Waiting, and subsequently hurtling through the air at what felt like a hundred miles per hour gave her ample time to think that signing up for this had been a terrible idea. Amane had picked the air raid because she'd figured that she'll be of more use there, rather than stuck in the middle of a hoard of people, futilely aiming spells and struggling up metre by metre, but she swore, if she crashed into the wall because of this she was going straight back down to the ground forces, and then she'll strangle (okay, maybe not strangle. She would...she would glare) at whoever came up with this hair-brained scheme. Was it the Admiral? She thought it was the Admiral.
Thankfully, she soared above the wall by quite a bit, arching on top of the 3rd story of the castle. Almost too late, Amane realised that she was going to crash if she didn't release the parachute, and she quickly pulled the strings as instructed, the force nearly giving her whiplash, but probably saved her ass from being creamed on the castle roof. She'd noticed that a couple of people chose to rush the landing, risking disorienting themselves in the process, but allowed them to reach the castle and be of use far sooner. Her? She took her time descending, not wanting to risk breaking her leg and taking damage before the fight had even started. Along with the fact that she couldn't quite operate the parachute well enough to speed up the process, of course, but she sure wasn't going to admit that. The mages in charge of giving them cover were doing a good job, however, and despite several close calls she didn't get shot out of the air.
Touching down, she ran towards the barrier of light, its glow piercing in the dim surroundings. Neither Jack nor Astor had given more specific orders than "start fighting the enemy's forces", so along the way she incanted a shield spell of her own, choosing verbal over gestured commands as she used her hands to disengage the parachute from her back, using the generated sphere of light to crash into the enemy ranged troops while she sprinted towards the commanders' location. Reaching the barrier, she immediately cancelled the spell, arriving just in time to hear Astor elaborate on the plan. "Sure thing," she huffed, a little winded, her hands already in the motion of throwing an AOE blast of holy magic. "Any particular targets we should aim for, like mages with a specific type of magic, etc.? Or do we just cause as much havoc as possible?"
