(Closed to Morothar Quest details) The edge of Brisshal forest towered before Ruben. The trees hovered over him. They were beautiful and lush. The sounds of the forest crept into his ears, but were drowned by the sound of small rivers rushing in the distance. It was a true sight to behold. He looked down where he held a light brown parchment in his hands, his eyes ticking from side to side as he read its contents. The quest itself didn't seem hard at all. It was a simple gathering quest. In fact, he remembered passing at least the moss on his first day. It nearly covered the bark of every tree in Brisshal. The sun was quickly fading. They had time to find the mushrooms, algae, and moss before the sun went down. After that they would have to wait until night to find the Nightbloom flowers. It was important to return them before sunrise. He had received a meeting location and a list of ingredients to find for the quest. Gorgi had paired him with another player to make things easier, and to be honest Ruben was nervous. He was shy and this was his first time grouping with a random player in Terrasphere. A sigh escape him and he rubbed the back of his neck anxiously. He had no idea who he was to be meeting with, but Ruben assumed they would be here any minute.
Having just started his vacation and finally gotten a chance to escape away from work he had the entire week to start gaming. This was the perfect timing for him considering his new hobby; Terrasphere. As such the male would take a break from his usual duties as a lawyer at his families law-firm. Lips curling as he finished his meal, heading into his room, jumping on the bed and placing on his VR Helmet he'd enter the game; once more appearing in the beginning forest. Familiar with it, he'd begin wandering around, looking to train some. Eyes scanning the area as he raised his bow, drawing an arrow. Looking to get some practice shots in anything he could his body would move slowly at first shooting at flying targets sitting in trees; hitting some missing others. It wouldn't be but a few minutes before he began to run and chased moving target's much faster and smaller like rabbits or foxes. As he continued to hunt and chase down the beasts he'd stumble across some human players. Attention shifting he'd watch as a male and his friends walked by dropping their coin purse. Yet passing treasure goblin appeared to find it. Bow raised he was ready to strike the creature and return the coin; yet to his surprise and own bias it didn't keep it. Running up behind it would tap the male with the bag in hand offering it back with it's barbaric and indistinguishable speech; grunting and trying to make them understand. Yet for some strange reason, they failed to comprehend and fell into the same racist and bias opinion he almost fell into. Turning around they'd snag the pouch back and begin mercilessly beating the poor creature. Bow still drawn an arrow would zoom past their face as to send off a warning. "What are you humans doing in my forest." he'd demand to know as he ran over and raised the second arrow the three grinning seemed to laugh as they weren't intimidated. Yet were dying for combat; as the events would unfold and combat ensued. Their tunes quickly changed. Arrows fired off into their knees as the bow itself slipped behind and against them his fighting style similar to that of the green around the final arrow drawn was left point blank at the male's throat, "Lethal shot mortal, do you value pride over your life...now you and these thugs leave now." He'd say as they ran off. The Goblin still hurt and injured sobbing as he walked over and reached down feeding it a potion as to try and heal it. A sad look in its eyes the poor creature winced as it slowly healed and looked up to the male; confused and raising it's hands as if afraid to be struck he'd sigh a sadness filling his heart, instead of being struck the beast would feel the warmth of the male's embrace followed by the sound of his beating heart as it looked up; tears in its eyes. A warm smile would pass as he parted his lips to speak, "Don't worry little buddy your safe now, I'll help you get back on your feet. When your feeling better you can leave." A strange noise would sound off as the male looked to the detailed message pop up; Treasure Goblin Mini Pet unlocked. A brow arched he'd look to the little guy and back up, "Oh no, you don't need to follow me. I'm fine with you going on your way. I was just trying to do the right thing, no need to fall into my service." he'd say as he opened the menu to release the pet but noticed it was soul bound. Sighing he'd accept the fate and welcome the pet to his team, "Well then little buddy you're going to need a name. How about Hobz" He'd inquire as it seemed to cheer happily. The duo would then begin walking only to have the tiny creature run off ahead or nearby and grab random items, each time coming back with something he sought out. Perhaps rare or common junk the first object. This one, in particular, had an odd name; Dwarf-stock Mushrooms. Eyes shifting about he'd look around trying to figure out where the goblin had found it. Leaning down he'd take it and happily pet his head scratching by his ear "Good boy Hobz, such a smart treasure goblin, these might be worth some coin, if not good eating. So show me where you found it." As he spoke the grunt would pass as he ran off towards the trees, turning to wave him onward. Following the duo would end up near some stumps. The area rather damp from rainfall the night before and a river not too far away that had over flooded weeks prior. Although it was littered with fallen leaves and tree limbs; so he didn't see the mushrooms right away. But the clever little bugger began to dig kicking up leaves and such finding the mushrooms. A small cluster remained; picking them he'd add them to his inventory. A total of three gathered as he then looked at the item reading into their information; used for cooking and alchemy. A warm smile passing as he looked to his partner to find more. "Alright let's use this skill of yours to find some more little buddy." the Goblin cheering excited would once more take off as he followed. Not too far off from their location unbeknownst to them was the male known as Ruben Day. @Ruben Day OOC: Setting up our chance to meet and work on this together. Morohtar is a loner and rarely visits the cities unless to turn in quests or gather supplies. So I think a random run in looking for similar items would merit his aid and agreement to the quest as well as give us extra posts to have some depth grow.
(@Morohtar That's fine either way. I'll back track a bit just to clarify more on it starting as a solo quest then.) The day had been very hot, but thankfully the thick vegetation of the forest had given Ruben some relief. It was beautiful the way the sun just barely squeezed through the tree tops. It came down like golden strings of a heavenly harp, touching the face of the boy like the warm hands of an angle. Everything in Terrasphere felt so real. At times it almost made him forget it was only a game. It had rained recently, the leaves weighed down with drips of dew, sinking lower and providing less crunch as they shifted under the weight of his feet. The fallen leaves and tree limbs covered everything. It acted as a roadway for the forest floor. Small puddles were scattered about and the twigs provided a safe crossing for the small bugs and animals. Ruben found it amazing how everything worked together in benefit. His close attention to detail and his love for nature and animals is what made Ruben want to be a beast tamer and a hunter. Unfortunately he had not yet had the chance to tame an animal, but his tracking skills and natural understanding of the forest would help greatly on this quest. He knew by heart that the mushrooms and moss would grow more abundant near the river. He would also find the Blackwater Algae floating there as well. His best chance would be to head in that direction. Listening for the sounds of rushing water, Ruben trudged through, stepping over the fallen obstacles. His first objective would be to find the water, but he was keeping an eye out for any bulbs that might resemble the mushrooms he needed. The water was just ahead and so far no luck on the mushrooms. Gorgi did say they would be more difficult to find. At the edge of the water the black algae floated just as the beat tamer had said. Ruben looked carefully around the water, watching for any movement. He saw nothing at the batch of algae that floated before him. He proceeded to pick up a handful and shove it in a bag given to him for the quest. It was sticky and thick, oozy and foul. The smell turned Ruben away. This wasn't quite enough, and unfortunately he would still need to gather more. He scanned the small river for any more of the Blackwater Algae. There was a small amount further down, but it was not enough for a handful. He proceeded towards it anyway. A small black frog sat on the edge of the water next to the algae. Ruben knew it had to be the one Gorgi had warned him not to touch. He picked up a stick and poked at it, the small black frog scattered away, leaving behind ripples in the water as he hid and then proceeded to gather about half a handful of the sticky algae. His hands were now covered in a black tar looking grime. He stood and looked at it with disgust before bending down to wash his hands in the river. The leaves scrunched nearby. Ruben turned his head to see a tall blonde male closing in to his position. A small treasure goblin followed closely next to him, eyes searching for drops of worth. Hmmm... Ruben's head cocked as he saw a light gray mushroom in the hands of the goblin. It handed it to its master and proceeded to lead him to its location. The teen recalled the ingredients listed on the letter from Gorgi. It was definitely the same type of mushroom he had been needing to find. He began to follow behind the male and the goblin. He stayed close enough to not lose sight, but he didn't want to follow too closely and then it only be awkward. If they weren't looking for the mushrooms, Ruben didn't want to start any unnecessary conversation. A good ways away the Goblin had dug deep in fallen leaves, revealing a cluster of mushrooms near the trunk of a tree. Ruben began to approach them, his weapons holstered and his hands in good view. He didn't want to startle them. Their had been word of Player Killers stalking the spawn zones; he didn't want any trouble. "Ermm...those mushrooms.." Ruben looked away, rubbing the back of his head shyly. "They're for a quest I need. If you're interested in helping me gather all of the materials, I'll split the reward with you." The boy paused, looking back to the blonde haired male for any reaction he could find. It wasn't like Ruben to party with someone, but as he had just found a decent sized cluster of the mushrooms, he honestly felt it would be less of a hassle to party up than to search for another cluster. Besides, the sun was setting fast. He didn't have a ton of time to waste before he would lose sight in the forest. The only thing he could easily find later would be the Nightbloom Flowers, and by then it would be too late to keep searching until morning for the others. "That is...if you want." The boy paused again, offering the male a look at the parchment with the specifics of the quest written on it.
As the Duo made their way closer to the river, he'd take note of the sound of frogs, arching a brow he'd feel a tug on his pants as his goblin once more found more mushrooms, "Look at you, my little truffle pig." he'd say laughing petting the goblins head as they gathered another two mushrooms. His total at six, his hands shifting into his inventory pulling out an apple; the goblin's favorite snack. Naturally, he'd go wild screaming and jumping about reaching for it, "Hey, hey hey..behave. Find me some more mushrooms and I'll give it to you. If we can get about twenty all together I'll give you another, but first, let's get those mushrooms." he'd say as the goblin ran off once more super quick. Following he'd realize he was now within visible range for the river; noting his goblin down by yet another stump not far from the water's edge. reaching there he'd see the male, "Hello." he said as his pet kicked up a mess revealing the mushrooms; trading the goblin to the creature as he began to devour the apple core included frantically eating at it. "Sorry about that, he's crazy for apples. They are his favorite. It's a pleasure to meet you human. My name is Morohtar, what is yours...what is that strange gunk in your hand is that algae? Are you some sort of Alchemist. Perhaps you'd be interested in these mushrooms I've collected." he said hearing the boy explain he'd like the mushrooms, "Oh. I wouldn't mind joining you on such an endeavor. What can you tell me about it? Is there a hard copy or list I can see. Hold on, let's do this properly, I'll send an invite and you share the quest" he said raising a hand to send a party invite. Upon completion and exception; the two would be at a party. Raising up his hand again he'd ask to share quests. Then his team mate could share the quest; the list and any information about it could be read then. Once confirmed he'd look at the list, Dwarf-Stock Mushrooms - 8/8 Nightbloom Flowers - 0/10 Applewood Moss - 0/5 handfuls Blackwater Algae - 3/3 handfuls Invite Morohtar has invited you to their party. Accept? Eying over the list he'd smile, "Looks like we have two out of the four groups. All we need is the flowers and some moss. I think I've seen some applewood, Moss. It's the red stuff on a lot of the trees; There was some nearby earlier." he said as he pats his Goblin, "Go get more mushrooms and meet me back here. Bring ten more or so and I'll give you an apple." he said nodding as the creature ran off. His eyes shifting to the tree nearby "Here gather double the algae and I'll get ten handfuls of apple moss. Two folks double the materials, worst case he pays you extra. But no loss there right?" he'd say laughing as he made his way about the trees searching for the moss. It wasn't a hard task, nor was it one he disliked, but it was a bit of a dirty one given how many pains in the ass bugs seemed to be around. His hands continuing to shift from bag to bag as he finished the required minimum of five handfuls. Yet as the plan was he'd gather a few more here and there. Running into a fox or two, eyes watching them playfully as the sun began to set, "Fuck, not much time left." he'd say trying to gather the rest of the moss. Before heading back to meet up with his Goblin and the boy. Arriving he'd arch a brow and rub the back of his head, "Sorry that took longer than I thought, but we still have those flowers to get. Sorry, that isn't going to be a problem, it's getting dark. Does this quest have a time limit?" he'd ask as he looked over the list once more his Goblin running back with the mushrooms and a flower in his hand, arching a brow he'd rub his head some, "Thanks for the mushrooms but what the hell is with that bud?" he'd ask as the goblin wiggled it at him, then the boy. As the sun set it began to glow some, the bud opening into a flower "Not sure what it is but it's pretty. Maybe I'll sell it in town." he'd say before looking at the list, "Wait a minute is this one of those Night Bloom flowers?" he asked curiously as he smiled taking it, "So one down and ten to go?" he said smiling. His hands patting the goblin, "Here another apple. Tell you what buddy." he said as it jumped about cheering eating it, "How about you show us where you got that flower and help us get more and I'll give you two apples?" he said smiling as he then saw the goblin jump up as he finished his apple and tugged on his pants asking them to follow him. Eyes scanning down to their list once more Dwarf-Stock Mushrooms - 16/8 Nightbloom Flowers - ??/10 Applewood Moss - 10/5 handfuls Blackwater Algae - ??/3 handfuls @Ruben Day
