Alpha looked over to where Mortemer had wandered and, much to her pleasant surprise, the lion cub was cuddled up next to Lai. "Hello there," she crouched down, waving softly. Unfortunately, crouching down left her smaller than Luna the rabbit and she was forced to stand back up, straight and tall, for her own dignity. Why did she choose to be this small again? She's sure that a couple of pranks was not worth this constant source of embarrassment and lack of respect. She should've been at least six feet tall at the very minimum! If she ever saw her past self, she'd show her what she was thinking but now, in current day, she had to brush herself off yet again and resume thinking of the present rather than of improbable vengeance. She looked up at Lai, realizing that she had forgotten to congratulate her, too, on such an amazing game they had obliged her with. "You were awesome, Lai!" she grinned genuinely, scratching the back of her head. "Didn't like that plan but I have to admit it was creative and pretty good! I might try that with some of my buddies here one day!" the twinkle in her eye did not calm the nerves of her mentioned menagerie as they all scuttled a bit farther away (with Fish accidentally choking her a bit in an attempt to take a step back....if he had legs, anyway). Then she gestured to the lion cub. "You guys became fast friends; you got a real knack at all this beast-taming stuff! You'd love the dungeons, they're full of little critters!" And then she turned a full three-sixty, walking right along without any attention to her surroundings or to the people she should be guiding. "Cmon guys, we're heading to the first rest-stop: the Elysian Sanctuary! That's where I got my magic stuff and you guys would love it there; lots of animals, lots of magic, and lots of—well, not lots of people, but you get the idea!"
"Oh?, so now I'm here." She grumbled. "I was being smart, there was no way we were going to catch her unless she wanted us to; or had to stop. I set a trap for the latter." She stated, her voice flat with irritation. Continuing to pay attention to the Lion cub with her free hand, she arched a brow and shifted her gaze to Mortemer's mismatched eyes. "Are you stupid? This is a lion. He answered my Hunting Call while I was flanking Chocolate." "Hmm?" Looking down at the girl with curious Ruby eyes, her fluffy, lion ears perked up to listen to her words. Hearing the player out Lai'ordi shook her head. "No, I failed my hunt. My goal was to tag you. Awesome, isn't really the word I would use right now..." she trailed off, A hint of disappointment flashing on her expression for brief moment. "Yeah." Giving a glance to the Emerald Eyed cub, the huntress offered a light hearted smirk as he played with her. Softly tugging on the golden strands. "Well I have previously worked with animals before, an entire pride of lions actually. I lived with them for two years, so Wild Cats are sort of my specialty." She lightly bragged, accepting the comment on her skills to tame animals. "Loki here just happened to be brave and fool hardy enough to answer a call from an entirely different species." She chastised the small cub, with rough scratch to the crown mark on his forehead. "Part of being a Hunter is to use your surroundings" reaching into her pant's pockets she pulled out a handful of crimson and white speckled berries. Popping a couple into her mouth, the sweetness of it's juices satisfying the girl. "a few smeared berries and few rolls in mud an we have a battle wound." she stated, explaining her simple but helpful ploy. Remembering her lack of upper torso coverage she chuckled and tapped the small Chocolate on the shoulder. "You wouldn't happen to have a spare shirt? mines kind of...on my spear..." She stated, finding it hard to explain why she had done so. Maybe she was just used to hunting with no real clothes due to restriction?.
"Hmm. Well, at least it's smart." following Chocolate down the path. A rest stop sounds nice." he thought, putting his hands behind his head. "It might be pleasant to see all of the animals and magic in one place. Kind of a good thing that there aren't a lot people. I hate crowds." In the real world, he'd never been many places. He didn't like to stray to far from his family's graveyard. so the must he would see is some towns off in the distance and people passing by every now and then. Seeing people come near the graveyard made him feel uneasy, so he usually spent most of his time in the graveyard to avoid having too many interactions with people. Mortemer walked slowly, kicking the ground with his heel to a beat that ran through his head. He looked at his hand and clenched it into a fist a couple times. Then, after a moment of keeping his hand clenched, he opened it holding dark energy in his hand. He opened and closed his hand several times, treating the magic in his hand like a yo-yo. "I wonder when we'll get there." he thought. "Oh well. I suppose we'll get there whenever."
Alpha twirled back only to have her face flush at the sight of the barely-concealed woman, squeaking and hastily turning back and attempting to gouge out her eyes. "Ew, ew, ew!" she chanted as a mantra. The last time she had seen a naked body would be in the bathroom mirror after a shower and that one time she had walked in on her parents...making her soon-to-be-born little brother. The cleavage merely reminded Alpha of those traumatizing memories and she wished she were dead. Without hesitation, she reached down and pulled her shirt off of her and slung it over her shoulder to Lai. At least she still had an undershirt underneath and, embarrassed, she hastened her pace forward. She had been enthralled by the lion lady's conversational pieces regarding wild life sanctuaries and cats. Alpha positively loved animals of any form and the tidbits Lai had told interested her greatly. Well, it had until the unfortunate event that had just occurred that would require a few thousand dollars on therapeutic services. After a few minutes, she managed to recover enough to make a particularly poor pun a few minutes late to the punchline. "Of course I have a speare shirt! Get it? Spare, spear? No?" Regardless, the awkward talk came to an end when she saw wooden constructions and habitable buildings in the distance. Relief overcame her as she pointed to the center of life. "That's not Elysian Sanctuary but it's this place I forgot was here! Uh, what was it called again? Kerah? Korah? Korra? Oh well, let's just go there and take a break! The game took a lot out of me!" @Laiordi Felcrest @Mortemer
Softly chuckling at the girl's realization Lai'ordi graciously accepted the piece of clothing...though it was a bit small. Stretching the shirt over her body she frowned as it merely only covered her chest, her stomach remaining out for the world to see. Granted she had disturbed the comfy lion, he seemed to quickly readjust himself in a similarly lax fashion. "At least he's taken to me." She stated, recalling it had taken a while for Aslan to grow attached to her. Scratching Loki on his head as the trio walked the huntress lightly cringed at the horrible pun created by Chocolate. "Let's keep you to tree jumping rather than pun making, yes?." She stated, offering an awkward smile. Glancing over her shoulder, ruby eyes swept over an amused looking Mortemer. Enjoying his magic in a rather childish manner. Clearing her throat to grab the man's attention she turned her focus back towards the path in front of her. "watch what you say about lion's around me, I'm not protective of many things. But these beasts I'm particularly fond of." she warned Mortemer. Deciding it best not to start any unnecessary issues. "Hmm? " observing the small collection of buildings Lai'ordi slowly and cautiously followed the girl. "you sure we'll be welcomed here?." she asked, not in the mood for any more conflict.
As he walked, Mortemer's head slowly drifted towards the sky. He absentmindedly began to stare at the sky. He'd just barely heard what Lai said about being careful of what to say around lions in front her. "Oh?" he said, not really paying attention. "Very well." when next he opened his hand he began to run the dark energy back and forth across his fingers. He was beginning to lose interest in walking, so he needed something to hold his attention enough to keep going. When they reached the small cluster of buildings, he'd be able to refresh his senses in the real world. He wondered if there was anything he should do of great importance while he was out and about. One thing came to mind, but he figured he'd worry about it when the time came for it. It then occurred to him that he should take a walk through his family's cemetery. That might freshen him up well enough. Mortemer closed his hand, putting to rest the dark energy, and pulled his attention to the buildings not far in front of them. He'd grown weary of just forest, and was more or less excited to see something different. Putting his hands into his pocket, he picked up a quicker pace to hasten his advance towards the buildings. Certainly, he was ready for a nice rest after all of the exercise Chocolate had put him through. [Thread Complete]
