[INV;Guild] The Birth of Heroes
Discussion in 'Stokbon' started by Aaron Steele, Jul 18, 2017.
  1. Placing a finger upon her chin, the thought raced through her head as the Felis' words entered her brain. It did sound plausible. After all, most heroes in the media never would have regarded themselves as such a title. Most would simply help others out of the kindness of their heart. But there were many different types of heroes. Vigilantes, those who simply fight for money, fame, and personal justice. Shrugging her shoulders Augusta attempted to give a solemn nod before finding it too formal, and instead just continued to speak. "So a hero responds to a call for justice. Interesting." She commented. "Would you believe that one could also be a hero for reasons other than glory or to help others, @Akino Kokoro Ame. Not that I'm interested in glory." She answered as she began to place both of her hands behind her head. "I'm here to have fun. Also, I'll be willing to take you up on that offer. I'll do my best in order to help you."

After she responded, she outstretched her hand to the new person who had just arrived, @Zaos Rocyne. "Hey Zaos, the name is Augusta Akker. I look forward to working with you. After all, we all are aspiring heroes in here she said with a laugh." Stretching out her arms towards the air she continued to speak. "Let's help each other to achieve our dreams. After all, don't all the themes in those bedtime stories tell us that that teamwork helps you grow in strength and character? If we follow those to the max maybe we can become invincible." Tossing her head back, she gave another loud laugh before making her face in a more serious manner, although the smile was still plastered upon her face. "Realistically teamwork could help us take down tougher monsters which will benefit us all and give us a story to share with each other." Finishing her mug of beer, Augusta slammed her mug upon the table. Her mind was still rather foggy from the alchohol, but now Augusta had found her brain mostly intact, however.

As @Xavier Weissman spoke of his idea of a hero is one of a player killer it had sparked her interest but most of all she had found it hilarious. The rational part of her own mind was clouded up but it forced her to wonder, why was it so funny? The idea of player killing was no laughing matter. But instead, she found herself bursting out in guffaws. "Vigilante justice huh? I guess those player killers got what is coming to them. If they want to kill they have to get past you first." The dagger to the table merely caused herself to burst into laughter even more although the action would normally cause her to flinch. Was this what it was like to be drunk? It felt... odd but currently she was unable to do anything to counteract the beer she had drunken. "You want to know my definition of a hero? Everyone. That's right, in my opinion, everyone can be a hero. After all, our ideas of justice and heroes are different after all. Hell, you can even refer to villains as heroes of their own story. For me, my idea of a hero is personal goals. You are a hero of your own story after all. My goal is to explore this world!" She declared passionately, slamming her fists onto the table as she did so before bursting out into a fit of laughter.

Once she had finished, Augusta turning her head at the human who had introduced himself as @Aaron Steele she would greet him back warmly as well. "That's great to hear, I look forward to working with you in the future. Hopefully, we can both help each other achieve our own personal goals." Finally, the food had appeared on the table, and hearing her stomach growl Augusta in an almost greedy manner reached out for a plateful of what appeared to be mutton. "Now it is time to conquer this plate of food, that is my current goal as a hero of my story." Without hesitation, the Faerin sunk her teeth into the meat.

"Hey everyone!" She greeted, giving them a blinding grin. There was a pretty wide mix of people, all with differing opinions, yet they all seem to share at least the same inclination to do good. Still, some like Rye and Akino were benevolent to the point of awe. Sure, Amane loved helping people, but going out of her way to aid others without anything in return wasn't a creed that she could comprehend subscribing herself to completely. "I don't necessarily want to help people en masse," she said, turning to answer Augusta's question. (@Augusta Akker) "I suppose I just want to make a difference; to be relevant, y'know? It just so happens that being heroic and virtuous, and making a name for yourself, comes hand in hand here. And I like helping people in simple ways, even if you wouldn't find me volunteering for the sheer joy of it." Shrugging, she stopped there, choosing to take the time instead to digest what the other players themselves had said. Idly, Amane's gaze fell on the otter and moth climbing all over the red headed felis, and a small smile broke at the corners of her lips. "Do you guys already know each other?" She asked, referring to @Akino Kokoro Ame and @Mahlthor Oakenheart. "Your pets certainly seem friendly."

Well, it wasn't like she was a complete asshole, she had gone out of her way to do good before; but it hadn't been helping people, rather it was putting a stop to a PKer's activities. Something like what Xavier (@Xavier Weissman) mentioned wanting to do, but without the killing aspect — Amane couldn't justify taking a life pointlessly, when it wasn't necessary to save another. But his desire to protect and support those that he cares for was something that she could empathise with. "That's quite noble," she mentioned. "And I have to agree, everyone's ideals are valid and worth fighting for. Don't ask me what a being a hero means, I'll admit outright that I have no clue, but I don't think we need clear definitions in order to be heroic. We can all do it our way."

When @Aaron Steele appraised her of the guild's future plans, Amane nodded, accepting the join request as it appeared at the corner of her vision. "1000 influence sounds great," she said, smiling. "I have a full set of gear already, so I'll contribute all that I can. Guildmates should stick together, or we wouldn't progress anywhere." The guy seemed like a pretty nice person, though his obsession with the fictional Elysid Court religion was a little disconcerting. While most of the NPCs here felt as real as any human, there was no need to adopt their religions too, which were likely written up by one of the game designers over a cup of coffee and chips. Still, to each his own, she supposed.

"World bosses, for example," Amane added to what @Augusta Akker said, after the velten faerin was done. "No way any one of us will be able to bring one down solo, but together we can afford banners and such that'll benefit all of us. And the more combat inclined players have to rely on crafters for gear, and vice versa for income. All these will be simplified, and our gains even amplified, when we band together in a guild." She wandered over to the tables, picking up some snacks to eat, though she avoided the beer. Showing how much of a lightweight she was in her very first impression sounded like a terrible idea. "I, too, look forward to working with all of you in the future. Though I was wondering, what are your builds and masteries? Your current ones, and the ones you're planning to obtain in the future." Her last question Amane directed to everyone as she took a bite of her steak.

OOC: @Rye Emerson, @Zaos Rocyne. I have a bad headache right now, so the post is probably a bit bad, sorry guys.

  3. When Aaron started getting all teary-eyed and emotional, Akino practically broke into tears with him. It was true, he had never been much for groups. Even in past MMOs, he had preferred to tackle challenges solo, teaming up only when it was absolutely necessary. However, a lot had changed in his life outside of this world, many waves he had rode along on. Rising and falling with them, his views and beliefs had shifted profoundly along the way, until he was who they saw before them now. It gave the hopeful heart strength, and faith in the world. Despite their varying differences on heroism, all of them wanted what was best for the world, and to be a help to one another. Sighing happily and returning Aaron's embrace, he then stood tall upon a bench, the only way a five foot and seven inch man could be called tall, lifting a mug high. His eyes burned with a fervent passion, inspired by @Aaron Steele's own toast. Now it was his turn to praise them, tail whipping about as he did so.

"To Aaron! Who's ideas, dreams, and perseverance have gathered us all together today in mutual aspiration for making this world a bit of a better place, and having a grand ol' time while doing it! You're a great man, Aaron Steele! You're heart is gold, and your blade carried by justice! I'd follow you into the Abyss and back, if you so commanded! Here's to you, Boss Man!" He took a deep swig of his drink, but did not lower it. Rather, he raised it higher, voice booming to the rafters for such a smaller fellow.

"To each of you, who were brave enough to cast your doubts, worries, and insecurities to the side, to join us here and support the cause of righteousness! No matter what your definition of a hero, no matter what truths your hearts conceal, we are all a family now! And family loves one another, flaws and all! May we each help one another to find the peace, fulfillment, and happiness that we came to this world in search of! And may each of you inspire countless others, in this world and the next, as you have me!"
Another quaff of his mead, and a cheer, before he raised it up once more.

"And finally, to the Heroes of Falderen! May our Valor, our Unity, and our Heroism, no matter its breed, never leave the hearts of the people in this world! No matter who gives the call for help, no matter how grave the tragedy may be, we will be there! Because we don't fight for money, or glory, or praise! We fight for those who can't fight for themselves! No, better yet! Not just fight for them, we will defend them! We will train them, inspire them, and help them grow! Let no soul suffer injustice in this world again, if we can help it! The Heroes of Falderen!" Shouting the last bit with an uproar, he dropped back down to the bench, slamming the empty tankard down into the wood to punctuate the exclamation. Eyeing the now empty drinking vessel, he decides that he didn't need more cheer in a flask. He already had plenty through his new comrades. So he called politely for a pot of tea, Oolong with honey and ginseng, preferably. The barmaid brought the clay teapot out only a moment later, with ginseng and honey both in the tincture, and by its side. He added both liberally to the substance, despite there likely being plenty in the first place. Ju-ju was sitting on his shoulder now, and so Akino lifted one of the still whole root pieces up to his tiny paws, which clamped around it firmly so he could gnaw on it. Remembering that @Amane Hirota had mentioned something about the furry little buggers getting along, he gave her a nod.

"Yeah, me and @Mahlthor Oakenheart like to get together every once in a while for the little ones to play together. We met in a tavern out by Norfova, and I saw immediately that he was a good man." He emphasized the remark by giving Mahlthor and affectionate punch in the arm, before sipping some of the still steaming tea. With the way his face went slack and he sighed, you would think he had just entered paradise. Lids falling closed, he meditated on this moment, feeling each soul's energy thrive. It was a good day to be alive.

  4. Zaos smiled as a hand was extended to him, and he quickly reached over and shook @Augusta Akker's hand. She seemed nice enough, and he was pleased to see another Faerin around. Perhaps they could build a mutually beneficial relationship going forward. Settling back on his chair, he focused on the apparent leader. He wasn't quite sure what to expect from his new guild leader, but he certainly wasn't expecting the man to break down and cry. The Faerin stared at the reaction, wondering if he had indeed stumbled into a roleplaying guild. He covered his shock by snagging a platter of food, blindly eating it without properly looking at it first. Sugary bliss filled his mouth a moment later, and he finally glanced down to see that he had grabbed a sweet roll. It was really good, he thought, chewing it several times before swallowing and taking another bite. The food flavour and texture was perfect, implying that whoever had coded the food had done their research. Lucky them, getting to eat food and get paid for it.

When another round of drinks arrived, he grabbed some mead and took a drink, licking his lips as he analyzed the taste. It was different from regular beer, but it was quite nice. He politely raised his mug when another member called for a toast, inwardly wincing as the feline player raised his voice. This guild certainly had some bold personalities, but those types of players naturally gravitated towards groups like this. Zaos wondered how much the alcohol was affecting the player's words, but whatever the case, he was definitely enthusiastic. He sipped on his mead as the speech continued on, sighing softly when it finally ended.

He proceeded to listen with interest to the brief explanation on how a guild could take on bosses, finding that the system matched up closely to other MMOs of the past. Not that that was a bad thing - if it wasn't broke why fix it and all that. In response to @Amane Hirota's question, he waiting for a pause in the conversation and finally spoke. "I plan on being mostly behind the scenes, but I can fight if it comes to that. I have Illumancy, Magical Tools and Magecraft right now. I'll see what the future brings before I decide on my other masteries."

  5. Gwyn had seen the message. She had read it over with a critical eye and heavily considered dismissing it. She had fought with herself over the warring factions in her mind that said to stay to her course, to travel free and unbound and to owe no man nothing and keep her loyalty to the earth underfoot and the bow in hand. There was a voice, one that screamed battle cries in her ears as she took on a fight, that whispered of glory. What hunts could a guild challenge that a lone hunter could not? It wasn't just world bosses that temporarily aligned players together as they fought tooth and nail for their causes, whatever those may be. This was beyond that. More quests, more bounties, more delving into the forgotten or never known places of the world. She could travel a hundred years by herself and never clear as much land as a full hunting party could. As much as a guild could. At the same time there was a fear. A hesitation, rather. Some feeling tightening around her throat at the thought like a collar. She didn't belong anywhere. Not in the real world and not in the virtual one.

She'd never had a problem with that. It didn't keep her up at night and in fact it had more than once brought her great comfort. If she didn't belong then she didn't have to stay. If she didn't belong she didn't owe anything. If she didn't belong it gave her reason to travel and then travel farther. Gwyn pulled her hands sharply through her hair, tugging on the long locks until it bordered on painful before she finally let go. She was being ridiculous. Thinking to deeply into it. It was a group of people playing a game and Sabine didn't have a problem with it in the least. It was profitable for her and the guild, it was safer, it was smarter, hell it could even be funner if people weren't assholes and she fell into a good group of people. From the message floating in front of them, it sounded like it.

The ranger, however, was quailing in the face of it. She had been about to stand and give into the urge to pace when her mini pet shifted. The Terrified Bunny shuffled around where he was curled up between her shirt and armor. The woman leaned back to rest on her hands behind her and looked down where the stiffer leather didn't lay flat against the fabric. Curled atop her chest, the black rabbit would occasionally kick out in fright from some noise and the immediately return to making the softest of cooing noises. She reached up to brush her fingers through the soft, black fur and met the widening green eyes with an amused look. "You're scared of everything aren't you, Diop? I don't get scared so, well not really scared of things. I drive right into danger. I've fallen off a cliff and I'd climb it again today if I could." He leaned into the nails scratching over his back. "Guess that's a little bit of a lie. I'm scared of being stuck. Trapped like I am back home. That's silly isn't it? I could leave any time with a little spare change, but... I don't want to? If I do this that's it." Gwyn cupped her hand around the rabbit and lifted him up to her face with an odd look exchanged between the two. "If I do it, they're pack. Or in your case, a colony. My colony." The rabbit snuffled, but offered no advice. Instead Diop seemed content to start nibbling away at the stitching of her gloves.

There was no helping it. She'd known the minute she'd opened the damn invite that she'd do it. She just didn't want to regret it. Sabine Bertrand did not do regret. Gwyn as Herne would not do regret.

The hunter settled her pet back in the gap he enjoyed curling up in and stood from her idle rest and worry. There was no option for it. She'd just have to browbeat anything that stood in her or the guild's way just like she'd do anywhere else. She'd strong arm her way to being satisfied with the people there and the things they did. If someone strayed then she'd herd them back like a hound to sheep. Gwyn cracked her knuckles and gathered her belongings. She had a tavern to find.

When she arrived, the noise was nearing deafening. The crowds of NPCs had parted as she'd worked through Stokbon, but this was different. The players in the tavern spoke loudly amidst each other about varying topics. She caught snatches of class and build discussions. Quests and future plans. Introductions and reunions. She snagged a tall glass of alcohol off a table that appeared to have no owned and emptied it. She had a feeling she'd need it. The wilds didn't normally have... so many people. She paid attention to the toasts going about, but most of it was just bluster and talk between friends she didn't care to hear. Action bought her, not pleasantries and praises. Finally the ranger set her hands on her hips and whistled sharply to the group. "Evenin'. Name's Gwyn. Now which one of you has the name sitting in my invite inbox?"

  6. Giving @Aaron Steele a hug back, Weissman all but cracked a smile at his comment about Grey and the youths lack of appearance. Rubbing his chin slowly the man flat out ignored the drunken @Augusta Akker until she spoke of her idea then she went unnoticed once more. Nodding towards the [VALOR] tag that had been given to him, he placed it within his confines and sleeve. There was much merriment and joy among the guild members and it made him feel somewhat better. Putting the questions about what it meant to be a hero to rest, he raised his ale tankard with @Akino Kokoro Ame and joined in the cheer and drinking of the Founding of The Hero's of Falderen! Knocking back the tankard of ale he finished it and poured himself some more.

Today was going to be a tipsy day and a day to be remembered by all those who looked upon the future and smiled at the challenges to come. A moment of silence passed for Weissman as he thought about all those who might perish in the process. This small moment was not for him, his life was meaningless in the eyes of the greater goal. Nay, his silence was for all those around the table cheering and bouncing in laughter. Looking to the ceiling he raised his tankard once more drinking the rest of it. 'When the Horns of Elysium call.. May our deaths be quick..' He thought to himself as he finished the ale with ease. Still he was no where close to tipsy but he would be in no time.

Grabbing another pint of Ale, Weissman nearly bumped into @Gwyn ap Herne with both drinks. With a quick spin of his heel he was past her and the second mug was thrust into her hand with ease. "Boss man is at the head of the table!! Another toast!! To our new ally and friend! May the Hero's of Falderen last for many years to come! May they sing of our deeds for ages to pass!!!" With a wild woop the man toasted his tankard up and tipped it back chugging every sweet drop of the alcohol. Again it was going to be a day to remember right?!

Looking around he went to find an NPC set of musicians and payed them in small coin to play for the group. He wanted to start the dancing and the much needed relaxation and future looting of free food for the orphans at the home. No doubt the supplies were low and they would need more shortly! Dancing around the room he clapped his hands to the beat before grabbing his dagger from the table and sheathing it away into his robes. There it would disappear not to be seen for the rest of the night. Well hopefully.

  7. As he finished his hug and made the toast, he'd soon return to eating; only to hear @Akino Kokoro Ame give quite the elegant and marvelous speech, Once more eyes filled up with liquid as he clapped happily, "Good show, Akino, very good show indeed. He was proud and felt happy that his silly dreams and desires had touched the boy so. It was one thing to find like minded folks and get them to join a cause, it was another entirely to inspire an individual to not just join the cause but to truly believe in it. With such words exchanged he'd remain quiet and eat drinking his drink occasionally there were no words one could use to express his gratitude and his happiness. So he'd leave it be, a smile and nod confirming his admiration as he rose the glass drinking each time. Until it appeared to settle down, it wouldn't be for long though as he turned his head as his eyes met those of @Gwyn ap Herne As she spoke and drank he'd move his hands, "Please take a seat, join us plenty of drinks and food. The name is Aaron Steele, I sent the message. You answered the call, was this about the guild or was I drunk and do something stupid." he'd ask blushing some as he laughed unsure what she meant as he had passed out drunk the night before. So there was a possibility there may be less than honorable picture among her messages.

Eyes shifting to the side he'd sip his beer until he heard another toast in honor of the guild, "TO FALDEREN'S GUARDIANS!" he shouts back in reply as he drank and smiled more; having fisted two beer mugs a downed them. Feeling a bit drunk now he'd move over to some chicken and grab a loaf of bread, "Breast to start eating more that way I don't get too sick." He'd say as he got up and walked over to sit near @Gwyn ap Herne and pull her aside whispering, "Look if it was a dick pic. Totes sorry was plastered the night before...like worse than tonight. So I'm truly sorry, a paladin can become corrupt when drinking the devil's mead. Now, if it wasn't then I assume it was more akin to the guild meeting here.I'll send an invite." he said inviting her to the guild officially, the words [VALOR] would pop up on the screen as the tag before the guilds name did. "The Heroes of Falderen awaits you, you answered the call, now can you take the leap of faith. Something tells me you not here for the food or beer, you're the type to seek out adventure, never stick in one place too long. You desire to live the life you want, not restrained by constraints. I can see it in your eyes, I can also see you've been hurt, screwed over before. I can personally promise you that won't happen here. I want us to be a family, you don't fuck over family."

Patting her shoulder he'd continue a bit."You also don't keep them from their dreams, you help every way you can. I don't know quite just yet what it is you crave, what it is you desire but I'll help you reach it. All I ask is your desire to help others be on par with the willingness we give to help you." He'd say with a smile before walking off once more to take his seat at the end of the table once more eating some bread and chicken." Let's enjoy our night, anyone else who comes let's give them a proper welcome. Tomorrow I'll see you all here by noon the latest; so no partying too hard. I'll set up those who join into teams and set you off on your first missions." he said with a warm smile his hands waving as if to dismiss them if they so desired to leave, he himself was only just getting started, "Now, those of you up to party, what do you say we have a bit of fun. Anyone ballsy enough to do some Kareoke? I mean, can anyone play an instrument or know a musican? Fuck it, Acapella?" he said some trying to get some sort of activity going, his go to was poker but a few looked to be fairly skilled at card games; too skilled to suggest strip poker for a laugh or two. "No, no one. What about a game or two of beer pong. Maybe Quarters, cups? Anyone got any fun ideas...I heard that this place's basement is haunted." he said with a grin looking about, "Maybe we should investigate?" he said laughing.

  8. Busy to put it midly Isolt was busy in the real world and when she finally did sign on she had a message that pinged her immediately. When she noted it was from Aaron she smiled and then she looked at the message and nearly ran over another noob as she jumped in the air happy that he'd finally started to guild. And in her enthuiasmn she apologized dto the one she had nearly run over before she made her way through to Stokbon where the guild would be waiting. She was sure she was going to totally be late but she was okay with this. Her tail flicking as she waked and her ears twitching in utter excitement.

She gave a cute little smile to the guard at the city and then slipped inside and right up to where the guild was supposed ot be meeting. The message did say something about food and she wanted to taste this food. Yes Isolt had been out tasting all the delicies that this virtual world had to offer her because she wanted to make food for the npcs and for the pcs alike. She was just so excited. So once she was inside she looked at everyone and made her way to Aaron finding herself near his side at some point.

"I'm glad you finally got this up. Hiya. Oh and hi everyone I'm Isolt Veera." She was definately dressed like she wasn't a fighter. wearing a little apron and something a kin to a tattered dress.

  9. Gwyn leaned out of the way as someone who seemed to already be deep in their drink nearly shouldered into her with his hands full of drink. The blonde accepted the beer pushed into her hand by @Xavier Weissman who was surprisingly just the smallest bit taller than her. She should have made her character like seven foot tall, she griped in the privacy of her own mind. Should have been a damn near amazonian warrior just for the fuck of it. "Mmm, sure. Thanks for the directions." The ranger would content herself with the beer however, nose scrunching up at the taste. Piss water really, but she'd hunt down the better stuff later and settle for the time being.

As she headed to the man in question he made it clear he'd heard her question and met her eyes. Gwyn nodded as @Aaron Steele spoke and pulled a chair out to sit. She didn't seat herself at the main table, but a smaller one next to it that was more than close enough to listen in on the conversations and join them at her leisure. She wasn't a wall flower by any means, but she still wasn't acclimated to the hustle and bustle of so many lives existing in tandem with her own. There was another riot of cheers and drinking before the man moved to join her at the table and spoke lowly. Confusion dominated her expression within the first few words, but she didn't interrupt until he had finished saying his peace. When she did speak it wasn't loud nor was it quiet. If anyone cared to listen then they'd hear what she had to say. Gwyn didn't really do secrets after all. "No. It was about the guild. I'd suggest you not send anything unwarranted my way or you'll get an unwarranted quiver of arrows somewhere soft," she said in a complete deadpan once she realized what he was talking about. She'd not gotten a picture of a dick in the real world and she didn't care to get one in a virtual one either. How entirely unappealing.

She watched the invite flash and didn't let herself pause in accepting it. Gwyn thanked the beer for the steady hand as he continued to speak, though had taken on a far more serious tone that betrayed the alcohol in his veins. "No to that as well. I'm not here to be a hero, but there is worth in doing heroic things. You can use whatever titles you want, but it's all just noise." Her blue eyes were cold when they moved from the vanishing acceptance display to his. She could almost feel the tag added beneath her name for those who inspected. "You don't know me, not yet, and you don't know where I've come from or what has happened to me or not. Not everyone needs some betrayal or trauma to have reason to doubt. But you've got good people and we'll see if you're one of them in time. Unless you manage to prove yourself unworthy of them, however, I've got eyes and keen weapons and I'm more than happy to put them to work. I'm more than happy to help, to defend, and to fight." Her was voice still strong and clear over the din of the tavern and her Terrified Rabbit poked his head up from between her shirt and armor to snuffle at the nearby man as she continued to speak. Perhaps Diop had been drawn by the oddity of just how much she'd said in one sitting. The sound of her voice probably put him at ease if the fact he didn't immediately startle at the sight of Aaron meant anything. "You talk of devil's mead so you'd be the type to believe that idle hand's do the devil's work, yeah?" She leaned back in her chair, pressing the knuckles of one hand into the other and heard each finger's joints pop. "Not a problem you'll find here."

Eventually he'd move back and return to the main table, leaving her watching the gathering figures with a slowly warming expression. For now she relaxed in her seat in the midst of the guild's seat of power and watched a new face pop up while their leader spoke to everyone of the varying fun times to be had. It was going to be a long night. It was shaping up to look like a longer everything with this group. The life here that they created was so vibrant and different from the type she surrounded herself with both here and home. But she figured she could get used to this in time. Wolves hunted with a pack and found their power in numbers. Perhaps it would do her well to take a walk in those wild footsteps herself.

  10. Rye was tempted to sneak out of the tavern to avoid all of the drunk people. Instead, the new guild leader had decided to hug both the felis and @Akino Kokoro Ame at the same time in a storm of emotion. "I love you guys!" he pretty much bawled in their ears, making Rye flush slightly and pat his arm slightly. "Yeah, yeah, love you too, Aaron." The loud cacophony of noise from everyone coming in made her sensitive cat ears flatten to her skull and her tail lash in agitation. She already loved the attitude of the guild; there were so many different opinions to what heroism actually was. Rye herself didn't care much for it, but she genuinely wanted to help.

Aaron was too good for her, and the guild in particular. He was just a good man in general, and that made her feel all warm and cozy inside. Fondness sparkled across her emerald eyes, the tense look on her face relaxing into something of a reluctantly warm expression. Where was there a place where she could just sit back and observe? Circling the rim of her beer bottle, she squinted down at the liquid in it and shook off the haziness in her mind. No, she wouldn't get drunk. Mmm. She blinked dazedly up at the newcomer, @Gwyn ap Herne, was it?

"Nice to meet you Gwyn," she greeted semi-cheerfully, her tail trailing the ground and eventually winding around her ankles. Emerald eyes sparkled behind a curtain of black hair, her ears twitching around and trying to get around how loud it was. Where was she again? Oh, oh dear. At a tavern. Was she supposed to even be here? She blinked dazedly once more, rubbing at her eyes and stifling a yawn. Maybe she should get out of here, go find a room at a nearby inn.

Squinting at all the people around her, she let out a brief purr and eyed @Aaron Steele curiously. "WELL, I'm going to hit the hay." she decided, vocalizing due to the fact that there might be people who would wonder where she was. Which would probably be Aaron. "Everything's pretty loud, and my ears hurt. Plus, I think I'm a little dunk. Dink. Drunk. Whatever." Stifling a yawn, Rye skirted the edges of the group and made her away across the street, squinting at the various signs of the inns.

Now, where would she find a comfortable bed that had her name on it?

  11. As @Rye Emerson replied back to Steele's overly loving affection. It wouldn't be long after that, there the small bout and banters had passed. The sudden shift of the conversation between him and @Gwyn ap Herne seemed to be of interest. Listening to her words he'd nod, she brought up very good points, although drunk some seemed to blend the one which she did make was never send photos. Grabbing at the boys he'd scoot back some and nod, "Agreed." he'd say chuckling nervously as he pats the table before getting up to back off. "Well, a pleasure to have you here and as part of the team, drink til your heart's content and eat what you will." he'd say breaking away as @Isolt Veera arrived and appeared near him, introducing herself. A warm smile passed as he lifts her up in a bear hug, "Neko chan... my kitty waifu in another laifu" he'd say letting her down and ruffling her hair, "Glad you came love, yeah. Tots excited about finally bringing this baby to life." he'd admit as he shifted his attention for a moment. "Sorry be right back" he'd say as he heard Rye Emerson updated him on what was running through her mind. Nodding he'd give her a slight hug and ruffle her head allowing for her to leave.

"Well, be careful, have one of the boys take you to the Inn, I don't want nuffing happening. Cuz Ya drunk...so no driving home right?" he'd say chuckling, "Seriously tho, if you want I can have someone take you to the Inn. I don't want you drunk alone. Not, how family is. We protect one another." he'd say nodding before calling over at @Gwyn ap Herne "Hey I know, we just talked, but can you maybe take Rye here to the inn, make sure she is safe; I'd hate for something to happen. The thugs out there are bad, you're strong right. I trust you, you got a face to trust." he'd say the beer definitely effecting his speech. Patting her back he'd turn and once more talk to the group; discussing the haunted basement idea. His mind elsewhere he'd truly hoped that she'd drop her off and return if not make sure the girl was alright, even though stockborn was a holy city with a good reputation. There was always someone out there terrible, if not NPC's the players themselves and he didn't trust men around drunk girls; another reason he'd send the blonde. Knowing full well she was more likely the trust worthy choice; not judging her preference nor ideology as it seemed to slip past them in his thoughts earlier.

Aside from that, he knew he'd need to do all that he could and at least try; otherwise, it would bite him in the ass and he'd feel awful. A faint smile passing he'd say his farewells and return to the party. "For realz tho, they really do believe it's haunted, maybe that could be our first quest. Solve the guild hall's haunted basement." he said laughing as he sat down some and thought about it, "Nah, too easy. I think our first real big quest or mission should be a really hard one, see how we work as a unit under pressure." he'd say smiling his eyes looking about the room. Maybe I'll just assign you all a number tonight. Then pair you up for tomorrow for mini missions and such. Yes, that will be the goal." he'd say smiling warmly as he folded his arms over his chest, leaning back against his chair, his cheeks were a rosy
color, he was warm and felt really comfortable, almost enough to fall asleep. Sitting there he'd look to his allies, grabbing his cup he'd sip once more remaining quietly as he remained in deep thought, "Just so I can get an idea, who here prefers to hunt. Who here prefers to cultivate or work on farms. I'm gonna start working on getting us odd jobs or missions we can frequent. Maybe stick to things you'd prefer.

That way when it comes time to pair you up or balance out skills we can ensure you are all successful and so forth." he'd say trying to get a head start on the list; however this in itself would require more knowledge and information upon those who joined and even more about the task at hand. So brief notes on them would be ideal for later use anyway."Outside of the chat for skills and compatibility for quests, does anyone even have proper gear or is everyone running around in some shitty gear?" he asked curiously, "Raise your hand I don't mind. Just want to know who we need to aid in getting their proper armors and such." he said smiling warmly as he scanned the room looking. Hoping it would only be a few he could help in time. There was so much to discuss and look into before the next boss drop.

  12. "Gah!, of course he's late..." The girl trailed off, her normally calm and collective voice breaking in irritation. That red head Mortemer was supposed to meet her in the city so they could continue their personal quest. Clearly he had other plans, like sticking up a friend. Taking a deep breath she moved forward along the path. Still clad in starter's attire a Felis strolled through the city of Stokbon, long, blonde hair flowing to the cool breeze of the wind, her appearance stood out amongst the citizens. Mostly due to the hyper active feline pouncing about behind her, causing mischief at every opportune chance he could. Loki. The girl had met him while playing a little brat's game of tag, her pride still hurt to this moment. Most of the mistakes were on her end, while he had proved useful. Though even if he hadn't, the lioness probably would still have had taken him as her own.

"Hmm?" Interrupting the girl's thoughts a notification sound caused her feline ears to perk up. Performing the simple motion to open her messages, ruby eyes flicked through the words. A guild meeting?, was it about that invite the man had sent her the other day? Placing a thoughtful hand on her chin she continued to walk through the city. She was already here in Stokbon and there was a free meal included in the meeting. Cringing at the thought of social activity she let out a troubled sigh. Maybe it was time to open up?.

"Loki, come." she spoke the order, picking up her pace with a goal in mind. An Inn she had passed a while back while searching for her party members. The sound of swift pattering feet soon approaching behind her Lai'ordi snapped her finger to her side, pointing out the cub's spot. "We have somewhere to go, behave yourself." She warned the little Loki.

Raising a tentative hand, Lai'ordi slowly pushed against the door to the Inn. She was nervous, it'd been a while since that feeling had plagued her. As the door creaked and revealed more of the inside of the building the girl eyes washed over a group of people, many unique looking. Some loud, some quiet. But regardless they all seemed to get along, for the most part. Her heart beating faster she slowly turned, letting the door shut behind her she moved for the back corner of the room. Rather than approach head on she opted for her usual ways, not to socialize. Calm and silent it seemed as though Loki could sense his owner's unease, slowly walking beside her. Both their tails still and motionless, lacking excitement.

Taking a seat in rather uncomfortable chair, the huntress watched the group from a distance. Taking in all the information she could, without contact that was. From a distance it was hard to hear normal level conversations, though a couple booming voices threatened to deafen her. Opening her message window she softly tapped away at the transparent keyboard. "I'll at least let him know I'm here..." she thought to herself.

Lai'ordi: "Steele, I'm here at the Inn."

  13. He took it more than well enough in her books and she nodded firmly as he winced away from the- well, she didn't care to call it a threat, more of a warning. A bit of a promise. Whatever word it garnered didn't matter. They both saw eye to eye on that and Gwyn allowed herself to unwind with that little conversation out of the way. She pulled an apple from one of the large platters boasting food a plenty. With an arrow pulled out, she pressed the fruit across the sharpened line of the blade to slice cleanly through it. She brought the slivers to her mouth, held against the arrowhead with a firm press from her thumb, and ate while she watched.

They came and went with an excited bustle like someone had gone and dropped food near an anthill. When the little Felis hailed her, she dipped her head in greeting, but opted not to speak with the food currently in her mouth. Instead she sat loosely in the chair, one long leg kicked out in front of her at and angle no one but a particularly blind drunk would be in danger of tripping over. She cut a thin slice off the bright red apple and held it to the edge of her armor where Diop's small head poked out to grab it. "Try not to get apple juice on my shirt, smalls." She cooed lowly to the pet before indulging in the next bite, accompanied by a swig of beer. The two didn't mix overly well, but she didn't have the willpower or mind to care at the moment. The huntress mostly had the thought of fetching mead on the mind. It would take a bit more weighing over the likelihood of mixing her drinks versus the enjoyment of switching to something that didn't taste like lukewarm horse piss before she actually got up to do anything about it.

She also wasn't quite sure if the honeyed drink counted in the whole 'liquor before beer, all in the clear; beer before liquor, never been sicker' thing.

Steele brought her back out of the hazy thoughts of booze with a young Felis in tow. She nodded and stood, taking down the remaining apple with a few hearty crunches. The ranger pulled her sleeve over her mouth to clear the juice away and nodded toward the exit of the tavern. "Yeah, I'll get her there fine. Try not to burn the place down while I'm gone. I'd hate to miss a show," Gwyn tossed over her shoulder and walked the drunken guild member out. It wasn't a long walk, but she didn't mind the time protecting someone she'd probably end up fighting beside in time. The other seemed to walk in a set daze and Gwyn simply followed a few steps behind to let her find her way, making sure she made it safely before she turned on her heel to return. The switch from warm tavern air, to the cool of moving air outside, and back to stagnant heat was enough to turn her stomach and she decided firmly to avoid anything but water. She could hold her alcohol like a fucking champion, but she was still only mortal. Upset stomachs weren't something to play with.

Instead she rejoined at the tail end of a call for skills, preferences, and the like. As well as talk of armors and weapons and a lack of both. The ranger called out to @Aaron Steele over the din to answer the questions he'd posed to them all. "My skills are in Ranged for my archery, Beast Taming, and Hunting. Little bit in Medium Armor, though I'm obviously lacking anything but this shit- er, trash tier stuff." She squinted down at her own armor, meeting the wide green eyes of the Terrified Rabbit. "Luckily, staying about a mile away from things I'm puncturing with arrows works out well for me. So, I imagine it should be obvious I'm the type for hunting, trapping, anything dealing with the wilds or animals." Being unprepared was a nuisance, yes, but it wouldn't stop her. It certainly hadn't before.

  14. A bear hug was what came from Aaron who she could tell had been drinking some. She giggled a little bit as he lifted her up. She nodded her head when he said he would be right back and she took a look at everyone around them. Most of these people she hadn't met but she was ready and willing to help out each and everyone of them should they need her for anything. Not that she was a super good fighter she could hold her own but she was mostly a cook and an alchemist. She was support and she wanted to stay that way. She wanted to make their guild hall a home. She found a place to sit so she could listen to what Aaron said. Their guild hall was haunted. Now that was something she would end up having to check out. After all the basement was kinda where she wanted to put an alchemy lab so she would likely have to ifgure out what was down there. Then he said something about mini missions and she just sorta wondered what he meant by that. She was a crafter yes she had a little bit of well weapon skill but yea.

"I can do a little hunting and well i think cultivating is actually a skill and not a bad one for someone to have right?" she shrugged it off. "I wouldn't mind a little mini hunt or picking stuff for the farmers. Even helping them butcher their livestock for food and or defeat that which might be plaguing them." She smiled and rested where she was muching on something that looked like a fruit snack of some sort. She gave Aaron a sort of duh I don't have good armor look but that was about it as she settled into her little spot and looked around at the others waiting for their comments.

    @Aaron Steele
(mostly at aaron but someone come and mess with her lol)

  15. A warm smile would pass his lips as he began to see @Gwyn ap Herne help her fellow guild mate to safety. His attention shifting from that to the arrival of his waifu kitten; the bear hug and mini banter passing he'd smile wide. Expressing his feelings for the guild hall they were in, "Well haunted might be a bit of an exaggeration, but something was going on in the basement that spooked out one of the employees. None the less, I can't wait til we have one of these for ourselves, we will be amazing and the talk of the town, just you wait. You'll see, we will have the largest most luxurious guild hall around. People will come from all over Falderen just to partake in our ballroom events, the seasonal harvest and so much more; before people know it we'll run our own castle. I'm telling you, a mini kingdom within Falderen will be our legacy." Drinking a bit more he'd nod some as he paused his banter for a brief moment to shift over his messages. Looking down he'd open and see the unknown name. Reading the message he'd nod, "Alright...be right back" he said as he walked out of the guild hall and looked about for the female, thankfully the inn wasn't far from where they were.

Walking a bit drunk out in the middle of the streets it wouldn't take long before the cool air nights air helped to sober him up, at least enough to appear presentable. Upon arrival to where this person, @Laiordi Felcrest resided he'd wave and smile, "Good evening, miss. The name is Aaron Steele, are you Laiordi, Laiordi Felcrest?" He'd inquire some as he bowed trying to show he was a proper gentleman, "I believe our messages got mixed up, the x and y coordinates are off. maybe you read them in reverse or I posted them wrong. But the guild hall is the end result, that is this way." he'd say as they walked towards the building of desire; the flyers about a player killer noted about the village. A faint chuckle passed as he thought of @Xavier Weissman. Lips parting he'd smile as he opened his menu and sent out the official invite; the tag [VALOR] would be displayed had she accepted, "So what made you wish to join a Heroes' Guild? It's not often people seem so inclined to join, glad you answered the call, there are a few others who did as well, I'm sure you'll really enjoy getting to meet them. I'm the Guild Leader Aaron Steele."

He'd say briefly introducing himself, "Paladin in training and dedicated tank. My skills involve Sword, Shield, Heavy Armor, Berserk as well as Illumancy. I'm working on getting them all to a fairly high mastery but it's taking more time than I thought. I just hope to get them adequate enough by the next World Boss." he'd say chuckling as he patted his shitty tier gear, "I also hope to upgrade this wardrobe too. But enough about me M'lady please lets talk about you." he'd say as he inquired about the female, "What kind of skills do you have, why is a hero to you and how can you help the guild succeed?" he'd ask some generic but vital questions as he headed back to the guild hall with her, had she decided to follow. Either way once having returned he'd make his way to the party; hopefully accompanied by the latest member, "Everyone I'm back." he said as his hands gestured to the female to introduce herself; had she decided against it and he truly arrived back alone he'd simply sit down and return to eating a bit. Lips parting to eat some of the food, his health bar would remain solid and the food bar increasing some.

Eyes shifted as he rejoined the conversation at hand. Lips parting he'd agree, "Yes yes, mini missions. Tomorrow will be the pairing for missions. But I think I have a better idea; I saw on the bounty board on my way in the desire for some things to be taken care of. I'd like for all of you to pair up in groups of two to three max and take on a bounty. This will help you earn gold, get us some good reputation as a whole and then we can use that to begin establishing our guild some credit." he'd say smiling, his attention shifting back to the small cat girl beside him after he spoke he'd smile, "Well since you're not big on combat, I suggest partnering with someone who is. Your skills in the field are a lot more helpful than you know; remember our fight with that plant beast. Don't sell yourself short kitten. Besides I'm sure you can gather ingredients and help heal your partner with potions and such. Yes, this plan is starting to sound better and better with each second; and I'm certain it's not the beer talking." he'd say chuckling as he continued to nibble at some chicken.
