[INV;Guild] Fun at the Fishing Hole.

[INV;Guild] Fun at the Fishing Hole.

  1. It hadn't been long since the creation of the guild but Steele could already tell the guild was already due for another bonding exercise. So, he thought up another way for them to earn some gold and raise up the funds to expand upon the guild and themselves. He figured the hidden gem he had used for his own success should at the very least be shared with his guildmates as such he'd grin wide as he sent forth a simple message to his guild mates.

Hey, it's your favorite goofball folks. Time for a mandatory meeting and a bit of fun. You're all required to meet me at the marked Coordinates on your map. We will have two options for you all to participate in. So no moaning or groaning, those who don't show will pay the Hundred gold fine, so show up or else....

The first is a Fishing Tournament, winner of the event will get One hundred gold coins, Second wins Fifty Gold Coins and Third will net Twenty Five Gold Points. Of course, there is a catch, this isn't just about the biggest fish, but who can catch the most fish. So as such you'll all be tasked with keeping track of your total points. A big fish is worth Three Points, a medium fish is worth Two points and a small fish is worth One point. By the end of this event the person with the most points will be the victor and so on til three winners are chosen.

Now for the second event, if you're not into fishing, we have a miners challenge. There is a small cave nearby with some valuable stuff. So what you mine out is what your points are worth. Diamonds are worth Ten Points, Emeralds Eight Points Gold nuggets are worth Six Points, Metal ore is worth Four Points, Coal is worth Two Points. Again top prize for this event wins One hundred gold coins, Second wins Fifty Gold Coins and Third will net Twenty Five Gold Points.

As the male smiled as he posted his message he'd quickly cast out his line, waiting on some folks to show. His attention now focused on the waters before him. Once the others started to arrive he'd point to the fishing poles as well as the pick axes and carts. A faint smile passed as he turned a grin, only now to part his lips, "Oh, did I mention we get paid for all this stuff we are collecting; the fish and the gems. This is my own personal piece of heaven for gold grinding. It helped me earn the guild money over time. So don't think this is too back breaking for nothing, your getting paid for your fun. Aren't I clever...." he said with a laugh as his first bite came in, "Those not partaking can help keep score and simply chat, just know you'll be fine, despite showing up." he teased, having no real intentions to fine folks but just to get them to partake, there was no harm. Again he bought all the material needed and even helped rent the gear. All that was left was for the members to relax and have some good old competition based fun. His line getting a bit, he'd snag and reel in the first fish.

A faint smile passed as he cast back out, "That's one down and a dozen more to go..." he said confidently, "So...how has everyone been?" he'd ask his second fish already on the reel as he brought that one in too, a bit more fight, perhaps larger or perhaps he was just getting old. Either way, he'd keep at it for a bit, listening to banter, having baited his hook several more dozen times catching some losing others. None the less he was enjoying himself and hoped they were too. His arms cocking back he'd tug on the line, this one felt like it could be the one. The Game changer, "Come on baby, big points, big points. I want to win this one bad....don't be small. It feels like a big one, lots of fight in it, Oh god, I can see the shadow, it's coming closer...it's...." he'd say excitedly.

  2. The first thing that came to her senses as she begun to wake up was the familiar sound of a new notification. Raising her head from the bed she had been sleeping in she has begun to rub the exhaustion out of her eyes. The night before Augusta decided to rest without logging out as she had no classes the following day and would most likely spend the day playing. Placing her hand in front of her face, she formed it into a fist before she would quickly open it up once again. The familiar menu of the game appeared in front of her face as she saw the bright red 1 floating over the message icons. Opening the menu she noticed a message from Aaron, her new guild leader. I wonder what this is about. Her eyes scanned quickly across the message, skimming rather than reading, although it gave her a gist of what the subject had to offer. She chuckled slightly. Even if it were not mandatory chances were that she would show up. After all, she still desired to bond with her fellow guild members. The prize was also something that would catch her attention. Looking feebly at the amount of gold that currently rested in her possession, her lips curled into a slight frown, almost dissatisfied with herself. She would truly need the money at this point and if she weren't to attend the damage it would do to her currency count would be significant. The entire event would be a win win situation in her case, something Augusta was very content with. Scrolling down the message slightly, she noticed the map coordinates that were also marked. Yawning once more, the Faerin quickly dismissed the menu in her palm before she would gather all her meager belongings within her inventory and set out to the location marked on the map.

"Hey," She called out to @Aaron Steele once she had reached her destination, waving her hand high in the air. Eyes scanning her surroundings, she noticed that she was the first to arrive here. "Don't charge me that 100 gold fee, I'm here I'm here." She said with a joking smile as he pointed out the locations of the fishing poles. "Let me join in on that fishing action. Mining requires too much strength and stamina for me to handle. Plus it'll be more exciting to wrestle with a large fish than the discovery of a boring gold ore." Giving a slight chuckle once more, she began to test out the length of each pole. Each of them seemed rather large for her considering her size. While somewhat embarrassing, to see a pole that was nearly double her own size, she became satisfied as she found a pole that was just the right length for her. Lugging back her pole, she took a seat near the edge of the length. Casting the pole, the bobber made a slight splash of water before floating back to the top of the lake. Giving a slight sigh, Augusta found herself unable to stop moving around, eyes constantly darting back to the bobber to see if it had sunk before she issued a quiet complaint. "Geez, I wish fishing was faster. Then again mining would require me to wait as well, but also actively participate in harder work. This would be easier I guess than mining. But seriously, we have food little fishies. Do you not like food? Or should I put something else there?" Jealousy coursed through her mind as Augusta noticed Aaron fish up a fish. This entire process was taking too long! While the faerin knew she was being rather irrational due to the fact it hadn't even been three minutes since she cast her line, she simply was unable to wait any longer. The annoyance burned within her until she felt a bite. Immediately she leaped into action, grabbing onto the pole in an attempt to reel the fish in. It was difficult due to the strength of the fish but after a few moments of struggling against the animal, a fish appeared in front of her. "Nice catch Augusta," the words had flowed through her ears, almost as if someone else was complimenting her rather than those originating from her own mouth.

Casting her reel in once more, she listened to Aaron's question before answering it herself. "I'm fine Aaron, how about you? It's just nice to be relaxing rather than going out fighting monsters sometimes." Augusta smiled before pausing slightly to collect her thoughts, "I'll admit I prefer adventuring to this fishing contest but it's an easy way to earn money. I guess a break can be appreciated once in awhile. How's your real life?" She asked nonchalantly. The woman hadn't recalled if Aaron had spoken about what happened to him within the real world. "Have anything interesting happen recently?" Eyes traveling to the bobber once more, she shook her head as once again nothing had even attempted to take a bite. She gave a slight laugh as he noticed the shadow upon the lake. "Anyone up for a little mini competition in this well, fishing contest? Let's see how many points we can reel up in the span of say, oh how about five minutes?" The question was directed to no one in particular, but Augusta had hoped to have at least one member accept her competition. This would not only give her a goal, allowing her to be distracted from the boredom of waiting but also provide a little friendly rivalry in the process.

  3. Gwyn had only just logged in when the invitation went out and flopped back in the soft grasses where she'd logged out before. The shade of the tree cast down on her was a pleasant first sight and she simply took a moment to close her eyes and acclimate to the body just the slightest bit off. Sabine herself had spent all morning at an early physical therapy session and the frustrated energy had come with her through the link and settled with an annoying buzz like static in Gwyn's muscles. To move around but be so limited was torture for her and when she'd read the fishing bit she'd nearly lost it at the thought of how boring it would be. To go from sitting in and moving her leg around a bit in careful exercises to sitting and waiting to pull something out of the water for what could be forever? Ridiculous. She knew how to fish irl, but she didn't care to do it in a fantasy game or when she didn't need to eat while camping in the middle of nowhere. She skipped the rest of the first over and read the second challenge. The ranger had squinted at the words in consideration before sighing and hauling herself up.

Mining she could do. She wasn't a tank or a brawler, but she had muscle enough for three. Normally she'd be climbing rock walls, but she could tear them down just fine. Off it was to make a little cash, not get fined for sitting on her ass, and hopefully work out a bit of pent up energy.

She brought her bow up in the event of coming across anything on her travel to the coordinates and wasted time walking with a few basic stretches to get Gwyn as warmed up as Sabine. Wouldn't do to get jumped by aggroed enemies and still have the stiffness of the not-quite-sleep Gwyn had been in lingering around. Eventually she had made it and paused to look over the lake where she could already see a couple of the guild gathered. It looked like she was early since that wasn't even approaching the number on the guild's roster at present. It reminded Sabine in passing of a place in the midwest where her mother had been stationed. A river had cut through it and both the river and lake had offered the most beautiful rainbow trout that had in turn offered a hell of a fight in catching. It still wasn't an appealing enough of a task, for all the nostalgia.

The blonde human trotted down the low hill until she reached the shore and put away her bow as she called out to @Aaron Steele and @Augusta Akker. "Morning, folks. No fishing for me, I think I might crawl out my skin if I do. I'll mine." She lifted an arm to pat at the flexed muscle jokingly to make her point. She shook her head with a wry smile at the extra challenge Augusta had put forth. "I'll pass on the challenge and root for you against whoever takes you up on it, Miss." With that she fit moved toward the collection of picks and fishing rods, looking over the mining equipment with a critical eye. She didn't know anything about mining rocks, but smaller picks used in climbing gear was familiar enough for her to snatch them up without too much eyeing. They look serviceable after all.

Gwyn spun the tool in hand as she headed off to the nearby cave that had been mentioned, brushing her free hand against the cold rock of the entrance. The temperature of the warming sun outside couldn't reach in here. She shivered slightly, but knew that once she got starter mining she'd be thankful for the bite of chill in the air. The ranger intended to work up a sweat after all. "No work, no play, and all," she huffed out before setting into the jagged rock of the mine with the trusty pick. She claimed a section with rubble on the floor that might dissuade others, sure of her footwork, and slammed the pick into the higher walls that had been less worked. Being tall was a gift after a benefit after a blessing, time and time again. Gwyn fell into a smooth rhythm with the clang of metal on stone echoing down the long tunnels and rounded caverns. The acoustics in the cave sure were something and she looked forward to having some company to fill in the silence just a little bit more. She enjoyed roaming the wilds on her own, all quiet steps and lethal arrows, but it wasn't a chore to be around people. Most of the time.

The first few chunks of wall gave way beneath the strikes and tumbled with a loud clatter at her feet. Five down, all the rest to go.

  4. When @Augusta Akker arrived he'd open his menu and make note of it laughing, "You won't get you written down as here now. Welcome, grab a rod and join me, the others should be here soon." he'd say as he continued about his fishing. His warm nature inviting and simple. His goals were not that of what most guild leaders were. After all, he wanted to be a hero, helping the local businesses prosper like such would stimulate and regulate the economy some more; so essentially fishing here would earn them fish to sell. Then, in turn, give his members money, they'd spend it and it would make the world go round. All while benefiting and helping others; a hero's act. Perhaps just viewed at a smaller level. None the less he'd take note of his first catch, being a medium sized fish laughing he'd note that was worth a few gp with the stand; but watching Augusta complain then reel in her first catch he'd tease leaning over tickling at the fish, "Awww it's a cutie..." he'd say casting back out his line and preparing for the second that followed; another medium fish. Lips shifted to a grin as she soon began to real in her next catch; large. His face shifted from a grin to that of a serious one. In just one turn of the event, she went from losing to tied. "Son of a....that's a monster sized fish. Good job, little jealous tho." he'd say admitting it.

As time passed and some banter was exchanged, he'd nod his head, "Yeah, real life is chill, I've been keeping busy with the gym. Business has been well, I've met a few players from the game and what not. I planned on meeting more. Eventually, I'd love to have a giant meeting somewhere at a hotel in Boston at a set date months from now. It might be cool to eat and hang out in the real world, get to know each other there. I heard it is not uncommon for guilds to do such things. It might also be interesting to see, how folks react to one another. I am more or less the same in game and out, well not entirely. The game does limit one's size a bit more here." he said laughing as he remembered Alonso and nodded to himself. Yet her question about life and what was going on led to a bit of a blush, "Well, yeah. I finally got to meet Sera." he'd say with a grin, "She's someone I met here in Terrasphere, really beautiful, good hearted, nice body." he'd say pausing to chuckle some, "I don't know where we stand, it's complicated. I guess I stole her heart which belonged to another, but we've never done anything...so..but she feels conflicted. I told her how I felt, I been waiting on her to make us official. Last I knew she broke it off with the other person, but I still don't want to rush her into a relationship."

He'd say as he brought in another fish casting the line back out. This one quite the large one, "Hell yeah..." as the competition between them began he'd grin his line cast out and claiming one fish after another, The words of @Gwyn ap Herne becoming clear in the background, his menu opening between fish as he noted her presence. A faint smile passed as he looked over to her, "This is why there were two choices. Best of luck spelunking expedition. I'll send someone to join you as soon as more arrive, mining in a group can be more fun; more competitive." he'd tease as he reeled in yet another big fish, his total points at 13 currently. His hand raising past his mouth he'd boast, "THIRTEEN! Now, do you think I'm winning both the mini and current Miss Akker?" he'd say nudging @Augusta Akker teasing her. His line cast back out as he continued on his fishing. "So, Augusta, tell me about yourself. We didn't chat that much personally, we got a bit of alone time. Tell me, what your ambitions are. Are they the same in real life as they are in the game? What skills have you gained so far, any changes going on, maybe thoughts to share on your experience in Terrasphere? I know a lot of folks are struggling to earn gold for the upcoming guild mission, that's not the case for you, right? I know you're here for fun, but there must be some other goal you have as well." he said teasingly, with another playful nudge hoping to get her to loosen up.

After he'd ask a few invasive questions, he'd ask her one he was genuinely curious about, not many read the lore so he was curious how she felt. "Have you had a chance to chose a god yet? Tyl is nice if you are a paladin like myself or a fan of justice. His backstory hit home with the self-sacrifice for others. So, that was part of the reason I chose him." he'd say casting out and nailing another fish almost immediately, Then cast out a few more time missing some and catching others, on his fifth for said round he'd grin wide, "This is it, this guy right here, this will be my legendary catch of the day. Just you wait and see." he teased as he pulled the fish up and out to the surface.

  5. Zaos frowned slightly at the message in his in box. Show up or pay a fine? Was the guild leader serious? He had gotten the impression that the man was a bit of a goofball, to use Aaron's own words, but perhaps he had a backbone in him after all. Well, whatever. He had free time and the rewards sounded appealing. And if he didn't win, then he would consider the information gathered from the get together payment enough. Fishing or mining, though? He knew his pet would prefer the latter, but the goblin was safely tucked away in his inventory for the time being, Zaos having gotten tired of its constant babble. Perhaps he'd let it out later for some exercise. Fishing seemed more up he alley, so he decided to give it a shot as see what fish the game had.

He wasn't surprised to see several people already at the meeting spot. "Morning, folks," he greeted @Aaron Steele and @Augusta Akker easily, giving them a bright smile before looking over the selection of fishing rods. There was a good variety, so he chose one that looked suitable for a Faerin and settled on a rock near Aaron. "You're lucky it's the weekend and we can all come," he teased the guild leader, "Some of us have jobs or school, you know," Well, he didn't actually know aside from himself, but he would bet that other guild members had work or classes during the week.

Baiting his hook, he cast it and leaned back once the bobber had settled, watching the sun glint off of the water. Aaron was reeling the a fish, but nothing had tugged at his line yet. Ah, he just really didn't have any luck, did he? First it was the failed attempt to get the treasure chest on those shops, and now the fish weren't biting. Was there an item that increased luck? Probably. He might have to look into getting one, if only to see if it did anything. Finally a tug came on the line, and Zaos turned all of his attention towards reeling his catch in.

  6. When Rye received the message to come join her fellow guild-mates at a fishing hole in Adecus Forest, she nearly declined to go. However, once she saw that it was mandatory, she winced and felt a brief pang of guilt flash through her chest. The Guardians were some of the coolest people she had met by far, and they were close enough to Rye that she could actually call them friends. She chewed on her lips briefly, feeling a little reluctant to go hang out with them. Then she shrugged. Rye would probably have a ball of the time when she tried to fish.

Combined with the cat aspects of her form in Terrasphere, Rye hadn't been surprised to experience a particular love for fish and milk in-game. Weirdly, it had transferred over to the real world, as she was constantly experiencing a craving for that particular sustenance. Even thinking of it caused her stomach to clench, reminding Rye that she hadn't eaten yet that day. Blinking bright green eyes up at the sky, the felis had to shield them from the glare of the sun. Then she peered down at the message and followed its roots to the coordinates where Steele had told them to meet the group.

Staring incredulously at how close it was to her current position, she let a brief smirk curl at the corners of her lips. Oh, this was going to be fun. A trill of laughter escaped her, echoing against the hills like bells across from her camped cave in the Adecus Forest. At the moment, she honestly didn't care if she attracted any monsters. Looping her waist packs around her torso, she stuffed the remains of her simple breakfast into the bags and drew up her map. Inserting the coordinates into the map, she squinted at her current position and carefully memorized the route to the fishing hole.

Hmm... Taking a bite out of her apple, she could feel the thin crust of it crumple beneath her strong jaws. Almost immediately, the sticky (yet delicious) juice hit her tastebuds and gave her a rather pleased feeling. Glancing up at the sky, she considered the angle of the sun and tilted her head mildly. It would take her about twenty minutes to get to that particular spot, if not longer. So, she set out through the trees, absently picking out landmarks that would identify her way back to the small cave she had settled in. This was where she was staying recently, so she could fight her way through the various monsters around here.

Rye supposed she wasn't far from where she was supposed to be when she started to sing. "I~ Was the knight in shining armor in your moovie~" her voice usually had the range of a high to low alto."Put your lips and love the aftertaste now!~ I'm a ghost I call your name you look right through me~ You're the reason that I just can't concentrate~" Emerald green eyes twinkled as she came upon the group's general location. Now, where were they?

"I!~ I've been trying to fix my pride, but that thing's broken~ That thing's broken~" Her singing was challenging, lilting through the trees to let the others know that one of their members was relatively. "Lie! Lie, l-lie and try to hide know you know it~" Her eyes sifted through the underbrush, before she caught sight of something that she knew wasn't there naturally. Clambering up the tree, she paused in her singing to squint in concentration beneath her feet.

Then a brilliant grin illuminated her face, causing emerald orbs to glow with satisfaction and recognition. "That I'm at an all-time," she landed squarely on her feet, tail quivering behind her and her ears twitching eagerly. "Loww~" That was approximately when she stopped singing, acknowledging the group with a friendly smile. "Fishing, yeah?" When @Aaron Steele pointed to the fishing poles and mining instruments, Rye snagged one of the poles and wandered over to the others with a scrutinizing look. Then she sat next to Aaron with a shrug and sat the pole on her lap.

She would fish in a few moments. Rye just wanted to get comfortable for the moment so she could be prepared for fishing. Admittedly, she wasn't in it to win it. Rye went fishing enough in the real world to know it was an obsession of hers. It was so.... soothing, really. A contented smile played at the corners of her lips as she observed the others bantering and snagging their fish.

  7. Laughing as he reeled in one fish after another. First a medium sized one, then a large. Some time passing he'd hear the arrival of another member. Once more marking it down on his notes; "Morning @Zaos Rocyne, Pleasure to see you again. I am quite fruitful that it is the weekend, then again. Perhaps I'm just a man of wonder. It isn't too hard to assume that this would be the best time to get things rolling, especially when, it's free and comes with rewards. I know I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I'm far from the dulliest. To be fair though, perhaps it's not luck. But proper planning and serious thought that went into such an event. Although I may have discussed the concept with a few folks ahead of time. But that's not entirely the point. I understand you all have lives. I run a gym, not as easy as it sounds and very time-consuming. Besides fees are waivable" he'd say laughing as he reeled in another medium sized fish, casting back out not but a few moments later he'd real in another. "Well seems the fish are quite productive today, real cooperative. I'm sure we'll start making some real gold soon."

he'd say chuckling as he cast his line out for a fifth time; ending the cycle with a large fish a few minutes into their banter. A faint smile passed as he turned to the team; "Did I forget to mention these fishing spots get a small buff the larger the party is. The more fish will appear. So with our third here the wait time should cut down a bit." he'd say laughing some in triumph as he turned to cast his line out, watching the two cast and bring in the fish. He would look over to his catch and smile some. A total of 25 points thus far wasn't bad. Eyes shifting towards the new comer he'd chuckle, "Hey cool cat, nice pipes. Didn't know you could sing. That game related or carry over from the real world?" he'd ask teasingly to @Rye Emerson Before adjusting his attention to the group, "Grab a pole, join us. I'm sure this will only add to the bonus rate of catching. However, I wonder if there is any secret bonus you get as a Felis, I bet you are more inclined to catch medium sized fish or something." he said teasing hoping she might keep up the good mood and stay cheerful, it always warmed his heart to see a smile on folks face. It was a contagious thing, after all, he was now smiling even more.

As he continued with his banter, he'd cast out and reel in his line several more times one fish leading to another, before he knew it he had caught a few, lost even more and began to rub his head. "I feel I lose more fish than I catch, I don't see any quick time events, think it's the skill of fishing. I didn't see a mastery for it. Maybe it's the pole. I seriously doubt it's that I suck...then again." he'd say laughing some before noting the low amount of bait that remained,"Been a busy day so far, barely an hour has passed and we already need more bait."he'd say putting his road down and heading off to get the team some bait; "The fool fishes with his last worm, but there seems to be none left." he'd say using the new passphrase as he laughed when he received his goods. Putting down new variations of bait; worms, bait fish and guts. "Well there you go, change up the bait change up the catch." he'd say as he went to return to his pole which was wedged into a rock or was before it seemed to suddenly yank out and pull off into the water. "SHIT" he'd shout running over and jumping in after it. HIs head popping up to breath once he retrieved it. "Fucker...got away..."

He'd say laughing as he slowly swam back to shore and shook a bit to help remove some water. His lips parting he'd turn to the others, "So which one of you thinks they might want to check me for leeches?" he'd say jokingly before sitting down, "Although I doubt they exist here its the only thing that stops me from swimming in the game. I hate bugs, especially the parasitic ones." he'd say shivering as he rebaited his hook and cast it out once more the new cycle of fish had begun as he caught a few more here and there over the next half ten minutes; the boosted time for more members was starting to pay off. His lips curled into a grin as once more he was hit with a big bite and he seemed to hook it "Oh yeah baby, come to daddy, I can feel it now, this one, this one..it's probably just another medium but fuck it. Praise the gods, let Tyl show true justice today; I will claim victory over this fish.." he'd say fighting with it, reeling it in then letting some line loose to tire it out, "It's almost in...what is it?"

  8. Zaos hoisted his first successful catch with a smile, watching the way the sun reflected off of the fish's scales. He added it to his inventory and cast his line out again. He listened to @Aaron Steele ramble with mild interest. Well, their fearless leader could certainly talk. And he dropped a few interesting tidbits of information as well. Like him, Aaron ran his own workplace, although a gym and video game company was about as opposite as careers as you could get. The buff players got the more of them fished was very relevant to his interests, and Zaos hoped it would improve his luck.

As he fished, his sharp ears caught the sound of a voice in the distance, and he tilted his head; listening. He couldn't quite make out the words, but the singer was definitely coming closer. Had the guild acquired a bard since the first meeting? A pull on the line distracted him, and he spent the next several minutes hauling in various sizes of fish. The first two were a good size, but the rest were tiny. His bad luck looked like it was going to continue, buff be damned.

"Hello, Rye. Nice to see you again," Zaos said once his guildmate had settled down. "What have you been up to lately?" It wasn't all that long since they had first met, but she was one of the few players he knew by name so far, so he felt some form of companionship towards her. He was surprised that she had joined this particular guild considering her skillset, but he supposed she had her own reasons for it. He kept casting his line out each time he caught a fish, losing a few but being successful more often than not.

  9. As the male listened to the others he'd grin once more, casting out the line and reeling in his catches. The first few were big catches. Excited he'd been nailing them. One large after another; yet he'd grown a bit tired of the fights. His next to catches seemed to be of varying sizes but those worth noting a medium and small. Yet the fifth of that cycle was one of dismay, upon returning to get the bait he'd nearly lost his pole. Going in after it the pole was saved but the fish was not. A bit down he'd get a good bite; one worth noting. his excitement filling him as he bragged on about its strength and fight. Reeling in the rather large fish his count was up to fifteen total fish caught. Most of which were large or medium and a single was small. Proud of himself he'd sigh some and turn to the others, "How are you all fairing? I'm super excited, looks like as a guild we've made already a hundred or more gold coins. Proud of you all. Lets keep this up and by the days end we might just have enough saved up to get us some gear." he said with a hopeful cheer in his voice. His eyes once more returning to focus on the line he cast out. His eyes drifting to @Zaos Rocyne he'd not the male catching some pretty good game now; a few large and a medium,

"Way to go Zao, going to make me work for it now huh." he'd tease his chuckle echoing some as he arched a brow looking back to the cave entrance. "I wonder how @Gwyn ap Herne is doing. Surprised she is the only one mining right now. Matter of fact where is everyone else. It's bean over an hour, think they are coming?" he'd ask the group usure, yet hoping they were alright. "Maybe they are busy with life, either way I look forward to seeing who the victors will be for this tournament. Looks like Gwyn might win hers cuz no one is partaking..." he said teasing some as he cast his line out once more; hoping to snag a few bites. His eyes scanning about he'd look up to the sky, "It's a beautiful day huh. Almost perfect for fishing. I can't imagine a better way to spend a rainy afternoon in the real world. Definitely a mood changer." he'd say confidently as he began to get a bite; setting the hook he'd begin the age old cyle of reeling it in and adding it to his collection. Once more baiting his hook with worms, "perhaps I ought to try new bait out." he said casting his line out waiting a few minutes before reeling in the fish, "Eh, good enough I guess. Let's try the live bait. See if I can't nail a bigger fish with this."

He'd say hooking the shiner up as he cast his line out. The fish moving about slightly before all at once BAM! he was struck by a large hit. Setting the hook as he jerked back powerfully he'd seemed to nail a fish. Feeling the line take off he'd release the drag some as he let it run, keeping some tension so it wasn't able to spit the hook. "Here we go, nice and easy. That a girl... come to daddy." he'd say grinning some before remembers that he had packed an ice chest of sorts. "Oh, hey if yall get thirsty there is a cooking pot filled with ice; grab a drink. I didn't have time for sandwiches
nor the skill honestly but yall are free to chip in or message someone to bring food." he said laughing as the fish slowly but surely came in, his eyes wide as he was more than pleased with this fight, despite its size, "Now that was as close to a real fishing experience I've had all day. Love the way this works, far better then a quick time event. "he'd teased. Casting out again waiting for his next catch, lips parting to converse briefly with his peers, "So, who here is comfortable enough sharing their builds so far. Me I'm a paladin full on."

He said pausing briefly to continue"I have 1 handed slash, Shields, Heavy Armor, Berserk and Illumancy. I plan to increase my Illumancy more so that I can properly keep you guys alive, but do try and grab some health pots too." he said jokingly, "I'm not that good yet." he'd say admitting his limitations as he turned to hear what others might have to say, hoping this might lead to some build chatter or thoughts on improving themselves if not get a feel for what roles might be needed come the world boss or mission time.

  10. Zaos listened as Aaron went on about gear and how the guild was doing so far. For a small, newly-formed guild they seemed to be off to a good start, but he had already heard of several other guilds that were forming. Perhaps they would end up in a rivalry with one or all of them. Zaos pressed his lips together, displeased at the thought. While he rather liked The Heroes of Falderen, he wasn't committed to spending all of his time helping the guild. It was a nice side-project, nothing more. He was here to do research to benefit his own game, not compete with other players. Still, Aaron was right - he had to invest in gear at some point, and he should probably do that sooner rather than later.

"Give them time, people may still be asleep. It is the weekend after all," he said in response to @Aaron Steele wondering where the other guild members. "A couple more people here and in the mine, and it'll be a real competition." Zaos threw out the line again, having gotten several good catches in a row. He watched Aaron fight to reel a particularly large fish in, noting that he seemed to enjoy the game of slowly conquering the aquatic creature. The Faerin was just happy no fish had pulled him into the water yet, given that some of them were nearly half his size.

As the conversation turned to their character builds, Zaos nodded along to what the guild leader rattled off. A paladin seemed like a natural fit for him, and it sounded like he had the core foundations down for the build. Reeling in another fish, he said, "As I said at the meeting, I'm a support player. I have Illumancy as well, along with Magical Tools and Magecraft. I haven't decided with my fourth mastery will be, but it'll probably be one of the domestic masteries. I'm not a big fan of fighting unless I absolutely must, so I doubt I'll pick anything combat-related."

  11. Aaron's message was filled with a bunch of stuff. Competition information, explanations of penalties for not arriving, so on and so forth. A whole lot of things Akino didn't need to read just yet. After all, he planned on showing up, and that was what mattered. He could just as easily join the competition and brush up on the rules once he arrived. More importantly, he wanted to contribute in some way. After all, he was to be the Event Coordinator or whatever his title was. This meant he should at least appear to put work in. Shutting the informative, wordy message, he considered how he might help. 'The easiest thing to do would bring some food on over. Still, they're fishing... Wouldn't they just cook their catch? Knowing Aaron, he's going to sell them back to the NPCs or something, to get a good cash in. I should probably bring something just in case. Plus, it'll take me a while to get there anyhow.' Before he had shut the message, the map location had come up. Being all the way out in Stokbon, still crashing near Shifu Dempsey, the felis would have a fair bit of footwork before he'd reach them. Better to take the few moments to show some consideration. Popping up out of his bed and slipping out the window, he quickly scaled down the sills and brickwork down to the street, agile as a cat. Ju-ju, his faithful little panda-pup, followed along in his wake, as deft as he for one with no fingers.

'So, what should I grab, I wonder? Meat, buns? Veggies? What if someone is a vegetarian. Are there allergies in this game? I doubt it. Alright, maybe something basic, like fruit? No no, they would ripen in the sun. Hmmm...' Giving it a fair bit of consideration, the felis wandered down Baker's Street. The narrow way had more than just bakers of course, it was just a convenient name for a food oriented marketway. Little vending stalls were littered along the way, set up right in front of a number of storefronts; above most of them the fabric of brightly coloured overhangs defended their goods from the sunshine, which was beaming fiercely today. The vendors weren't obnoxious, they gave enough room for traffic behind their stalls, so that people could come and go from the various restaurants, bakeries and butchers. In the air, thyme and rosemary climbed into his sensitive nostrils, causing his stomach to growl with hunger. Mayhaps just some plain bread would serve? Ju-ju, meanwhile, was snatching things right out from under the noses of the vendors; already Akino saw his eat a tart, a sausage, and a sweet bon.

"In the end, I just ended up buying a bit of everything... I should've done that in the first place, instead of spending so much time wandering 'bout trying to figure it out... Man, being indecisive is a pain."
Sighing audibly, he rolled his shoulder, shifting the several bags he carried now. Each was packed tight with varied foodstuffs, and the smell of it all was causing the felis to fantasize. They weighed heavy on his back, though not in a physical way. Ju-ju rode along with the food, happy to not walk the long miles, lucky little beastie.

"Not like anything is really stopping me from eating a roll... It wouldn't be right though. The others are waiting, more likely than not. It's only right that I wait to get the food I bought for them to them. Maker does it smell good though!"
Sighing again, he pulled open the map and checked his location. Almost to the fishin' hole Aaron had mentioned. Akino considered who might be there already, but guessed that it was still early enough for only a few to have arrived. He hoped so, at least; he really didn't want to be one of the last to show up. Not that he planned on winning the competition, just seemed like it wouldn't be right; he kicked his pace up a step.

Finally arriving, he'd spot and label each of his guildmates before he reached their position. If he could say he did anything right, he was correct in memorizing all of his guildmates' names. Augusta, Rye, and Zaos all sat by the watering hole with Aaron, chatting it up pleasantly. He felt a wave of relief overtake him, and he looked back at the panda pom on his back, smiling sheepishly.

"We aren't too late it seems. Not too many here yet. Hope they like what we got 'em."
The little fellow gave a bit of yelp in agreement, before climbing out of his ride to mount Akino's shoulder, holding his faux-bamboo with two paws. Smiling at the sight, then turning to smile at his friends' happy voices, the felis began to jog over. Upon arrival, he'd call out, dropping the food by a pot of what he assumed was a beverage of some kind, and walking over the pile of gear.

"Yo, how's it hangin' guys? Zaos, Augusta, Rye! Nice to see you lot again. And of course, hey there Boss Man! Hope y'all are swell. Catch anything worth tellin'?"
Spotting some picks, his golden eyes would brighten significantly. There was mining?! Oh Maker, now he was real excited. There were few things Akino loved as much as tea in this world, and minerals were one of them. Crystals, gems, metals, it was all very rad. Hefting a mighty fine looking pickax up over his shoulder, he'd step over to the water for a moment, so as to talk with his friends. @Zaos Rocyne @Augusta Akker @Rye Emerson @Aaron Steele

"Before I forget, I grabbed us some food before I came over. 'Bout anything you can think of. Meats, buns, buns with meat, vegetables, noodles, candy, and whole mess of other stuff. I got a few drinks, beers included, didn't know if there were drinks here already. Welp, I guess I better not waste any time! I'm sure there's someone down there already kickin' my buns. Enjoy your fish! Rye, if you got an extra fish or two when you're through, toss a few a felis' way. I'll pay ya back, promise! Welp, I'm off! Taking some of this food down into the caves with me! See y'all in a bit!"

With that, the marked fellow was off, speeding down into the caves with his tail swaying behind him, clearly ecstatic over getting to dig up some stones. Ju-ju followed in his wake, and then raced on down into the hole, as eager as Akino apparently. Stepping within, he took a deep breath in through his nostrils, smelling that sweet smell a damp cave makes. Maker it was refreshing! No need being careful navigating his way below, he had he night vision was sharp as a cat's, for obvious reasons! He could see it all, including his fellow tamer, Gwyn. She was working hard already, to no surprise, so he'd figure to do what was a kind act.

"Oi, Gwyn! Hope you don't mind if I keep you company down here. I brought us some food too. Hope you like food." He added the last bit on with a chuckle, watching as Ju-ju's form raced to her, pawing playfully at likely well-muscled limbs. Clearly the little fellow didn't mind the dark, or the noises of mining. Not wasting a moment, the young man knew he'd have to work hard to keep up with the blonde, Akino took his ax to the wall immediately, his light-sensitive eyes already picking out the gleam of a vein peering out at him. The sound of the work was loud, but not loud enough to drown out a potential response from the woman; though, as he found his rhythm, the redhead would begin to whistle in a skilled, yet soft tone. @Gwyn ap Herne

  12. As his eyes shifted the male would smile, "True, although it's nearly two in the game and that's around ten am on the west coast at most. So by four, I'd expect most of those who plan to log on today to arrive. Although I'm not sure how many members are even able to play on the weekends. None the less I consider this turn out a good start." he'd say nodding, "Yes I agree, a few more maybe a good half a dozen at each event might be the best outcome for us." he'd say one more eye shifting to the amount of fish caught he'd grin, "There is probably a couple hundred coins worth of gold here." he'd point out hoping that might encourage the team to try and catch more. As the male noted the other reel in the smallest fish he ever saw he'd laugh, "Jesus Zaos, that has to be the smallest bait fish I've ever seen..." he'd tease as he railed in his fish not much bigger, "Ehhh guess I'm one to talk." he'd say as he saw his team mate real in his next fish, eyes widening he'd nearly shit himself, "Where the fuck in this pond did that monster sleep, let alone eat... bet the fish population triples now. Good lord is that a big fish." he said some shaking his head scratching at it some as he got a bite and reeled it in with ease, another small fish. Sighing he'd look to the monster fish sitting next to his ally, If he wasn't careful he might lose this contest.

"Well, guess my lucks turning around." he'd boast catching two more medium sized fish now, His eyes lighting up as if to pray for a bigger one, "FINALLY" he'd shout as the larger fish appeared. HIs points most likely behind the other, but he'd catch up sooner or later. Lips parting once more he'd look over to the new comer @Akino Kokoro Ame a slightly sour face was made as he pouted some, "Ask the fishing master Zaos nailed the largest fucking thing in the lake..." he'd say chuckling some as he nodded, "Yeah, we are having some fun, see you brought stuff with you, what you get?" he'd ask as his comrade explained. "Sweet." he'd say putting his fishing pole down so that he could go investigate the food situation. Rummaging through the options he'd take a few moments before making a quick sandwich of the meat and bread before he slowly walked over to the cookingpot to grab a cold drink. Hearing the males pun he'd laugh heavily. His bottom resting firmly on a log before he shifted his attention to the rest of them, "Small break to eat or do yall want me to get back to kicking some major ass?" he said teasingly before finishing up his sandwich and downing the drink. Grabbing one extra a short time before leaving once more casting his line out and holding the drink.

Lips parting he'd smile and smile once more, "Time to test my luck and catch the next sleeping monster in this lake, otherwise I might have to surrender and go try my luck splunking" he'd tease before looking to the others, "So, for the most part, I've found that our guild is quite diverse. Most of the crafters I spoke to seem to be well spread out. We do need a weaver and a leatherworker so that is worth noting. I think though, it might be best to find a crafter who could do it both. Outside of this, it seems we are all pretty diverse. A few healers, a few magical nukes. A decent amount of hunters and a tank or two." he said smiling before he suddenly felt a bite. Catching yet another fish he'd grin not much longer and another. Then another and another, having ended one cycle and already been part way through the next he was excited to have claimed the sudden shift in his current one. Having nailed a few good sized fish he was content with the matter. "So, @Augusta Akker Tell me about yourself, @Zaos Rocyne already shared about his skills, what are yours. What is it you seek to gain from the guild guys. I mean, really what is it that you desire most or expect to earn while with the guild. I know some want adventures, others want glory. I've had a few say they just wanted to be around cool people and make friends. Each reason for being a hero is different, each reason to stay is just the same. We all have motivations, I just wonder what seems to be the most common one among us." he said with his minor inquary.

  13. Gwyn laid into the flanks of the mine with her pick, the heavy strikes clearing off sheets of useless rock to find what might be hidden below. Eventually she would see to it that even the higher levels of the cavern's tunnels would match the dug in sides. She could more than easily reach and found herself enjoying the work. Already the strain started up a faint burn in her muscles as she carried on the warming up she had done just in traveling to their little meet up.

The first couple portions of rock had clattered down and she had paused, leaning her pick up against the wall. With the cart nearby she went through her particular rewards to pick out the suitable pieces and add them to her personal cart. She kept note of her score as she rifled through them. Two chunks of coal had been knocked free and she tossed them dismissively into the cart. They were what? Only two points a piece? The rest of her haul certainly made up for it. Two emeralds gleamed in the dark and she'd laughed as she picked them out and held them in front of her. "Hey sweets, they look just like your pretty green eyes!" She whistled lowly to her pet to grab his attention. The small bunny's head poked out from his usual nest under her chest armor and immediately shot back down behind the leather with a fright. "Ah, fair enough. They do look like eyes. Sorry Diop," she cooed and tossed the emeralds in the cart to free a hand long enough to pet the poor thing. It soothed easily under her touch and she bent down to fetch the last of what she'd seen fall.

The diamond was gorgeous, uncut and unpolished, but beautiful all the more for it. She didn't care for pretty things cut into facets and set in soft metals. As she dropped the ten point item in the cart she caught another entering the cave. She grabbed the pick in one hand as he spoke and swung it up to rest over her shoulder with an easy grin. "Not at all. I was beginning to think the guild might be allergic to hard work," she quipped back at him before moving over to grab a tougher piece of dried meat from the pile. It was probably meant for a sandwich or stew given the grind necessary to bite through a piece, but that'd do perfect. One cleaned quick when climbing that if you needed something to do while on the long haul to go for something one could multitask with. And something that wouldn't distract you from checking your holds and keeping your eyes on the prize above. Something like the jerky to chew on would be perfect to tide her over as they toiled.

As she tucked half the cut of jerky between her morals and moved to go fetch her tools, the Felis' pet loped over down toward her feet and she tsked, reaching down to set him a little to the side. "Now, now, we need one of those beware falling rock signs for these little guys. Guess you can't tuck yours away and have him out at the same time though. Here buddy," she spoke low and slightly off around the food pressed to one cheek as she picked him up to put him gently on top of a larger slab of rock in the middle of the area. "There. Now you can see all your kingdom." She spared the panda colored pet a pat on the head and returned to her spot. "I'd leave you a play buddy, but Diop isn't very good away from me, the poor thing."

The huntresses returned to the interior of the earth around them and her free hand skated slowly over the cold surface as sharp blue eyes tried to pinpoint likely veins or deposits. Some of the grit gave away under her touch and coated her hand and gloves in a fine layer of powder that had been knocked loose when the rocks were mined. She spotted a fine enough place and rubbed her fingers against her palm to clear away some of the dirt. With that she reeled the pick forward and another sheet of rock fell. "Tell me, Akino. What do you think of this guild so far? I keep hearing your name a fair bit so I figure you've got your hands in a few things here and there."

  14. Fish fry for supper tonight!~ Then she answered what @Aaron Steele had asked her. Did her singing come from the game, or in the real world? "Ah. It carried over," she admitted sheepishly. "I've been in such a good mood lately that I couldn't help myself." Rye leered teasingly at the other founder, emerald eyes sparkling happily. "I've always enjoyed fishing though; the thrill of actually landing a catch? It's quite addicting! Not to mention being a felis in-game kind of introduced my taste to fish and milk. That particular part bled over to the real world."

Admittedly, Rye wasn't expecting to get any fish sometime soon. Therefore, it was quite the shock when her line received a rather violent tug. The felis's eyes widened in excitement, tail twitching behind her and spasming with her innate glee. "I got something!" her voice cracked in the rising excitement inside of her. Jerking the line heavily, she reeled it in with all the eagerness of a puppy. Goodness, she had forgotten how much she was easily obsessed with this kind of thing! A rare wide grin was on her face, emerald eyes sparkling with the glee of the chase.

Slowly, she lifted the line out of the water to retrieve her first fish: a particularly large one that was wriggling with life and fright. Flipping the fish to her side and slamming her palm heavily into its' gills, she replaced the bait and flung the line back into the water. It was so easy to be content with what was going around her. The new guild bantering about and mocking their catches, but there was something serious inserted every now and then. As she reeled in another catch, her excitement no bigger than when she caught her first, she placed the small catch next to the large one.

Casting a friendly smile over to Zaos, she flicked her ears towards him with a slightly interested expression. "Hello, Zaos," she greeted @Zaos Rocyne in a rather open manner, emerald eyes glinting curiously. "I've been well, actually. Lurking around Stokbon, mostly, but I've ground some gold every now and then." It wasn't easy being a newbie to the game, especially since all of the other ones liked to kill the monsters she was after before she was able to. There were actually a few times where she killed creatures, but she always felt guilty after it. Throwing the line back in, she was surprised when she got an answering tug only seconds later. Reeling it towards her, Rye plucked the unidentified medium fish and repeated her first actions so that it stayed dead.

At Aaron Steele asking about the various builds people had, Rye tilted her head slightly and wondered if she should share hers. Probably. Lips twitching, she replaced the bait and flung the line into the water. After Aaron said he was a Paladin type player, Zaos said that he relied mostly on Magecraft, Illumancy, and Magical Tools. Tilting her head, she waited until after Augusta replied to him before speaking up. "I chose Rogue, Beast Tamer, and Dual-wielding at character creation." Patiently reeling in at the slight tug of her line, she blinked in bewilderment when she saw that TWO fish had clung to her line.

"What the hell?" she inquired, tone incredulous as she drew in the line over land. "When does that even happen?" Shaking her head, Rye repeated her actions and gave the others a vaguely curious look. "What do I gain from the guild..." What did she gain from the guild? Admittedly, Rye had a streak of independence a mile wide, but she had been getting slightly lonely within the first few days of the game. Not a lot of people had grouped up with, and the two she had met upon spawning had left swiftly. "The feeling of companionship." she produced hollowly. Even in the real world, Rye was lonely. "I don't have a lot of friends, even in real life."

  15. "Well, I could start by saying that I am not typically one for groups. I love people, and I love communication, but I've often felt as if others did not really 'get' me, per say. When I joined the game, I never planned on joining a guild too. It was more likely that I would find a close group of companions and what not. But when Aaron explained to me his dreams for the guild... It sounded almost too good to be true. People don't typically devote all their time to helping others, ya know?" As he spoke, he sifted through the fallen minerals. Two pieces of coal, two gold bits, and an emerald! The emerald was his most celebrated find, green was one of his favourite colours. 24 points so far! Tossing them into his own mining cart, he spoke on, his tone deeply and earnest, bouncing off the cave walls.

"So, when I saw how true he was to helping people, players and non-players alike, it hit deep. I get that it might just be a game to some people, but it isn't that way to me. This place is another world, another universe. Albeit a fabricated one, what you do here still defines who you are back home. People come and commit evils, or so I hear. Others come aspiring to do good. But few devote themselves like Steele has. He's a truly good person, who cares about people, all people, and wants to see them as happy as he is. Sometimes I wonder if we are lost kin, I've not met many folks like him. It was really the fact that he was so true to the goals of doing good that convinced me to sign up. Now, I still don't really get this universe, and I am fairly new to it as well. So for one as noble as him to see something in a newb like me, to believe that I could do good work as a member of his council... It meant a lot. I couldn't deny that I wanted to bring his dreams into both the worlds I loved- And now that I'm hear, I realize how wrong I was. Everyone wants to do good, it is just whether or not someone believes that they have the power to. Sure, not everyone joined up to help. Some thought it would further their own goals, I'd bet. But that belief that they can do good? That they can change the world? It's infectious. It creeps into your heart slowly, and begins to crack away the wall of stone, none too different from what we are doing now. Belief is as strong a force as they come." He'd gone back to swinging, and at the comparison to their current task at hand, a large sheet of loose mica would collapse to his feet, as if for emphasis. The felis couldn't help himself, he wore a dreamer's grin.

"This world is almost as large as the old one, and it has a lot of work to be done in it. So to find a group of people who's devotion isn't just to themselves, even by a fraction? It is what's needed. Easy to lose your way when you can excuse your acts as 'just a game.' Seeing y'all out there, doing what is write and living a good life? That's going to give them villains something to think over. Honestly, you are all my heroes. In your own, unique ways. And maybe, just maybe, that'll bleed out into the real world some. I'm hopin' that each time we log off, we bring a piece of the dream, our dream, the Guild's Dream, with us. So yeah, that's what I think our guild, so far. It's what Ju-ju thinks too." The panda pom would give a confirmation yelp, and Akino would laugh for a good moment or two. Talking about something that gave him such hope really lifted his spirits.

"Hope you don't mind me preachin' about it some." Gwyn didn't have to look back to know the man was smilin' at her as he stooped to gather more of his discoveries.
