  1. staring at death I take a breath

    Ah, such a world!

Her eyes stared at the blue sky, before they closed. This place was even better then home sometimes. Here she was free, and here she was glad to be. She had even joined a guild too! It was something she had never done before, in any game. She usually avoided such things, because people did so love their voice chat and honestly Lily couldn't pretend to be Wild Rose in actual voice either. But right now, she was at peace with the world. She was still around in whatever this place's name was - she had forgotten, or rather never looked it up - because she didn't feel ready to move on just yet. Of course, adventure was never to be had standing still.

Her fingers lifted to toy with the clip she had.

Ah, but debating like that was never productive! Soothing down her newbie clothes - that should be her next thing, looking for actual clothes that don't look like chewed out crap - she let out another nervous sigh. This time, she was intending to go adventuring alone. Probably not the best of ideas, but hey, who honestly cared? Not her, that's who. If anything, she could always throw a message in guild chat if needed. But she didn't need help, and so with a nod of her head, she found herself walking again. After all, these boots were made for walking! Yet, she paused another moment, indecisiveness making her stay her hand.

But shaking her head again, Wild Rose decided she had enough. Enough of letting her hesitation get her. This time, she moved, but with confidence even as she strode down the dirt path. There was nothing that would stop her now! Of course, she didn't account for the snaggle in the middle of the path. And when she tripped and landed on her face, it was like the fates were laughing at her. After all, who knew that tree roots could expand so far!? The forest was over there, quite a ways out. And yet, despite avoiding the forest because she knew she'd tripped, she ended up face first on a dirt road. Maybe she shouldn't try to avoid the forest? Well it didn't really matter at this particular second.

Spitting out the mouthful of dirt she had gotten was more important.

Dusting herself, she got up. Sighing, the girl stared towards the trees. And then she heard the small whispers. Deciding to go with it, she simply began to walk towards the forest, figuring it wouldn't hurt right? And with her curiosity, she found herself lost in the dense place within no time at all, the muttering of trees and plants a buzz in her ears. And Wild Rose knew, just knew, that today was going to be one of those days. A day where if she was by herself, nothing would make sense and it would all be weird, simply because she didn't have a goal in mind when she started the whole thing.

''Oh well, it could be worse.'' she said aloud, more so to hear her voice and not feel so alone then any other reason. ''A guildie could have seen me this whole time.''

Then, there was the sound of something walking on a branch.

    there's nothing left

  2. Akino meant what he had vowed to himself, the other day. What happened the other day you ask? Well, have you ever tangled with a giant demonic plant while experiencing the worst trip of the lifetime? Oh, and on the side of that, you got a helping of your own ally going whack-a-doo and deciding your head would look nice on his wall. All the poor felis wanted to do was help out the Boss Mon, but he had sorely underestimated the adventure itself. The realism, and the horror that came with it... You see some things, standing behind an enraged tank in berserk mode tripping out on poison clouds. Some harsh, real truths come to light about the road your life has taken you down. Well, the redhead saw those things and faced them truths. And watched about fifteen, or was it more than fifteen? He lost count after they all started becoming demons and the floor disappeared and-

Stopping to shiver with mild horror, he'd take a seat in a sunny patch of the forest. 'I sure as heck pulled through though... The fact that I didn't let Steele squash me into paste deserves some serious note.' They had reached their target of kills in the place by well over many Malefimancers, but they had still needed to take out that plant. Knowing that they had little time, Akino charged the plant itself while Steele took on the surrounding meat puppets. It was a good choice, he being a DPS while Steele distracted the others long enough to buy them time. Once he finished them off though, he succumbed to the intoxicating fumes the plants was releasing. 'Man, I thought he was horrifying to watch when he was dismembering people on the way up. Being on the other side of his sword is not something I plan on doing again. Especially not while I'm hallucinating.' The marked man could distinctly remember the sensations the poison had created within his mind. Steele was no longer himself, but rather small mountain of a demon, with a sword the size of a tree. Thankfully, the apparition was attacking the flora as well, so the distinction was clear.

In the end, the two survived the parasitic petunia and the toxins, knowing enough to flee once the plant was dead. Once out in the fresh air, and away from the infested castle, their minds quickly recovered. They discovered that the demons they were seeing were indeed one another, and were exulted that they had succeeded where they were sure they would fail. Against great odds, they persevered and saved some lives. Making the world a better place, it was a truly worthy reward. However, Akino could still feel those toothed vines wrapping around his body, and the screech of the insane laughter of tiny hell beasts as they clawed you down to the floor that has fallen away to emptiness. Reasonably disturbing stuff.

'All I need is to find that hot spring. A good ol' hot spring. Yeah a hot spring'll fix all my troubles. And some tea, heck yes. Some tea would be amazing!'
Suddenly, a series noises caused his ears to swivel, and his entire body to go still. After such a serious experience, he was a hyper-aware ball of tension. So he investigated for the possible chance it might be something uplifting and happy. He was in luck. Finding a laugh, it was a stumbling and befuddled looking girl from his guild. The Council member thought this might be a God planned event. Stepping out of the woods, his crimson tail would lash about in his wake as Akino stepped into the clearing, grinning.

"Mayhaps not the whole time, but I saw enough~ You'd make an excellent hiker!"
He began to chuckle a bit, bright eyes gleaming with relief.
