    Nature is Important Too

The war raged as the two armies fought, adventurers arriving on scene to help defend the kingdom. Here and there, Oakhearts, treants, and elves were attacking, not even paying attention to what was in there path. And what was in there path included wildlife, so who else would be at the scene? Kit.

She looked more serious than usually, eyes narrowed as she focused on directing the creatures onto wagon that was being pulled by an anxious horse. It was off to the side and being, thankfully, avoided by most of the enemy fleet, as who really cared about a small chick saving animals? Anyways, you happen to some across her frantically shooing her in, but the animals are scared out of their wits and one girl- And her small bunny, were not quite that handy alone.

Unfortunately, she has little to no time to say anything to you as you walk over, only quickly pointing at the animals and then the wagon as if gesturing what she needs you to do. Quite self explanatory, right?

    ~Rules~

Anyone can participate, regardless of when they last won a mini egg, but it is one character per ooc account.
Your post must be a minimum of 200 words describing how you coaxed/forced an animal into the wagon, that being said, no harming the wild life.
You must also make a roll in this thread. It must be above 75, or your success to coax a frightened animal to safety will have failed.
You may only post once these whole event, there are no second chances, but whoever rolls above 75 will all get an egg.
Regardless where you are stationed, you can participate. You will not be attacked nor can you attack, even for the sake of the rp post.

  2. While passing by on the way to join up with the assault team, Jack had come across a rather curious sight. Between the various flying projectiles, spells and boulders, a young woman was scurrying about in an attempt to rescue various woodland creatures that had been caught in the crossfire. Though a bit skeptical as to whether her efforts were in vain or not, the dark haired man let out a sigh as he’d shake his head wearily while jogging over to aid her. Considering how the two had met and interacted before, it’d be rather heartless for him to not even pause a moment to help her corral her friends to safety.

Though conservative with his energy (for the real fight had yet to begin), he’d begin cautiously herding various small creatures towards the wagons for safety while waving his arms to help guide their movements. For the more persistent creatures, Jack would reach into his pouch to offer various incentives such as berries and nuts. As for the most stubborn of the lot, he’d simply resort to a bit of inspirational magic. In an attempt to mitigate their fears, a boon of courage was bestowed upon even the most timid of woodland friends, allowing them to make their way across the battlefield to safety.

  3. Why, in the midst of all this fighting, was Kit and her clueless cart of corralled cute and cuddly critters cavorting carelessly through cruel and capricious copse of cedar such as these! Wow… Think that one five times fast. She focused her attention on the archers around her, hoping that they would rather deal with the berserker smashing their faces in with a table leg than bring harm to the girl who was trying to wrangle and herd back onto her cart. The foot soldiers with her seemed to be handling things well and Jack was keeping them all standing. She was fine to ignore Kit until the familiar face of Gwyn was seen, trying to tame beasts and move them onto the cart to assist the girl. Groaning, the Admiral ran over to knock some sense into the archer woman and get her head back in the fight.

“I don’t know if you noticed,” she panted, face and armor red with the blood of elves. “…butt there’s a war happening here. So, can we wrap this up quickly, and get you back to shooting some of the invading bastards? I’d uh… take it as a kindness if you focused on the mages, right?” Smiling, she picked up a… thing. These animals got weird sometimes. Calmly, she patted its head and put it in the wagon to assist Kit and Gwyn, then ran back to the fight where she was more needed.

    • OOC: Gwyn and I elected to "bump into one another" for flavor with this, particularly because we're on opposite sides without Admiral knowing

  4. Sera had made a foray into the forest to gather some supplies, and she was glad she did. She had stumbled across a woman who was trying her best to herd animals, to rescue them. Sera paused. These lives were innocent too, weren't they? They deserved rescued as well.

It wasn't hard for Sera to asssit in this process. Tapping into her Astramancy, and through that her naturalmancy, it was only a brief chant before she was able to influence the minds of some animals nearby and suggest they get to the safety the wagon.

While that spell didn't use a whole bunch of energy, it used enough. She wasn't sure how much help that was, whether any of the animals would actually even make it to where they needed to, but it was all she could do. She sighed heavily. "I hope that helps," she said, loud enough for the NPC woman to hear, as she returned to her own duties of gathering supplies for the defense of the castle.

  5. The fury of the fighting was crippling some part in her and Gwyn fought to keep her breathing calm. She didn't know fear, never had in the waking world and had no reason to do so here. For the first time, however, she felt an unsettling in her bones that might be akin to such a feeling. Maybe she was frightened, but it didn't matter. She couldn't let it matter here when there was such a moral weight upon her shoulders. The lesser of the two evils was clear enough to trust diving in, but there were more people on this playing field. More lives than just one nation versus the other. The beast tamer caught sight of Kit and her heart dropped through to her stomach. The poor girl was out here in the middle of this? Saving fucking pets.

Gwyn stumbled to a stop, eyes glancing toward the fighting, but found herself falling in line to help. Just for a moment, just for a second, just for a blissful moment she could pretend like she wasn't about to fuck over her friends because of her moral issues over fake, digital people. With kind eyes despite the blood she could already feel on her hands, she lulled a twinned pair of pets forward into her arms where she scooped them up gently with a soft coo, learned from her rabbit's happier days. They settled just as The Admiral arrived. The pets in her grasp prevented her from grabbing her arms and she was thankful for it. The damned woman didn't know. Hadn't seen. Hadn't pieced it together yet. Her heart was breaking, damn this stupid game.

"Of course, Admiral." She said with a mock salute after she'd placed the pets in the cart. "Aye, aye." Before the ranger finished, the warrior was gone. Her steps felt heavier for every step Gwyn took backwards... the way the other had come.

  6. As the male made his way about the land he'd not be bothered to join the ongoing events of the world, instead, he kept to himself. Eyes shifting he'd soon see the animals running amuck and realize she'd need help. Pushing up on his glasses he'd contemplate whether this was worth his time or if it was a dead end; it beat getting involved a war he cared little for, at the same time he recognized the name of this NPC as the girl who gave out eggs, was this one of those random mini events. During a major one, fuck it. He'd test his luck and attempt to help gather the animals. First starting with a fairly big horse, but seeing as it was too stubborn to move and he lacked the riding skill he threw his hand up, "I give up...it's too fat."

he'd mutter as he'd try something simpler a sheep. Leading it over with a rope he managed to get it so far only to be headbutt by it and curse, "FUCK YOU THEN GET TURNED TO LAMB CHOPS!" he was becoming frustrated and irritable, his tone shifting as he went to pick up a turtle and help place it in the wagon; easy enough right? Nope, the damned thing would bite his finger before he pulled it back ready to blast it to high heavens. Looking over to see the girl give him a disapproving look he figured it best not to piss off an NPC he could use at a later date. "Screw these damn animals, If it wants to die let'em." he'd say storming off as he gave up.

  7. Fire arrows were whizzing across the sky, lighting the dark background afire. Yet amid the confusion, Astor spotted a dubious-looking girl struggling with her animal next to the castle. Inspecting his war-torn surrounding, Astor thought about leaving her there to die, but something didn’t sit right with him. Who knows what the elves would do to her if she was caught. When he looked a bit more carefully, it would appear that she was concerned about the animals running around wildly in a panic.

After he let out an irritated grunt, the detective wonder to himself why he even bother caring about dumbasses who have not a single care for their surroundings. Darting his head around, Astor found the ladder leading down, which he immediately took and ran out of the castle, into the forest to assist the world.

“Ooooy, what are you doing out here? In case you’re wondering, we are kind of in the middle of a war?!” he shouted at the girl. Though, she replied in gestures, pointing to the animals and then the wagon.

Grunting again, he blew the blond bang out of his face before he made a mad dash over to the animals and used fire to put them into a proper path, right into the wagon. His mastery over fire was high enough that he wasn’t afraid of burning the wooden transportation down. Once all of the animals were secured, he waved to Kit, shooing her.

“Get out of here, be gone with you!”

  8. Taking a break from helping repair the walls, Ash decided to venture out of the walls for a bit to see what was going on. Hopefully without getting in anyone's way; she was basically worthless in a fight, and viscerally aware of it too.

She hadn't expected to see a girl trying to herd a veritable zoo back into a wagon, but there were stranger things that had happened to her.

"Hey!" Ash called, making her way over. As she got closer, Ash was surprised to realize that she recognized the girl; she was the one who ran the egg nursery, wasn't she? The little cooing sounds from the bat at her neck, her beloved Minipet, seemed to confirm it. Well, that explained all the animals at least. "Need some help?"

Seeing the trouble that Kit was having, Ash surveyed the scene. Most animals were wandering about, but she caught sight of a small bear cub making a break for it into the undergrowth. "Oh no," she said, rushing after it.

"Hey, hey, calm down now," Ash said as she walked after it. "I won't hurt you..." She called up a bit of her magic and grew a small handful of berries in her palm, hoping to lure it back. Luckily it took the bait, and she led the cub back towards Kit's wagon with a sigh of relief.

  9. "It's okay, don't worry!" she attempted to calm the shivering doe. It was tiny; not even as tall as Luna when she stood on all fours. The forest was alight with mayhem and violence and Alpha was confused as to why a group of people who would call themselves druids and elves would lay waste to such a serene place of nature. Despite her placating gestures and sweet tone, the doe stood still, frozen and scared, as she gently approached. She took no breath as she closed the distance between them, hoping that she wouldn't suddenly scare the deer off into danger. "I'm going to help you, alright?" she whispered with just a few touches of nature magic lingering on the sweet words dancing out of her parted lips. By the time that she managed to sufficiently calm the doe down and wrap her arms around it, cooing at the tiny baby, she noticed that the conflict still raged on and narrowly dodged a stray arrow from the battlefield. She frowned, noticing a carriage nearby filled to the brim with animals and, in there, was a familiar figure that she had met once or twice.

"Kit?" she called out, waving. She tried to get the girl's attention as best as she could with her arms busy keeping the deer in her grip but, upon seeing that the carriage had stopped, she rushed to the construction's doors with the critter still in her arms. She quickly came to the conclusion that the woman was evacuating the wildlife around the area; from what little she knew of Kit, she knew that the breeder was fond of animals in general and had a certain air to her which reminded her of Nalani. Also, Alpha knew she couldn't bring the doe to safety herself in this situation without a vehicle of some sort and, as of thus, the best way to approach this would be to hand the four-legged creature to someone more equipped to handle the consequences of protecting an animal in a full-on war. "I got a little deer! You're taking them out of here, right? Can you take her too?" she gestured to the trembling bundle in her arms. And then she noticed Kit's gestures and promptly placed the deer in the wagon before taking a breath, exhausted from carrying the ten pound deerling. She looked down at the deer once last time before she left. "You stay safe, okay?"

  10. Zaos had stumbled onto the scene on his way to the castle that was under attack. His small form made it harder for enemies to find him, and so he managed to reach the area relatively unscathed. It was then the faerin found the wagon and the girl frantically trying to coax various animals into it. Nodding to show he understood her directions, Zaos set off into the surrounding bushes to see what he could find. He nearly tripped over a hedgehog a moment later, the small creature half-hidden under a bush.

"Hello there," he said softly, backing up and crouching down to get a better look at the trembling animal. "I know you're scared, but you can't stay here. It's dangerous, see?" To prove his point, a band of attacking elves crashed through the undergrowth nearby, howling war cries and brandishing weapons. The hedgehog squeaked and shuffled further underneath the bush and Zaos sighed. This might be easier if he had the Beast Tamer mastery.

"Are you hurt? I can heal you right here." He had practiced enough that he accessed his healing magic with a few flicks of his hand, but his palms had barely started to glow when the hedgehog bolted. The faerin stared in the direction it had gone for a few moments, then cancelled the spell and stood. He was needed at the castle, so someone else would have to try and rescue the animals. It hurt him to leave them behind in the warzone, but he wasn't about to risk his life to save them. Not now, at least.

  11. Seeing a woman, a girl really, struggling to coax various frightened animals (or perhaps creatures was some correct term) into the wagon was so startling that Ilusa paused from her healing duties and walked over, watching it curiously for a moment.

It was clear that the girl was fleeing and was not seen as an enemy by any side; in fact was so inconsequential, so out of the midst of the fighting that many probably completely overlooked her and the menagerie she had. Various creatures, tiny and bit big, some fluffy, others looked like full of spikes, ferocious, were it not for their rather small statue.. That made them look instead adorable. Like little lion cubs trying to look terrifying. Trying and failing. Looking adorable, yet showing hints of the dangerous beast they would grow into.

The girl was silent, trying to coax another animal onto the wagon, but the look and gesture she made were quite easy to interpret. It was a plea for help and while normally she would have ignored it, no one here needed healing, her energy bar was getting a bit low, so taking a breather and coax another animal into the wagon seemed like good way to have the Stamana Bar fill.

It was not as if coaxing the animals, regardless of their unusual looks, was hard now, was it?

She smiled and crouched to one of the beings hiding under a bush. It looked bit feline, just like she so that fit, right? “Here cutie, cutie, cutie, come out. Let’s get you to a safe place.”

…Alas it was much harder than she thought and as the animal lashed out, hissing, almost swiping her with the surprisingly sharp claws that had managed to make gouges in the ground, Ilusa decided that perhaps she could take a breather elsewhere and after giving a helpless look to the girl, she vacated that place.

  12. The fog lay on the battlefield without mercy. As if it wasn’t hard enough to bolster morale to churn through a forest, add to it the gray nothingness that swallowed your hand in front of your eyes and you were really asking for a lot. The constant calls from scouts and the readjustments demanded made it more bearable. Hardly.

But Aeiou was surprised that the rattling and shouting and grunting hadn’t scared off whatever creatures roamed in these woods. Especially when one of those creatures wouldn’t typically be found. Like a pig. A shockingly clean, terrified, domestic pig zig-zagging amongst the troops. That just … didn’t make any … what?

Not doing much to move the towers, Aeiou figured his help might best serve in other places … like … pig wrangling. He tip-toed amongst the ferns, making sure to keep the pigs’s back to him. He inched up, closer and closer. The pig was feet in front of him now, and he could see the large creature’s rump quivering as it froze in place.

Aeiou jumped on to the pig’s back. It was no longer frozen. No, it was very animated.

The swine let out a terrified squeal and bucked and reared, immediately wrenching Aeiou. He let out a gasp of air as he hit the ground harder than expected. He rubbed his lower back as he stood up and watched the pig disappear into the mist.

  13. Kit

    Kit

As the war drew to a close, Kit approached you, smiling sweetly as she looked at you with a thankful expression.

"Thank you for your help, adventurer. With your assistance, all the animals have been saved and will be brought back when the forest is cleaned up for their arrival. And for your reward..."

She paused as she pulled an egg out from behind her back, handing it over to you. "Enjoy."

Wooden Mystery Egg - This egg is purely made out of wood. It is quite heavy to lift, and there has been comments about how others have gotten splinters while carrying it around. Smells like the forest. (Obtained during Attack of the Ancients event. Gives 1 of 4 possible pets. Limited Edition. Soul Bound)
