Crime and the Criminals

  1. Dante shifted a bit in his sleep, noticing a dull pain in his back when he moved. He was no longer sleeping on a patch of grass, he was sleeping elsewhere. His eyes slowly drifted apart from the exhaustion he felt from exploring so much of the new world. He went from a starting area all the way to a small island. Everything about the game was beautiful until he opened his eyes to a fucking cell. It seemed the world was still very similar to real life, someone will kidnap your ass if you're stupid enough to lie anywhere. The NPCs were actually smarter than he thought as well, unless it was PCs that took him. On the bright side, he was too poor to actually be robbed of anything that he had on him. This was mostly due to the fact that he had nothing on him though.

The dull pain in his back would subside a bit when he sat upright to carefully examine his surroundings. He wasn't shackled to anything so that was good. They probably assumed he was too weak really do anything and they might be somewhat right. He had no weapon and he literally just started the game. A small sigh escaped him as his eyes averted to the other side of the room, it would seem that he wasn't alone. The individual that lay opposite to him seemed to be breathing so that was another plus. Maybe the man could help him in some way. Dante wasn't very trusting though, his mind began to race about the things this person could have done to end up in the cell with him. Was he a murderer, a thief, maybe even a rapist. Could someone even do that in a game like this? Hid thoughts would be interrupted when he heard the squeak of a creature nearby. Shifting his attention towards his left, a rat was gnawing on a small bone. Dante watched the rat for a moment and then quickly shot his hand forward to snatch the bone from it's tiny paws.

The rat would hiss at him from the sudden action that stole its only source of food. Dante stomped his left foot near the rat in an attempt to intimidate it. It seemed the rat wasn't so afraid but still scampered off anyways. It probably left in search for anything else that could be considered food to a rat. The bone was small and straight and could probably be a way out if they could sharpen it somehow. For the moment though, Dante would use it to stir the sleeping beauty awake: @Rein. He threw the bone at his partner in crime hoping to awaken him in case his stomp didn't already do so.

"Wake up. I need your help with getting out of here. I don't care what you did or didn't do, lets just try and help each other get out. Sounds like a mutually beneficial deal right? Right."

Dante didn't really care what his partner had to say, he was already thinking of how they could get out. Even if they did though he had no weapons to fight anyone and he didn't even know what they were up against.

    "The adventure begins I suppose."

OOC: Didn't know if you wanted to detail the cell or the landscape we're in so I left you to the creativity. If you don't want to just don't and I'll do it next post.

  2. It was not his choice to sleep alone in the fields of Druuk Island, even an idiot would know better. However, the innkeeper had decided to call the guards when he had tried to kill the man, ruining his chance for a peaceful night sleep. It was downright inconsiderate. Stil Rein couldn't help but laugh remembering their faces when he fried them in a fury of lightning and energy. They were likely still looking for him nearby, not that they'd ever find him. Laying back lazily beneath an apple tree Rein decided to fall asleep as images of those dead men danced around his head.

    .....

Rein snorted as his head deflected a bone disrupting his perfectly peaceful sleeping. It was apparently time to wake up. With a yawn Rein stood up stretching as an irritating man began babbling to him. Didn't he know that people need a few moments to wake up in the morning? Must be one of those players, always highly inconsiderate jackasses. Sitting down Rein began to assess his current situation. Where was he exactly? A jail cell? Stone floor? Check. Iron bars on the door? Check. Annoying roommate? Check. Yes, this was a prison cell, but which jail cell? Rein looked around at his surroundings noting the cell was about ten by ten feet wide with the only two exits being a barred window that was too small to crawl through and a large wooden door opposite of it. The door was made of a weaker type of lumber but was reinforced with iron bars around its perimeter. It had a small open window about five feet from the floor and a small metal door about four feet below that. It didn't take a genius to assume it was locked from the outside. Rein let out a small chuckle at their situation; it was quite amusing that they thought this little cell could hold him.

Still, he was tired; there was no reason to break out right away, after all, he had company to entertain! Or perhaps the company could entertain him, yes that sounds a bit more correct. Rein shot the man a weary smile, as he tried to recall what he had said to him as he awoke. What was it? Something about escaping? Makes sense. Rein's smile twisted upwards as he spoke to the man, "Soooooo, you want to get out huh?" Scooting his legs underneath himself, Rein leaned forward to the new player, "Sounds like fun, how would you like to accomplish that, and how can I help?"

  3. Finally, the man @Rein would get up from his beauty sleep. How nice of him to finally join the realm of the conscious. The man took a while before he spoke however. He took in the landscape that barred them from escape and merely turned to him with a shady smile that didn't convey a mutually beneficial vibe. Even the tone from the man made Dante weary of him, not in a fearful way but a cautious one.

"I already dislike you. Your face gives off the impression of a snake, something very distasteful. Regardless, yes I would like your help in getting out of here. I just started this game and I'm already stuck here in a fairly uncomfortable situation."

To include being stuck with you. Dante wouldn't say that aloud though, no need to further insult the man than he already did. There were only two exits, the wooden door and the window. On further inspection, it seemed the door would be locked on the outside and the bone would be useless. They wouldn't be using it to break out the jail cell but it could still be useful as some sort of makeshift shiv. He didn't know what they'd end up using to sharpen it with but he wasn't exactly thrown into jail very often either. Looking back at the man, he appeared to still be leaning forward in his creepy demeanor waiting for a response.

"I'm not sure, you seem to be very calm about this situation though so I'm sure you know some way of getting out."

The sly grin on the man's face told him numerous things about him already. Any further response from him would probably solidify what he already thought about the man.
