that sort of thing, his desire to kill his food was right up next to crafting his own gear and learning more on physical combat. Shaking his head he'd laugh, "Oh I do, just not that meat I kill myself, too...too personal to feed it and earn it's trust to betray it." he'd say stirring the soup. As he continued to occasionally stir the soup. The male would shift his gaze and look to the other. "So, once we are done here we can practice some more combat against some easier targets, then when our comfy we can move up to a bear," he said smiling, having done this sort of training before with another. His eyes alert noticed some shifting in the bushes as another rabbit appeared and he laughed, "No to eat, go ahead, slay it." he said teasing as he then opened his bag adding in some spices he'd found in prior missions or about the forest; such as mushrooms and such.

Leaving the menu and finishing up the meal he'd pull up the menu to eat the meal they cooked. The remainder of two bowls would be left as he began to eat; the taste mediocre at best but satisfying in comparison to some of the NPC foods he ate, but still not nearly as palatable in real life. Lips parting he'd speak, "Sorry for the lousy food, but it should help settle our hunger and thirst. Maybe even heal us a bit." he said laughing as he waited for the meal to finish his bowl before grabbing a second. Finishing he'd rub his belly and lay back lazily, "You want to jump off into some combat or lay back and relax some?" he asked one eye opened as he lazily relaxed.

    @Mahlthor Oakenheart

  10. Mahlthor nods toward Daisuke ."Understandable. Killing your own food isn't for everybody, I can respect that." He waits patiently for the mage to tend to the soup, though his belly rumbles a little louder than he would like. With a slightly shamed look on his face, he rubs the back of his idly. "Hehe... sorry about that. Guess I'm hungrier than I thought."

The two would talk some more about plans for once the soup was finished. "I'm game for whatever. Though, I gotta admit... boxing a bear sound like some fun to me!" He grins menacingly, though it wouldn't take much for Daisuke to get the feeling that the man was just as curious of his own skills as he was confident in them.

Within a short amount of time, time filled with the general small talk between the two men, the soup would be ready. Mahlthor takes a deep whiff in the air. "Mmm... that sure is smelling tasty. I'm sure it'll be good enough." He adds this last part with a sly smirk, clearly jesting with the mage. He gratefully takes a bowl himself, and tentatively bites into the first bit of it. "Hey now, this is pretty good!" He grins. "Definitely better than what I could do with those ingredients, anyway. At least for the time being." Bringing the bowl to his mouth, he tips it up, emptying it's contents into his open maw. "Ahh! That hit the spot, sure enough!" He exclaims, falling back on his own back to look skyward. "Mmm... maybe a little nap is in order. Definitely need to let that one digest. The bear can wait a little while, I think..." He says lazily.

  11. A faint smile passed as he heard the male's words and nodded, not everyone was as open or easy to kill their own foods, this was the very reason he lived the Otaku Life style. Take out and junk food. Occasional ramen and microwavable food. Yet too did his stomach growl after hearing his allies words. "Ha, contagious, best get eating soon." he'd say teasing as they had begun to cook their meal. Time passing it was done and they'd begin to eat, his tongue expelled from his mouth after the first bite he'd look over to his ally who was content with downing the passable food. Eating it with much dismay he'd shake his head, "You can have the rest. He had an odd sense of taste this guy, but better it not be wasted. He'd shrug as he finished his bowl and pat his stomach,

"That should do the trick. But yes, some meditation to regain my energy would be most beneficial," he said nodding as he soon took to a rock nearby and entered his meditative like state. Eyes closed he'd breathe in and out relaxing as his stomach settled and he'd wait for time to pass; the sounds of nature filling the air, warm and ever so loving breezes came rolling by. His eyes parting as he looked to the sky, although it was getting late, kind of. It was still a nice day out, no regrets for this NEET. He'd return to his quiet thoughts as he felt himself slowly becoming more energized.
