Here she was, sitting.
She was even crying in game. Wiping the tears angrily from her eyes, the blonde shook her head. Luckily for her, nobody was talking very much, and nobody seemed to want her attention either. No, rather she was in a corner of somewhere, trying to calm down. After all, she had just yelled at her parents, again. Ever since that damn broadcast, it's like everything's been... weird between them. Her father always seemed sad, but he was more tolerable then her mother. She was on a righteous rampage, telling Lily constantly how to do things and overall being over-bearing. It was like she took her daughter's words as a personal offense.
When a mail pinged, Wild Rose hurriedly finished wiping her eyes.
She flicked her wrist, and the menu was open in mere seconds. Reading the mail took a bit longer, because her eyes clouded over with tears again. After the third try, she could finally concentrate on the words. The girl didn't even respond to the mail, but she knew that he knew she would come. After all, Wild Rose had always come, even if she was late. She just didn't like to respond to mails all that well. Pretty unnecessary most of the time. With a tap, she had the location marked on her map. Raising an eyebrow, the girl was tempted to laugh, but could only manage a weak smile.
''How does he manage to do that? Every time it's always near me...'' she muttered to herself.
So with plans now in mind, she found herself standing up. With a breath, she let the final of her worries as Lily to slip away, simply becoming Wild Rose. Her green eyes were clear now, even as she made a note of where to go on the map. The easiest path was forward - how surprising - and it was actually well cleared for once. With another breath, she was walking now, her boots making soft sounds eaten alive by the peace of the forest. Yet, in the back of her mind, she could hear it. The buzzing of plants and nature, as if calling to her. She ignored it - it was very quiet after all, easy to ignore - but still, it lingered with her.
And then the sky turned red.
''What the...'' she began, but trailed off. Her eyes went wide - Steele was over there! And without hesitation, she began to take off, running down the long winding path to a special tree near the lake. It was the closest path to the lake, and something in her gut told her she'd want to see the tree anyways. But then, meteors fell, and landed. The earth shook beneath her feet, throwing her not only off balance, but on her butt too. The blonde felt a thrill of fear lance through her body. Was this what they meant, in the newscast? And for an instant, she could see it. A tree falling, crushing her, the slow painful death. And then, being awake, wondering if she could feel the pain even in her nightmares.
She shook her head however, there was no time to think about things like that! She quickly got to her feet, but the ground shook again, throwing her off again.
''Dammit!'' she hissed to herself. This was no joke! And then, as sudden as it happened, it was gone. She got to her feet gingerly, staring at the sky with narrowed eyes, biting her on her lower lip in worry. And so, without hesitation, she pushed her way back to the lake. Her feet were pummeling on the ground, and a shape in the distance was familiar to her. Relief went through her body, as she opened her mouth.
''Leader Steele! Thank the Fates you're alright!'' she called.
''Did you s- WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LAKE!?'' she started, only to see the lake. Her voice accidentally got loud, and her face seemed to be horrified.
''Oh no this is b-'' and then she stopped. Something, something was pulling at her. She hissed a breath in, even as her hands curled on her chest, as if clutching her heart.
''Leader Steele....'' she said. She let the words trail off, and tilted her head. Whispers, soft touches. There was something akin to sorrow within her, and for a moment it almost overwhelmed her again. Breathing in again, she turned to look at him, her eyes now flashing with feeling, her face set in determination.
''Wild Rose present sir! What is our next step.'' she said. Yes, that was the easiest way to handle this. Treat it like a normal mmo quest or something, and let the guild leader led the pair. And she knew she was being meek unlike her normal attitude, but her worried gaze kept looking out at the lake. There was something anxiety inducing about this situation, a pitt of dread settling at the bottom of her stomach. She really did not like this, there was something wrong. But she was not alone for it either, even as her gaze returned to her guild leader. Sure, he had just wanted to chat but this was more important then that wasn't it?
Or was it that Lily was bleeding into Wild Rose due to how disturbed her emotions felt right now?
