  2. Alpha's eye twitches as she attempts to past the invisible barrier. In desperation and for an insatiable curiosity, she takes a gold coin and burns it as an offering to the game gods above (or whatever deity looked after all of them; if there was one, anyway). Finally, as nothing happens, she takes out her sleeping bag and camps out, with reddened eyes, at the Forest on the Sea. She would find out whoever took that treasure and find what was in it if it were the last thing she did.

  3. Many had tried, many had failed! And for good reason! As those who had fallen could tell you, you didn't need to worry 'bout rockin' the boat, cause them boats will rock for you. Still, this was nothing to intimidate Akino. He'd been climbing all his life! In the old world, he'd climb the buildings in Manhattan just for the heck of it. Sure, they didn't sway like a ship's mast, but they were just as intimidating; and there was no revives in reality. You learn quickly to think before you jump out there! And after watching the blood apple be taken only a few moments before he had reached it, he was determined to give every piece of treasure a shot! After all, he had never opened a chest before, so this could be his time!

There was no working up of nerve, but there was much sitting and observing. Akino must have sat and watched the sway of those masts for hours, just counting the seconds between each shift in direction. Being so high up, the movements were very wide, so one would have to time the leap just right. Not having any skills in seafaring, his footing would be a bit unstable; he planned to move steadily and calmly, as he had across the beams of scrapers in construction. Still, as an experienced free-runner, he knew the difference between moving steadily and moving slowly. Slow could get you knocked down in a moment, steadily had you flowing at a set pace that would give you enough time to catch yourself without breaking your momentum.

And so, having observed all he could through the movements of the masts, it was time to mount his endeavor. Removing his wooden sandals and tucking them into the fabric that he wore as a makeshift belt, he prayed that his feet were as good at gripping in this world as they had been in the last. Now, I won't waste time going into the details of his timed leaps and deft jumps. Suffice to say, he did his very best, while giving prayers to God as he went about it. And not once did he glance down. Finally, after using all his knowledge of climbing and experiencing a few heart-stilling slips, the final leap down into the crow's nest came. Would he make it?

  5. The witch was by the sea today. Why? She was waiting for someone, a pirate that supposedly had information she needed for her next task. They had promised to arrive by dusk but she had arrived early. The ships all docked together was quite the sight. How a pirate ship would dock was something Merkaba would have liked to see, although it may simply use a fake flag or the pirate may show up alone. The children in the distance were making fools of themselves as children often to do. The stupid little monkeys... probably had idiot parents too. A sight from far above then caught her attention. There was a chest among the maze of ropes and wood.

Merkaba frowned. Why was there a chest in such a place? Once again the false gods were throwing ridiculous things at her. Was this worth it really? Her experience with these stupid chests have never been all that great. Nothing a dark lady could really use to much benefit. Or she had just not thought of it yet. Very well, she was not doing anything else of importance right now. Why not test her mobility some? She would board a ship and make her way up a crow;s nest to use as her starting point. Time to fly around like a bat she supposed. Or a bat with broken wings anyway. This really wasn't like her....

The witch would be a sight indeed. Even some children looked up and ran away thinking some kind of winged monster was flying over their heads. She jumped and swung on ropes like something she imagined Alphabet doing regularly on her off time... or maybe all the time. Her upper body strength was not her strong point and so she used her dark magic to help her reach a few spots. Using dark tendrils to keep herself from falling off ropes was a must as her white hair flew behind her. If her mana even once fizzled or if she put too much effort and a rope was rotted... it would probably hurt very badly....

Once she was finally within good enough reach of the chest. Merkaba would finally give opening it a try and hope the cursed thing was not locked.

  6. How frustrating the fall would be. She had to use a dark claw spell along the side of a mast to slow and soften her descent. She had no further interest in going through that again. So Merkaba would leave such things to the monkeys of the world...

  7. “BWHAHAHAHA PINKY! I TOLDYA HIHIHEHAHA.” The goblin jumped, one leg after another used to propel himself a considerable height, his fall hitting the sandy ground and spreading sand everywhere. “Gobbu can sssmell treasure chestss milesss away pinky! Can ya’feel my usefulne-!?”

Ju’s fist hit the creatures head with a loud and satisfying sound, shooting him down face-first in the sand. Her eyebrows furrowed and lips curled gave away her frustation and anger at the green thing. After a few long moments of patting her clothes to get rid of sand on every nook and cranny, she cheked the situation on the treasure chest her goblin pestered her so much for while near the shores.

The situation wasn’t quite as simple as she initially thought. There masts everywhere and while climbing shouldn’t be a hard deal for her, the whole jumping around ordeal would surely be a big pain to deal with. Ju glanced back to her goblin, only to see it struggling to get pull his head out of the sand. Ju grabbed the Gobbu by his leg and pulled it at once, throwing him on the sand afterwards.

“Damnit, pinky! At leasst tell me yer gonna hit me!” The goblin looked at the chest once more before turning his eyes to his master. “Y’know pinky, I’d try to git that, but I’m way too sssmal to jump across those masts to reach the chessst. It’s up to you!”

Ju sighed in response to her minion’s usefulness and prepared herself mentally. Much to her dismay, climbing wasn’t as smooth as she thought. A few slips in would often pull her down a bit, but with enough resolution she managed to reach the top of the most accessible mast. From there, Ju had to deal with a good deal of running jumps and dangling ropes – of which one, in a special case would probably lead to her death should she fail at gripping it right. Ju felt particularly sick with every running jump or dangling rope she had to deal with.

If successfully arriving at the chest’s location Ju would check if it was locked – of course. Treasure chests are meant to be locked, apparently. After an audible and defeated sigh, she checked around to see if perhaps the key was close somewhere, and that’s when upon closer inspection she found a hallowed out object made of some sort of material unknown to her. Ju glanced at the treasure chest, and then back at the object. Shrugging, she blew the musical object that she had no idea of it’s type or name.

After blowing into the musical object, a small strand of magical energy can be seen drifting out from the wind pipe's end. This single trace of arcane residue dances playfully over to the chest, dispelling the runes placed upon it with great ease. A loud clicking sound can be heard as the container's lid is seemingly compelled to fly open. Upon securing the object inside, a strong magical force blankets over the treasure seeker, teleporting her back to the base of the towering tree. As for the reward...
