100 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN Felicitas sighed as she logged in, immediately following the call to muster. She found herself being shouted to the castle walls to help defend against the onslaught of elves and trees and gladly followed the orders she was given. She made her way up the walls, dodging windows and the arrows that came through as well as she could until she reached the top. She stopped once she found a nice arrow sllit to set up at, and braced herself to cast. She paused for a moment, seeing the Oakhearts advancing with the siege towers, or more importantly, the Treants accompanying them. Had she helped cause this by killing the three treants with Aaron? She shook her head, surely she didn't have that much influence over the game's events... She shook herself, putting the matter out of mind for the moment. She could ponder it later, once the castle wasn't under siege. Felicitas stared out the small window and found her target, beginning to chant. She grinned at the familiar feeling of energy building and rushing out of her. 'Ha!' She laughed as the fire hit, engulfing its target, and turned to find her next shot 62 + 5 = 67 http://spherical.link/terrarp/threads/roll-defending-the-wall.1494/#post-8556
Yladia Invasion [ 9694 / 10000 ] The nasty arrow fight continues as the siege towers continue to close the distance to the wall. They are close enough now that spells are starting to be exchanged alongside the arrows, the Yladian mages used all manner of evocative spells that begin to put pressure on the wall patrol. You no longer have to rely on siege weapons to get things done… but the fights are getting scarier now. Those who only fight in melee range should still be using defensive machineries. However, capable mages should now retaliate. Yladia AttacksDamage: Everyone who have posted thus far must subtract 15% HP and 10% EN from the appropriate bbcodes. Damage: Tanks with Geomancy, Hydromancy, Guard, Shield only lose 5% HP and 10% EN. There is still no change for support to heal for the moment, the arrow storm does not provide any opportunity for healing. 70 HP MAX HP 80 EN MAX EN The lines appeared to be closing in and the caster hummed curiously to themselves. From afar they were safe at present and casting only certain spells through the cards via the patrons kept the location of their side of firing from too much attention hard to follow a fireball to the source if it materialized in midair after all. The remaining siege equipment grew close enough that Rook retreated further up the tower toward their lackadaisical guild mate with a hiss of inhaled air between their teeth. "So many heavenward," they spoke lowly to the chaos, "So many paths to cut between the gates." With a quiet giggle they raised the deck once more, the cards shuffling with a flurry before the patron's cast their peace. King of Pentacles. The Lovers, Reversed. Knight of Pentacles. Control. Disharmony. Efficiency. A new force joined the fray. The glint of obsidian in the corner of their eye, the feeling of a figure standing nations tall, the grind of stone and a voice that was royalty and demand and right. Geomancy's patron slammed forth and spoke to the stone of the castle's walls. It shuddered, shook, and burst into spikes. The mages and fighters climbing their way up the siege equipment and onto the walls either ducked out of the way or were skewered or knocked off by spires of stone. The patron knew what the wall could afford to separate and sharpen and what must remain to keep integrity. Sadly there wasn't much it knew it could use. 12 + 10 = 22 (Roll) Defending the Wall
70 HP MAX HP 80 EN MAX EN She hadn't managed to take out enough of the long range weaponry to be satisfied with her work, but it hadn't stopped the elves. Yladia moved forward with the remaining siege equipment and began their attack nearer the walls with magic en masse. They weren't mounting the walls yet, but it was a close enough thing. Gwyn took the time to cut higher up the rubble and leap onto the back of an Oakheart, using its back to climb onto the branches of an old tree with little leafage. Enough branches to blur her location and visage, but not enough to stand between her and her aim. Normally a Scatter Shot would have been fitting to attack multiple men atop the castle walls, but even though she stood on the elven moral ground, she couldn't bring herself to kill them. Not yet at least. They didn't keep slaves after all. They were pompous nobles. They served them however, and protected them now. Gwyn wouldn't stand in the way of a people taking their justice. Peace could only ever accomplish so much. Instead the archer reached up two more Precision Shots and fired. One bolt sailed up to the walls and cleanly cut into a mage's grimoire, throwing it from their hands and back into the courtyard of the castle. That would soften their spells. The second bolt slammed into a loaded crossbow and from her position she couldn't tell if it had just startled to soldier or it it had actually managed to break of jam the crossbow. Good enough if it was a moment's pause. Sympathizer 59 + 15 = - 74 (Roll) Siege and Saboteur
100 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN Alpha had no idea what was going on. She had been enjoying herself at a particularly nice buffet in Stokbon that had tiramisu and sponge cakes when, suddenly, a portal had opened up before her. It seemed that none of the other NPCs noticed and, after much debate, she had risked her chances and went through, her companions still enjoying their food without her. It was then that she found herself atop a wall, with titanic Oakhearts and Treants crawling and attempting to topple over the structure she stood upon. She dimly noticed elves as well and, looking around, she came to a conclusion. "Oh my god, are we having some kind of messed-up game of Invaders over here?" she grinned, drawing her blade. And, with excitement brimming in her eyes, she jumped down with her dagger pointed down, ready to slice through any enemies below her. "This is gonna be so fun!" She never noticed the siege weapons below her. 82 + 20 = 102 (Roll) Defending the Wall
85 HP MAX HP90 EN MAX EN As the battle continued, Noah noticed many of his allies utilizing the giant machines that lined the walls. It seemed that they were able to use these mechanical machines as anti-siege instruments. Noah had no skills that allowed for range fighting so he thought that this might be his best option. The ground troops from the enemy had started to get a bit closer. Spells were being flung from both sides, of all shapes and sizes. Noah bite his lip, he was worried that he picked the wrong setting for this battle. Down below he saw various members from both sides engaged in melee style combat. That was where he really should be, but he had to remind himself that if the enemy was able to scale the walls, most of these troops and players would be at a disadvantage. For now though the enemy did not seem likely to be scaling the walls anymore anytime soon. Noah found a defensive anti siege weapon and started going to town. While he realized that some of the members on the other side would have been other players this did not stop him in slaughtering them. This was a world event after all. He was trying to get some prestige and perhaps a nifty item or two. 56+20=76http://spherical.link/terrarp/threads/roll-defending-the-wall.1494/#post-8587
70 HP MAX HP 80 EN MAX EN As soon as the other idiots were blown clean off the side of the tower, Rein was suddenly assaulted by a new player from up above. “What the hell!” Rein complained as he thrust his gauntlet into the blade’s path causing a shower of sparks to fly and steel met steel. This did not stop the flames, however, forcing Rein to duck underneath the flames sending him tumbling backwards towards the edge of the tower. The landing was too small, and Rein was moving to fast to stop him from falling backwards off the side of the building, as he did so, however he slung a small lightning bolt from his fingers at Val while screaming, “YOU BASTARD!” The words never reached Rein’s ears though as air suddenly began to rush past him. Falling with surprising speed, Rein shouted as the air ate his words. The force powering his magic heard them however as he immediately felt himself pushed up by air. He was still falling, but not nearly at an alarming rate. With some bit of effort, he pushed himself towards the castle. 90 HP MAX HP 80 EN MAX EN Progress. They had made progress this time. Aaron could feel it. That alone gave him strength, gave him resolve. When he chanted, beseeching the holy gods above for power in his next spell, he felt particularly strong in his faith. When his spell was launched toward the enemy, he couldn't help but grin in relief at the result. It was a bit stronger than his other attacks. Not by any large amount, but he knew it was. Yet still the enemy was coming. Once more, Aaron noted that he had taken damage, and exhaustion was setting in. How much longer could he fight? If only his health was going down, that would be fine, as eventually he would be able to cast healing spells once the tide of arrows slowed enough. But since his energy was decreasing even faster than his health, he didn't know if that was a good idea. He cursed. The conundrums this world forced upon it's players... die, or pass out from exhaustion? He hoped someone was preparing relief to restore energy in some way. 80 + 15 = 95 http://spherical.link/terrarp/threads/roll-defending-the-wall.1494/#post-8600
Groaning as he awoke to increased fighting, Earley snuck away from the wall's tower and the wall's front lines in adherence with Merkaba's orders not to get killed. It was his interpretation of events that this situation was not one he needed to be in, and moving quietly, he made his way from the castle and into the security of the wilderness, opposite the invading forces. 100 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN Ju’s steps were light and calm. The grappler moved against the warm breeze of the large grassy hills northward of brishal. Her eyes of color that matched the blue and clear sky couldn’t stop staring at the peaceful and steady pace at which the clouds crossed the vast sky. The woman’s lips curled up in satisfaction as little by little she started to enjoy the blessings this world had to offer. Her peaceful moments quickly came to an end, however, as a she could hear a beep. A chill immediately ran down her spine; Ju had very few friends and even fewer would message her. As her fingers tapped on the system menus, she realized what the message was about and her previous chill intensified. WAR. Her brows immediately furrowed as she stopped her slow walking pace. The sudden stop led to her goblin, Gobbu, to hit its big droopy nose on her legs, in response, her shaded face locked on the creature’s small build. “S-SSSORY PINKY! I DIDN’T MEAN TO!” Ju's response was no more than a loud huff. “Gobbu, Falderen is in war with Yiladia. They’re attacking castle Dormont, and I’m heading there. Get back to home, and don’t set your feet in Adecus forest if you want to live. Got it?” Without waiting for any response Ju accepted the system prompt and was teleported to the castle. A quick glance over the situation was enough for her to decide on her course of action; defense. Ju sprinted out towards the outer areas of the castle, near the wall – there, she found two elven warriors pushing back a wounded guard alone. Ju leaped and landed on top of one of the eleves after forcing it to the ground with a dropkick. Ju quickly raised her right foot and stomped it on the elf’s neck and a quick twist of her foot would ensure a loud crack could be heard. Ju wasn’t one to take sides, but war was an entirely different matter. If they were prepared to wage war, they were prepared to die. If they wanted to die, so be it. 47 + 0 = 47 (Roll) Defending the Wall
100 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN Beatle looked around the chaos, lost, dazed, and confused. Why was all this happening? What was there to gain from war? It was clear that Beatle didn’t know enough about the situation to think too much about anything, but it was obvious that sides were being taken. Beatle watched players and NPCs alike scrambling left and right, tending to wounded, repelling attackers, using the mounted weaponry on the wall. And why? Beatle couldn’t ask the questions he needed to, because there was simply not enough time to type up a message and there was nobody in the immediate vicinity he knew enough to ask non-verbally. His curiosity taking over, Beatle climbed to the top of the wall to get a good look at the attackers. Risky as it was with all the arrows and magic flying overhead, Beatle couldn’t simply choose a side without knowing both side’s stories. He used his size to his advantage, sneaking up the stairs whilst hugging the wall. At the top, he found himself near a ballista, providing enough cover to see that the attackers were none other than the Elven race, popularly seen as the slaves of nobles in Falderen. Beatle didn’t know much about them, but he at least knew a thing or two about racism in this world. He’d been discriminated against for his size and the points on his ears by the NPC’s of this land, and this was enough to make him choose. It was a game after all, what’s the harm in playing Devil’s advocate? Beatle mustered all his strength, forcibly turning the ballista to aim at another Ballista nearby, and fired. He didn’t wait around long enough to see if it hit it’s intended target, because he knew that he was now in enemy territory. 70 HP MAX HP 80 EN MAX EN Rook watched the fighting with sharp eyes as the assembled guilds and other unaffiliated players ran about like beheaded fowl. Such a fight they put up and for what? They didn't quite understand the politics of the fight going on, not that they cared to know, but it was still rather odd. So many lives were being put on the line for something nebulous, something stone, something in pride or borders or blood. They remained in the tower with wide, watchful eyes are were slow to attempt another spell. Why should they? A curious venture this whole thing was. The caster swung their legs over the high divide and kicked their heels against the edge. A wisp of mana was cast out to the cards and The Many answered. The Cindered Queen cared for none of it, as she had no stake in it, though she kept an eye on the Felis and pyromancers as they fought through Rook's eyes in interest. How vain of her. The Biting Squall was interested in a chance to lash out and move the world with their fury, but the arrival of Geomancy's patron had quelled it. Perhaps there was more to their interactions or their personalities clashed oddly. They reached out to the entity and The Hewn King answered with only a dismissive brush of power. None spoke through the cards, however. They were waiting for something. For the time being the Velten would idly whisper a memorized chant beneath their breath and lean forward just enough to spy the central support for one of the larger siege engines. The bolt of Arcanamancy was a brilliant, lavender light that cut through the wood cleanly. There was a groan of wood, a slow splintering, and a snap as the thing began to cave under its own weight. 78 + 10 = 88 (Roll) Defending the Wall
85 HP MAX HP 90 EN MAX EN Felicitas had to turn away from the window to avoid some of the arrows and spells that were starting to make it to her, but under the onslaught she couldn't avoid them all. Her mind set into am angry hum as she noted the dents the arrows were making in her armor. She would have to fix those, or make new armor after this. She sighed, noting that the siege towers were much closer now, and settled herself to cast again, hoping to take out some of those archers. Felicitas began her chant, her voice colored with dread. This didn't feel like just a game to her, where she was an outsider helping events. This was probably the first battle of a war, and one she might have had a hand in. It felt real, too real. She stared intently as her spell hit, engulfing another target. More blood on her hands. She realized she didn't even know the kingdom chew was fighting for that well. She was a merc, pulled into a war by her crafting and by her questing. She let her eyes flutter shut for just a moment, and breathed. She would get through this, she decided, whether she died or not. 26 + 5 = 31 http://spherical.link/terrarp/threads/roll-defending-the-wall.1494/page-2#post-8607
70 HP MAX HP 80 EN MAX EN Gwyn lowered her bow for a moment as she watched the fighting continue to swirl beneath her perch and out up and over the walls of the castle. She bore her teeth in a snarl, firing off one more shot to knock a shield from a soldier's grasp from the force of her arrow's strike, and turned to head down the tree she'd taken as a temporary sniper's nest. She slid through the branches carefully despite the tremble in her hands and the unsettling pit of emotion curdling in her stomach. "This is so fucked up, this is so fucked," she said in a voice that would have been a scream if she hadn't been speaking through her clenched teeth. Couldn't they see? Could they not see they were defending people who stole the freedoms of races because they were 'lesser' or 'pretty.' People weren't decorations for arms or tools for fetching food. It was a problem at in the nobility, in the Kings and Queens and Courts of a nation that did this, but there came a point when it was cultural as well. All of history had shown that defending slavers only ever meant you ended up on the wrong side of history. Could they imagine their family and friends stolen away to be someone's pet? Could they imagine that and not immediately will themselves to be at arms? Would they let a loved one rot under the heel of an oppressor... rather than bloody their hands? How selfish. The needs and rights of the many outweighed a man with a golden crown sitting on his temples. Her boots hit the ground as she moved across field, ducking behind the Treants and siege equipment as they moved ever closer. She wished the other force would give. That they would surrender, negotiate their terms, free their slaves, give the elves a reason not to see violence as the only factor. She was an outdoors woman, but she'd once watched her cousin play an old game, some odd thing on the consoles of old, where a man spoke of peace and freedom and equality. He did it for decades while tortured, kidnapped, while he ran for his life, while he healed people, while he wrote long hours into the night about how it could be fixed. In the end no one listened. In the end one too many died. In the end he was the straw that broke the camel's back and all the nations of their world broke with it. All because they never cared to listen. 85 HP MAX HP90 EN MAX EN Noah stood behind the defensive machine, blasting off attacks as quickly as he could. While this machine was strange for him to use at first, after a few minutes his body and mind was able to fully grasp it and understand what it was capable of. The elves and treants seemed to be pushing closer and closer to the castle despite the defense of players and NPCs. Where did these creatures come from? They had to be based somewhere nearby to mobilize a force this large without any warning. He knew that this region of Terrasphere was less explored than the other regions and new areas had been opening up as players discovered them. Did a player perhaps enter these race’s home turf and stir up trouble? If that was the case that player would need to come and admit their faults. Noah honed in on a particularly large looking oaken heart and started firing the weapon off. His aim was directly at the beast’s head. His aim was not the best but he was still managing to hit the beast here or there. Not only was his attacks hitting the large creature there were a few scattered around the massive beast that were taking damage from the stray attacks. He had taken a small bit of damage so far, mainly from arrows sideswiping him, here or there. While it was nothing too serious right now, the damage would add up over time and could cause him to flee. He just hoped that the other side was defeated before then. 12+20=32 http://spherical.link/terrarp/threads/roll-defending-the-wall.1494/page-2#post-8635
