  3. As the assault onto the trees broke underway, they seemed to be bashing up and doing some serious damage; yet for some reason now. It seemed less effective, maybe some spell cast or their weapons durability giving and no longer piercing. Was that what was cast on them earlier for a buff. Either way, despite being in his berserk mode he seemed to be putting out less damage than before. As such he'd only become more furious, so much so that he'd go all out. His body moving just as fast and trying to keep up with her as good as he could; trying to block incoming attacks and giving her as many openings from these strikes as possible. He'd grunt some as he took a mighty blow, that caught him off guard; sending him sliding back, yet raising of his shield a giant gap was left open for @The Admiral to make a significant blow to the massive beasts in question.

Yet as successful as they appeared; the brave soldiers would be knocked back with some powerful moves. His own mighty body and armor shaking at the core; a pretty good chunk of health dropping since the beginning now as he Neared the eighty percentage mark, "What the fuck hit me..." he'd say in retaliation to the ground slam technique; feeling himself stun locked a bit but only briefly. The earth finally still enough to move he'd look back, "Y'all okay? Keep an eye on us, let's get back in there guys." he'd roared once more going all hulks some might call it on the tree in question.

His shield slamming up against it as he hacked away with the sword, his rage growing as he felt a sudden burning on the inside; almost as if his rage was reaching a peak just waiting to burst and lay waste to this being the moment he was given the chance. "LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR...!" he'd Shout singing; his voice horrific but most likely the plan to draw more aggro, "THAT ALL YOU GOT! WEAK....YOUR SISTER HITS HARDER!" he'd continue to taunt in hopes his words might enrage if not amuse and make the situation a bit lighter. His mind still fairly focused on the situation; humor his own way of combating the difficult situation and reality; this was war and war changes.

  7. The giant tree beast struck with impunity. Merkaba had taken her attention off of the creature thinking that she could expect others to finish off what her raining spears at started... of course not. Why did she keep making that mistake? Everything had to be done by her obviously. The witch refused to fall off her balance and slammed her scythe blade end into the ground. Dragging back some from the shock wave of the strike. Her eyes grew redder from malice. So these single minded tree hugging simpletons were going to fight back in earnest at last? About time although they still seemed utterly strategy deficient in her mind. She gathered her dark mana and saw a elf approaching with a sword in hand. Her hand shot out and several tendrils of pure darkness wrapped themselves around the elfven warriors neck. His face began to melt off as his skull screamed in anguish before she tossed the body into another group of the elven fighters.

The she chanted some more generating her Malefic Spheres to keep short ranged enemies at bay and placed herself in a more stable position. Her scythe would be spun in her hands as she chanted her next spell this time for the Oakheart. She would curse it's massive body with her more severe ailments to bring it to ruin. It would make the most wonderful table for her guild hall in the future....

  11. The force of the blow seemed strong enough to blow several of the front line fighters back, and she watched as Roland was knocked down. Even shielded from most of it as she was, the shockwave still had her stumbling back. She watched as the armoured girl jumped onto the boss, only to start screaming in terror. Who the fuck does that if they can't tolerate heights? She wondered, amused. Now that she'd been given a reprieve from the constant stream of damage though, she could finally focus on bringing the party's overall health back up to a less perilous amount.

Looking at everyone's health she was torn between healing Dempsey or Roland, but in the end it was the latter's status as a tank that made the decision for her. He should live through one more round, and if the witch didn't take too much damage in the next attack she made up her mind to heal him next. A white flare grabbed her attention, and she shot a look at the Oakheart, before glancing over to Jack. He's using energy for damage too? Well, if the more experienced healer thought it a good idea, she'll follow his example as well.

Even at the strongest magnitude that she could manage, a simple heal wasn't hard to cast, and now that she wasn't being attacked she could finally focus long enough to attempt more sophisticated means of casting. With one hand, Amane rapidly started to trace out the gestures for the single heal, but this time, her other hand began to go through the motions of casting as well, timing the second spell to be cast immediately after the first.

Just as a white stream of light shot towards Dempsey, enveloping the white haired felis in a warm light upon contact, a gate of light appeared under the boss, symbols hovering of a split second before exploding in a blast of light, the holy damage searing the monsters' wooden skin. "Sorry." She shot an apologetic look at @Roland Rutledge, "I'll heal you next if I can, promise!"

  14. Clinging to the mossy and rough bark face of the ent, the Admiral gave several shrill shrieks of terror as she looked at the ground and Jack who seemed to be rather critical of her at the moment. Not that she cared, because… well. “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! …AHHHHHHHHH! …AHHHHHHHH!”

The pauses came from the fact that she would, after a scream, glance up at the sky and be relatively normal… because it was easy not to associate elevation when you couldn’t reference the ground. Every time she glanced back down there was an overwhelming urge to crawl inside the ent’s mouth and live there for the rest of her life, to avoid the risk of falling. She’d log out if she wasn’t so scared of slipping out of the branch of its beard! Still… If being unable to see did the trick, then it did the trick.

“I’m going to close my eyes Jack! You’re gonna have to direct me okay? Okay! Good talk!” Closing her eyelids, the game went dark and she listened to the chaos erupting around her. The scythe-witch seemed to be slicing people apart from the sounds of the screams and splatter. Someone in the healing group was apologizing to someone else for not giving them healing. She felt her own life bar increase as warmth washed over her, and clutching the branch with her legs again, she continued to hit the head of the enormous ent.

    Direct Combat - Enraged Oakheart

    [ 23 / 800 ]

The Oakheart is now enraged, which in turn forces all of the Treant that was still alive to become enraged as well. They begin to attack without abandon. Although the Oakheart has been holding onto the massive rock all this time, it quick slam it down into the ground and began stomping wildly, attempting to squish the melee assaulters beneath its feet. It also used its claws to rip the earth out and tossed them at the attackers in the back. These earth plates carried Treants with them as well, which leapt at the backline with glowing red eyes.

    Damage
Enraged Stomps: All melee characters must subtract 40% HP and 30% EN from the appropriate bbcodes.

Enraged Earth Throw: All ranged characters must subtract 25% HP from the appropriate bbcodes.

Tanks with Geomancy, Hydromancy, Guard, Shield only lose 30% HP.

Those with rogue can reduce damage by 5% per relevant tier (excluding beginner).

-1% for each blue gear. -2% for each green gear.

    Healing
Support (Naturamancy, Illumancy, and Muse) can do damage and heal this round.

Single Target Healing: base 3 + 2 per mastery tier (excluding beginner, but +5 if Expert) = final %.
Cost: You must pay half of that amount in energy cost (round up).

AoE Healing (max 3 targets): base 3 + 2 per mastery tier (excluding beginner, but +5 if Expert) = final # divided by 2 (Round up).
Cost: The final # (before you divide by 2). E.g. 6% AoE heal means 11% EN cost.

    Counter-Measure
For this cycle, anyone with Pyromancy will get +10 modifier to their roll per mastery tier (except beginner). +20 for Expert rank. Oakhearts and Treants are weak against fire.

Also, tank and support should divide their final score by 2 because they are not DPS, thus, do less damage in direct combat.

  18. The creature was completely enraged now, swinging wildly, and attempting to crush anything and anyone in it's path, even accidentally crushing a few of it's own kind in it's blind fury. She sensed the thing beginning to weaken, and readied herself for another energy blast attack. It was too dangerous to get close to the thing with it thrashing about and attempting to crush her beneath it's feet. The small bit of healing from Amane was a bit of a boon, but she couldn't help but notice

With a heavy sigh, she he formed the seals for her energy attack once again and let lose, but even that slight delay was enough to make her a target, and she was struck almost dead on, which did little to improve her situation. Though she wasn't gravely injured, she could tell that the parties healers were already struggling to keep up.

As the Oakheart was destroyed by the party’s combined effort, the husk of the unresponsive giant slowly fell onto the ground, producing a powerful gust of air from the point of its impact. After a short while, the husk exploded in a spectacular fashion as scalding hot steam burst outward. Despite the air pressure and burning steam, it had no visible impact on the party’s health. At that moment, all of the Treant that was still alive dropped onto the ground as their eyes slowly dimmed into nothingness.

If the party pressed forward, they can see a woman, with long ears and white hair curled up inside a massive crater that was produced from the explosion from earlier. When she came to, her eyes widened in alert as she quickly covered her nudeness before speaking to you in a rather accented tone of voice. “W-wait, please, I know this is war but we mean you no harm, we are simply responding to Falderen’s apathy toward helping our cause. That was what led to this conflict in the first place, please as newcomers, you must know how it feels to be treated differently too. Surely, you can relate to our situation,” she pleaded.

  20. Despite the typical nonsense that the Admiral showed in the heat of combat, this… newer persona adopted by the character DID have a degree of military decorum to it. Looking the elven woman over, she glanced at her allies and took a single step over, facing her group, standing at military parade rest.

“It is poor form, even if they are the enemy, to slay a surrendered officer. We should capture them as a prisoner of war, and treat them with courtesy as is fitting in most articles of war.”

  21. Dempsey was one of the first to reach the woman, and turned to the gathering band of adventurers, looking to her fellow adventurers one by one. She addressed the crowd, uncharacteristically speaking up and seeking the attention of the group.

"Regardless of the reasons, it makes no sense to kill this woman. Either we can hear her out, or turn her over to the humans as a prisoner, perhaps for a reward? Either way, we stand to gain nothing by putting her blood on our own hands. I say she lives."

  22. Merkaba saw that the Oakheart may have actually been a elven woman possibly a shaman of some kind. Yes... beg for mercy you wretched follower of false gods. The Dark Lady was uncertain if they would listen to her, however it did not really matter.

"Ignorant. Let her live so that she may use further ploys against us? The Yladian have magic abilities that we may not have yet seen. You want to risk your lives... fine. I could care less. I may just use her body to sap some life from as tribute..."

  25. The battle over; Steele fairly wounded he'd call out for some heals. Walking forth in the wake of the massive beast he'd note the other talking; hearing them briefly as well as the woman pleading for her life he'd shake his head,"Despite you pleading for your life I say we grant it to her for now, hear her out and see what's up. War has two stories, the victor is not always correct. Worst case scenario its bullshit and we kill her or maybe she helps us end this diplomatically and saves some lives." he said being blunt.

    OOC: Live for now....

  26. A soft snort sounded from the man’s nostrils as he’d watch with a disgruntled expression. Though not particularly fond of sparing combatants that had nearly claimed their own lives, the situation as a whole didn’t make sense. Why declare war on a third party due to unwillingness to assist? Any reasonable person would accept having a neutral faction in times of crisis over an additional foe.

“Let’s hear her out. She can be put to the guillotine after an interrogation if need be.”

Standing up with her hands still covering her delicates, she took a deep breath before speaking once more. “My name is Vlethela, and I am one of the druid in training. I know it looks bad that we are attacking this place and may seem like the aggressor to you, but we have begged for Falderen's help for years. Our land are dying because of the demons in the north, they have taken hold of nearly all of our land and livelihood and have pushed us further south until we have nowhere else to go. For our specie to survive, we must protect what is called a Glade, it is a life-line for the Elves and we are on the precipice of losing it if we don't push this way. I know war isn't a solution, but if anything Falderen has forced our hands and even exploited our people. Would you really fight for a nation like that?”

Looking at the party with pleading eyes, she continued. “If you had any heart, you would come to our aid. While we may have bad seeds on our side, it is never our intention to hurt anyone, we simply want to migrate south so we may sustain our race and fight back against the demons in the north. If you have no interest in helping us, that's fair enough, after all, war is war, but I must warn you that it is dangerous beyond here. Yladia has eyes and ears everywhere. It will be dangerous if you don't get back to your side soon."

  29. "We should consider helping them, though it's too early to commit entirely..." The Admiral mused aloud to the others, tapping the fingers of a hand against her hip pensively.
"A scouting force to determine the truth of her words is what's needed; one that can quickly ascertain the truth, and report back. If what she's saying is true, perhaps a truce can be reached, and refugee camps erected... Until the threat is dealt with. It's the swiftest path to peace."
